Alice, Ollie and Pixie were standing outside of Alice's house on the front lawn in the front yard as they would go outside a few times a day as they saw that during the few days, a big moving truck was parked at a house in the neighborhood, people came in and out of the house to the truck, carrying everything inside and drove off once everything was off the truck and inside the house.
They even saw that a two women that own and live in the house were having people come in and out of the house to help them get settled in during the last two days which they appeared to have been hired by the mother of the house. They saw that the owners of the house were two women.
The women were a tall and slender woman with thick, long blonde hair, the second woman appeared to be the sister of the mother who also was a tall and slender woman but with long, thick brown hair, they even saw a third woman who appeared to be another sister who was also a tall and slender lady but with long, thick dark hair. All three of them were Caucasian and with how they spoke from the sounds of their voices, each one of them spoke in a Russian accent.
"I wonder who the new neighbors are? They probably have a kid." asked Ollie curiously.
"Maybe they got a shy little girl whose just begging to come out of her shell." guessed Pixie.
"It could be but I wouldn't assume anything yet since we haven't seen who their child is or if they even have any children for that matter." said Alice having some doubts.
"New neighbors!" came a cheerful male's voice.
The three kids turned to see that one of the light bulbs from outside Alice's house was turning purple and just like magic. The light bulb inflated like a balloon in the color of purple which it grew to be really huge till it popped loudly and out jumped Unicorn who now stood next to Alice, Ollie and Pixie. The light bulb was still in the spot that he came out of but it was the same color all light bulbs appear.
"We got a new neighbor? Where are they moving into the neighborhood? Maybe we can show him around and teach him how to dance like no one is watching." said Unicorn excitedly. "I picked up a few lessons at a dance class till they told me that the class was ending early."
Unicorn was doing what appeared to be a form of dance that shook and twerked his thickly large butt which Alice chuckled and smiled.
"Unicorn, you didn't go to a dance class. That was a dance show on television last night called Dance Fever at Night." chuckled Alice.
"Really?" said Unicorn as he stopped dancing. "That explains why I tried to talk to the people on there and no one was listening."
"Uh guys?" Ollie interjected.
They all turned and saw Ollie was pointing at the house that the new neighbors moved into. They turned and saw someone coming outside the house. They saw a fourth person living there but this time, they saw it was a kid, it was a boy but this boy's appearance was what caught them off guard.
The boy was a kid but older. They expected an eight or nine year old but this boy was appearing to be eleven or twelve years old or possibly older since they couldn't tell how old but his age was around that range. He appeared to be one of them handsome young boys with thick, full, voluminous, long blonde hair that was going slightly passed his shoulders as his hair was straight but wavy, blue eyes, a slender body, he was at least five feet tall which was a tall for even a boy his age. His hair was parted down the middle.
He was wearing a Pantone blue T-shirt with a gold lion's paw print and claws on the front of it, dark blue jean pants, a black hoodie jacket and sporty looking white, silver and gray shoes. The way he looked was as if he was one of them cool kids from how he dressed. They blinked twice at his appearance.
From looking at this boy who appeared to be eleven or twelve years of age. Seeing his handsome appearance and how cool his clothes looked. It was like funk and soul music was playing in their heads and they imagined someone singing to the music.
"Fi-i-i-re, uh, uh. Fi-i-ire, sing us home. Oh Lord. Fi-i-ire, woo, woo, woo, woo. Fi-i-i-re. The way you walk and talk really sets me off. To a four-alarm, child"
"Whoa!" said the three kids in surprised unison.
"He looks so cool." said Ollie in acknowledgement.
"He's older." Alice stated. "Let's take a gentle approach."
"Hey there new neighbor!" called Unicorn.
The boy turned to see Unicorn waving at him and the boy suddenly felt his hands go limp from the sight of the unicorn male that greeted him. His heart began to race faster, his let out a loud hiccup and blushed deeply at the sight of him. It was as if he liked who or what he sees.
"Unicorn, maybe we should take a gentle approach on this." Alice suggested.
Unicorn ignored Alice and ran over to the boy who was living in the house that was a few houses down or more. Unicorn wrapped an arm around him and pulled him over to the kids as he was eager to meet him or to introduce himself to the kids or to show him around the town and neighborhood. The boy's hair would bounce a lot when ever moving around as he was now standing next the three kids and the male unicorn.
"Unicorn, I said take a gentle approach." groaned Alice.
"I got a little too eager about this. And talk about hair! He's got quite the mane like I do." said Unicorn taking notice.
Unicorn sucked in a big amount of hair and his pink hair suddenly grew longer, thicker and it was resembling just like the young boy's hair. He did a hair flip and wave as if to show it off. This only made the boy blush deeper.
"You like having long hair, do you?" said Unicorn flipping and waving his hair.
The boy gave a brief nod as he was looking at his feet on the ground now. He let out a loud hiccup as if nervous around Unicorn. That's when Unicorn's hair puffed in a pink puff of smoke which his hair was back to it's normal length and look. They took notice of his nervousness.
