"I'm going to hunt down this bastard." Amande said plainly to her mother and it wasn't a request. No she was just telling her mother that it was going to happen.
"No Chess Peacekeepers, no Tarte ships, and no other siblings are going with you." Big Mom said immediately and Amande nodded once to show she understood.
"I left Mondee-nee in charge of Nuts Island, she knows most of the work anyways so it'll be fine. I leave in less than an hour." Amande said without wasting a moment and making Big Mom nod her head.
"Where will you start the search?" Big Mom asked raising an eyebrow at her third daughter.
"If this guy killed a member of Whitebeards crew over a devil fruit and then fled he's likely not going to be in the New World because that's where Whitebeard and his group will search first. I'm going to head to Paradise and start there, if he's not there I'll check the Blues before coming back to the New World." Amande laid out her basic plan and earning a hum from Big Mom, it did sound plausible that he'd be smart enough to flee the New World all together after pulling such an act. Amande only left out that she'd also be searching everywhere for Galette as well as this Teach bastard.
"Good but since you are leaving…" Big Mom trailed off for a moment and then activated her powers.
"Stay or Life." Big Mom demanded making her assembled children other than Amande to look shocked that she'd do this to her own child, especially one praised as one of the best Big Sisters and strongest in the crew.
"Life." Amande drawled without hesitation or even blinking as she looked at her mother unimpressed.
Big Mom moved as if to take some of Amande's soul but then paused when it didn't appear.
"What?" Big Mom was shocked that it didn't appear.
"Stay or Life." Big Mom demanded her voice darker now and Amande merely blew some smoke out of her mouth.
"Life." Amande said and once again her life force and soul didn't show up at all.
Her siblings jaws dropped open in shock and disbelief as they stared at Amande who didn't even bother pretending to be scared.
"It's not working…well then…Stay or Life?" Big Mom demanded as she used her Conquerors Haki on the last word as if to impose her will on her daughter, a few of the other children passed out at the use of Haki but most of them did manage to remain upright.
Amande didn't even bat an eye.
"Life." Amande said bored and not bothered at all by the wave of her mothers Haki that was blasted throughout the room but mostly focused on her.
"Can I leave now?" Amande asked blowing smoke almost directly in her mothers face while her still conscious siblings jaws were damn near on the ground.
"She's…not scared of mama at all." Smoothie gaped in disbelief at her older sister who continued to look bored as she stared up at her mother.
"If there was even a tiny smidge of fear then Mama would be able to take her life force but…" Broye was also gaping in shock at her older sister.
"I've been dealing with chronic depression for more than twenty years now. I'm already dead inside." Amande said without her gaze wavering once as she stared at her stunned mother while her cigarette finally burned out and she just flicked the ashes onto the floor, the butt being dropped into an ashtray on the table next to her.
"Now if you're done posturing, I'm going to hunt down a cowardly bastard who deserves worse than death." Amande said turning and leaving the room without bothering waiting to be dismissed as everyone gaped after her except for three of her sisters.
"I knew she struggled with her depression but I didn't know it was that bad or that she's had it for that long." Brulee murmured but it was heard loud and clear in the dead silent room. Judging by the looks on most of the others faces none of them knew either.
With Amande
Amande selected a crew of sailors from the island that knew what they were doing with the ships and all and used her own money to purchase a boat that wasn't the biggest but it'd be comfortable for her and the crew.
She was ready to leave within an hour and the crew wasn't that far behind her.
"Be safe sister." Effilee said meeting her sister at the port along with the other half of their quadruplets and hugging her.
"I'll do my best…but…" Amande trailed off and her sisters understood immediately.
"We know how much Galette meant to you but remember that you still have people who love you Amande." Mondee said hugging her sister now and looking at her concerned. The quadruplets were the only ones who they knew for sure knew the truth of Galette's parentage. Some of them like Katakuri, Compote, and Perospero suspected but never asked to confirm it, as far as Amande knew her three sisters here were the only ones who knew.
"I know." Amande said quietly as she received a hug from Hachee now.
"We love you Amande and we loved Galette too. She was our favorite niece even though we couldn't tell her the truth about it." Hachee said softly and making Amande nod her head slowly in understanding. It had probably broken her sisters hearts to see Amande over the years, watching her baby girl grow up and having to treat her as another younger sister rather than her daughter, and to watch as Galette grew up never knowing the truth but somehow inexplicably drawn to Amande.
"I know…I promise I'll come back. I don't know when but I will come back." Amande said looking between the other three parts of her soul, after all they said that most twins was one soul in two bodies…well for quadruplets like them it was more like one soul split four ways.
"We'll hold you to that Amande." Mondee said seriously as Amande nodded and stepped onto the boat.
"I'll see you later sisters. When I bring that bastards head back on a pike." Amande said making her sisters nod slightly and smile at her.
"Happy hunting Amande." They all wished her at the same time as the boat began to set sail before the rest of her siblings showed up at the dock.
'Hang on Galette. I'm on my way to find you…and when I do I promise I'll tell you the truth about everything and won't let anyone take you away from me again.'
