Epilogue
Now that everyone has saved the Skrull refugees and that the Kree threat has left Earth, everyone gathered back together and arrived back at Maria's home, having a nice celebration.
Monica was playing Uno with Talos' daughter on the stairs with Goose lying next to them as the adults sat around the dining table, having dinner.
"You're telling me you got in possibly the most rad dogfight ever and I missed it?" Harry asked Maria, sitting next to Xarill, holding hands.
"I'd say you arrived just in time." She replied.
"Some nifty flying you did out there. S.H.I.E.L.D. could always use a good pilot like you." Fury suggested. Harry was surprised to see what happened to his eye until Xarill and Maria explained what he was doing with Goose, which he felt he deserved.
"I'll consider it as long as you never call my flying 'nifty' again. How's your eye?" Maria retorted.
"Hmm. Getting better every second." He replied, grazing the scratch marks.
"So, just for clearance, you were Soh-Larr and you both were those S.H.I.E.L.D. agents?" Harry asked both Talos and Xarill, both looking slightly timid.
"Keller and Monaghan. They tied up my bosses and stole their identities." Fury retorted.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. We just borrowed their likeness, okay? We're not thieves." Xarill tried to convince him otherwise.
"It's a little like stealing." Soren said, stunning both siblings and Harry snorted in amusement.
"Whose side are you on here?" Talos questioned her with a playful tone as Soren shrugged her shoulders.
"You're good to go here until you recover, but you and your family are gonna need a new look." Fury explained to them all.
"You know… we could go back to being your bosses." Xarill pointed out, looking like she was coming up with a scheme.
"Uh, please don't." Fury shook his head.
"Come on. I loved sporting his beautiful blue eyes." Talos said.
"And I loved her hair as well." Xarill said fondly.
"No way. You guys have the best eyes. Don't ever change your eyes." Monica said, saying to all of the Skrull family, bonding with the daughter especially.
"She has beautiful eyes. That's very sweet of you." Talos thanked the little girl.
"You know, I'll help you and your people find a home. And finish what my mom started." Harry then promised the Skrulls, the last part, looking at Xarill and squeezing her hand slightly, making them smile gratefully at him.
"They can stay with us. Can't they, mom?" Monica asked, walking up to her mom.
"They won't be safe here, baby. Uncle Harry's right. They need their own home." Maria said, pulling up her daughter onto her lap.
"I'll make sure to come back as soon as possible." He assured Monica as Talos' daughter had joined with her parents.
"Or maybe I could fly up and meet you halfway?" She asked.
"Ah, only if you learn to glow like your Uncle Harry." Fury joked.
"Or maybe I'll build a spaceship. You don't know." She retorted.
"You're right. He doesn't." Harry joked along with her, making Fury look over at him and he just laughed.
After dinner, Harry decided to wash up by himself, and as he was cleaning up a plate, Goose got up on the worktop.
"Alright, Goose. Can you spit out the Tesseract for me, please?" He asked the Flerken, who then gagged up and spat out the Tesseract, covered in goop.
"Good girl." He praised, scratching her ear before cleaning it up with water and a flannel and then put it to the side.
"Can I help you clean up?" Fury asked.
"Sure." And so, Fury joined in and the washing up got faster.
"I want you to keep the Tesseract safe on Earth and hide it." Harry then requested.
"You sure that's what your mother would want?" He asked back.
"I don't know exactly, but I want to make sure it would be out of Kree hands. You can do that, right?" Harry asked.
"Sure." The agent nodded. Harry then pulled out a reworked and modified pager that had his symbol on it and handed it over to Fury.
"I thought I'd upgrade it. Its range would go as far as a couple of galaxies, at minimum. And for emergencies only." He told the agent, who was impressed with its range and took it.
"*chuckles* Well… if you're ever passing back through this galaxy, be sure to give a brother a shout." He said to Harry and they did a fist bump, accidentally sparking Fury.
Once they finished washing up, Harry met back up with Xarill with a smile and two held hands.
"So… do you still want to give this relationship a shot?" He asked her.
"*giggles* Of course. You helped save my people and reunited my brother with his family. I couldn't thank you enough." She said before she leaned in and planted her lips on his. Initially surprised, Harry kissed back and couldn't help but think of how soft and tender it was and after several seconds, they parted and looked at each other lovingly.
"First kiss?" Harry asked.
"Never had time for a relationship till now. You?" She nodded.
"Same here. Just waited for the right woman. Didn't expect it to be a green shapeshifting alien." Harry remarked, making Xarill laugh before the two kissed again until they heard someone clearing their throat, turning to see Talos with an amused smirk.
"I see you two have gotten closer." He stated.
"Uh, well-"
"Don't worry, I'm not going to break you two apart. My sister was bound to be with someone and you're good for her, Harry." Talos cut them off, giving them permission to be together and walked off as the new couple let out a collective sigh of relief.
Monica walked out of the house with Harry's jacket in her arms, walking up to him and Maria. She then handed the jacket to him.
"We got the ketchup stain off." She told him as he put the jacket on over his uniform, seeing that it still fit.
"Thanks, Lieutenant Trouble." He said, giving her a nice little hug. He then looked at Maria and the two both had the same thought as Maria's eyes were welling up.
"It's just as hard for me to say goodbye, as well." Harry said, opening his arms and Maria joined in on the hug and then parted after several seconds.
"Go on." Maria encouraged him and he nodded before running and then took off flying with a bright glow up into orbit and joined up with the Skrulls who were aboard the large cruiser and hovered in front of the cockpit where he saw Talos, his family, Xarill and some children looking at him. The children waved at him and so did Xarill, who had Goose in her arms. Harry had one last look at Earth before he and the Skrulls jumped to find more Skrulls and a new home for them all.
The End
I had a good time writing this story and rewatching the film... I still really like it, no matter what people say. This is of course just one part of my grand MCU series. Including Ghost, Love Endures, John Holland: Ant-Man, its sequel and The Infinity Conflict.