"Was it something I said?" said Unicorn confused.
"I think he's just shy." Alice guessed. "It's alright, you got nothing to worry about with us. We wanted to meet the new neighbors but not going to lie. We didn't expect the new kid to be older. We're not used to hanging out with kids who are older but than again, I've hung out with some of my cousins who are teenagers and they're turning out alright."
"You got teenage cousins?" said Unicorn surprised.
"They live in the next neighborhood from here." Alice told him. "Hey kid, would you feel better if you knew our names?"
"A little." the boy spoke finally.
The boy spoke in a bit of a deep and low voice that had a bit of a British accent that almost sounded like he would speak in a whispering tone when using his inside voice but when speaking loud and clear, his accent was more noticeable. This was a sign of him actually being older than Alice and her friends.
"I'm Alice, these are my friends. Ollie." Alice introduced.
Ollie waved at the kid.
"Pixie." Alice continued.
Pixie waved at him which she accidentally tossed a bit of pink glitter into the air and it landed on the ground beneath them.
"Whoops! I didn't mean to do that but than again, it's bound to happen with me." said Pixie with a chuckle.
"And this is Unicorn." Alice finished.
Unicorn pulled the boy into his arms without warning to hug him and even kissed him on his cheeks as if to greet him. The kiss only made the boy's heart race faster around him and felt as though he was starting to like Unicorn more or there was something about him that he liked which he couldn't figure out what.
"Unicorn!" groaned Alice.
"The French greet people that way." said Unicorn.
"But we're not French and we're not in France." argued Alice.
The boy chuckled as if he found their interaction humorous.
"I think we made him laugh." said Ollie.
"Aapako yah pata hai." the boy replied.
"Oh? You know Hindi?" said an amazed Ollie.
He nodded once.
"Se mas que eso." the boy spoke in another language.
"Oh? You even know Spanish?" said Alice taking notice.
"I was taught a lot." the boy admitted. "I'm Abel Knight. My family sometimes calls me Jones."
"Knight, so your named after nightfall." said Unicorn.
Unicorn suddenly shown his stomach show a change in color as it shown a velvet black with white stars glowing on it which Abel was chuckling a bit.
"Knight as in suit of armor? Knight in shining armor?" Abel specified.
"Oh that kind of knight." said Unicorn.
The color of the sky on Unicorn's stomach disappeared and he reached out to his chest as he pulled a zipper down and he was suddenly shedding what looked like a layer suit of himself and he was suddenly in a knight's suit of armor. He's move around and make loud metallic clanking sounds as he did but lost his balance as he fell over in a thud to the ground.
"Ow! How do knights get around in their armor?" groaned Unicorn.
Unicorn pulled another zipper from his chest and another layer came off which he was free from the armor and was back to his normal self. Abel pulled him up with all his strength which for a boy his age, he was really strong as he got Unicorn up on his feet.
"Wow! Jone's is strong." said Unicorn surprised. "Since he's a new neighbor. Let's show him around town, Alice."
"Wait! What?" said Abel not expecting this.
Before anyone could react or say much of another word. Unicorn took hold of Abel's hand and dragged him off while Alice, Ollie and Pixie followed but Alice informed her parents she's going to hang out with her friends.
"Wait up, Unicorn!" cried Alice.
Somewhere in town. Alice, Ollie, Pixie, Unicorn and Abel were out in town and Abel saw a hotdog stand that looked like a small building with four people working there. Abel figured that they could use something good to eat as he went to pay for five hot dogs and five bottles of soda pop.
Each one of them was eating the hot dogs which each one of them was eating a chili dog and drinking a sweet tasting soda. They loved the warm taste of the chili dog as the meat, chili and cheese was both tangy, meaty and saucy. The soda pop was sweet, cold and refreshing.
"That's a good chili dog." said Unicorn munching on his chili dog.
"This is the first time I had a chili dog or a hot dog or anything involving such food." said Abel as he munched on his.
"Really? Your first hot dog?" said Ollie swallowing a few large bites.
Abel blushed at the question as they all devoured their chili dogs, used napkins to clean their hands and faces off.
"Is that bad?" said Abel sheepishly.
"Oh no, it's not bad. It's just kind of surprising." reassured Alice.
Abel let out a sigh of relief.
"I kind of grew up a little differently than others. I know how to do a lot of things but when we moved into this town. We moved down here to be closer to the rest of my family because where we used to live...it wasn't working out." Abel admitted with sadness.
They could see that Abel had a saddened expression from admitting what he told them which they could tell he wasn't feeling confident in himself. They knew that it had to be about moving to a new town which Unicorn pulled him in his arms to hug him which oddly consoled Abel.
"Well, what ever it was that didn't work out back there. You're here now to be given a fresh start of a new life." reassured Unicorn.
That's when they suddenly heard a loud fart. Leaving everyone to be wide eyed while Abel chuckled at the fact one of them farted loudly.
"Oopsy-doodles. I think the chili from the hot dog might've had more of, well, you know." said Unicorn with a slight blush.
