Unmei Force Solitary Legends: The Creed of Fate
Sequence 06: Stormy Seas Guide The Gears of History
Part 1: A Time of Reflection
"As Kanemik:zo and I returned from our last endeavour and told of Johnson's death to Riccard and the others, they explained that they should be the ones to go out next. To my question as of why, I learned that the two Templars they have the greatest amount of hatred towards are the next targets: John Pitcairn, Komi's murderer, and Thomas Hickey, at his jovial tone towards the death of Komi. I wish them the best on their journey, and understand why they themselves must go. This has allowed time for collecting of thoughts and reflection to what Kanemik:zo and I have done for the past number of months. We have added Lawrence and Prudence to our Homestead, to our already growing resources from Lance's Lumber, Norris's Ores, Myriam's Animal skins, and now we have a source of more food. But as I reflect on these, there is one more thing I must touch on, that I have to come to terms with. I have distinct feelings towards Kanemik:zo. I am not sure if I should reveal such feelings to her just yet, but I am not sure how much longer I can hold such feelings from her. I am at a loss of what to do." Connor writes in his diary.
Davenport Homestead, 1774
Connor finishes writing in his diary, left to his thoughts on Koyomi, and what he could possibly do to show his affection towards her, in a preferably not awkward scenario. As he stood up, he thought about the things he could get her, and remembered her saying something about her katana, so he went to the armory while Koyomi wasn't present to see what had been the issue with it. And what he found was astonishing.
The katana was broken. Koyomi had hid the blade in the sheath so someone wouldn't notice, as Connor's eyes widened when he saw the blade's condition.
"Hmm… perhaps she would appreciate a new blade, or a new katana in general." Connor mused to himself as he sheathed the blade. "We'd need a Blacksmith though. I should probably ask around the Homestead if there are any good ones in either Boston or New York. I can't let Mizo find out about this either, I want this to be a surprise for her."
Connor put the blade back in its sheath as he soon began asking around the Homestead, seeing if anyone knew about a good Blacksmith.
Meanwhile, amiss to Connor's knowledge, Koyomi was having a similar issue despite knowing she couldn't be with Connor physically forever, but she couldn't deny it with the memories the Animus implanted into her character, she had distinct feelings for Connor as well.
"Well, I wouldn't deny that someone like Connor would be worth the love…" Koyomi answered back. "May as well give him proper love, so that he can live well with my counterpart when this comes to a head… Hopefully it won't end tragically for either of us."
So Koyomi decided as well to give Connor a gift, but what would he appreciate? So, like Connor did, Koyomi began some digging as well, and found out something that may be useful.
Connor had a collection of feathers from all kinds of birds in his things, however, there was one feather that he hadn't acquired just yet: The feather of a Bald Eagle.
"Perhaps getting the feather of a Bald Eagle and completing Connor's collection would make him happy. I should go out and try to find one." Koyomi mused, as she soon set out on horseback to find said feather.
So both went on their way to get the things required for their gifts. Connor acquired Big Dave the Blacksmith, and lead him back to the homestead from New York. Koyomi, meanwhile, leapt from tree to tree in search of the elusive eagle feather.
Connor soon returned to the Homestead with Big Dave, as Big Dave soon set up his blacksmith area, and Connor tasked him with giving Koyomi's katana a new blade, which Big Dave happily got to work to, using the ores Norris provided.
Meanwhile, Koyomi finally spotted a Bald Eagle nest, and found a Bald Eagle there on top of it. With careful precision and care, she was able to procure a full length feather from the Bald Eagle, and began making her way back to the Homestead.
Connor would return to the manor first, with Koyomi's blade in its sheath still, as he soon walked downstairs.
"Kanemik:zo? Kanemik:zo, are you here?" Connor called out downstairs as he looked for Koyomi. "Hm. I wonder where she could be off to-"
"Ratonhnhaké:ton?" Koyomi soon called from above, as Connor realized he had to hide her blade, so he rushed to the armory area and put it back in its place, before running back into the room to see Koyomi coming down the stairs.
"Ah, Kanemik:zo, there you are. I was looking for you." Connor said as Koyomi made her way downstairs.
"You were?" Koyomi asked back, as she still had the bald eagle feather in her grasp, although she didn't show it to Connor yet. "...Aha, what a coincidence… I was of the same mind as well. Good timing, it seems?"
