Unmei Force Solitary Legends: The Creed of Fate

Sequence 07: Waves of a New Future

Part 1: An Odd Reunion

"We returned from sea to find even more grand news, but also troubling, from Riccard. Thomas Hickey has been murdered, however, The Templars have a distinct plot now. To kill George Washington. This was something that sparked both myself and Kanemik:zo into action, despite the words that Riccard and Achilles tried to sway us with. We have to warn George Washington… but neither Kanemik:zo or I knew how to properly inform them, as we left the Homestead, with some words that I'd much rather like to forget I said to them, Achilles especially. We met up with Washington, who sent us to the southern road to look for his convoys, after Kanemik:zo and I comforted him in his troubles, reminding him that what he was doing had a purpose. We only hope that sparks him in the right direction." Connor writes in his diary, as the scene soon shows him and Koyomi walking up to an abandoned church, looking inside for the supplies that they were seeking.

As they walked in, Lucina and Haytham were positioned in an ambush spot. They were hoping for Benjamin, but seeing Connor and Koyomi would suit them both. They soon leapt, as Connor and Koyomi noticed them just in time to hold them from killing the both of them, but Haytham and Lucina had Hidden Blades at their necks.

"Any last words?" Lucina would ask as she kept trying to slit Koyomi's throat.

"Wait." Koyomi stated. "Or do you prefer to get this over with so soon?"

"Poor choice." Lucina said, before she and Haytham were tossed aside by Connor and Koyomi.

"Come to check up on Church? Make sure he'd stolen enough for your British brothers?" Connor growled, as the two pairs circled around each other.

"Benjamin Church is no brother of mine. No more than the Redcoats or their idiot kings." Haytham answered back. "I expected naivete. But this… the Templars do not fight for the crown. We seek the same as you, boy, and your companion. Freedom, Justice, Independence."

"Empty words coming from a man who abandoned his own son to suffer at the hands of his own circle." Koyomi coldly retorted back. "Your entire circle of Templars is nothing but self-serving wretches. I have yet to see anyone of your kind who actually can hold to those values."

"Are you listening to yourself? Why do you think you see less and less Redcoats wandering about? Why do you think we keep trying to support the Patriots, which to your ignorant eyes appears as treasonous acts? How about you pay attention for once!" Lucina yelled.

"You speak for peace but you enforce violence, same with Johnson, Pitcairn, and Hickey!" Connor yelled.

"Oh come now, are you that dull!? Johnson was trying to protect your people, but you stubborn idiots didn't listen to him! Pitcairn was trying to end the war, which, may I add, YOU WENT AND GOT GODDAMN STARTED! And Hickey, hah! He was doing us a favor for once! Washington's a blabbering fool, he's lost every battle he's led, and he can barely form a proper sentence without doubling back on himself!" Lucina yelled back, before stopping and controlling her anger. "Look… as much as Haytham and I would love to spar with you, we realise that our goals, at the moment, are aligned. You want those supplies for your foolish errand. We want Benjamin Church punished."

"...So you propose a truce then..?" Koyomi stated with a dry tone, and an unamused expression. "As much as I would like to say that this is a ruse, you seem like that you're not lying about hating Benjamin Church. Fine, this is on grounds that the others still speak reasonably high about you. But if you try to cross us, consider it void. Both Connor and I prefer to finish this matter with little trouble… even if it means consorting with devils."

"Excellent." Haytham said. "Shall we be off then?"

"Do you two even know where Church is?" Connor would ask.

"Unfortunately, no, we don't. We had hoped to ambush him here, but it appears he's already cleaned the place out and left." Lucina said. "Could be a while before we find him again…"

Connor and Koyomi soon looked out at some signs on where Benjamin went, as Connor nodded towards Koyomi.

"We may be able to track him." Connor spoke up, which caught Lucina and Haytham's attention.