That's when Abel let out a loud fart and a louder burp. As they released each others arms from one another. Both Unicorn and Abel smiled at the fact that they were letting out the bodily functions which left them both to chuckle.
"Belching contest!" said Unicorn and Abel in unison.
The two let out a loud burp which both of them were loud and long. That's when Alice let out a burp as well, than Ollie and Pixie. Each one of them let out a loud burp that was long and loud.
"Unicorn wins." said Abel chuckling.
"Yours was longer." chuckled Unicorn.
"Yours was louder." Abel responded.
Unicorn let out one more burp which was the longest and loudest.
"You got a point." chuckled Unicorn.
They saw that Abel was bonding with Unicorn fast and developing a sense of confidence which was unexpected yet oddly amazing to them.
The next place they went to was a coffee shop that was owned and run by Jaded. The coffee shop's sign read "How Now Brown Cocow" and the owner of the place was a female adult with her hair colored pink, wearing a pale green shirt that had the face of a cat on the front, black jeans and a tan sock cap as she wore glasses.
"Hey there Jaded." greeted Alice.
"What up, my homie." greeted Jaded. "I see you got a new friend. I met his mother and her sisters. They're nice ladies. It's probably strange for him being the only boy in a house full of ladies."
Abel blushed and fell silent. Jaded knew that she probably said something she shouldn't have said out loud and shown remorse.
"Sorry about that, dawg. I didn't mean anything by that." Jaded apologized.
"This is Abel. We're just showing him around town." explained Alice.
"He's got long locks though. He probably could attract a lot of attention from the gals." complimented Jaded.
"I wouldn't say that." Abel nervously admitted.
Abel blushed as Unicorn took hold of his hand and hugged him. A hug from Unicorn nearly had Abel feeling as though he was on cloud nine when being hugged by Unicorn that he almost fainted to the floor but Unicorn caught him before he would hit the floor.
"You alright, Abel?" asked Alice worried.
"I'm cool." said Abel chuckling.
"I love it when you call me Big Poppa"
They all turned to see a tall and athletic built African-American male high school teenager nearby and he was rapping out to a song that had G-Funk music playing to it. He was standing in front of the mic-stand as he would do a little dance and wave his hands in the air.
"Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player. I love it when you call me Big Poppa. To the honeys gettin' money, playin' brothas like mummies. I love it when you call me Big Poppa. You got a weapon up in your waist, please don't trash up the place. Why? 'Cause I see some ladies tonight that should be havin' my baby, baby"
The music that was playing eventually stopped as other applauded for the young teenager who walked off as they saw a sign nearby that read "Open Mic Day" which they turned to Jaded.
"Oh yeah, forgot to tell you guys. We're having an open mic day where anyone can sing to something that's like karaoke." explained Jaded.
An idea formed in Unicorn's head as he grinned. His heart pumping with excitement as he looked towards Abel.
"You guys done this before?" asked Abel.
"A few times. We once tried poetry slamming but than it turned into a rap performance. It was quite a thrilling experience, even if I was a bit nervous at first." explained Alice.
"Abel should give this a shot!" Unicorn suggested.
"I'd rather not." said Abel showing fear.
Abel pulled Unicorn in his arms to hug him as if seeking comfort. He was shaking slightly in his body. This caught them off guard. They knew that they suspected he was the shy type but their suspicions may have been confirmed. He was doing just fine till now and yet they had a hunch what his reaction was about.
"You're a little nervous?" guessed Ollie.
"Thoda sa." Abel admitted.
"Translation Ollie?" asked Alice.
"He's a little nervous." Ollie translated.
Alice knew that Abel was now showing fear as if too shy to even work up the courage to go and sing on the open mic day which she felt like she could relate to this feeling.
"You got nothing to be afraid of. A lot of people are nervous at first. I know I was when we tried doing a rap performance but I did get a little help from Unicorn and MC Frosting. The support from them and my friends and family got me through it." said Alice reassuring him.
"I can't do it." Abel said.
"Maybe a new look could boost your confidence?" Pixie suggested.
"It's nothing to do with that." Abel chimed in. "I'm not the most confident person around. Where we used to live, I didn't have the best time back there and neither did my family. We lived in the city and it wasn't the best choice for us. We didn't know anyone, we weren't close to anyone. I didn't really have any friends back there. It felt like we were alone. So my mom and her sisters figured it was better to move down here to be closer to the rest of our family when a job opportunity for them came up. It was something better for them than their previous one. We figured if it's down here in the nice, peaceful suburbs with the rest of our family, we thought it would be a good idea to start our lives over. I've just never been the confident type."
Hearing Abel admit to why he wasn't very confident about performing not only had them feeling sympathetic towards him but also they could tell that this wasn't easy for him.
"Abel, a lot of people are the shy and nervous type but you shouldn't let your life from where you used to live dictate on how you should live your life now." said Alice with a word of comfort.