"I suppose so. So why were you seeking me, if I may ask you?" Connor asked Koyomi in curiosity.
"I…" Koyomi started, before she then slowly revealed the pristine bald eagle feather in her hand. "I bear a gift for you, something for your time with me."
"...Kanemik:zo…!" Connor said in shock, as he took the bald eagle feather in his hands. "Is this… the feather of the bald eagle? ...This feather has always eluded me, because I've neither had the time or been in the proper area to locate one… I thank you for your gift… and I shall cherish it greatly." Connor said, before he soon clipped it onto his necklace. "I shall bear it around my neck, to remind myself of you and your kindness, Kanemik:zo."
Connor soon clasped his hands together. "As luck would have it, Kanemik:zo, I happen to have a gift to bear for you as well." Connor said, soon going back into the armory, and bringing out Koyomi's sword in its sheath. "I had noticed your blade having issues, so I managed to recruit a fine blacksmith to the Homestead, and, well, you are about to see the result." Connor said, handing it to Koyomi..
"Ah!" Koyomi remarked with awe, as she grabbed the refined blade, as she looked at it, seeing that it was reforged to its original state, if not better. "Ratonhnhaké:ton… I… I couldn't possibly consider a bald eagle feather to be sufficient for the trade of such a gift, even with how rare the feather is…!"
"Your gift is just as special. It is incredibly hard to find a Bald eagle. To me, I find my gift to be rather subpar, since all I had to do for it was find a good Blacksmith." Connor admitted with a smile.
"Oh… I suppose we're at an impasse with our gifts' value. Then I suppose that we've satisfied each other well enough." Koyomi answered back with a slight blush on her cheeks.
"I suppose we have." Connor responded back with a smile.
"Either way, I truly accept this gift graciously." Koyomi responded back. "Suppose that I should make use of this on the field then… Wouldn't want that effort to go to waste, no?"
"Indeed." Connor said. "...Kanemik:zo… I… I must admit something to you."
"Yes, Ratonhnhaké:ton?" Koyomi asked back.
"...I… I have a deep amount of feelings towards you, I can only describe it as love." Connor said. "It's why I went to the trouble of repairing your blade for you, because I could not bear to see you without a proper weapon, or a weapon you have become masterful at."
"Oh… Love…. By the spirits…" Koyomi remarked, as her blush returned much stronger than before. "...How forthcoming of you, Ratonhnhaké:ton… I expected that I would have been the first to proclaim such a thing, but like a warrior, you have charged into this boldly. I suppose that this must be the work of the ancestors… Hopefully we'll see to that ourselves."
Connor and Koyomi's eyes locked as they got closer to one another, as Koyomi set her blade down, and they embraced slowly, before they finally met one another's lips for a passionate kiss, signifying their acceptance of loving each other. They let out after a while to catch their breath as Connor was at a loss of what to say on the situation, but he figured no words were needed to be said.
Part 2: Helping at Sea
"So it was done, that is how the love between myself and Kanemik:zo blossomed. It was a rather touching moment for us both, and we've been doing things better ever since. Hunting, battling, even training. All this seemed easier thanks to us finally admitting our true feelings for one another. Riccard sends us letters in regards to the progress, and recently told us that Aerith and Mia helped Paul Revere warn the colonists that the British were coming to Lexington and Concord. I fear that they may be in battle as I write this, however I believe they can hold their own. However, there is a small hope for us as well. In the midst of all of this, North and South Boston have been liberated from the Templars by Selda and Victoria, who drove the gangs from North Boston, and hampered Redcoats conscription on South Boston. This has brought us many allies, and even two new recruits for our organisation. Duncan Little and Clipper Wilkinson. What's more is that with Stephane as well… they're slowly doing work to loosen Templar presence in the nearby areas... It will be a long time until their work is done, but the progres will be evident as time passes. However, our attention now turns to Robert Faulkner, as he has called for our aid at sea. I entrust Kanemik:zo with the wheel this time, and I shall man the swivel guns. At any rate, she'll be just as good leading the ship as I will." Connor writes as the scene opens to the East Coast.
East Coast, 1774
The Aquila was sailing as Connor was manning the swivel guns, while Koyomi was at the wheel. Both were sprouting proper sea wear, Connor in a blue clad uniform, while Koyomi went with a darker shade of blue.
"Ah! Good to be at sea again, but I don't much like that sky." Faulkner said as they sailed.
