I don't own anything.
Clark Kent would never be one for paranoia, he'd seen more than once with Bruce how bad a road it could lead towards. He would, however, admit to being more than a little cautious when it came to the safety and well being of his family. Even more so when it involved being stranded on an Earth that was entirely different than the one they had come from, lacking cities, locations, even organizations and groups of heroes he might have fallen back on.
So it would go without saying that meeting with the, in his sons own words, "Superman" of this Earth, was a pretty large leap from just staying in the shadows and helping out on a more grounded level.
Omni-man as he was called.
He looked friendly enough, about his height, similar in terms of build to himself with the biggest difference being the white hair on the side of his head, his older looks, and his moustache.
But beyond that, Clark was certain he'd be a dead ringer for some long-lost member of the House of El that survived Kryptons destruction.
If he wasn't from another universe that is.
"So you're stranded here, on this Earth, with no way to get back to your own Earth?" He spoke, his tone even and collected but nonetheless welcoming "We've dealt with similar enough situations, if I made a few calls we could work on getting you back to your home universe."
Well that spoke well of his character at least.
"Thanks but I've already taken a look at what your Earth has in regards to inter-dimensional travel." Omni-Man gave him a strange look just then, not entirely sure if Clarks statement should have alerted him or not "Sorry, X-ray vision and super-speed plus more than a little anxiousness doesn't have me sitting around waiting for the answer to just show itself. Promise I didn't do anything more than peek. That aside, its impressive stuff much more refined and streamlined than most of our projects."
That last bit seemed to get a smile out of him, which was good.
"Well glad we're not lagging behind where it counts." said Omni-man as he looked Clark over once more "So then why make the effort of coming out at all? Far as I and everyone else was concerned, you didn't even exist until right now."
That was the big question wasn't it, and truth be told, Clark didn't really want to answer.
Not so much because he felt as though he couldn't trust Omni-man, the reality of the situation rendered that a moot factor.
Rather he didn't want to consider the possibility that he, Lois, and Jon might not ever be going back home.
"Hiding was never my strongest skill. My Ma and Pa would always tell me that much." he started, recalling brieg memories of childhood "I think eventually I would have been found, and I can't imagine your Earth would take too kindly to someone like me coming and going as I pleased without some kind of explanation."
"I don't know about."
There was a softened, warm look in Omni-mans eye just then "They treated well enough when I first showed up."
This eased some of the anxiousness he was feeling, perhaps feeling a bit of his tension ease up at this fact.
"Then I've misjudged your planets hospitality." Clark joked "In either case, I figure its best if I meet you to help smooth things over before I step out once and for all."
The warmth suddenly faded, replaced inside with the steely blue gaze.
Perhaps the realization of what Clark was saying had sunk in?
"You're not going to look for a way home?" It seemed odd to admit it to himself, but Jon had already spent more time on this Earth than the one he and Lois had lived on.
"Its more fair to say that until I can find a way home, I'm going to treat this Earth as much as a home as where I come from." He declared, causing Omni-man to cup his chin in thought.
After a moment, he spoke.
"Well, I can tell you Cecil will show up at your front door before too much time. Always a bother that one, but his hearts in the right place." He floated upward, kicking some gray dirt into space as he did "Oh and some advice, I'd maybe look for something a bit more colorful. Black doesn't strike me as your color. I know a guy as a matter of fact, best in the business."
He'd taken to wearing his black solar suit in the time following their arrival to this Earth, but Omni-Man was right, black was most certainly not his color.
"Thanks but I already have something set aside." he said a raising a hand.
"Then I guess I'll be seeing you." however just before he cleared the space around them he looked back once more "Almost forgot to ask, but what will I tell everyone your name is?"
Clark smiled, himself pushing off of the gray surface of the moon.
"Superman." he said with a smile, before rocketing off back towards the blue planet he would soon call home.