Optional Objective:

Don't let Haytham or Lucine lose more than 50% Health

Haytham: 100%

Lucine: 100%

"Keep an eye on them." Koyomi gestured to Connor, as she walked out, before she then surveyed the broken remains of a supply crate nearby, as she examined it. "Hm, quite the bundle in here, medical supplies, clothes, rations… Must have been nearby by the looks of the stuff here."

The group then slowly made their way down the path, before they noticed a pair of cart tracks in the snowy path.

"Still hasn't been covered yet… Getting closer to someone who has been moving this all around… And to Benjamin Church as well." Koyomi remarked. "We're continuing ahead."

Eventually, the group managed to find a mercenary who was carrying a cart of supply crates, as his cart was broken.

"Just my luck… going to freeze to death if I don't get this fixed." The mercenary grumbled, as Koyomi gestured to Connor, who snuck over, and smashed him with the blunt end of the hatchet to daze him, before he was dragged up and slammed onto a tree.

"We have questions, and you will answer." Connor stated. "Where is Benjamin Church?"

"I don't know! We were riding for a camp north of here. It's where we normally unload the cargo." The mercenary pleaded. "Maybe you'll find him there!"

"That was easy enough." Lucina said, before bringing out her Flintlock and killing him, which miffed Connor and Koyomi.

"That wasn't necessary." Connor said.

"What? You didn't expect that he would snitch?" Lucina asked Connor, which Connor sighed, accepting that Lucina had a point.

"Fair point." Koyomi stated. "So what now?"

"Go catch up with the rest of Church's men. Infiltrate that camp of theirs and see what you can discover." Haytham answered back.

"What about you then?" Connor asked back.

"We have our own way of keeping tabs on things. We'll make sure no tattletales circle behind you and give you away. That's fair, is it not?" Lucina quipped at the two, adjusting her hat atop her head some.

"That's a solid trade." Connor said with a nod. "Very well."

Connor and Koyomi soon headed north to find the camp, soon catching up to a cart driver as they followed it, soon reaching the camp and seeing two guards who were heading for the center of the camp, as Connor and Koyomi began to silently tail them to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"About time you showed up!" One of the mercenaries stated. "Listen here, Boss wants us to try something new tonight. A raid. No more convoys. We're to steal from the Yank camp itself."

"Valley Forge?" The other mercenary asked back.

"That's right." The first mercenary answered back.

"You sure about this?" His companion stated with concern.

"It's not my business to be sure or not sure. I just do as Church asks. If you're so concerned, take it up to him." The first mercenary argued back.

"Is he here?" The other mercenary asked back.

"Hah. Course not. Hiding in New York the last I heard, trying to keep a low profile, what on account of him not wanting to go back to jail and all." The first mercenary answered back.

"Look what we found here!" Another mercenary stated, as with him, was a group that were dragging Haytham and Lucina out. "These two were creeping 'round the camp all suspicious-like! Must be Yank spies, the two of them!"

"Nah, these two are special ones." The mercenary said, walking up to Haytham and Lucina. "Isn't that right Lucine? Haytham? Church told me all about you two."

"Then you should know you're making a mistake." Lucina said, before the guy smirked and punched both Haytham and Lucina, bloodying their faces some.

"You two aren't really in a position to make threats now are you?" The mercenary taunted, before Lucina and Haytham eyed Connor and Koyomi in position to ambush.

"Not yet." Haytham said, looking up at the mercenary, as the mercenary was left wondering for a moment, before he was killed through a Hidden Blade through the back, before Koyomi cut down the mercenaries restraining Lucina and Haytham.

The four of them immediately took down the approaching mercenaries, as Haytham dusted his hands off momentarily.

"Alright then, so it's New York that Church has holed himself in." Haytham remarked.

"So what now? You plan on going with us on the whole trip?" Koyomi asked back.

"Of course. Didn't we say that Church needs to be punished?" Lucina asked. "Of course, for this plan to properly work out the way we want it, since I have a good idea where he might be holed up at, you two will need a change of appearance. Meet us in New York when you two have found proper Colonist clothes to disguise yourselves."