"Even a pretty sunrise is a bad omen to you, Mister Faulkner." Connor joked from his swivel gun.
"Right, we're out along the coast… Mister Faulkner, where are these raiders?" Koyomi asked, before she then hailed for full sails, to help speed the Aquila along.
"By guess and by God, an Easterly course towards the coast. Miss Mandy reports some British boats gathering somewhere in these rocks, threatenin' the Vineyard." Faulkner answered back.
"I suppose that the British have no low they won't sink too." Koyomi muttered under her breath, before the ship sailed into an open area, as they saw a merchant ship sailing away. "Merchant ship spotted… No, wait, British gunboats as well!"
"They're after her most definitely!" Faulkner cried, as the British gunboats fired on the merchant ship, damaging it bit by bit. "We must protect her for her course!"
"Don't need to repeat it, Mister Faulkner! Swivel guns at the ready… FIRE! And don't stop until the gunboats are nothing but splinters of wood!" Koyomi ordered, as she steered the ship to move parallel with the fleeing merchant ship, as the swivel guns fired at the currently present gun-boats, sinking them with crippling shots to the hull.
The Aquilla soon was behind the merchant ship, almost side-to-side, as Koyomi hailed the ship captain with a friendly sailor salute, to the captain's surprise, before he then respectfully returned it, as did the ship's crew as well.
As the Aquila sailed ahead, gunning down British raider gunboats from both sides, they soon encountered a formation of sea-mines ahead.
"Mines, captain! Destroy 'em or use 'em to our advantage! Either way, avoid the blasted things!" Faulkner warned Koyomi.
"Alright, as you wish!" Koyomi shouted back, before turning to Connor and the swivel gunners. "Hold fire until I call for it! When the signal comes, fire at the mines! We'll take the ambush out with some self-inflicted damage!"
The Aquila and the merchant-ship edged closer to the mines, as the British gun-boats came closer as well, unknowingly also getting closer to the sea mines as well.
"Hold… FIRE!" Koyomi ordered, before the swivel-gunners detonated the sea-mines, as it took out all but one of the ambushing gun-boats, and leaving the sole survivor crippled, before it too was destroyed in the next barrage of swivel-gun fire.
Eventually, the merchant ship and the Aquila left the coast, and into the sea, as the merchant ship quickly sped away, to shake off any pursuers.
"She should be safe now, but it's a hot chase. Get after them and end the threat on the Vineyard." Faulkner told Koyomi, who nodded, as she called for full sails again, as the Aquila rushed after the pursuing British boats with cannons and swivel-guns blazing, as they were sunk quickly.
However, in doing so, Faulkner noticed a sea-fort in the distance, as he could barely notice that it was aiming for them. "FORT! FOOORRRT!" Faulkner bellowed in warning, as the fort's mortar cannons fired in the waters ahead of them.
"A sea fort…!?" Koyomi exclaimed, as she switched the Aquila to half-sails, helping it twist around to avoid the next barrage of mortars.
"That lobcock shouldn't be there!" Faulkner exclaimed.
"Well, it IS there, Mister Faulkner!" Connor complained back, as he loaded the swivel-gun he was using again.
"And it's too close to the Vineyard! Time and tide waits for no man! Take out her towers! That should stop her!" Faulkner stated.
"Surely the swivel-guns can be of some use here, right?" Koyomi asked back.
"Well, captain, I…" Faulkner remarked, before he then was silent for a moment. "Actually, although the main cannons are the only thing that can take her towers down… If we got a lucky shot, we can temporarily silence them by taking the heads of her crew out with some eagle-eyed shots!"
"This plan could buy us some time for the cannons to reload, that way we only need to worry about some of the towers!" Connor said. "Mizo, on your signal!" Connor yelled as he took aim.
"Right, hold your stomachs and your hats! We're going full sail towards them!" Koyomi remarked, as she eased the Aquila closer to the sea-fort, while weaving and dodging most of the shots, as some of them were close enough to splash sea-water on the crew. Eventually, she got into position, as she turned the Aquilla over, for the port-side cannons and swivel guns to aim at the fort. "FIRE! FIRE!"
The cannons and swivel-guns fired in unison, as the swivel-guns aimed for the open spaces in the artillery towers, as some of them managed to land their target, disabling whatever towers weren't destroyed in the first cannon barrage. The only tower still active at the time could only manage a measly single shot, that grazed the Aquila, before the second barrage levelled the fort towers, disabling it.
