Basis: Chapter 2

Date & Time: Wednesday, August 13th, 1975 10:30 A.M.

City: Clearwater

State: Lanahassee

*As Dustin and Ol' John ate their sandwiches on the bench and talked about John's experiences during the war, a 1959 Edsel Villager Wagon turned onto the road next to the park. A 1973 Pontiac Ventura also turned onto the road opposite them.

Dustin: Well, I….

*CRASH*

*The Ventura crashed headfirst into the wagon. Dustin, hearing the crash dropped his sandwich and ran towards the crash.

He vaulted over the fence and checked the Ventura. The driver was leaning against the steering wheel. He was Dead. He then moved to the people in the Edsel. Seeing movement, he walked over to the driver-side window.

Dustin: You guys ok?

Driver: I think my leg is broken, but I'm ok.

*Dustin opened the driver side door.

Dustin: I'm gonna get you out of here.

Driver: Get my family out first, My daughters and my wife. I'll be fine.

*Dustin looked in the back seat to see the girls, one a teen, one a child, and one barely a toddler. He looked at the teen.

Dustin: Get your sisters over to that Green Roadrunner over there.

Teen Girl: The Green car?

Dustin: Yes, carry the toddler and her hold her hand.

*The girls made their way to Dustin's Plymouth while he cut the lap seat belt off the woman in the passenger seat.

Dustin: Do you need help?

Driver: Nah. If you get to the trunk, there's a crutch I can use.

Dustin: Ok.

*The driver tossed him the keys, he ran to the trunk and pulled out the wooden crutch and handed it to the driver.

Driver: Thanks,

*Dustin pulled the woman from the wagon and made their way to the Roadrunner.

Dustin: Grab my jacket from the back seat and make a pillow.

The teen grabbed his jacket and made a makeshift pillow and laid it down on the ground. Dustin, holding her head to immobilize it as much as he could, gently laid her down, placing her head on the Jacket. He walked over to the Roadrunner, opened the glovebox and grabbed the police radio.

Dustin: This is Detective Dustin Holcomb, I'm off duty but I need two wreckers, a rescue squad, an ambulance, and the coroner at Town Center Park in Clearwater.

Dispatcher: 10-4 Detective.

*He looked to see the youngest daughter crying.

Dustin: Hey, what's wrong your safe?

Little girl: My Teddy Bear, it's still there.

*Dustin ran over to the rear passenger door, and tried to pull it open. When it did jerk open, his arm was sliced by a piece of metal that held the window to the track.

Dustin: AH, Damn.

*As blood slowly dripped down his arm, he frantically searched for the Teddy bear. He found it just under the bench wedged between the bench and the floor. He pulled it out bit not before tearing a hole in the bear's arm, eerily in the same place where his arm was cut.

Dustin: I got it.

*Squad 59 arrived pulling in behind the Green Roadrunner. The wreckers arrived cleaning up the two cars.

Dustin: Hey, I thought you guys were in a different area?

Bart: Were covering for Squad 111 They were working the wreck on Route 59.

*Bart went over to the unconscious woman and Bryon put a splint on the Driver. The coroner meanwhile was loading the body of the Ventura's driver into the Coroners '74 Monaco Wagon. Bart got in contact with Dr. Lee at Consular General.

Bart: Consular, This is Squad 59.

Dustin: Bry, you have Gauze?

*Bryon threw the spare roll of gauze bandages. He caught them and looked the bear resting against the Roadrunner's rear window. He wrapped his arm up, and then picked up the bear. He asked Bryon to wrap the bear's arm with some medical tape and he returned to the little girl. She knew he had the bear and she seen him wrap the bear's arm in medical tape. With a smile on his face, he dropped to his knee and looked at the little girl.

Dustin: What's your name?

Little girl: Allie.

Dustin: Allie, I found your bear, but his arm was cut like mine.

Allie: Ok, he can be fixed.

Dustin: What are your sister's names?

Allie: The oldest is Stephanie, and the one next to her is Brianna.

Dustin: Ok, you stay with Stephanie and Brianna, okay?

Allie: Ok, sir.

*She ran over to the other two girls.

Bart was loading the woman onto the stretcher while Bryon was helping the man onto the bench in the back of the Ambulance.

Bryon: Bart you ride with, I can take the kids in the squad.

Dustin: I'll follow behind in my car, I'm gonna get this checked out.

Bryon: Got it.

*Dustin got in the car and started the engine. Ol' John waved when he heard the engine start.

Dustin: See ya later, John.

*The Ambulance started down the two-lane towards St. Georgina. The Squad followed close behind. Dustin followed behind.

*The ambulance pulled into Consular General Hospital and led Squad 59 and Dustin's Roadrunner around back to the emergency entrance. They escorted the two patients into separate rooms to be checked out while Bryon, Bart, and Dustin walked over to the Emergency Base station.

Bryon: Hey Jackie.

Jackie: Hey guys.

Bart: We're refilling on supplies. The Detective here needs his arm checked out.

Jackie: What happened?

Dustin: I was trying to open the rear door of their wagon and the window frame gave way and sliced my forearm.

Jackie: Ok, well go ahead and go into Room 5 over there, I'll have one of the nurses take look at your arm.

Dustin: Sounds good.

*He walked down the busy hall, careful not to get in the way of any of the nurses or doctors. He walked into the room, and sat down on the table bed, his arm was now starting to pain him a little. He gently placed his hand on his arm. That is when he heard a soft knock on the door.