"You have us as your friends now and so far, we've lived in this town for a long time and it's quite peaceful, the people are friendly, well, most of the time. But the people in this town are good people." Ollie reassured.
"The worst that could happen is the microphone shorts out and stops working." said Pixie pointing out a worst case.
The three kids and Unicorn came to embrace Abel in a group hug to reassure him which seemed to be working. After a moment of hugging. That's when Unicorn gotten an idea to boost Abel's confidence but what he had in mind was ether taking a lot of courage or was shockingly not what they expected at all.
"I know something that'll make you confident, little guy." said Unicorn.
Unicorn smiled and pulled Abel in close to him and the heavyset male unicorn planted his soft and full lips to Abel's lips. The three kids were wide eyed at the sight of Unicorn kissing Abel on the lips but Abel himself was feeling like his world was spinning at the speed of a tornado in a trailer park. His heart pounding and fireworks went off in his head as he felt as though he might like Unicorn, not just as a friend, not just as a best friend but felt like he liked Unicorn as something more. Unicorn pulled his lips off him and spun Abel around once to have him face the mic-stand as he playfully pushed a now smiling Abel towards the stage.
"Go get'em." said Unicorn with a grin.
"He actually kissed me. That majestic, beautiful creature kissed me." Abel thought to himself happily.
"Unicorn, did you just." Alice began.
"It was to give him a confidence boost. We've seen a lot of people doing that in some romantic comedies we've seen." Unicorn explained.
"But this is real life." groaned Alice. "Don't go away and do anything I wouldn't, Unicorn."
"Oh Alice." chuckled Unicorn.
Abel got onto the stage which was only one step up to climb on it. He got in front of the microphone, tapped it to make sure it was working and it make a brief creaking sound that echoed.
"Hit it!" cried Unicorn.
Someone started to play what sounded like rock and pop music that sounded like someone playing an electric guitar to the beat while Unicorn gave Abel a wink and smile as if to encourage him. That's when Abel had a confidence rising inside him like a rocket taking off to a space mission to the moon and he began to sing which he had a powerfully beautiful voice that surprised everyone.
"Ooooh, yeaaah! Woo hoo hoo! Woo hoo hoo!"
The music got a bit louder and as powerful as the music sounded. Everyone was wide eyed with excited shock at how good of a singer Abel was as he had a powerhouse of a voice.
"Hey you, I see you standing there. You got to stomp out the blues. Can you feel it? We've got the powers. From your ears to your shoes. W-w-with magic, it Is the fire. To fix an animal's move to the groove yeah. Shout it out, let it out. That's what it's all about. Shout it out, shout it out, woo hoo hoo. Shout it out, let it out. We love to rock'n roll. It's just the way it goes. We love to rock'n roll"
There was the electric guitar playing like it was so powerful that the music was sounding like rock and pop music from back in eighties or nineties as others in the coffee shop would be tapping their feet, some would be shaking and dancing their hips and others would be waving their hands in the air to the music.
Alice found herself starting to dance to the music which she tried to stop herself but couldn't, her body was under the spell of the music to dance to it while her friends would freestyle dance. Unicorn on the other hand was dancing to the music but shaking and kind of twerking his really large, wide and thick butt to the musical tune of the song. Many of the people in their would chant once the words "Rock and Roll" and as the song kept going. Abel's singing resumed as his voice was at it's best.
"Shout it out, let it out. That's what it's all about. Shout it out, shout it out, woo hoo hoo. Shout it out, let it out. We love to rock'n roll
It's just the way it goes. We love to rock'n roll."
Abel would powerfully sing out words "Yeeaah!" twice in such a powerful tone that others joined him in that.
"We love to rock'n roll!"
That's when the music and the song came to an abrupt end while everyone applauded for his performance. Abel felt like he was more confident than he's ever felt in his life.
"Thank you ladies and gentlemen. I'm here till Thursday." Abel told them while telling a joke.
Abel ran over towards Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn.
"You did it, Jones! That was incredible!" cried Unicorn.
That's when Abel hugged Unicorn and he hugged him back. Alice, Ollie and Pixie joined in on the hug which everyone let out an adored "Awww"
"That was mondo beautiful." said Jaded.
When no one was looking. Unicorn kissed Abel on his cheeks which left him a blushing mess with a grin.
"Oh my. I actually did it." said Abel his fear gone.
"I guess a little confidence boost did the trick. I'll admit, I didn't expect Unicorn to, you know, but I guess it worked." said Alice oddly agreeing. "Wanna go to the park, Abel? We have loads of fun there."
"Can we?" asked Abel feeling invigorated.
"Sounds like a good idea to me." said Unicorn in agreement.
Unicorn pulled the kids by their hands and out the door they went in a flash. They headed to the park where it had plenty of green grass, a big playground that had a few swing sets, seesaws, merry-go-rounds, jungle gyms, slides, a large sandbox or two, some spring riders that were looking like various animals, and one maze for little kids.
