Hey everybird! What's up!?

So this is a short story I thought of focusing on Roberto and Liz, because I feel like I don't touch on that pair as much as I do others, although Lisa and Tiago will play a major part in this story!

So that's pretty much it, I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Breakup?

Along the few mixed pairs in the Amazon rainforest, there were two Blue and Scarlet macaw pairs, one being Lisa and Tiago, and the other being the right wing birds for their tribe leaders, Roberto and Liz. Both of them fit each other well, being highly active and committed to their homes, tough and hardheaded, and well how could they not be perfect for each other? Their bond, starting out with looking past their differences grew into friendship and then love, which manifested one day to having their little daughter, a hybrid chick by the name of Rosalia.

Life was great and the two enjoyed each other's company as well as their daughter, their love just as pure as any other couple. However every couple can eventually have their breaking point and soon enough came the day for Roberto and Liz's point…

One morning Liz and her daughter were just about to start breakfast, Roberto not here as he was on night patrol and well he was just finishing up after a long night, exhausted of course. Roberto has been out more and more lately, while Liz had to stay back at the hollow to look after little Rosy, Liz understood why, Roberto being constantly called by Eduardo, but she felt it was starting to become more burdensome and wished Roberto would spend more time with his family. She felt that Roberto didn't love her the way he used to and started to feel neglected.

"Mommy, when is daddy coming back?" Little Rosy asked her mother.

"I'm sure he'll be back sweetie, your father's very busy with looking after his tribe…" Liz said, wishing Roberto would give the same amount of attention to her and Rosalia.

A couple of minutes passed and Roberto came back, his eyes all heavy and a little red from the lack of proper sleep he has been getting as he landed inside, with a weary smile on as his daughter came up and gave him a hug.

"Daddy, you're home!" Rosalia shouted with joy as she hugged her father, who hugged her back. "I missed you!"

"Missed you too sweetie." Roberto replied as he continued the hug for a few more seconds before going to hug his mate… Not even giving her a kiss…

"I'm sorry this is the fourth night in a row I been out during the night, Eduardo has been asking a lot for my attention." Roberto quickly apologized, not even sounding that sincere, but of course he was very tired right now as he simply picked up a fruit from the breakfast Liz got and took a bite, feeling the fresh juice refreshen him up.

"Are you sure that's it?" Liz questioned with an eye raised.

"Yeah… Why?" Roberto said back, a bit surprised to hear that response.

"I just feel like you're not watching after us as much and I have to worry about little Rosy here by myself lately…" Liz pointed out.

"What are you talking about?" Roberto defending himself. "I care just as much for you two, I make sure there's no dangers around for you and everyone else in our two tribes."

"Do you?" Liz narrowed her eyes. "Because I haven't seen you around our hollow during your patrols at all…" Liz argued back as little Rosy became alert of the tension in the family hollow and took a cautious step back, not getting involved as her parents took their own steps closer and it wasn't to give each other a kiss…

Meanwhile, the other mixed pair of Blue and Scarlet, Lisa and Tiago, were flying towards where Roberto and Liz lived with Rosalia, going for a family visit. The younger pair also having their own little ones in the form of Arthur and Tyler, who were with their Uncle Alex as Lisa and Tiago flew in sync to the other pair. Unlike Roberto and Liz, Lisa and Tiago were opposites from each other, with Tiago being more energetic and Lisa more gentle, but they still loved each other very much and after all, Tiago's own parents Blu and Jewel, were extreme opposites.

"I wonder how Uncle Beto is doing, I heard he's been out a lot during the night on patrols." Tiago said out loud.

"Same with my sister, I hope she has been fine taking care of little Rosy." Lisa added. "Maybe we should ask them if we can do anything for…" Lisa started, but stopped as well they were close to where Roberto and Liz lived, well close enough to hear a shouting match going on as they quickly rushed to the scene.

"What could possibly be going on?" Tiago asked as the pair flew through the hollow entrance, landing on inside as Roberto and Liz were so absorbed with each other that they didn't notice the younger couple fly in.

"I have to sacrifice so much in order to keep us together, don't you get that!?" Liz shouted.

"And what about me!?" Roberto shouted back. "What more do you want from me!?"

"Oh I don't know, how about a mate who actually cares!?" Liz cried back.

"Oh and what about you?" Roberto questioned. "Do my feelings not count!?"