As the Aquila's crew roared and cheered, Koyomi let out a sigh of relief.
"That fort won't be troubling anybody no more." Faulkner remarked, seeing the burning sea-fort. "Bloody English has gone too far this time."
"They have, but what I can't understand is why. Martha's Vineyard has no strategic value, and it's people are peaceful. I fear there is another force guiding this." Connor said, looking to Koyomi, as Faulkner knew what they meant.
"Templars." Faulkner said.
"Yes but I've yet to know as to why…" Connor said, looking towards Koyomi as she had just as puzzled of a look.
"Your orders, captain?" Faulkner looked towards Koyomi.
"We're setting course for the homestead." Koyomi answered back, as she turned the ship around. "We need time to figure out what this all means, and who might be responsible for the threat on the Vineyard."
They soon sailed for the Homestead, where Connor and Mizo would try to collect their thoughts.
Part 3: At Sea Yet Again
"As Kanemik:zo and I returned from our latest voyage, some grand news came in from Riccard and his platoon. John Pitcairn had been murdered, by Selda herself. This cripples the Templar force even more, and I have written back to them, explaining the Templar influence at sea. Riccard wrote back rather quickly, urging us that while they were planning on a way to assassinate Thomas Hickey, that Kanemik:zo and I should continue our work at sea, so that we may stop the Templars in our own way. And not long after, Robert Faulkner called for our aid again, that someone was calling for the Aquila's aid. Since she did well the last time, I opted for Kanemik:zo to pilot the ship again. She is becoming quite the master of sea, as am I." Connor said.
East Coast, 1775:
The Aquila sailed up to a shore, where a woman was waving at the boat.
"Do you trust her?" Connor would ask Faulkner.
"With my life, captain." Faulkner reassured, before he then brought the woman aboard.
"Hullo. Name's Amanda. You must be the captain." The woman introduced herself to Faulkner and Connor.
"Actually, the captain would be her." Connor answered back, gesturing at Koyomi, who walked over.
"Oh, I remember you both." Amanda answered back.
"Now what's this all about then?" Faulkner asked Amanda.
"You stride into my bar off the piss and looking for officers. Days later, I start hearing whispers the Ghost of the North Seas stalks the Atlantic again." Amanda answered back. "The Aquila has returned and I need her help. Nicholas Biddle now sails for the Patriots, captaining the Randolph. But the man is raiding up and down the coast'round Nantucket claiming it's a Loyalist post."
"Where is he now?" Koyomi asked.
Just as Amanda was about to answer, shots were heard far away.
"Speak of the Devil." Amanda said.
"Head below deck, Amanda, it's safer there." Faulkner said.
"Mizo, take the wheel, I shall spot for certain where the Randolph is." Connor told Koyomi.
"Will do. Full sails!" Koyomi declared, while Connor climbed up to the crow's nest, before pulling out a looking glass, as he could see the Randolph firing on an unarmed merchant vessel.
"The Randolph is attacking a merchant vessel not far from here. Keep course, Mizo!" Connor answered back.
"Rrrgh, all gunners to cannons and swivel guns, now!" Koyomi bellowed the order. "We're going to teach Biddle not to pick on the weak! Mister Faulkner, how much more do you know of that man!?"
"All of the sudden, Congress has a brand new ship for him to captain. From British coxswain to captain of a Colonial Flagship. Something doesn't add up." Faulkner answered back.
"You're right it doesn't… Tch, the wind is picking up, half-sails!" Koyomi declared, as the Aquila navigated through the rough waters. "Hopefully the ship can hold itself together until the delay is dealt with."
Suddenly, the Aquila was facing a large wave. "Spirits be damned… BRACE!" Koyomi cursed, before the crew braced, as the ship sailed over the wave, as water splashed on deck.
"That was a close one… MIZO, ANOTHER ONE TO THE PORT SIDE!" Connor yelled, seeing another rogue wave.
Koyomi noticed the wave, as she quickly moved around the side of the steering wheel, as she used it to brace herself from being washed off deck, as she was knocked against it. After getting up, she slowly got up, as the Aquila managed to get in distance of the merchant ship… as the Randolph was fleeing.
"The Randolph is fleeing…?" Koyomi remarked, before she then banged a fist against the steering wheel. "COWARD! Turning tail when you harassed a unarmed ship? If you have any honour in you, you would face your punishment like a warrior!"