With that, Lucina and Haytham left, leaving Connor and Koyomi to find proper attire changes, as they headed for New York.

Part 2: Foam and Flame

Connor and Koyomi soon found Haytham and Lucina standing in front of the building Benjamin Church was inside, as they approached wearing militia gear for male and female both, as Lucina and Haytham were impressed.

"That should get you two in no issue. Come on, then." Lucina said, as they walked up to the building, before being halted.

"Wait, I'll let you two in, and the pretty lady as well, but not the savage." The guard said.

"He is my son." Haytham replied.

"Oh, get in touch with forest blood, eh? Fine, come in." The guard said, allowing the group of 4 by as they reached the door to Benjamin Church.

"Locked. I should have this cracked in a minute." Lucina said, getting to work on picking the lock.

"I've been meaning to ask you, son. How's your mother?" Haytham would ask.

"Dead." Connor bluntly replied, which made Haytham do a double take, as Lucina even paused a second at hearing this, before going back to picking the lock.

"...I… I'm sorry to hear that." Haytham said, which sent Connor off the deep end.

"Oh, I'm sorry. You sent your men to come to my village, burn it down, and you gave the command! And you're sorry?" Connor asked in anger, which made Haytham appalled.

"I never gave them the order. I specifically told them to abandon that mission and focus on more pertinent matters!" Haytham said, as Lucina finished the lock picking and walked up to Connor and Koyomi.

"Who was it. Who ordered the village to be raided?" Lucina asked in anger. "Was it Johnson? Pitcairn? Hickey? Church?" Lucina asked, seeing no reaction to these, so she asked the last name on the list. "...Lee?"

"Who else? That bastard literally pinned Connor to a tree and threatened to burn his entire world down. And he made true to that." Koyomi remarked. "If it's not you who let that happen, then I was right to keep my wrath centred on Charles Lee. If you want to stop either me or Connor on doing that… you're welcome to try, after Church is dead and this truce has ended. I have no love lost for you, Haytham Kenway, and it stays that way until a blessed miracle comes. We watched as Kaniehti-io screamed as the fire consumed her."

"...No… no, I'm not going to stop you." Lucina said, seething anger behind her words. "I've always had issues with Lee. There was something in his eyes, something past the goal of the Templars. Now I know exactly what it is."

"As do I. Power. I always had the feeling he hadn't really enjoyed being under my command…" Haytham said with a growl in his own tone. "...I should have known that Selda spoke some sense back then… Give us some time to process this but for the moment, don't consider us Templars, or Assassins. We are neutral as of now. Let's finish this with Church."

Connor, in a sudden change of mood, placed a hand on his father's shoulder. "...I was about to tell you that my forgiveness was gone for you… but to see you finally seeing reason and forsaking the Templars who made you like this… perhaps there is hope for peace, with the four of us working together."

Koyomi looked towards Haytham, before she then sighed. "If Connor finds it to forgive you, I'll reconsider my opinion of you," She relented. "But your actions later will speak enough about that."

Haytham nodded, before shoving open the door, as he walked towards, supposedly, Benjamin Church.

"Benjamin Church, you have broken our covenant and our standards that make you a Templar. For revealing our plans and betraying us, we hereby sentence you to death." Haytham said, before the man turned around… and it wasn't Church, but a decoy.

"NOW!" The man yelled as mercenaries ran in, with muskets at the ready. "You're too late. Benjamin Church already has sailed away, long gone by now, probably. You won't find him, or have the chance to do so." The man said as he chuckled, before in quick reaction, the group of four pushed away the muskets and killed the mercenaries, as more ran in. "Kill them all, boys!"

The four immediately fought down the mercenaries, as wave upon wave got in, although they did nothing to stop the four of them, as he tried to flee when they were all gone, before Haytham crippled him with a leg shot.

