4) blindfolded

Established triad relationship. Severus and Lucius have a birthday surprise for Harry, but he is hesitant to be blindfolded for one of the surprises. Will he trust his lovers, or will his past anxiety from living with the Dursley's impede the need to find out what they have planned?

It was the day they'd been waiting for and had extensively planned out for months. Severus and Lucius had planned a lovely party for Harry's 25th birthday as it was a milestone birthday to some and should be celebrated as much as any decade birthdays. They'd lived together for three years and had been casually dating Harry as a triad since things cooled down after the war. Lucius and Narcissa had mutually split as they each had a lover on the side and their marriage was only for convenience, to produce an heir which they did, and they were better best friends than lovers anyway.

Harry was woken up by Severus leaving kisses on his face while Lucius tried his best to cook them an easy yet not burnt breakfast. Harry had scolded him many times when he'd 'made them food' only to find out a house elf had done it. He was trying to not use their help for special occasions and this was one. Lucius was relieved when nothing burned and tasted good for his efforts. He hadn't even noticed the flour and dough in his hair and all over the frilly heart-shaped apron Harry had bought him as a joke gift once. He plated everything up and levitated the plates before heading to the Master Bedroom of Malfoy Manor, having stayed in his home while Narcissa had chosen to move out with her lover. Draco still had his room available if he was to spend a night here or there but had a flat of his own thanks to Severus hiring him as an apprentice in his new apothecary.

To say Harry was surprised was an understatement, he'd been giddy with excitement all morning and every time they'd tell him there would be more later. Sure enough there was more, after breakfast they allowed him to go practice with his new broom to burn off some energy. While Harry was distracted they started to prepare for the party. Harry wouldn't have a clue. Lucius had owled and fire-called the guests to tell them the time to arrive a week ago. Everyone quickly started arriving, Severus directing them to the dining hall they never used. It was huge and the last time it had been in any use was when the Dark Lord had been residing in the Manor. He charmed the room earlier to block any noise so Harry wouldn't hear a thing. Lucius had the hall all ready with food and drinks as well as a table full of gifts for Harry from everyone. Once that was done, Severus went to go get Harry while Lucius left to go get a new silk blindfold he'd purchased a few weeks ago. They had never used one for surprises nor in the bedroom before, hoping it would be okay and not cause Harry stress.

Harry was flying low around the quidditch pitch at Malfoy Manor when he saw Severus walking up. He figured it was time for another surprise so dismounted and put the new broom in the broom shed. Sometimes when Draco visited his father, they'd play a little on the pitch. He caught up to Severus and followed him back to the kitchen where Lucius also was waiting for them. Harry had noticed a blindfold in Lucius' hands before panicking, backing up to run as his senses warned him. He didn't like the unknown and still had a lot of anxiety with any changes, but more than that it reminded him about living with the Dursley's and being locked in the dark cupboard.

When he went to run, he bumped into Severus who had protectively wrapped his arms around Harry before releasing him when he had calmed down. "I know we've not used one of these before but it's so you don't see the surprise before it is ready, you;ll be more surprised that way. Trust us to take care of you. We've not harmed you since the was has ended, even when we had before then it wasn't enough to warrant this kind of anxiety." Lucius calmly told Harry. "You have the choice of course to wear it or not, if you want to."

Harry had allowed them to blindfold him, but in exchange he held onto each of their arms in a death-grip. They took him not very far it seemed, to everyone's relief as he had dug his nails into their arms. Once at their destination Lucius charmed the blindfold off of Harry, who blinked before he got a jump-scare as all his friends and weird extended family had jumped out of nowhere and yelled "HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRY!." Once his heart had calmed, he kissed each of his lovers on the cheek before leaning in to whisper to Lucius. "Maybe we should try the blindfold after all, it wasn't so bad." Severus had heard as well and pocketed it for later.