"Calm yourself, captain! We cannot let the merchant vessel to the mercy of the English!" Faulkner scolded Koyomi.
"Right… You're right. Biddle can run… karma will come to him soon enough, but the innocent cannot be ignored." Koyomi sighed.
"Still, why is Biddle doing this? Nantucket is for the Patriots!" Faulkner exclaimed.
"If he is so craven to do such things, he is not so loyal as the Patriots believe him to be." Koyomi growled back.
As the Aquila fired on the British ships, it destroyed them quickly, saving the merchant ship.
"No more delays, we're after the Randolph." Koyomi stated, as she called for full-sails, as the ship sailed deeper into the storm after the Randolph.
After a while, they sailed towards where they saw the Randolph head towards, only to find more British frigates, as the storm was raging around them.
"Are those… British frigates?" Connor asked Faulkner.
"Afraid so, by the cut of their jibs." Faulkner answered back.
"Then did the Randolph…" Koyomi asked as well.
"He's gone. Cut and run. Left us to deal with this rabble." Faulkner responded back. "But this storm concerns me a great deal more."
"Just a little more, Mister Faulkner. We have to try to stop Biddle from committing more of this!" Koyomi exclaimed.
"As you wish. Gunners! Time your shots between the waves!" Faulkner cried. "And we must find shelter soon, or it won't be cannon fire that spells the end for the Aquila!"
As the Aquila sailed through the rough waves, the gunners immediately went to work, as Connor managed to blow a entire frigate by targeting a stack of powder kegs in a critical part of the ship, as the explosion was enough to seal the British frigate's fate in the storm, as it listed towards the water, before being swallowed by a large wave as it sunk. Eventually, the British frigates were sunk, as the storm was reaching its peak.
"I'd say it's high time we find some cover from this storm, captain!" Faulkner warned Koyomi, seeing the situation worsen.
"...Curse that coward Blddle… Mister Faulkner, I agree as well. This is no time to continue the pursuit. We're sailing for the Vineyard until the storm leaves!" Koyomi declared, as she turned the Aquila towards the island port.
"I have never seen weather like that." Connor shook his head.
"It's rare, but it happens. Your friend did well." Faulkner stated, giving both him and Koyomi a pat on the back. "What's bothering me is Biddle's a Patriot now. Why he's helping the British Navy like that? Old friends maybe?"
"How would you convince the Continential Congress that the Navy needs more ships…?" Connor questioned back.
"The rash of British raiding along the coast is reason enough to address this gripe. Gunboats at the Vineyard and now this…" Faulkner complained.
"...I have a feeling that this is all but a ploy for that snake to become First Admiral of the Colonial Navy." Koyomi voiced her thoughts.
"That was some deft sailing, captain." Amanda stated, as Koyomi turned to her. "I was watching from the gun deck."
"What were you doing on the gun deck? I told you to stay out of harm's way!" Faulkner scolded Amanda.
"I'm fine, Bobby. Not to worry. The people of Nantucket are surely grateful. And so am I." Amanda responded back. "Glad you're back."
Part 4: French Involvement
"Upon returning from our sea quest, Riccard informs us that the plan with Selda is working rather well, she is blending right in with the prisoners despite being a lady. However, they brought something up that was concerning, a New Templar has joined their ranks, a woman by the name of Lucine Alcatre. She has ascended to being near the top with both Charles Lee and my father, but more towards my father, even going as far to swear allegiance not to the Templars, but to him. When I revealed to them my suspicions that Nicholas Biddle was working for the Templars, I was surprised to find that there was a letter coming back that read: "Victoria is going to be returning for your next sea voyage." It probably has something to do with the choice words she and Biddle exchanged before." Connor said.
At the mention of Lucine, Siege had quickly sent a message to those inside the Animus, telling them the importance of the name. Lucine was actually Lucina, who had recently joined up with the Soldiers of Fortune during the group's exploration in the Animus, as well as Siege's group with Zeabolos. Upon hearing there were some time travel problems, she didn't hesitate with wanting to hop into the Animus, so Siege made sure to emphasise to not give away that she is friendly, but try not to kill her. This message was quickly understood, before things in the Animus resumed.
Davenport Homestead, 1776:
As Connor and Koyomi were making preparations for the next sea voyage, they would soon see Velouria stomping up to them, as Connor turned to her.
