"You're in love with my mum," Harry murmured, staring straight at Sirius's gobsmacked face.

"Whaaa—"

"You're a terrible liar. I've seen the way you look at her. Like she's your sun, moon, and world," Harry said with a small smile. He placed his hand on Sirius's shoulder and murmured, "Why don't you tell her?"

"I… couldn't do that to your dad," Sirius whispered, not bothering to lie to his godson. He shook his head and continued, "Besides, your mum loves him too much to ever think of me that way."

"But Dad isn't here," Harry pointed out, and Sirius's breath hitched. Harry went on without hesitation, "Mum's really lonely, you know… I'm sure Dad wouldn't mind if she moved on with you. Also, it's been almost twenty years since Dad died. I know he would have wanted you both to be happy."

"That's all great, Harry, but your mum would never see me that way. I'm just not right for her."

"Why don't you write her a song?"

"Wh-What?" Sirius stopped breathing at Harry's suggestion.

"I've heard you singing in the shower," Harry said with a roll of his eyes. "Sure, most of the time you just sing Disney songs, but you could sing her a song you wrote yourself like, I don't know… the one hidden in the treasure chest in the attic?"

"You little shit… You went through my stuff?" Sirius cried, not knowing whether he should be amused that Harry was becoming a true Marauder or annoyed that Harry knew how much he loved Lily.

"It was right there! Don't blame me!" Harry raised his hands defensively. "So… will you do it?"

Sirius's heart was in his throat as he thought of what to do next. Harry's eyes were full of desperate hope, and Sirius knew he just wanted them both to be happy. So, he sighed and nodded. "Fine, I'll… I'll sing her the song."

"Great! How about you take her to dinner first and then—"

"Woah, hold up! I said I would sing her the song—I didn't say I would take her out on a date."

"You don't mean to say you won't court her properly first, right, Uncle Pads? That would just be ungentlemanly of you!" Harry's eyes shone with mischief, and Sirius reached over to smack Harry's arm. Harry laughed and said, "Come on, I'll help you get the woman of your dreams to finally pay attention to you."

Sirius muttered, "I can't believe I'm getting love advice from my own godson. What has my life come to?"

"Stopped my heart from fifty feet," Sirius crooned in his toothbrush, pretending he was singing to Lily. "It pumped and sang and skipped a beat. And when I sleep, my soul you keep."

He jumped onto his bed and sang louder, "I wish for you to be happy, I wish for you to be free. I wish for you to be fearless, that's wishes one, two, and three!"

Unbeknownst to him, Harry was hiding underneath his Invisibility Cloak with a Muggle video camera in his hand. He remained silent as Sirius continued to sing, "And I won't wish to be yours, or for you to be mine, but I wish them all for you every time."

Harry quietly snuck out of the room, knowing he needed to show the video to his mum soon. Sirius had, unfortunately, backed out at the last minute, claiming he didn't want to ruin a perfectly good friendship between him and Lily. Harry, on the other hand, was determined to get them together.

He would move heaven and earth for his two most favourite people; there was nothing he wouldn't do for them.

"Uncle Pads wrote you a song, Mum," Harry said innocently, holding out the video camera towards her.

His mum stood in the kitchen, chopping onions. She sniffled as she waved him away, muttering, "It's probably a cruder version of 'You've got a friend in me.' I'll listen to it later."

Harry snickered at the double innuendo before realising what the song would mean, and he gagged. He shook his head to dispel the image and said loudly, "But, Mum, he actually wrote it for you. Come on, please."

"If he wrote it for me, then why is he not here to make me listen to it?" Lily rolled her eyes and wiped away the tears streaming down her face. "Merlin, these onions are fucking with my emotions!"

Harry laughed at the swear. His mum often ended up cursing inanimate objects in her annoyance; she claimed it was Sirius's bad influence on her, but everyone knew Lily Evans Potter had always had a very dirty mouth.

"Just listen to it, please," Harry said, turning on the video camera and placing it on the kitchen counter.

Lily rolled her eyes and was about to turn away when the first few lyrics echoed around the small kitchen. She stopped in her tracks and stared at the slightly blurry image of Sirius singing in his room. The song continued to play, and more tears streamed down Lily's face, but Harry had a feeling these weren't caused by the onions.

Once the song was over, Lily wiped away her tears and whispered in a choked-up voice, "Damn these fucking onions."

The next time Harry saw his mum and Uncle Pads, he couldn't help but hide in the corner of the room and give himself a self-five.

Sirius and Lily danced in the living room as Sirius sang the song he'd written for her. The brilliant smile on Lily's face lit up the room, and Harry mentally patted himself on the back for a job well done.

Sirius caught sight of him, and before Harry could escape, Sirius mouthed, "Thank you."

Harry grinned and gave him a thumbs-up before hesitating for a second. He made a crude gesture with his hands, which made Sirius's face reddened with embarrassment. Harry snickered under his breath and ran out of there before Sirius could hex him.
