(This is mostly going to be an exposition/figuring things out chapter, so no real epic battles this chapter. Terribly sorry about that lol
The Reviews
LogBook27062000: The Pokemon interacting with each other really added in splashes of extra character the story could use. Loved writing those parts!
Megan Romero: We'll definitely do the fight against Kahuna Olivia. But not this chapter, sadly. The next one after this one.)
Aubrey and Jake would be leaving Lush Jungle when the ranger got her Ride Pager ready. "Alright, so we're gonna fly back to Heahea City? Then we'll try and find where Kukui's wife works..."
"Yeah and continue our top-secret investigation." Jake remarked with a chuckle and a flashy detective pose. With a laugh, the two would fly back to Heahea City on the back of Charizards, landing in front of the Pokemon Center.
"Better start looking then, man. Call it out if you see it," Aubrey requested.
"Maybe we should just ask Nurse Joy. Maybe she's met Professor Kukui and his wife before if she lives here." Jake would soon find he didn't need to, hearing a familiar voice nearby.
"Go, Nebby! Use...use Splash!"
"Lillie...?! And is she in a Pokemon battle? That doesn't sound right...Aubrey let's go!" Jake, feeling a sudden surge of urgency, summoned Forrest and the two of them made their way towards the voice. It was a big relief to the two that they saw Lillie in front of a building with a satellite dish out front, not in a battle.
"Pew?" Nebby looked at Lillie curiously.
"Heh...I was just acting like my friends." Lillie would go up to Nebby. "You...you always seem to end up getting hurt, Nebby. I never really liked Pokemon Trainers...or thought to be one myself, for that matter. But when I see them, it's like there never was a door that I always thought was there."
"Well, there was a door, I just kicked it open," Aubrey commented, seeing Lillie turn to them with surprise.
"Hi-ho Lillie! What have you been up to? We've gotten all the Trials done here!" Jake cheered.
"It's been a while since we last met, huh?" Lillie asked. "This laboratory here studies dimensions, did you know that? It's where Professor Burnet works. She's married to Kukui."
"Funny, we were looking for where Kukui's wife worked," Aubrey mused. "Thanks for that."
"She's up on the third floor. I'll take you up there if you don't mind," Lillie offered.
"Ok but do they have access to the 2nd Dimension. Do we know if there's rebellious versions of us fighting against an evil tyrannical scientist?" Jake winked. Aubrey and Lillie offered him flat, confused expressions at his reference. "I...didn't figure you'd know. Ok then, let's go see the missus." Forrest huffed in agreement.
When the three got up to the third floor, it certainly did look like a laboratory, and Kukui was there as well. "Hey there, honey!" Kukui greeted.
A tan skinned woman with white hair would turn to Kukui, and seeing the three enter. "Oh, hi!"
Kukui would notice the others entering, and turned to them. "This here's Professor Burnet, my wife. She's the one running this lab, yeah, and also-"
"Your wife, yeah we know," Aubrey cut him off with a smile. "She looks like a keeper."
"Not in that kind of sense, but yes," Burnet agreed. "Kukui called me a few days ago and told me you two would be stopping by sometime in the near future."
"Well that moment is now. It's great to meet you Mrs. Burnet. We've uncovered a lot of interesting things lately about Alola and it's piqued our curiosity about things like the Ultra Beasts." Jake explained. Truthfully he still wanted to pry Kukui about Team Skull but he knew that could wait.
"You're in luck, then! I've been looking into the Ultra Beasts as part of the mysteries about Alola," Burnet responded. "I'll tell you everything I know."
"Start at the beginning, and when you come to the end, stop." Jake chuckled as he grabbed a seat and Forret perched comfortably in his lap.
Burnet and Aubrey would also take a seat as well, as the professor began sharing her findings on what she knew about the Ultra Beasts. "Right, so, it's extremely rare, but sometimes a hole opens in the sky over Alola. We know this as the Ultra Wormhole. From our research, these holes lead to another dimension. People think there may be a mysterious dimension because of the legends of fearsome Pokemon appearing from these Ultra Wormholes."
"And those fearsome Pokemon are the Ultra Beasts, right?" Aubrey asked.
"Correct." Burnet curtly nodded. "The Ultra Beasts from our research indicate they have properties similar to Pokemon. Types, moves, so on and so forth."
"Has anyone been reported or seen coming through the wormholes? Like alien crop circles or what not?" Jake implored.