"Riccard told me you were coming back. Old grudge with Biddle?" Connor would ask.
"You could say that. I've met many brutes like him before, but since he is Church's little lapdog, killing him will make it easier for there to be a straight shot to that bastard." Velouria responded back. "Besides, Selda already doing well on her own, and Riccard, as well as the others have been helping out the Assassin recruits with everything going on. The Templars are already losing ground at this rate, and that means that there's less places where those Templar bastards can hide in."
"Quite true, quite true. Well, good to see ya back 'ere, Victoria." Faulkner said with a small smile.
"You can help me man the swivel guns." Connor explained to Velouria. "Mizo has done an incredible job with piloting the boat, with little errors, near none, in her piloting skills."
"Oh, did she?" Velouria remarked, eyeing Koyomi with a wide grin. "Well, looks like she found her natural calling so to speak, to guide that lady of a ship like the spirits of the wind, heh heh."
Koyomi looked away, as she was fascinated by the compliment, before Velouria boarded the ship, as she gave one of the swivel-guns a bit of a test by swerving it around, before she then took her place on it.
"Well then, let's be off." Faulkner said as they took to sea.
East Coast, 1776:
The Aquila was soon sailing up to a Spanish-looking boat, that was actually a French Boat.
"Our contract. She may look like a Spanish ship, lads and lasses, but she's a French ship through and through." Faulkner said.
"The ship was supposed to deliver goods to Georgie and the Patriots, but their escort just up and left them in the open ocean." David Clutterbuck added.
"We will see to it Washington gets what he needs." Connor said, as footsteps were heard, a French man boarding the Aquila.
"Where is le capitane?" The French man said as he stomped to the wheel area of the boat, looking for a captain.
"You're looking at her." Koyomi answered back.
"You are LATE!" The french man shouted out loud.
"Well, the winds weren't strong today, so being late was expected." Koyomi scoffed.
"Too slow." The French man seethed.
"With all due respect sir, you do realise you are speaking to the heralded Spirit Wind of the North, piloting the Ghost of the North Sea?" Faulkner would say with a threatening edge to his voice, which immediately changed the French Man's demeanor.
"That is you? Ah, my apologies, I, uh… I did not recognise you at first…" The French Man apologised quickly.
"It doesn't matter. What happened to your escort? Perhaps that's why you're so hot and bothered." Koyomi asked back.
"Le Randolph started with us then departed without warning." The French man answered back, before throwing his arms up. "Typique. This is why le Lieutenant insisted I come aboard."
"An understandable decision sir. We'll make sure La Belladonna crosses the waters safely." Connor said.
"Looks like all is set." Koyomi stated, seeing La Belladonna loosen their sails. "Full sails men, let's go!"
As the two ships sailed by the waters, into the fog ahead, the Aquila slowly made its way close behind La Belladonna, and they soon heard the sound of cannon shots in the foggy mist around them, as some of them landed close.
"English are on us, cap'n!" Richard Clutterbuck declared.
"All men to the cannons and the swivel guns!" Koyomi bellowed her order, as the French man could only watch with awe, as the experienced crew took their positions with little delay. "Fire the star-board cannons! Fire them from where the shots came from!"
The Aquila's cannons fired loudly, as it was followed shortly by the sound of splintering wood from direct hits, although they still heard the sound of cannon-fire, as the crew braced, while some managed to graze the deck.
"Why in God's name are the English here in such force?" Faulkner shouted.
"Who cares!? They're going to the bottom of the sea, no matter who or what they are!" Velouria exclaimed, as she slammed the ammo into her swivel gun, before taking out one of the British ship masts, and then loading another and firing it right into the bow of the ship, as it managed to strike gun-powder, blowing a large part of the ship up, as it sank.
"Mon dieu…" The French man could only say, as he watched as the Aquilla sailed by the fight, as it took hits from the British ships, although they caused minor damage at most, some even missing entirely, and the Aquila was firing cannon barrage after cannon barrage, with each shot sinking at least a single ship, if not multiple on the same side. "Ghost of the North Seas indeed… And the Spirit Wind of the North guiding the ship like a swan through the lake... C'est magnifique…"
"Go blow up and sink, you red-coated bastards!" Velouria swore, as she sunk another ship with a well-aimed swivel gun shot, that blew the gun-boat up.
