Jelly-Filled Donuts from Kanto

Summary:
Ash sees jelly-filled donuts. Goh sees rice balls. Is there a devilish intelligence at work here?
"So good!"
"Sure is!"
"I think this ramen shop has the best food we've ever tasted!"
Goh set down his spoon and chopsticks. He didn't catch any Ice Pokémon, but a bowl of hot ramen balanced most of his disappointment out.
"You know what I could really go for? Jelly-filled donuts!" Ash declared.
"Jelly donuts?"
"Yeah! My friend Brock used to make them all the time! May we please have an order, mister?"
"Got it!" The chef whipped around with the Trainer's order so fast he deserved a five-star review.
"Ash, those are rice balls!"
"Nuh-uh! They're obviously jelly-filled donuts, Goh! Just feast your eyes on them!" Ash whiffed. "Don't feast on all of them, though! Pikachu loves them too!"
"Pikapika!"
"That's okay. I'll order a separate dessert. Do you have suama, sir?"
"Suama? What's that? Is it a jelly-filled donut too?"
"It's a type of cake, Ash. I'm shocked you haven't heard of it! It's a specialty of the Kanto region!"
"If they're both desserts, how different could they be?"
"Completely different!" Goh balked at Ash's response.
Ash was as confused as the Psyduck belonging to the guy sitting next to them! Suama and donuts? Not the same!
And for that matter, donuts and rice balls? TOTALLY NOT THE SAME!
It was important to repeat: The snacks Ash and Pikachu were eating weren't donuts! They were rice balls!
Goh felt a disturbance in the air. Like an invisible Shadow Force preparing to strike should they say words not readily understandable for kids.
Neither Pikachu nor Ash sensed what Goh sensed.
It couldn't be Psyduck's psychic power…
"What did you call these? Suama?"
"THEY'RE JELLY DONUTS, SATO – UH, I MEAN ASH!" Goh choked out. Hopefully, he demonstrated he hadn't overstayed his welcome.
"I knew it!" Ash and Pikachu stuffed the pink-and-white sweets into their mouths.