"Alright, now that your ambush is dealt with? Where is Church?" Koyomi demanded.

"I'll tell you. Anything you want! Only promise that you'll let me live." The decoy begged.

Koyomi eyed Connor, who nodded, as she dragged the decoy up on his feet.

"Fine. I won't kill you on the spot, but you better not lie, or the obligation won't be held from the others." Koyomi threatened.

"He left for Martinique, on a cargo ship known as the Welcome. Loaded half its hold and set out rather quickly. That's all I know, I swear!" The decoy said, before Connor silently looked at Lucina, who stabbed him through the chest. "...You promised…!"

"And she kept her word." Lucina said. "Come on, we have a ship to ca-"

"Ready!" Called a voice from above, as a firing line was about to shoot them, as Connor and Koyomi quickly tackled Lucina and Haytham out of the way of gunfire, as they fired, but instead hit some powder kegs and set the building on fire.

"Oh, just our luck." Koyomi cursed, as explosions racked the building, caused by the deposits of alcohol stored within. "Only way out is through the top! Move it!"

The four of them quickly got to moving, with Lucina and Haytham rushing ahead of them. When they got to the top, Lucina and Haytham had muskets pointed at them, as Connor and Koyomi made their way up, when boards crashed down and made a hole, as the mercenaries fell through, and Haytham and Lucina were barely hanging on, which Connor and Koyomi quickly hauled them up respectively.

"Ah, thank you. Now then, let's get out of here." Haytham said, soon going to the door but finding it shut. "Blast, Connor, Mizo, help us find something to pry this open with." Haytham said, but got no response.

"Connor? Mizo?" Lucina asked as she and Haytham turned to see them readying for a charge. "Oh no, don't do that, we don't know what's on the other SIII-" Lucina yelled as she was tackled by Koyomi, and Haytham by Connor, as the door shattered, allowing the four to fall into the water below. "-iiiide!" Lucina finished as they hit the water below, and quickly surfaced for air.

"We do now." Connor said, as Haytham rolled his eyes at that, as the four of them swam to shore.

"Church likely has a day on us now, we'll need to chase him immediately." Haytham said as he was drying off, as was Lucina.

"We have a vessel. Meet us at the docks." Connor said to Lucina and Haytham, before he and Koyomi went to prepare the Aquila.

Part 3: A Double Bitter End

Haytham and Lucina soon met Connor and Koyomi at the docks, where they had a rowboat ready to get on the Aquila. Haytham and Lucina soon got in the boat.

"Well then. Let's be off." Lucina said, as they rowed to the Aquila, where they soon sailed to the Caribbean Sea.

Caribbean Sea, 1778:

The Aquila was heading full sail towards where the Welcome was last spotted, with Koyomi at the wheel, steering the boat.

"Are you sure this is a proper heading?" Haytham asked Koyomi. "Church could surely be days ahead if you're wrong!"

"Have some faith in the lass, she's not rumoured as the Spirit Wind of the North for nothing." Faulkner stated.

Soon, the Aquila managed to sail nearby an island, where they found the Randolph was right there.

"The Randolph…!" Koyomi exclaimed.

"It seems that Church has decided to finally call in some help of his own. If the Randolph is here… Then the Welcome is either heading here, or its nearby." Connor stated.

"Either way, we promised Victoria that Biddle would pay for all of this." Koyomi stated. "Connor, go and see if the Welcome is anywhere in sight, I'll assault the Randolph!"

Connor nodded, before he then headed up to the crow's nest, as Haytham walked over to Koyomi.

"What are you doing!? Church is the priority here!" Haytham argued.

"We know, but until we have any clue on where Church is, Biddle and the Randolph are the only leads to him." Koyomi stated.

"Just as you said, Mizo! The Randolph is escorting the welcome, dead ahead!" Connor yelled.

"It seems this is a difficult decision to make." Lucina said. "If we pursue Church, Biddle may sail away, if we pursue Biddle and the Randolph… Church may escape."