"Enjoy the coral, you bastard!" Faulkner taunted the sinking British ships.
Soon after they got rid of the surrounding British ships, as they left the fog, they came face-to-face with a British man-of-war, which was a large ship that was considered to be the battleship of current times, loaded with multiple levels of cannons.
"Man-Of-War ahead!" Faulkner exclaimed.
"Wait, is it going to-" Koyomi was about to state, before the man-of-war fired all cannons on the side right at La Belladonna, as the insane barrage of cannons left the French ship burning brightly, as the ship itself was slowing down from torn sails and a broken rudder.
"Grand Dieu! La Belladonna's mainmast is down, captaine! She needs us! S'il te plaît!" The French man begged.
"Do not worry, a man-of-war, this might be, we have faced a sea fort with only a few scuffles!" Koyomi shouted. "We will sink-"
"Hold it! If we're going to get on with this, it's better that we board this ship." Velouria interrupted. "I wonder if the captain of this ship has any clue on how they knew La Belladonna was going through here. I'd bet a pretty few pounds that Biddle sang the fucking song!"
"Board her? Es-tu frou!?" The French man declared.
"Hey, if you don't want to get shot or stabbed, then stay in the lower deck! The men here are going to clobber these red-coats, who think its just cannons who decide a naval battle!" Velouria growled back.
"Alright, if you want to board her then I'll go through with it! No complaints here!" Koyomi said. "But after we board her, we're sinking her down into the sea for the trouble it caused here. MEN! SWITCH TO CHAIN SHOT!"
"Aye-aye!" They yelled, as they switched the shots to Chain Shots and whirled the ship alongside the Man-o-War.
"Wait… wait…!" Koyomi said, making sure the shot was timed well. "NOW! FIRE, FIRE!"
Chain shots were let loose, destroying nearly all the sails of the Man-o-War, as Koyomi quickly pulled the Aquila near that ship.
"Haul her in boys, prepare to board!" Faulkner declared as the men got to action. "Cover the quarters, men! Attach the hook lines!"
Connor, Koyomi, and Velouria soon dashed towards the ship, Connor with his hatchet out, Koyomi her katana, and Velouria her sword and flintlock, as they leapt aboard the ship amidst roars from their crewmates, who joined the fight with rifles and sabers, killing some crewmates who tried to stop them from boarding, while the gunners covered with the swivel-guns.
As Velouria moved through the deck, she was grazed across the cheek by a flint-lock shot, as she snapped her head around, as the British captain was holding a flint-lock towards her. When she growled, and rushed after him, he turned away and ran, while some of his crew ran to cover him.
"Thought you could get away with that, you bilge-rat…!?" Velouria remarked, before she then clasped the sword in her hand with both hands, before she then hacked right through the impeding crew with brutal force. "THINK AGAIN!"
Velouria then lined up with the fleeing British Captain, before she then fired a single shot right through his chest, halting him as he fell. As Velouria walked over to him, the world around them both began to fade.
"Right, now that you're dealt with, how about you confess a little something, before I send you down under?" Veloiuria stated, before she then pressed the barrel of the flint-lock against the captain's forehead. "Who told you about where La Belladonna was going? Your dear Command?"
"British Command knows nothing of this." The captain rasped back.
"Oh? Then who snitched then?" Velouria asked back.
"We were lead here by a Patriot. Nicholas Biddle." The captain answered back.
"Well, then I think that your usefulness has come to an end." Velouria smirked, before she then blew the captain's brains out with the flintlock, as she walked away, while the Aquila's crew was raiding and stripping the disable man-of-war of all of its resources.
"What did the captain tell you?" Faulkner asked Velouria.
"I called it, so you owe me a few pounds, because it's Nicholas fucking Biddle." Velouria answered back. "Looks like he's been-"
Connor took the moment to look around, before he then spotted Nicholas Biddle observing them as well, on the nearby Randolph. "The Randolph…" Connor stated.
"The Randolph!? Alright men, to the cannons-" Koyomi cried, before she then realised something. "No, belay that… the bastard is trying to play us. We will remain until La Belladonna is secured and safe. The bastard can run all he likes... But he will have nowhere to go soon enough."
"Damn right." Velouria nodded strongly.
The Randolph soon sailed off after that conversation, with Connor, Velouria, and Koyomi all glaring as it fled.
"The next time we meet… Biddle won't be leaving alive." Connor said with assurance.