They opted out for playing on the swings as there was plenty of swing sets at the park's playground. Abel felt like his confidence was growing from his new friend's encouragement, the positive interaction with them and most of all, from Unicorn's loving nature and especially from receiving his first kiss from the unicorn like creature. He felt like he was growing fond of him or possibly was harboring feelings towards Unicorn.
"Where did you learn to sing like that?" asked Pixie.
"Me and one of my aunts did some karaoke singing back in the city. It was one of the only good things I remember about the city. My aunt first started doing that, than my mom taught me and I liked it." answered Abel.
"Makes me wonder what else did you learn." said Alice looking curious.
"I'll let you know if I lose count after however high I can count." joked Abel.
"Oh you." chuckled Alice.
As they kept swinging, that's when both Abel and Unicorn got off their swings as Unicorn would at times give Alice, Ollie and Pixie a push when they needed one as the swung on the swing set. Abel started to remember one of the songs that was sung at the open mic performance at the coffee shop earlier and he was thinking of the rhythm and the musical tune of the song that the male high school teenager was rapping out to. He had the song in his head along with some of the words as he would begin to slowly break into dance by tapping his feet.
As he tapped his feet at first, than moved his legs in a dance like motion and began to sing out some of the words to the rap song while Unicorn saw this and was starting to dance a little along with him. Even when singing out to a rap song his voice was beautiful.
"I love it when you call me Big Poppa. Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player. 'Cause I see some ladies tonight that should be havin' my baby, baby"
Than that's when Unicorn started to sing along with him and slowly it started to get Ollie and Pixie to sing along. Alice didn't know if she should sing along with them as she didn't mind rap music but she didn't know if this one song was something she's into. That's when Unicorn sang out some of the words and danced near her.
"I love it when you call me Big Poppa. Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player. 'Cause I see some ladies tonight that should be havin' my baby, baby"
Alice was still a bit adamant about singing along but the more Unicorn danced around and sung along was when Alice formed a grin and chuckled as she knew Unicorn would make her laugh many times and encourage her to do more things without planning them. She relented and sung along. Both Abel and Unicorn would wave their hands back and forth in the air at times when Unicorn would dance his way over to Abel.
"I love it when you call me Big Poppa. Throw your hands in the air if you's a true player. 'Cause I see some ladies tonight that should be havin' my baby, baby"
Both Abel and Unicorn were breaking into dance as the two took hold of each others hands and they spun each other around a few times and stopped, they started to dance at a fast motion with their legs and feet moving simultaneously.
"You and me against the world!" said Abel in excitement.
"Awww, someone likes me!" said Unicorn in a sing song voice.
They eventually stopped singing and both Abel and Unicorn stopped dancing and just when they were about to do anything else. That's when something hit Abel over his head and knocked him over to the ground. Their moment of joy was short lived when they turned to see that Abel got hit over the head with a red rubber ball and a boy with his red hair slick back and with a smug grin was the culprit who tossed it. Alice, Ollie and Pixie came rushing over to Abel who got helped up by Unicorn. It was Chaz.
"I was practicing on playing dodgeball but it looks like my ball decided to nail him on his head." said Chaz maliciously.
"Chaz! That was not nice!" snapped Alice.
Abel groaned as he rubbed his head a bit while Unicorn kept him on his feet while showing Chaz a cold expression.
"It's not my fault that his big head was in the way. Maybe you all should go play somewhere else while I keep practicing my dodgeball skills." said Chaz being smug.
"The park doesn't belong to you or anything." Ollie defended.
"The park belongs to everyone." Pixie argued.
"And apparently, the human skyscraper here is too tall to miss. Hey skyscraper, why don't you go play basketball, you'll get hit in the face plenty of times." insulted Chaz.
Abel was starting to get annoyed by Chaz's behavior. He could tell that from how Chaz's clothing looks from his stylish outfit, his perfectly made hair and his smug, arrogant attitude, he had to be one of them snooty, snobby, stuck-up rich kids.
"Abel has every right to be here like you do. Why don't you go back to where ever you were playing and leave us be. And leave Abel alone." Alice sharply suggested.
"Oh? It has a name now? Well Abel, I know you probably are the new kid in town from what I heard. So I can forgive you if you don't know the rules when I'm around. What I say goes, in every competition, everyone stays out of my way and that includes you, big and taller. Now beat it and run to your ugly house with them old hags." insulted Chaz.
This left everyone wide eyed and their mouths fell open. Chaz said probably his worst series of insults he could say to anyone, even to a new kid in town. An anger shot through Abel like a lightning bolt and he suddenly felt so insulted that he couldn't take this snooty rich kid's attitude no more. He shown a stoic expression, took a couple of steps towards him and Chaz's smile faded a little.
"Slick back hair, fancy clothes, snooty, arrogant attitude and a narcissistic personality. Tell me, you're one of them rich kids?" said Abel.
"I'm from a wealthy family, yes." said Chaz appearing proud of himself.
"Chazzy, Chazzy, the world's biggest spazzy, hoo, hoo, hoo!" Abel snapped in a sing song voice.