"The command is yours, captain. Are we to pursue the Welcome or the Randolph first?" Faulkner would ask.

Choose Naval Mission:

A Bitter End

Biddle's Hideout

"As much as it might not sit well… If Biddle is left unchecked, he'll shoot us in the back while we take down Church." Koyomi stated. "We'll take him down, and ensure that Church has no-one to cover his cowardly hind."

"Argh… as much as I hate to admit it, your process has strategic merit to it." Haytham said with a growl. "Very well, Biddle is our target! At least we can be certain, Church no longer has a full day on us."

"Switch to chain shots! Cripple the Randolph!" Koyomi ordered.

The Aquila then fired on the Randolph, as the chain shots stripped its mast to splinters, halting it, before the Aquila rushed to it, as the Welcome moved full-sail away, knowing that it shouldn't stick around.

"Board the Randolph! Nicholas Biddle will be ours to take down!" Koyomi declared, as she moved off the wheel, as Connor slid down the crow's nest.

"Hook us in! Bring us close!" Faulkner bellowed.

"To arms! To arms!" Richard Clutterbuck shouted, as he threw rifles for the crew to arm themselves with.

The crew of the Aquila quickly rushed onto the Randolph, as Haytham and Lucina lagged behind, purposely to avoid being spotted by Biddle, as the crew slew their way through the ship's deck. However, what they didn't notice, was that someone rushed out of the Aquila's lower deck…

Koyomi and Connor rushed forward, as they faced Nicholas Biddle, as he drew his blade.

"Give it up, Biddle, you're outnumbered two to one." Connor stated.

"Hah! You think that you uncultured savages can be a match for me? Then give me your best!" Biddle mocked, before he rushed foward, duelling the both of them, as he was able to hold his own for a moment, although he was overpowered quickly, as Connor kicked him across the deck, as he slid on it.

Koyomi tried to rush forward, although Biddle pulled out his flint-lock, as he aimed right at a powder barrel nearby, blasting Koyomi back, as Connor caught her, while Biddle fell through into the ship's lower deck.

"Kanemik:zo!" Connor exclaimed. "Are you unharmed?"

"Argh, don't worry about me, I'm just a bit dazed… Biddle is trying to get away… We need to-" Koyomi exclaimed.

"BIDDLE!" Velouria cried, as she leapt right onto the Randolph's deck, and hopped right through the hole in the ship deck.

"Was that… Victoria?" Connor asked himself, as Haytham noticed it as well.

Velouria then got up, as she sprinted through the lower deck, as she tackled Biddle, who was trying to rig the powder-barrels to blow the crew above, as the both of them tumbled across the wooden floor.

"Well, well, looks like you've got nowhere to run this time." Velouria smirked, as she readied her blade. "I would have wanted to smash your ass through the ground, but I'll settle with colouring the ground with your bloodied guts!"

"Your misplaced sense of justice is pathetic. You should have stayed with your wet-nurse, whore!" Biddle taunted back.

The two of them clashed, as they managed to land slashes on each other, although Velouria was getting the upper hand on the fight, before she then feinted, causing Biddle to make himself vulnerable, before she then thrust her blade through his chest, before then slicing his abdomen open, as he fell onto the ground, as the world faded around them.

"Looks like it's the end for Nicholas Biddle, pirate tyrant of the Colonial coasts." Velouria stated.

"Is that why you hunted me? Because you thought me an enemy to your cause?" Biddle wheezed. "You're every bit the fool I was told."

"Says the soon-to-be corpse." Velouria retorted back. "Don't get me wrong, I came here because you pissed me off, and that you're unfortunate to be Church's little bulldog, gnawing at anyone who stands in his way. Getting rid of you will make it easier to sever his head from his body. Besides, saves a lot of people from whatever pain and suffering you bring to them."

