1960s
Wanda's world seemed back to normal. Well as normal as it already was. She was still reeling over what happened last night. Was it a dream? Was it real? Are they really in Westview? It felt so real. She could taste her own fear.
She needed time to cool off. She road her bike around the neighborhood. The fresh air was helping a thousand percent. She felt like everything about the world was melting away. She closes her eyes as she gets lost in the wind before she hears someone clearing their throat. Her eyes spring open and she slams on her breaks almost completely face planting. It was Agnes. She had a huge grin on her face. She is carrying a basket full of cookies.
"Hello neighbor." Agnes says over enthusiastically.
"Hello Agnes." Wanda replied back as she feels something odd strike her. She knew something was wrong with Agnes. She knew that she wasn't exactly who she said she was but she wasn't going to dwell on it, especially after last night. She was playing nice so Wanda would do the same.
"Where are you headed?" Wanda asked. She was trying to sound interested but her thoughts were clearly elsewhere.
"Oh." Agnes laughed as if she forgot she was going anywhere, "I'm headed to committee meeting." Wanda had heard about this. There was a talent show. It was for the neighborhood. Vision has wanted to do a magic act and thinking about it, it is ironic since Wanda is a magical girl.
"Yes, I should go as well." Wanda says as Agnes points down the street. Wanda gets off her bike walking it as Agnes follows beside her.
"So what do you two plan on doing for the talent show?" Agnes wonders.
"Magic." Wanda says while Agnes' grin turned a little wicked as Wanda has answered.
Meanwhile Vision sat at a neighborhood watch meeting, which really wasn't much of a meeting in the first place.
"So Vision ole pal, how are you liking Westview?" Norm asks as Vision nods.
"It is like no place I've lived before." Vision answers as he tries to remember before. Before Westview was a blur. A smear on a chalk board like mind. He pushed himself but it was no use. The gem in his head began to burn. He could feel it and it was flowing through his skin. He could tell because everyone was starring at him.
He snaps out of it and clears his throat as he gathers himself. He felt utterly embarrassed and nervous.
"Want some gum?" Herb asks holding his pack out. Vision takes it. He puts it in his mouth and begins to chew but it slips down his throat. It travels down to his gears. It tangles itself up in them. He begins to cough as his gem glows again. He continues to cough as he seems to black out.
He wakes up in a coffin with a glass ceiling. He hears muffled voices. He bursts out and lands on the end of the coffin. He was in a lab. Thor, Banner, Stark, Rogers, Pietro, they all stood around. They look frozen in time. Suddenly he hears weeping.
He looks toward the window. Floating there looks like Wanda in a hooded cloak. The bottom of it moving in an unseen breeze.
He flies toward her stopping. Tears are just streaming down off of her chin. She is looking outward. He looks with her. He sees what appears to be Westview. It is in chaos. People are screaming. Some pulling at their hair. Others cried. Some banged their palms in their foreheads.
"They are trying to shut me out." Wanda says as Vision looks confused, "I just couldn't feel the pain anymore. I wanted my old life back. I wanted everything back the way it was. The way it should be." Wanda clenches her fists as purple spheres begins to wrap themselves around her hands.
"I just want it all to stop!" Wanda screams as everything shatters until it is just her and him standing in pitch black. She is trembling. She is holding herself tight. She shakes her head as she slowly fades away in her place is Vision but it wasn't him.
He was broken. The stone missing from his head. His body falling apart. He picked up his hand and the broken one does the same. He tilts his head and it follows but as he does the broken one's head falls off and rolls on the ground to his feet. He bends down picking it up. He looks at it. They lock eyes as the head blinks.
Vision freaks out and drops the head. He is terrified. He begins to cough as he comes back to reality. He is hitting his chest repeatedly. All the men look at him. Everything seems back to normal.
"I swallowed it." Vision says as everyone laughs and as the gum gets more wrapped up. It is like he has become drunk.
At the committee meeting, Wanda got herself back together. She rubs her neck. She blinks her eyes a couple times.
"You alright, sweetheart?" A southern voice comes beside her as she looks over at Geraldine. Wanda smiles nodding her head.
"I just have a catch in my neck." Wanda answers.
"Uh hmmm." Dottie interrupts them as Wanda and Geraldine look as Dottie looks clearly annoyed.
"You two done talking?" Dottie wonders as they both nod. Dottie goes back to talking as Geraldine leans over.
"The name is Geraldine." She says as Wanda cracks a smile.
"Wanda." Wanda says to her.
"Wanda. Great you volunteer to clean up." Dottie says as Wanda looks at her but can't form words.
"I'll help." Geraldine says as Dottie shakes her head.
"No it's fine, Wanda can do it. Right Wanda?" Dottie has a fake smile on her face.
"Of course." Wanda answers. She knew girls like Dottie. They were rude. Popular in high school and now has a rich husband. They never had to worry about a thing.
Everyone leaves as Agnes was watching the whole interaction between Geraldine and Wanda with an odd stare.
Wanda begins to clean up as she begins to him a little to herself. Dottie is helping some what as well but she stops to pour herself a glass of champagne.
Wanda realizes she is humming to the song on the little radio in the corner. She stares at it as the music has stopped. She has a glass in her hand. It has become static. Wanda stares at it. She cocks an eyebrow.
"Wanda...Wanda... who is doing this to you, Wanda?" The voice on the radio asks as Dottie's glass breaks in her hand and the radio is turned to another station.
Wanda comes back to reality as she grabs a hold of a couple paper towels and cleans up Dottie's hand. She looks at the bright crimson blood on the paper towels and remembers the voice. Such a familiar voice.
Wanda lets out a sigh and just leaves. Dottie watches her unable to say anything. She just watches her leave. Wanda got back on her bike and sprinted home. She put her magician's uniform on and gets her cabinet.
She takes it all to the stage. She begins to pace back and forth as the show started and people began to go on one after another. She was thinking about the blood. The blood and the voice. She picks at her fingernail as she continues to pace.
"Honey!!!" Vision is heard coming up the stairs almost falling with each step.
"There you are..." Wanda says looking him up and down, "What is wrong with you?" Vision laughs as Geraldine comes up to them.
"Ready to go on?" She asks. Vision grabs the box and before Wanda can protest he makes his way onto the stage. Wanda follows quickly.
Vision wasn't caring. He is showing everyone what he can do and Wanda is having to make it look like cheap cheesy magic. It was hard keeping up with him but she had to. The show ended and Wanda realizes what is wrong. She feels the gum trapped in his gears. She raises her hand and pulls it out throwing it far away. Vision was back to his old self.
He wanted to ask her so many questions but Geraldine called all the acts back to the stage. Wanda and Vision won which was just a cheap little trophy but none the less.
After the show, Wanda puts the trophy on the mantle as she looks at it. She takes her hat off. Vision stares at her. He sees her in front of the window once again. The town of Westview in pain.
"Wanda..." He tries to start a conversation as something hits the side of the house. They are both confused. The leave the house as Wanda looks down to see a toy airplane has crashed into the house. It has a sword emblem on it and it is as red as Dottie's blood.
Then another noise causes her to look toward the road. She goes to it with Vision. The two watch as a man hole cover is opened and a bee keeper comes out with bees around him. Wanda cocks an eyebrow.
"No." She says moving her hands and time reverses back to when they got back home and Wanda was putting the trophy up. Vision felt discombobulated. He looks at her and then the door.
"Wanda..." He tries again as she runs toward him. She kisses him passionately.