This left Alice, Ollie and Pixie to laugh at the clever insult that Abel just directed at Chaz who was burning red with annoyance.
"Stop making that insult." Chaz demanded.
"Stop insulting me, my family or my friends, Spaz." Abel instructed.
"Don't make me get Jeeves." Chaz threatened.
One of Chaz's butlers came to his side but Abel wasn't going to take this kid's negativity anymore.
"Jeeves, you stay right there where I can see you, got it!" snapped Abel. "You know what, Chaz, I've only been around you a minute or two, but that's enough time for me to decide that I don't like you very much. And I'm sure you feel the same about me or anyone you think you're better than when no one is better than someone else. If you think your better than everyone, than you're out of your snooty, conceited, selfish, overpaid, big, sassy, loud mouthed, money-grubbing, lazy hiney mind."
The way Abel was standing up for himself, for his friends and his family for that matter was shocking to them but oddly satisfying. Chaz was wide eyed at the rant that Abel directed at him to the point of almost being speechless.
"You can't tell me what to do." argued Chaz.
"Neither can you. Not everything in life is a competition, sports may be a competition but in sports, we all know that sportsmanship is what matters, not the trophy. Sure, it feels good to win and the trophy is just proof that someone won, the trophy means nothing, it's just a metal cup with someone's name on it. You may be rich beyond your wildest of dreams, live in a big, fancy house, have a lot of butlers and nannies serving you and waiting on you hand and foot and doing everything for you. But in reality, they hate you. Your servants all hate you because of your attitude problem and how you see people who are not like you. You may have everything but you never earned it, you never worked hard for it, you did nothing to earn it. Your parents did, you only inherited it but never worked a day in your life, someone did everything for you." Abel kindly ranted at him. "Just because you have a big, fancy home, more money than billionaires and the fancy clothes doesn't change who we really are. You're a cold-hearted jerk with no soul and I can reach something off the top shelf while you need a step ladder or your butler to lift you up. You don't know me, you don't know my friends and you clearly don't know my family or anyone else's. You take away the money, the big house, the fancy outfits, the servants and big, shiny cars. You're nothing but a egomaniac with a big, loud mouth. Your the one who hit me over the head with a red rubber ball and if your folks find out your bullying other kids, just imagine how grounded you'll be like a helicopter without a propeller that's out of gas."
"Now see here. You can't talk to me like that." argued Chaz.
"Neither can you. Now if you wanna play here at this playground, that's fine, but you however have no right to tell who can or can't play here. You have no right to talk to people the way you do. And you have no right to tell anyone what they can and can't do. So you have some options. You can play at this park and play nice with everyone or you can continue your negative behavior towards everyone till someone chases you off or tells your parents who will more than likely give you a heavy duty grounding. So make your choice." said Abel crossing his arms.
The look on Chaz's face went from smug to shock. His bullying tactics had no affect on Abel, he shown he wasn't messing around and he was serious. Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn were impressed that he was standing up to Chaz's bullying but also with the fact that he was trying to be nice to him as well what with allowing him to play at the park if he behaves himself. Chaz's butler smiled when Chaz wasn't looking, his butler felt like laughing as he knew that someone had to give Chaz an attitude adjustment. Abel took the red rubber ball and gave it to Jeeves.
Chaz felt defeated and knew now if he tried anything, he'd be ratted out and be grounded or that someone else other than his parents could do the same or that Jeeves would be the one to say something. Chaz had no other choice but to turn around to go play in the area of the park that he was playing in while his butler followed, trying not to burst out in laughter at the sight of Abel standing up to Chaz and giving him an attitude adjustment with a dose of reality.
"Wow! You actually stood up Chaz." said Alice impressed.
"And he only used his words. That was so mmmmph." Unicorn was cut off.
Unicorn was brought into Abel's arms and he kissed Unicorn on the lips which Unicorn kissed him back. Alice, Ollie and Pixie were still a little surprised to be seeing the two kiss. Pixie figured that it was cute but both Ollie and Alice were appearing to be still getting used to seeing those two kiss.
"Should we be watching this?" said a hesitant Ollie. "It's like seeing my parents kiss which everytime I see them kissing, I still close my eyes."
Abel and Unicorn pulled their lips off each other and both of them were giggling while their cheeks were a deep shade of red.
"I think he likes me." said Unicorn with a smile.
"Uh Abel. A word." groaned Alice.
Alice came over to Abel and pulled him aside as she pulled him by the hand over a different direction and stopped. She stood in front of him with an annoyed face.
"Abel, I'm only wanting to know about this so I can understand. Why are you and Unicorn kissing!" said Alice calmly at first but sharply the next.
Abel was blushing deeper than ever. He knew that Alice was curious but also slightly embarrassed that her best friend and her new friend were kissing each other but he knew this wasn't jealousy.
"Is that bad?" said Abel nervously.
"Well, technically no, but it's just weird or unexpected. You know how when parents kiss each other and their kids find it gross so they close their eyes or look away? Well, it's just kind of out of the blue. Why are you and Unicorn kissing each other for? Is it because you like Unicorn?" said Alice starting to want answers.
