Escape
"Let's open him up. But don't hurt him. I promised his mother to protect him if anything happened to her." Talos' voice spoke, echoing.
"I can't believe what those butchers did to him." A soft female voice uttered, sounding heartbroken.
A hangar opened up with a figure heading out towards some jets. He was wearing a fighter pilot jumpsuit, carrying a bag. Harold 'Harry' Lawson also wore aviators, looking at all the fighter jets.
"Where are we?" Talos questioned.
"Standby." A male voice replied.
Harry then stopped as he watched the sky and the sunset, unaware of a woman with dark brown skin, short dark hair and also wore aviators and a fighter pilot jumpsuit.
"Where's your head at?" She asked him as the two were best friends ever since they first met.
"In the clouds. You?" Harry chuckled in amusement as the pair walked on.
"On my shoulders. About to show all these boys how we do it. You ready?" She asked.
"Of course. High, fast and deadly." Harry grinned.
"That's right." His friend chuckled.
Then there's flashes of Harry, stroking a jet, then climbing aboard before looking over to his friend, already onboard of her own jet and they nodded to each other, making hand signs. And surprisingly, his friend at first had blue skin but as the glass came down, her skin was back to normal, taking Harry aback.
"That ain't right. Something's wrong." The female voice said.
Their jets then took off.
"You're right, Xarill. Go back even further." Talos said.
The image then shifted to show a young boy running around in a forest, laughing as he ran from a ginger cat, pretending it was a monster.
"You're not gonna get me, Goose." The boy, a younger Harry said to the cat, which meowed as it leaped at his back and the sudden gesture caused Harry to jump and fall face first and groan playfully.
"Okay. You got me, you little ginger menace." Harry laughed as he turned onto his back and scratched and stroked the cat, making it purr and meow in satisfaction.
"Harry! Time for dinner!" A female voice called out from somewhere in the forest, Harry looking over in the direction to see part of the home he lives in.
"Coming, mom! Let's go, Goose." Harry said, getting up on his feet and he and the cat ran back towards the house.
"How sweet." Xarill said softly, finding the moment so lovely.
"Let's move forward a bit." Talos requested.
Things shifted once more and this time, a teenage Harry was in high school, walking in the busy hallway and then he noticed a younger student getting bullied by being slammed up against the lockers.
"Hey! Leave him alone!" He barked at the bullies, who looked over to him and laughed.
"Or what, loser? You gonna teach us a lesson?" One of the bullies teased, which made Harry storm up to him and punch him across the face, which started a fight that ended when Harry got punched in the face, making him fall on his back, causing a flash of blue energy, fire and dirt to be shown.
"You're nothing." One of the bullies spat, looking down at him.
"I'm starting to get confused." Talos said.
Harry's fist clenched, forming cosmic energy before the scene changed to Harry sitting on a sofa, head hanging in shame as a woman stood in front of him.
"What have I told you about getting into fights?" The woman asked in a stern tone.
"But they were bullying someone." He argued.
"That still doesn't excuse punching them. You'll now be a target." The woman retorted.
"But they called me a loser and that I'm nothing!" Harry barked back.
"You can't let your emotions cloud your judgement!" The woman barked louder than him.
"So you want me to be a coward!" He shouted, looking up at her.
"NO! I'm just warning you to pick your fights better!" The woman advised him before the scene changed to Harry, now an adult, having fun in a bar, playing pool, doing karaoke and then it shifted to a Harry as a young child stargazing with his mom.
"...and so they fought back, tired of living under their rule and have fought against them for nearly a thousand years." She was telling him a story as they laid on grass, looking up at the stars.
"Are they real, mom? Are the Skrulls and Kree real?" Harry questioned.
"*chuckles* Perhaps all that matters is what you believe in." His mom told him right before a shooting star zoomed through the night sky.
"Well, if they're real, I wish to save the Skrulls and maybe fall in love with one myself." Harry wished.
"*laughs tenderly* How specific." His mom remarked.
"Aww." Xarill said, sounding both amused and delighted of what Harry wished.
"That is so charming." Talos noted.
"Hold on. I think I've got it." A male voice said.
The image changed to Harry leaning against a car with the same ginger cat from before by her feet as she watched jets fly in the clear sky. He then leaned down and scratched the cat by the ear.
"There you go, girl." He grinned upon hearing purrs coming from the cat.
"Still fond of Goose, I see." The woman with light hair and green eyes said with a fond smile, walking up to Harry.
"You know I like the little ginger menace. Early morning?" Harry remarked.
"Uh, late night, actually. I can't sleep when there's work to do. Sound familiar?" The woman asked.
"At least flying your planes doesn't feel like work, mom." Harry said and his mom chuckled before looking out at the view that her son was looking out on of the rocky hills.
"Wonderful view, isn't it?" She asked.
"I slightly prefer the view from up in the sky." Harry said, nodding up to the sky.