"Pain. Suffering. I set them free. Weeded out the dissenters and empowered the Patriots." Biddle argued back. "So what if I was named Admiral. The Revolution needs one and I was the best man for the job. The only man, if not for me, the Continential Navy would remain but a handful of rafts. For all your vision, you Assassins are blind to the truth."

"And you expect me to say you're wrong? Please, I'm not as idealistic as Connor or Mizo here. All I care about is vengeance on the ones who murdered someone who would have actual proper change." Velouria scoffed, as she poised her blade to finish Biddle off. "Just fucking croak already, you fat greedy toad. Nobody will miss you."

"Wait. Let the Randolph die with me… Don't take her as a prize! Please. Please, I want no quarter, just to sink with my ship." Biddle coughed.

"...You know, I've half a mind to spit at your final wish, just to spite you in your last moments. But the Randolph is a loyal ship to her captain, and fought well, from what I heard. Don't mistake it for grace on you, or the fact that she belonged to a unworthy bastard like you. She deserves to go down in a blaze of glory. Now then, go to hell where you belong." Velouria stated, before she then stabbed through Biddle's eye, into his brain, ending him quickly.

She then walked over to the powder kegs, as she carefully set up the powder barrels to go off at once, creating a makeshift fuse to give the Aquila and the others time to get away, before lighting it, and getting out.

When she stepped out, she was greeted by Connor and Koyomi.

"What of Biddle?" Connor asked.

"He's certainly dead. And I'd suggest getting everyone off the ship. Biddle decided to spite us, lighting the fuse in his final breaths." Velouria warned.

"EVERYONE OFF THE RANDOLPH!" Koyomi bellowed the warning, as the Aquila's crew returned to their ship, as they disengaged the boarding hooks, before sailing away on full-sails, before the Randolph exploded and sunk into the waters.

"I guess that's that then. A tad over-dramatic, if you ask me." Faulkner commented. "Still, a waste of a formidable ship, although not like there was much choice, as it seems."

"It's done with Biddle. Now we can focus on Church, and take him down once and for all." Connor said.

"That's right. We know where he's headed. He can't have run far." Koyomi stated.

"Heh, I think I have had my fill with Biddle already. Church can be yours. Oh, and Haytham?" Velouria stated, as she walked over to Haytham.

"What is it, Victoria?" Haytham asked, before being gut-punched hard enough to collapse on the ground momentarily.

"That's for being an upright ass to us for the last few years." Velouria stated. "Consider us now even. If you want to go back to the old times, feel free. Since that pit-bull Pitcain is dead for what he did to Komi, and Hickey is ironically strung to hang and dry… I'm willing to forgive you, and so does everyone back at the Homestead. Although… you might want to think about what you want to say to Achilles… he's at the end of his lifespan from last I heard from Aerith."

"Mmrgh…" Haytham grunted as he recovered and stood. "You have my condolences for him, Victoria. And, this time has sea has given myself and Lucine quite the time to think about where our allegiance should lie. Where our priorities should be."

Haytham soon looked at Connor, walking up to him. "Son… I may not have been the best father to you. I was probably not even a proper husband to your mother before her passing. But know this. No longer will I be serving the wretched Templars. Their path to Justice and Freedom is wrought with multiple accounts of war. From here on, son, I am at your side."

Connor smiled at this, soon hugging his father in a heartfelt embrace, as Haytham returned the hug, as Lucina soon walked up to them.

"While I may have been a Templar, my allegiance was to Haytham. And that will never change. If he is switching to your side, then so am I." Lucina said.

"I am glad to hear that. We all shall be." Connor said, before looking to Faulkner. "Mister Faulkner, what direction did the Welcome sail?"

"To the northwest, my boy. Let's not waste any time, or Church may yet get a full day on us." Faulkner said.

"You heard Mister Faulkner, men!" Koyomi said as she took the wheel. "Full sail! We need every knot she has! Time to finish this with Benjamin Church."

So, they sailed after the Welcome, soon finding it anchored and abandoned.

"It appears empty and abandoned." Connor said as they sailed up to it.