That's when the boy let out a loud hiccup, his loudest hiccup ever and blushed deeper than he's ever blushed. He let out a sigh and Alice sees that maybe she's being too harsh on him but also realizes she guessed the truth.
"Alice, do you happen to know about relationships where some are between a guy and a girl and, well, others?" said Abel hesitantly.
"Well, we do have a couple in the neighborhood that's two guys but my parents told me that there are some guys like that and some girls like that too but..." Alice paused as she suddenly realized something. "Wait, do you happen to like Unicorn?"
Abel felt slightly ashamed to admit it as he knew that no one would understand that he's got a crush on Unicorn or that he's in love with Unicorn in terms of relationships. He nodded once.
"I...I like Unicorn." Abel confessed. "I know, I was the shy guy when you all first met me today but Unicorn is the first person to give me any sort of confidence or courage on my first day out in the neighborhood. And hard to believe but he's given me my first kiss. I know, some kids your age are probably put off by that but I really like him. I'm grateful that you and your friends shown me around town and shown me a good time, back in the city, I didn't have anyone like that, it was just me and my mom and my aunts. But today, I couldn't ask for better friends that I've made and it's because of you and your friends that I know I'm going to love living here."
This was not only a lot to take in for Alice but she somehow knew that Abel's right. It is because of them that he's had such a great first day in the town that he's now living in. She smiled and pulled Abel in for a hug which he was caught off guard by this.
"Oh Abel. I know you mean no harm to anyone. I'm impressed that you stood up to Chaz. I'll admit I'm a surprised that you like Unicorn in the way you do but I know now that you mean no harm in any way or form." reassured Alice.
Abel felt better and hugged Alice back.
"You and your friends are the first friends I've ever met in this beautiful town. But there is one little thing that's on my mind." said Abel feeling nervous. "Will Unicorn like me back?"
Alice released her arms from him as he did the same which Alice had a word of comforting advice.
"I may not know anything about dating or relationships of such. But I do understand what love is and that if someone is in love with someone, they shouldn't let fear hold them back. Unicorn's grown fond of you and you've grown fond of him. You should tell him how you feel and be open and honest with him. Besides, we've seen a few rom-com films and when ever they shown people dating or pursuing those they're in love with, they always end up together in the end." said Alice with a word of comfort.
"You think that'll work?" asked Abel curiously.
"You never know until you try. Stranger things have happened. Unicorn's magic has done some impossible things that became possible." reassured Alice.
Abel had to agree that Alice is right. Even from what he saw Unicorn do with his magic or other things, it would be impossible for anyone to do but for a unicorn, it's possible.
"Okay, I wanna tell Unicorn how I feel." said Abel with a sense of growing confidence.
That's when Abel and Alice walked off and headed back to Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn. Unicorn was teaching Ollie and Pixie how to do the Dougie dance which they seemed to be learning the dance moves really fast.
"So they call this the Dougie?" said Ollie.
"I thought they called it the Doogie or the Doggy like a dog." said Unicorn confused.
Unicorn started to mimic the realistic sounds of a dog barking which Alice chuckled.
"It's called the Dougie, Unicorn. Not the Doogie and not the Doggy." chuckled Alice.
"Oh? Now I know that." chuckled Unicorn.
Abel looked at Unicorn and blushed as Unicorn noticed he had something on his mind.
"Unicorn, would it be alright if Abel talks with you?" suggested Alice.
Alice suddenly went to Ollie and Pixie's side and instructed them to let Abel and Unicorn have a moment alone as they took a few steps away by about a few feet. Alice gave Abel a thumbs up to encourage him which Abel faced Unicorn as he let out a breath.
"Unicorn. I got something I want to tell you." said Abel.
"I'm all ears." said Unicorn giving him his attention.
"Unicorn, today has been the best first day in the neighborhood that I could ever ask for. Your the first friend I've made here along with Alice, Ollie and Pixie. I know I've been on the shy side at first but your encouraging behavior and how confident you've shown to be, I'll admit, at first, I didn't think I could be confident but with how you've been encouraging me and given me a confidence boost, I think I can be confident more often and it's thanks to you that I've achieved such a goal." said Abel explaining his feelings.
"Awww, I'm glad to have brought you out of your shell." said Unicorn feeling adored by his words.
"That also has left me to develop the courage to wanna tell you something and it's kind of hard for me to say what it is." said Abel admitting his struggle.
"Would it make you feel better if you whispered it in my ear?" suggested Unicorn.
Unicorn reached out to place one of his hoof like hands in his horse like ears as if to check for anything that's inside it and he pulled out what looked like a record player inside.
"Whoopsy! That's for listening to the classics for later." said Unicorn placing it back inside. "Now I'm all ears."
Abel knew that it was now or never. This was his chance to confess how he feels about Unicorn. The one person whose become his love interest. He sucked in a bit of air and let out a breath. He immediately pulled Unicorn into his arms like he was hugging him and he finally whispered something into Unicorn's ear.