"Don't worry. You'll get there soon enough." She said with a grin before heading off elsewhere.
"Wait! That's her! Get her back!" Xarill shouted.
"Stand by." The male voice replied.
They repeated the moment again and kept their eyes on all the details.
"What's that on her shirt? I couldn't read it." Talos said.
Due to this, they repeated the moment once more.
"Focus." Talos said.
"Excuse me?" Harry said, not hearing his mom's voice.
"Look down." Xarill softly instructed him.
Harry looked down at his mom's name tag that had a symbol on it.
"Pegasus. Dr. Wendy Lawson. That's her." Talos said with satisfaction.
"Hey are you alright?" Lawson asked her son, who looked confused.
"I could swear I'm hearing something." He said.
"Do we have her location?" Xarill asked.
Then flashes of blue energy showed as Harry looked around in confusion.
"Got it." A male voice said.
A flash of a jet formed.
"Now track Lawson until we find the energy source." Xarill said.
The moment then distorted to Lawson standing over Harry with a gun in her hand.
"Interesting. Huh. Hold on." Talos said.
A Skrull then appeared through the smoke.
"Go back right before this. Go back." Talos ordered.
The Skrull aimed a gun and it was glowing up.
The glow woke Harry up as he was in the cockpit of a ship that he was piloting, up in Earth's orbit, being chased.
"What the hell is that? That ain't a MiG." He said, maneuvering the jet, avoiding the shots from the ship chasing him.
"This is it. Now let me see where you're headed." Xarill said.
Harry looked at the console in front of him, out of focus, slightly because of the G-forces pressing up against him.
"That's it. Look at the coordinates. Come on, you can do it." Xarill said softly.
These words had Harry put much more focus on the coordinates, which started to get into focus, but as he tries to focus on them, he gets flashes that distracted him and gave him a headache and it was all too much and he ejected out of the jet.
"No! Get him back! Get him back now!" Xarill shouted in desperation.
Harry got back into the jet but then he opened his eyes and he was now awake. He felt blood rushing to his head and saw beings upside down, meaning that he was hanging upside down on a contraption that held up from the legs and he was locked into place with two tendrils of purple coloured electricity connecting to the sides of his head.
"This doesn't make sense." Xarill spoke with Talos and another Skrull, whose voices were indistinct as Rold focused on them as they stood in front of a monitor showing moments that Rold didn't know or remember at all.
"Do we have any information we can act on?" Talos asked others among them.
"Just that Lawson was somewhere on planet C-53 with her son. We're on our way." One Skrull explained as he pulled out a purple crystal.
"Then dig, dig, dig deeper. Lawson is our link to that light speed engine! And everything we're after." Talos reminded everyone before turning to Xarill, who stood, wrapping her arms around herself,
"I'm scared of what they did to him." She said to her brother.
"Don't worry. He'll remember who he was." He assured her with a hand on her shoulder. Rold was getting more and more frustrated and had to get out of his imprisonment. So as a Skrull checked on something, he started to heat up the restraints on his hands and they started glowing from the heat as he pretended he was still blacked out. The Skrull then poked him on the forehead, which caused something on the monitors.
"Oh! That did something. Try that again." Talos pointed out. The Skrull then poked Rold's forehead again, but then he saw his restraints glowing and now starting to melt. His right hand was then able to pull out and he swung at the Skrull's head, then he smashed his other restraint on his hand and then the ones on his feet and he landed on his knees, though still having cylinders covering his hands.
"Oh, no." Xarill muttered before Rold roared as he got up on his feet and started beating up a whole bunch of Skrulls with a cold fury, punching them so hard that bones were broken and they started bleeding. He then looked at both Talos and Xarill and pinned them both down on the console.
"What did you do to me?" He hissed right into Talos' face.
"Just a bit of information, Lawson." He answered, which made Rold put more pressure on his neck.
"Shut up! I'm not Lawson. What did you put into my head?!" He requested an answer.
"Those were already in your head." Xarill said, trying to make him calm down.
"Those aren't my memories." Rold spat at her.
"Yeah, it's like a bad trip, isn't it? I'm not surprised you can't keep it straight. They really did a number on you." Talos said.
"Stop with the mind games. What do you want?" Rold questioned them, his cylinders, crackling from the heat.
"*grunting* We're trying to find the location of Dr. Lawson and her light speed engine." Xarill answered this time.
"I don't know this Dr. Lawson." Rold snarled.
"Really? Then why does she keep popping up in your head? Why do you not remember your mother?" Talos questioned him, making Rold too stunned to say anything upon hearing those words. Before he could do anything else, he heard footsteps running up behind him so he turned to see a Skrull charge towards him and then some more came in. He kicked Xarill to the side and then threw Talos at the Skrulls, though one dodged and kept charging at him, though Rold kicked right in the face. He then shoved right up to another, throwing him back with his super strength and then he ran out into the corridors.