"Church always was a slippery bastard." Haytham mused, before cannon shots rang out, as another boat was trying to escape.

"Enemy boat! Chase them!" Faulkner yelled.

"That's gotta be Church!" Lucina said as they began to turn and chase after Church.

The Aquila sailed through the waters, as Koyomi navigated the ship smoothly through the gaps in the rock formations, as the ship didn't seem to be moving farther from their sight, with how the Aquila was keeping speed with it, despite being a smaller model. However, Church's ship navigated into a small crevasse between a pair of cliffs, too small for the Aquila to squeeze through.

"She's passing through the cliffs, lass! And the Aquila's too big to follow! We need to go around!" Faulkner informed Koyomi.

"Then we'll make use of full sails, handling and rudder be damned!" Koyomi exclaimed. "All men, brace yourselves, the Aquila will be swaying in the waters strongly!"

"Goddamnit! We're going to lose him!" Haytham cursed.

The Aquila managed to sail through the other side of the cliffs, as the crew managed to hold steady on the deck, before they noticed that Church had a British ambush fleet waiting for them, as they fired on the sailing Aquila.

"Bastard!" Connor swore. "He intended for us to follow, and placed his ships here to sink us!"

"Slippery bastard as always… sink him! Bring him to the sea floor!" Lucina cursed.

"No, we need those supplies, we're going to board that Man-o-War, but first, the platoon he has with him needs to go down." Koyomi said. "All men, prepare for battle! Man the cannons, man the swivels, I want all these ships that Church called upon down on the sea floor in splinters!"

"Aye, aye, captain!" Velouria exclaimed, as she immediately fired down one of the British ships' masts, slowing the disabled ship down, as it was sunk with one of the Aquila's cannon barrages.

The Aquila manoeuvred across the water, as it avoided the cannon-shots from the retaliating British ships, before the escort for the man-of-war Church fled to was destroyed, and its masts were destroyed by a hail of chain shots and well-placed swivel gun shots, leaving it crippled.

"Men, prepare to board-" Koyomi shouted.

"Not yet! Ram that bastard!" Velouria shouted. "We got to give him a proper gesture to show he's nowhere to run!"

"If it'll help shake their crew up… Then go on, the Aquila is a tough girl, she can handle butting those above her class a few times, as you can see." Faulkner stated.

"Alright, men, BRACE!" Koyomi stated, as she swung the Aquila around, as it immediately used the full force of the wind in its sail to smash into the man-of-war with crushing force, as it managed to smash a part of the cannon decks in, while the Aquila merely dented its bow in return. Upon this happening, Lucina and Haytham quickly jumped onto the Man-of-War without anyone else supporting them, as Connor saw this and realized they'd need to follow.

"Secure the ship!" Connor called.

"Hook us in! Bring us close!" Faulkner yelled.

"To arms! To arms!" Yelled Richard Clutterbuck.

"To the swivels! Cover from the quarter deck!" David Clutterbuck yelled out. "Secure the aft lines!"

"Bring them closer to the rails! I'll blow these bastards away with a good shot!" Velouria yelled, as she used the swivel gun to blow down any gunners and crew members in her sight.

Connor and Mizo soon rushed to the boat, as among their crewmates roaring, they jumped on to the Man-of-War, killing two of the opposing crew who tried to attack them.

"We must get below deck. He may no longer be a Templar, but Father and Lucine probably are still going to make Church suffer. In some way." Connor suggested.

"I know. But we need to take out the officers around here first. We need to crush the morale of the opposing crew, before we can fight our way down there." Koyomi answered back, before she then readied her bow, taking out one of the aforementioned officers. "I count two more, we should split up and finish them off quickly, while the momentum is in our favour."

Connor nodded, as the two of them rushed across the deck, slicing down any British crew that got in their way, before they simultaneously took down their respective officers, snatching the keys to the lower deck from them, before tossing their body over the rails.