What he whispered into Unicorn's ear was something that made him blush at first, but than immediately smiled as if he was told the best news he's ever been given by anyone. Abel whispered how he felt about Unicorn in ways he understood. Afterwards, he pulled himself off Unicorn and the male unicorn saw he was blushing.
"Oh? So you like me, do you?" said Unicorn with a blushing grin.
"I do. Yet I know you want to spend time with your friend Alice and her friends as well as be there for her. I don't want to get in the way out of that but at the same time, I want to part of Alice's group of friends and with you, Unicorn. You're the first friend I made in town as well as the first person to give me a confidence boost here. I do hope that you like me back as much as I like you." Abel confessed.
Abel waited for Unicorn to say or do something, to react in same way or form. That's when Unicorn grinned and pulled Abel into his arms and planted his big, full, soft lips to Abel's lips. Abel's world was spinning fast and fireworks went off in his head as he closed his eyes as he let Unicorn smooch him and he smooched him back. That's when the two eventually pulled their lips off each other in a loud pop which Abel briefly let out a squeal of excitement from this. He hugged Unicorn as he hugged him back.
"You're just as sweet as Alice. I like you as much as you like me." said Unicorn.
"Awww, they're cute together that way." chimed in Pixie in an adored tone.
They turned to see that Alice, Ollie and Pixie were now standing next to them with grins. Alice was feeling proud that Abel confessed his feelings towards Unicorn and that Unicorn felt the same way about Abel.
"I take it that Unicorn likes you back?" guessed Alice.
Abel took hold of Unicorn's hoof like hand and he smiled with him.
"What time is it?" asked Ollie.
Abel was the first to identify the time when he looked at a wrist watch he had on his right wrist which the time was showing to be some time after four in the afternoon and it was pushing.
"It's at least close to being after 4:37 in the afternoon." Abel revealed.
"We should head back!" they all said in unison.
They all walked off from the park and made it back to the neighborhood they were living in. The whole time along the walk, both Unicorn and Abel held each others hand, even Unicorn kissed Abel on his cheek, leaving him blushing with a giggle.
Alice's parents were looking like they got through with some day to day tasks for the day. Alice's dad Chuck looked as though he just got through cleaning the mailbox and repainted their family name on one of it's sides. Alice's mother Tanya just came out from the garage as she placed something away in the garage while Hugo hung from her shoulders in a baby bjorn that was strapped to her torso. They turned to see Unicorn and the kids show up after a long day.
"Fixing the mailbox?" guessed Alice.
"Just cleaning it up and repainting the family name on there. Good thing I went with paint that was odorless because last time they had a smell, it smelled like a camel." said Chuck with a shudder.
"Conozco el sentimiento. Huele peor que las letrinas en un campamento de verano." said Abel as if relating. "My advice is use fresh scented spray."
Alice's parents were surprised yet impressed that Abel knew Spanish like they did.
"So even the new neighbor knows Spanish like we do." said Tanya surprised.
"I know many languages out there and Spanish is not the only one." said Abel. "I am Abel. Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn shown me around town today for my first day here. I loved every minute of it."
"Medovyy!" called a lady's voice.
"Mamochka! YA snaruzhi!" called Abel.
Abel's mother and his two aunts came outside as he came over to them and he was hugged by his mother and his aunts as he hugged them back.
"I had the best first day in town ever." said Abel.
"With whom?" asked his mother.
Abel pointed out Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn who all waved at them while Unicorn blew Abel a kiss which left him to chuckle.
"I see you've made friends in the neighborhood." said his mother.
"Is one of them a unicorn?" asked the brown haired aunt.
"Yes, but he's the nicest unicorn I've ever met. He's the first to bring me out of my shell along with his friends." Abel explained.
The three adult women were surprised to see that Abel is not so shy at first or that he's not showing to be as shy as he was when they got settled in on their first day living in the neighborhood. They saw the Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn have been quite the influence on him.
"Everything went well for our Malysh?" asked the blonde woman.
"Everything was." Unicorn began.
"Fabulous!" said Unicorn and the kids in unison.
Abel suddenly let out a powerful operatic note as he surprised everyone with his beautiful opera singing which he held the note for a good ten seconds. After he stopped, there was an applause from them. Abel's mother and his aunts hugged him once more.
"Our little man is usually such a shy guy but if he's had such a great day with these children. Than they must've been quite the influence on him." said the dark haired woman.
"Good thing he'll be going to their school too." said the brown haired woman.
"That's great!" said Unicorn and the kids in unison.
Abel had such a great first day in the neighborhood and the town as it was thanks to Unicorn's encouraging personality and from Alice, Ollie and Pixie's positive influence on him. As Abel and his family are now living in the new town that is now their new home, Abel was going to be attending Alice's school which was good news for Alice, Ollie, Pixie and Unicorn. Abel and Unicorn became quite the cute couple but most important of all. Abel has opened up more into a confident kid and it was all thanks to Unicorn, Alice, Ollie and Pixie.