"We have heard rumors of two strangely dressed, strangely skinned individuals walking around Alola. Almost like they've never had any sunlight in forever," Burnet noted. "You've run into them, I presume?"
"More than once, yes," The ranger confirmed.
"Yeah...I don't really vibe with them. They seemed to know a Colress fella that I also met though which is neat," Jake added.
Once Aubrey caught Burnet up to speed, she looked like something connected in her mind. "Then I think these Dulse and Zossie characters know a whole bunch more about the Ultra Beasts that we don't. Though it is peculiar why they didn't wish to work with Aether. I wonder why."
"Well...if I was to throw a little 'a Pikipek told me' out there, Aether has a LOT of information. More than they should really for a non-profit Pokemon conservation organization. They themselves know about Team Skull's leader and what type of Pokemon they use but haven't done much with it. They also might have a crooked head of security too. Dulse and Zossie probably don't trust them as a result." Jake said.
"Hmm..." Burnet put a hand to her chin. "It definitely isn't a good look for them. It's not decisive evidence of wrongdoing, and we don't have all the information on this other dimension...but we can't ignore it."
"Yes, I'm inclined to agree, honey," Kukui added. Jake nodded and let them continue to speak.
"But when it comes to Aether, how are we supposed to know if what Jake is saying is true?" Burnet asked.
"Hmm..." Kukui had a smile as he looked to Jake. "Say, Jake...maybe you and Aubrey could help us out with this."
"You got a plan?" Aubrey wondered.
"If you two can go to Aether Paradise, their main base of operations here in Alola, maybe you can try and confirm some of this information for us," The professor suggested. "I won't blame you if you're not up for it, but it's the only way we can know for sure."
"Putting us into the heart of the matter I see. Risky but I live for danger!" Jake smirked. Forrest nodded with determination as well. He wanted to confirm Alola was in good hands or if this organization Aether was doing something that'd harm his homeland.
"And you can count on me to keep you safe," Aubrey promised Jake. Vatonage would have his eyes sparkling at his partner's bravery. He thought it was super cool how she was willing to take any sort of heat for her traveling companion, and eagerly hopped in her lap as a result.
"Thanks Aubrey. We can only thrive together after all. Doing something like this alone would be too much for anyone to take," Jake declared.
"Is there anything else you wanted to know?" Burnet asked.
"Yeah, we were hoping to figure out more about Lillie's living situation," The ranger added. Lillie went quiet at the mention of this.
"Ah, okay. I was told you two were looking out for her," Burnet responded. "Three months ago, I found Lillie lying on a beach. Cosmog, or Nebby in this case, in her bag was also unconscious."
"I did what any sensible and good person would do, and took her back to our place," Burnet answered.
"Yes...I can easily confirm that," Lillie added. "I wanted to learn more about Nebby...I mean Cosmog. So I decided to come speak to Professor Burnet. But...I got lost along the way, and wandered about till I collapsed on the shore. She listened to my story, staying up all night to hear it. Then Kukui lent me his loft to stay in. You've been like...real parents to me."
"That's wonderful!" Jake beamed. Forrest though frowned because in the back of his mind, he knew Lillie probably had a real mother out there somewhere and it seemed a very touchy subject for her. Aubrey meanwhile, had something on her mind, but decided to keep quiet about it for now.
"So, we know the plan then?" Kukui would ask. "You two have your Grand Trial against Olivia, then find a way to Aether Paradise to find out more about them. I want to believe they're good people, but after hearing what you've had to say about them Jake, I can't ignore the possibility that something's going on."
"I knew something was going on with them the moment I heard their name. Not to be biased but I think any big organizations in a region have some underlying priorities and hidden agendas going on with them," Jake said as he stood up and Forrest took to the skies.
"Well, we'll be off. You guys take care!" Aubrey waved the family off before they went back down the elevator, heading outside.
And as they did, they'd notice something in the sky. Some sort of weird, cyan blue ripple appeared for only a brief moment, and then vanished.
"...Was that an aurora?" Jake, after a few strangely intense seconds, spoke up.
"No idea...but it's definitely something worth remembering," Aubrey responded. Taking a moment to compose herself, she said, "Alright, one of us had to ask about Lillie's living situation. If I wasn't going to do it, you would've eventually."
"That's for sure," The Hoenn trainer agreed. "I'm glad you stepped up though. Lillie took it better than I would've originally imagined too."
"Now that all being said..." The ranger folded her arms. "Her story sounds a bit too convenient for me."