The argument continued back and forth as little Rosy noticed Lisa and Tiago as Lisa waved her wing for the little one to come to her, Rosalia going to her younger auntie as she wrapped up the little girl in her wing. Meanwhile Tiago couldn't stand this anymore and bravely came forth, getting in between the arguing couple and breaking them apart.

"Okay, cut it out you two!" Tiago shouted. "What's wrong?" Tiago calmed down as the shouting stopped and he could speak directly to them.

"She's the one who started it!" Roberto said loudly.

"Only because you're the one who caused it!" Liz shouted back.

"Oh please, everything was fine before you yelled at me." Roberto pointed out.

"Well maybe I should just go back to my parents, to the birds who actually care for me!" Liz cried out.

"Maybe you should!" Roberto shouted back as Liz's heart stopped and well she flew right out of there.

Everyone was speechless and after a minute, Roberto, himself, flew out, leaving the hollow to who knows where, leaving behind Lisa, Tiago, and Rosalia in silence as to what just happened. In fact it was little Rosy who finally spoke up.

"Uncle Tiago, Aunt Lisa, what happened?" The little chick shook in fright at what she just witnessed.

"I just don't know Rosy…" Tiago sighed as he looked at Lisa, who was also just as lost. "Your parents just aren't well enough to be with each other right now, come on, we'll take you back to our place."

"Yeah, I'm sure your cousins would be happy to see you." Lisa added.

"Are you sure auntie?" Rosalia asked, not wanting to be a problem.

"I'm sure sweetie, you can stay with us for however long you need to." Lisa smiled as she loved her niece just as much as she did with her two boys.

Flying back to their own hollow, with little Rosy on her uncle's back, the pair returned to see their boys and their own uncle having a fun time together, playing an indoor game. However all the happiness disappeared when Lisa and Tiago returned with Rosalia, Alex being a little confused as to why they were back so soon.

"Sis, is something wrong?" Alex asked.

"Our sister and Roberto's not on the best of terms right now, they had an argument and we had to bring Rosy here." Lisa said as Alex knew this was an emergency.

"Oh boy, I knew Liz was tough, but not like this…" Alex shaking his head slightly.

"Don't worry, we can take care of it." Tiago confident they could fix the problem.

"You sure?" Alex a little nervous.

"Don't worry big brother, if we need your help, we'll ask." Lisa agreed with Tiago as well they were there to witness the two. "Thanks for looking after the boys, you can go home if you want."

"Okay than, good luck to you two." Alex wished as he hugged his little sister and then a wingshake with Tiago before going to his own hollow, back in the Scarlet tribe.

The day went on as little Rosy spent the time with her two cousins, having fun and taking her mind off her parents' fight while Tiago thought about a plan to bring Roberto and Liz back together. While he was thinking, he saw Lisa just outside the hollow, looking like she was deep in thought. Going outside, he wrapped his wings around Lisa's belly as he brought his head besides his mate's.

"Hey honey." Tiago greeted as he gave Lisa a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey Tiago, you thought of something?" Lisa asked, trying to take her own mind of what she was thinking.

"Yes, I was thinking we let the two cool off a little for today and tomorrow, I'll go see and talk with Uncle Beto while you go talk to your sister." Tiago informing Lisa of his plan. "Then once we both get their points of view, we meet each other and discuss how we're going to bring them back together."

"Sounds good…" Lisa sighed as Tiago still knew there was something wrong with his loved one.

"Is there anything else bothering you?" Tiago asked sweetly.

"Seeing my sister and Roberto today…" Lisa took a deep breath before continuing. "What if that happens to us too…" Lisa finally getting out.

"Hey, trust me, it's not going to happen." Tiago promised. "I made a vow to love you no matter what and I intend to keep it that way forever." Tiago said in his most reassuring tone as he held onto Lisa a little tighter to show he meant it.

"Thank you Tiago." Lisa finally smiled as Tiago bent down for a beak to beak kiss, the pair holding it for a couple of minutes before separating.

"You're welcome." Tiago replied. "Now lets go back inside."

And the couple went back inside the hollow and as night fell and they put their boys and little Rosy to bed, the two went to sleep themselves in each other's hold, hoping that tomorrow would bring positive results.

And I'll leave this first chapter here! Hope you enjoyed and with that…
