Sarah has never fallen asleep at her desk before.
Especially in the middle of a class, with all of her students hunched attentively over their English tests. They know "Miss Williams" does not accept tardiness and does not excuse anyone's late homework. She watches them like an irritable owl.
Her head slumps forward. Her fingers loosen around a newly bought peach.
She thought it was, anyway.
Damn it.
Sarah's mouth tastes wet. Irresistibly sticky-sweet and hot, and pressing back urgently against Jareth's lips descending on hers.
There's no fight in her.
Even when she is angered by Jareth, or distrustful… Sarah's heart longs for the shelter of his castle.
"I am yours," he murmurs, nuzzling her face in reverence, Jareth's eyelids fluttering.
His breath hits her.
His ash-colored hair glimmers.
"I am yours and yours… forever and ever and ever…" Sarah gulps down the low, whining noise sitting in the back of her throat. She clutches desperately at his arms wrapping to her waist. "Ridicule me if you must, Sarah… use your harshest of words… I care not…"
"You should care…"
"I care only for you, and you alone," Jareth admits, etching the lines of Sarah's alabaster and aging face. Everything whirls around them, softly glowing and arching and rosy as the flush growing on Sarah's cheeks. Her head feels like it's glowing as well.
How long have they've been here? How many seconds?
Fifty-seven…
"You know I'm not staying," Sarah tells him, blinking her clear green eyes. "It's not that I do not choose you…"
Fifty-eight…
"Choose regardless, my dear."
Fifty-nine…
"No," Sarah blurts out, smiling with all of her teeth. Jareth mirrors her smile, pulling her into another tender, breathless kiss.
Sixty…
There's no waking.
There's no trickery nor abandonment without cause.
Falling in love is simply falling.