They quickly rushed to the doors to the lower deck, as Koyomi opened the doors, before they rushed down, as they searched the entire lower deck, to find that the man-of-war was barren of Church's stolen supplies.

"...Church didn't store the supplies here." Koyomi noted. "He must have hidden them elsewhere. Which means that if he dies, our lead on the supplies goes cold."

Connor remained silent, before he could hear the sounds of Haytham and Lucina beating Church.

"So here we are, face-to-face at last, my friend. It's been quite an adventure. Let me tell you." Haytham's voice rang through the lower deck. "Working my way through your little tricks and traps. Clever. Some of them anyways, I'll give you credit for that."

"And for the quietude with which you pulled this all off." Lucina stated, before the sound of a head slamming against the wooden floor was heard. "You betrayed Haytham's dream! WE HAD A DREAM, BENJAMIN! One you sought to destroy, and for that… YOU WILL PAY!"

Connor and Koyomi soon opened the doors to see Lucina beating on Church, as Haytham had done so a number of times before, evident from the blood on his fists.

"Enough." Connor would say. "We came here for a reason."

"Aye… but different reasons." Lucina said, getting to her feet as Koyomi walked up to Church, kneeling to him.

"Tell us where you hid those supplies of yours, or your death will not come swiftly and painlessly." Koyomi threatened.

"Go to hell, native slut." Church spat back, as he spewed blood on Koyomi's cheek, as she simply wiped it off.

Koyomi merely procured a bottle of green liquid, as she dipped one of her Hidden Blades into it, before thrusting it right into Benjamin's side, as he screamed, as it increased in intensity, as he was convulsing, as the world faded around them both.

"You're already dead, Church. You just don't know it. The poison I used is one that slowly kills its victims." Koyomi stated. "And does so with great agony. If you want this to end… I suggest you talk fast and true, or there won't be enough of a spirit for you to go to whatever afterlife you will be condemned with."

"On the island yonder, awaiting pick-up. But you've no right to it. It isn't yours." Church gagged, trying to speak clearly with the poison spreading through him.

"Those supplies belong to the people, the men, women and children who fight for a better future of this nation. It is not yours to begin with, thief. They fight because of people who commit this and worse on them." Koyomi retorted back.

"Are these the same men and women who fight with muskets forged from British steel? Who bind their wounds with bandages sewn by British hands. How convenient of them. We do the work, they reap the rewards." Church dryly chuckled.

"Your hypocrisy know no bounds. Who toiled to give you a place to stay here, and then had to suffer from your invasions?" Koyomi answered back with a biting tone. "Do not try to place blame on those who have actually made things for themselves to survive with, while you pilfer their rewards as well. You're not innocent, no matter how you delude yourself so."

"It's all a matter of perspective. There is no single path through life that's right and fair and does no harm. Do you truly think the Crown has no cause? No right to feel betrayed?" Church accused. "You should know better than this, dedicated you are to fighting Templars, who themselves see their work as just. Think on that next time you insist your work alone befits the greater good. Your enemy would beg to differ, and would not be without cause."

As Church spat out those final words, he finally expired from the poison.

"If there is truly justice and fairness in the ways of the Templars, then if we do not see the same conclusion, then let the spirits and the earth be witness to whose ideal is true." Koyomi stated in her native language. "I have chosen this path in accordance to my own ambitions and the village that has seen me grow as a maiden. And I will not be dragged by regret for slaying those who impede it… even if they speak sincere words, although true they might not be."

As Koyomi finished her speech, she soon got a pat on the back from Lucina.

"Good. His passing was a boon to us all." Lucina said. "Come on then. I'm sure you'll need our help retrieving everything from the island."

"If you would aid us. I think that after all of this, I see you two in a far better light, compared to your other brethren, who have done no such things to deserve it." Koyomi answered back. "Come, Ratonhnhaké-ton. We should get those supplies to the Patriots quickly."

"Indeed." Connor said as they went to do so.