He turned left and saw some Skrulls running towards him. He tried to blast the restraints off but they were just too thick to come off and so Rold ran away, being chased by the Skrulls. One Skrull ran up to Rold but he just threw him hard against the wall and then he stopped around the corner as four Skrulls stopped him from continuing forward. He turned back but the Skrulls that chased him blocked him.
"Great. You wouldn't happen to know how to get these things off, right?" He asked them all. They all didn't reply.
"Okay, then." He then said before facing two Skrulls at once, deflecting one and punching the other in the face, throwing him against the wall.
He then blocked a third that tried to hit him with a weapon and punched him in the gut, throwing into a wall as well. Then he kicked the one from before, sliding on the floor.
One Skrull managed to punch Rold in the face and growled at him.
"Oh, shut up!" Rold spat before punching down to the ground and then punched the next one in front of him, making him fall on his back. But then another Skrull came up behind him and shocked him, pissing him off even more and so he swung a hard punch at him, throwing him back at a couple of other Skrulls and then he went on a barrage of punches and kicks on a few more Skrulls and then with the last one standing, he made the Skrull fall onto his shock stick, knocking him out.
"Time to move on." Rold muttered to himself before he ran down a corridor and towards a door. Since his hands are restrained and his boots were missing, he used one of his feet on the switch to open the door but when it slid open, a large and tall Skrull stepped out.
Rold threw a few punches but they didn't phase the Skrull and he just swung his shock stick that Rold blocked with his restraints but then two more came in and shocked Rold on his sides, making him weak slightly and with a punch to the face, he fell on his back.
He crawled back, trying to blast them but all he got was puffs of smoke but then he powered up his hands and eventually, the restraints blew apart as the blasts of cosmic energy shot out of his hands, kicking him back as the Skrulls took the blasts, being thrown up in the air.
He then got up and faced more Skrulls but then they all ran out in fear. Rold was confused until he heard crackling behind and turned to see the wall break apart and then a hole exploded, sucking air out into space. Rold had to hold onto a bar to make sure he didn't shoot out into space as he watched the Skrulls all fly out into space. He then formed his helmet and mask, struggling to hold on and spotting a door struggling to close. Knowing that his cosmic blasts have a kick, he fired a blast with his right hand and he flew through the door right as it closed and he landed on the floor.
"That was close." He sighed in relief before getting back on his feet and ran until he saw the room he was held up in. He deactivated his helmet and saw two smaller Skrull on the console.
"Oi!" He shouted at them. They turned and held their hands up, not wanting to fight. He stepped towards his boots and put them on within seconds and shot a blast at the monitor, destroying it as he left.
He ran down some more corridors until he came across some Skrulls running into some escape pods. He ran up to one as one pod took off, pulling the Skrull out. Rold then activated the controls when suddenly a shot fried part of the console. He turned to Talos and Xarill with their handguns pointed at him.
"Leaving so soon?" Talos asked.
"Please, we're just trying to help you." Xarill tried to reason with Rold.
"Keep back!" Rold warned them, aiming his hand at them, charging up energy as it was glowing.
"We swear, we're trying to help you as a promise to your mother." Xarill tried once more to reason with him.
"STOP LYING TO ME!" Rold bellowed out, not wanting to believe a word they're telling him before firing out a blast, making the two duck down. Rold then closed up the pod and pressed a button, shooting him out of the ship as part of it exploded.
Rold descended down to the planet below and as he reached the planet's atmosphere, the controls in front of him started malfunctioning and the glass screens started cracking, the pod all falling apart until Rold found himself falling in the sky, spinning out of control until he crashed through the roof of a building.
Inside, Rold was groaning in slight pain as he got up on his feet, looking at a flickering light at first before looking around the building he was in and got confused by what he was looking at. There were shelves that all held up all these items that had images and words on them, which confused him slightly, mainly because he had a nagging feeling like he's seen these before.
Rold walked out of the building, looking up at the night sky and then looking around at the various buildings and even the sign of the one he exited that said 'Blockbuster Video'.
He then saw a vehicle in front of him called a car and saw someone in it so he walked up to the car and his attire showed that he was a security officer, who looked a bit stunned and shocked upon looking at him. Rold tapped on the window and the officer lowered it, allowing pop music to be heard.
"Hi, I'm Rold. Is this C-53, or Earth as you call it?" He asked the officer, who just stared at him oddly.
"Can you not understand me?" Rold asked in confusion.
"Yeah. I can understand you." The officer said.
"Alright. Are you in charge of the security of this district?" Rold then asked him.
"Sort of. Uh, the movie theatre has its own guy." The officer answered. While the answer confused Rold slightly, he moved on from that.
"Do you know where I can find some communications equipment?" He now asked. The officer then pointed off to Rold's left at a place called 'Radio Shack'.
"Thanks." He said before walking off towards the building.
Now as to who would portray Xarill, I decided on Connie Nielson mainly because I loved her in Gladiator and in the DCEU.
