"Yeah, totally! I'm already in the neighborhood, I wouldn't mind stopping by! I'll keep you posted! Just enjoy your vacation! Bye!" Mimi hung up her cell phone and twirled her umbrella.
"Excuse me, you're getting water all over," an older man grumpily frowned.
"Oops, sorry…," Mimi bit her lip. She jiggled the carry-out bag in her hand and continued making her way over to the apartment building. She closed her umbrella, hopped into the elevator, and brushed her fingers through her messy hair. The winds and the rain from the current storm were growing more intense, she couldn't wait to get inside. She pulled a key out from her skirt pocket and unlocked the door.
"What are you doing here? And how the hell do you have a key?"
"Hi Izzy, nice to see you too…," Mimi casually placed the carry-out bag on the kitchen island.
"Seriously, how do you have a key to this place? Even I don't have a key, and I live here," Izzy huffed.
"Oh, that's cause I have your old key! Your parents forgot to give it to you. I may or may have not made a copy for myself," Mimi smirked.
"Wait, you're talking to my parents?!" Izzy turned red.
"What? They're nice people, and our moms are always hanging out. Now, I got a bone to pick with you, mister!" Mimi poked him in the chest.
"What?" Izzy groaned.
"How come you never told any of us you came back from Vancouver a week ago? You've been gone for months! We all missed you," Mimi put her hands on her hips.
"I didn't think it was important. I'm still a bit tired from my trip, so I'm trying to recoup. Even so, work doesn't stop," Izzy motioned to a laptop on the couch.
"Hmm…you said you're recouping, but have you really?" Mimi held up Izzy's face and looked in his exhausted, dark eyes.
"I'm fine. I'm still awake," Izzy yawned.
"Well, tell me. When was the last time you've eaten?" Mimi asked.
"Uh…I dunno. Some hours ago? I don't keep track," Izzy shrugged.
"Hopeless. Good thing I brought food," Mimi ripped open the carry-out bag and pulled out containers.
"Thanks, but I'll join you later. I should get back to work," Izzy said.
"Come on, eat something dammit! Your parents told me to check up on you and that's what I'm doing," Mimi grabbed Izzy's jaw and forced a piece of sushi in his mouth.
"Ow, okay! I'll eat! But I'll need a tea to go with this. I need to stay awake," Izzy got up from the couch and headed to the fridge.
"No!" Mimi slid in front of him.
"What? Get out of the way," Izzy huffed.
"No! Forget that premade oolong tea! I'll make something better! I found an amazing recipe and it's so good! You'll love it, just sit down, relax!" Mimi shooed him away.
"Okay, if you insist…the fresh oolong tea is in the cabinet above the stovetop," Izzy said as he sat back on the couch.
"Yeah, yeah…whatever. I got this," Mimi said as she grabbed a box of Earl Grey tea.
*boooom*
"Oooh, that was a nice thunder. This storm is pretty wicked," Mimi wiggled in place as she steamed milk.
"I like thunderstorms. They're peaceful, despite how noisy they are. I just like how the rain hits against the windows in an almost perfect rhythm," Izzy yawned.
"Well, tea's ready," Mimi grabbed two mugs and walked over to Izzy.
"Hmm, this is interesting. I don't taste any oolong in this," Izzy frowned.
"But is it good?" Mimi asked.
"Yeah, it's nice. Is there vanilla in it?" Izzy yawned.
"I added a little," Mimi smiled as she dimmed the lights in the living room.
"That was nice, I could go for another one, if you wouldn't mind," Izzy bashfully said.
"For you, of course," Mimi picked up his mug and went back to the kitchen. She grabbed more Earl Grey tea and started to prepare all of her ingredients together.
"You know what's so funny, Mimi? Usually, after one cup, I can perk up a little bit but I feel sleepier than usual," Izzy walked into the kitchen.
"Oh, is that so?" Mimi nervously smiled. "Maybe it's the milk?"
"Or maybe it's the tea! Mimi!" Izzy snatched the box of Earl Grey tea from the countertop.
"I can explain!" Mimi blurted.
"How could you?! You can't just switch out my caffeine like that! Why would you do that? You know I need the energy!" Izzy yelled.
"It doesn't look like it right now…yeesh. Look, I'm sorry, but you seem so tired. I figured that maybe you needed to relax a bit," Mimi bit her lip.
"Mimi…I appreciate your concern, but this isn't your call to make. Come on," Izzy pinched the bridge of his nose and groaned.
"I think you need to come on…," Mimi paused and immediately blushed.
"Excuse me?" Izzy turned red.
"Ugh, I meant you need to get on my page! I tried feeding you, I made special tea, what else do I have to do?" Mimi pulled Izzy by his shirt and kissed him on the lips. She slid her hands down his arms down to his fingers, which were finally loosening up.
*boooom*
"Uh…well, I can't get back to work now. I don't think I can think straight," Izzy blinked in surprise.
"So, are we gonna continue doing things my way?" Mimi teased him with small kisses on his neck.
"I surrender. You win. Can we just move somewhere before my legs get more relaxed than the rest of my body?" Izzy shakily asked.
"It might be too late for that," Mimi smirked before she went in for another kiss.
*crash* *boooom*
"Mimi…,"
"Please, you know you like it."
