A/N: Like others, I love Urahara and Yoruichi and I was devastated when Kubo didn't include or mention them in Bleach's last chapter. (Also still waiting on their backstory Kubo...)
Anyways, I refused to believe that they died in that fight and this is what I imagined happened afterwards.
Nelliel watched the battle from on top of a building afar as a large, circular barrier surrounded her comrades below. She couldn't believe it. Urahara really did predict this to be one of the 5 possibilities.
She concentrated and looked for an opening in the barrier. The entrance was barely discernible, but she finally saw it. She felt Urahara's reiatsu fade and realized she didn't have much time; his bankai wouldn't be able to create an opening for much longer.
Nelliel leapt towards the entrance with her Sonido. She grabbed Yoruichi and Yūshirō first, the two who had been exposed to Askin's lethal poison the longest, and laid them gently on the ground outside. Then she went back for Grimmjow and Urahara, the latter of which would need to be healed first.
She had only been in there for a short while, but she imagined that she would have been close to death if Urahara hadn't prepared an antidote for her. It was short-lasting but long enough to allow her to save all of them.
Using the armband Urahara made for her, she turned into her child form.
"He really prepared for everything huh…"
Her child form allowed her to heal by vomiting (yes vomiting) on someone.
"Now, let's do this."
Maybe I'll still be able to meet up with Ichigo.
She sighed knowing that it would be highly unlikely for any of the four to wake up anytime soon. She started with Urahara first, then proceeded to heal the other three. Then she turned back into her adult form and sat in wait, arms wrapped around her knees.
You can do this, Ichigo. I'll see you soon enough.
Urahara slowly stirred, his body felt weaker and heavier than ever. "Nghhh…" He touched the spot where his right eye would have been and let out a tired sigh.
Of course, his Gift Ball Deluxe magnified even more with his death. How long has it been? Yoruichi—
Frantically, he tried to sit up and looked around to see Yoruichi lying next to him, still unconscious. Unconscious, but alive. He let out a heavy sigh of relief. Thank the gods. If she had died, and he grimaced at the mere thought—he wouldn't be able to live with himself.
"Urahara-san! You're awake. You probably shouldn't get up yet..." Nelliel exclaimed, looking worried.
"Ah Nelliel-san, don't worry about me. I can't ever thank you enough." He managed a charming smile, wincing just from the simple action.
"I'm glad I could help. I tried my best to heal everyone."
He glanced at Yūshirō and Grimmjow, who were in a much more stable state than when he had last seen them. Thankfully Yūshirō was alive too. He wouldn't be able to meet Yoruichi's eyes if the young Shihōin head had met his end here. He moved towards Yoruichi and hovered over her to examine her condition. Suddenly, his remaining eye was met with golden orbs he couldn't be more glad to see.
"Yoruichi-san you're awak—" He was met with a swift punch to the jaw, similar to the kick he received just a short while back when he made that crude lethal dose joke.
"Asshole," she breathed, before she suddenly pulled him closer, wrapping her arms around his neck, and embraced him.
"I'm glad you're alive too." Kisuke grinned bashfully, knowing he deserved that after forcing her into that undignified form she detests.
He embraced her back, welcoming the rare display of affection. He helped her sit up and she looked at his face carefully, pausing. "Your eye..."
"I know."
"I'm sure Orihime can heal it," she murmured and brushed a hand against his cheek.
He offered her a wary smile. While he could stay in her embrace forever, there was time for that later. A lot had happened while they were unconscious.
"Yhwach… it seems Kurosaki-san managed to defeat him."
Yoruichi nodded, a smile tugging at her lips. "Ichigo did it again."
He gave her a warm smile and wrapped his black haori around her. Her thunder cat form had kind of left her naked after all and he was a gentleman.
"Don't want innocent little Yūshirō to be scarred at the sight, do we?" he teased.
This time, she lightly punched his shoulder and turned to seek Yūshirō. She already sensed his reiatsu when she awoke, but she wanted to see that he was okay. She frowned, forehead creased, as she examined his wounds.
The idiot.
Still, she couldn't help but feel proud. She had taught him Shunkō merely a week ago and he had already shown so much progress in a short time.
"He's progressing even faster than I did," she mused. Her thoughts are interrupted when someone else wakes up.
"Agh… shit. That son of a b– WHY IS THERE VOMIT ON ME."
"Ah, Grimmjow-san!~ You've finally woken up… almost last, despite being the least exposed to the poison," Urahara exclaimed, the second part barely audible to anyone except himself."
"Yeah yeah. Goddammit. That son of a bitch was crazy."
Urahara nodded in agreement. "Indeed. Although the good news is, I believe Kurosaki-san has defeated Yhwach."
"Of course he did. God I still need to fight that orange-haired idiot," said Grimmjow.
"I knew Ichigo could do it," said Nelliel, smiling. "What's the plan now?"
Yoruichi chimed in, "We should head towards the 4th division. As nice as it was for Nelliel to heal all of us, we should get patched up a little more."
She looked worriedly towards Yūshirō, who still hadn't woken up. Then she looked at Kisuke. "Don't even think about going anywhere else. I'll drag your ass to the 4th if I need to."
Urahara chuckled, knowing she could barely drag herself there. "Wasn't planning to."
"Liar."
She knew he would run to the Soul King Palace as soon as he was patched up.
The five of them headed towards the 4th squad barracks, with Urahara carrying Yūshirō on his back. Everything around them was in ruins and bodies were scattered everywhere. There was no doubt that it would take years for the Seireitei to recover from the war.
Nelliel turned to look at Grimmjow. "Grimmjow, let's go rescue Hallibel afterwards," she said.
"Tchh. Why the hell should I?"
"We need her."
"Like hell we do," he replied, earning a glare from Nelliel.
He scoffed. "Okay, whatever."
Before they parted, Grimmjow looked to Urahara and scowled. "Don't forget about our deal."
Urahara grinned. "Why of course, I'm a man of honour!~"
Yoruichi forced herself not to roll her eyes.
The pair with Yūshirō still on Urahara's back arrived at the 4th division. They were going to be treated in separate rooms. Urahara looked at Yoruichi with a soft gaze. "I guess I'll be seeing you soon?"
"See you soon, Kisuke. Hopefully, with both of your eyes."
He couldn't help but chuckle. "Hopefully."
A/N: I'm glad I finally managed to write out this story. It's been in my mind for awhile.
Also my first Bleach fanfic so any feedback is very welcome!
Also Bleach novel SPOILERS:
All of them are alive in the novels Can't Fear Your Own World and We Do Knot Always Love You. I recommend reading them.
