Basis: Chapter 4

Date & Time: Wednesday, August 13th, 1975 4:00 P.M.

City: Clearwater

State: Lanahassee

*Dustin lived in a house outside the main town of Clearwater. The house was a single-story house with a two-bay Garage. His land wasn't wide, but it was large enough that he had a barn behind his house. He had no animals on his land, but he did have that barn. Dustin was in the garage of his house, under the hood of his 1970 Dodge Super Bee.

Dustin: Alright, I think that should do it.

*He walked over to the driver side window and turned the key. The starter cranked and the fuel pump hummed.

Dustin: C'mon, Girl.

The 426 Hemi in the Super Bee fired up.

Dustin: Yeah!

*Dustin did the final tune on the car, put orange Hemi air cleaner on top of the dual-quad carburators, and closed the hood.

*The next morning, Jason came driving up in his pale pink 1970 Cadillac Coupe De Ville. Dustin came out the front door with a smile on his face.

Jason: What are you smiling about?

Dustin: It's done.

Jason: Wait, you mean…

Dustin Uh-huh. Wait here.

*Dustin went inside the house leaving Jason at his Caddy. The Garage door opened and the Eggshell White 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee rolled out of the garage.

Jason: Oh my God!

Dustin: Hop in.

*Jason got in and they rolled onto the road.

*Dustin drove the Super Bee through town, circled around the park and pulled back up to the road to his house.

Dustin: You ready?

Jason: Do it.

*Dustin Hit the gas holding the brakes. The Super Bee's tires spun hard sending smoke billowing from both rear tires.

Jason: YEAH!

*Dustin rolled back up to his house and pulled the car back into the garage.

*Dustin and Jason walked back outside.

Jason: You going to the Black Falcon tonight?

Dustin: No, I can't.

Jason: What? Why?

Dustin: I may or may not be going on a date tonight.

Jason: Oh, well I hope it goes well for ya, man.

Dustin: Thanks.

*Jason got in his Cadillac and drove back home.

*Dustin walked over to his telephone on the countertop in between the kitchen and the living room. He picked up the receiver and dialed her number. The phone rang twice before she finally answered.

Shelly: Hello?

Dustin: Shelly, Its Dustin.

Shelly: Oh Hey! How are you?

Dustin: I'm good, um I have a question for you.

Shelly: What would that be?

Dustin: Would you be interested in going on a date with me?

Shelly: Uh, Yeah. Yes, of course I would.

Dustin: Great. How does dinner and a movie sound?

Shelly: That sounds amazing. Pick me up at 7?

Dustin: You got it.

Shelly: I live at 923 West Maple Street, Apartment 5. See you tonight, Bye.

Dustin: Bye.

*He hung up the phone, noticing that his clothes are covered in car grease and oil. He checked his watch showing 12:00 P.M. His hands were caked black from car grease and his clothes were dirty.

Dustin: Shit, I'm a mess. I gotta get cleaned up.

*He ran back to his bedroom and opened his closet's sliding door. He grabbed a Black button-up Dress shirt, Dark blue boot-cut jeans, and his black cowboy boots.

Dustin: I think this should be good.

*He walked into his bathroom and took a long hot shower after thoroughly washing his hands with Lava soap, getting the black grease off his fingers. After getting a shower, he brushed his teeth and combed his hair and beard.

Dustin: Ok, that's that done.

*He put on his clothes, checking his looks in the mirror, and applying a few sprays of Hai Karate. He walked back into his bedroom, sitting down to put his boots on. He spotted the shoulder holster hanging on the wall next to his dresser mirror. He stood, now wearing his boots looking in the mirror. He looked at 4 separate pictures. One of His Father, Wilson and his Step-Mother Dana standing next to his 1973 Kenworth W-900A, one of his Mother Sadie in front of her blue '66 Pontiac Catalina, and the last of his two brothers, Jacob and Sam. Jacob, 27 and a father to little Lola, was leaning on his 1971 Datsun 240z, and Sam, 20 and in college, leaning on the other car, a faded red 1967 Chevy Camaro SS.