"...Well the thing is if she was found unconscious on the shore after being alone and traveling the region at such a young age with an aversion to Pokemon, that doesn't make sense." Jake snapped his fingers, "If I was to flip the chessboard over, the question becomes, why was she alone with no parental supervision? Then the most likely answer becomes 'she ran away from home'. Sad as it is."
"Don't get too trigger happy on getting to the conclusions, man." Aubrey closed her eyes in thought, taking a seat on a bench as they walked along. "Now, let's think here...you do have a point on why she was alone with no parental supervision, but that's not the thing I'm curious about. What I'm mostly curious about is...well, shoot, how do I word this exactly...?"
"About whether or not she encountered an Ultra Wormhole?" Jake suggested.
"No, it's not that," Aubrey responded. "She claims that she passed out on a beach somewhere and then Burnet took her in. But how would that explain Nebby falling unconscious? Unless they were wandering around for days, there'd be no reason someone else wouldn't have stepped in and given them directions, or even some food if they were passed out and famished."
"Didn't she say something along the lines of Nebby having saved her life previously?" Jake remembered. "Maybe Nebby used up all its power to protect her from someone or something and then they both fell unconscious."
"That's true...but what Nebby saved her from, I'm not sure," Aubrey responded, rubbing the back of her head.
"If we go back to the Ultra Wormhole theory, maybe she encountered one, Nebby defended her, she ends up on the beach somewhere, passes out and is found. Or even foregoing a Wormhole, she could've encountered a Team Skull grunt or an Ultra Beast itself, or a stalker, or an imposter, or a talking donkey or anything really." Jake was now being teasing. "I do believe she must've had some sort of previous encounter on that day though."
"That's the best possibility I can think of." Aubrey would stand up. "Right, now Rotom, which way to where Olivia holds her grand trial?"
"You're gonna want to go through Diglett Tunnel to Konikoni City, zzt!" Rotom paused. "I wonder what it'd be like to have a location named after me."
"Rotom Drive?" Jake suggested.
"Yeah, like that!" Rotom happily buzzed.
"Maybe someday that will come true here in Alola or some other Rotom-loving place. Anyways, let's get dig, dig, digging a tunnel before the hyena comes." Jake sang in a sing-song fashion.
As the duo entered Diglett's Tunnel, they would see Olivia near the entrance.
"Hey there!" Olivia greeted. "How's the island challenge going?"
"Awesome! So what's this tunnel's history Olivia?" Jake asked curiously. He knew from Hoenn tunnels could often have a rich lore.
"This tunnel connects Heahea to Konikoni City, dug out by both Diglett and humans working together. It was completed a few years ago," Olivia explained. "Though I should mention earlier the Diglett were all riled up from something, but it's under control now."
"Recently? Could there have been a human-made commotion or some Ultra Beast sighting?" Jake offered.
"From what I know it was Team Skull causing a ruckus," Olivia answered. "But it's nothing to get that concerned over. If you two are as strong as you appear, you'll have no problem getting through here. My shop's in Konikoni. See you there!" She'd head off after that.
"Ok then Olivia!" Jake waved goodbye to her. He then sighed in a relaxed manner. The idea of Team Skull causing a ruckus was much less worrying than before and almost felt like something out of a slice of life anime. Granted he knew that they'd have to do something to help them out later but for now he could be content that Team Skull wasn't truly after anything heinous like the other teams.
"I think that means she dealt with them," Aubrey mused. "Anyway, let's get moving. We're burning daylight."
"Not a night owl?" Jake asked as they headed through the tunnel. Forrest smiled, amused at that joke. He most certainly WAS a night owl.
"Nah, I'm just eager." Aubrey would follow along, Vatonage running alongside her.
As they continued their way through the tunnel, Jake got bored and decided to ask Aubrey a few things. "So...favorite Pokemon Type?"
"Steel type," Aubrey answered easily.
"Epic. Matches your sturdy, resilient personality. Mine is Grass obviously." Jake said, petting Forrest on the head as they walked. "Favorite region?"
"...I feel like I have to say Fiore here," Aubrey chuckled. "You're the same for Hoenn, aren't you?"
"Yeah! Though I've always admired Kalos visually and geographically, Hoenn's got the best people and a really good Pokedex and system going on there," Jake grinned.
She was ready to answer the next question when they would come across two Aether employees, both looking tired.
"Phew..." One of them breathed a sigh of relief. "We finally managed to calm down all those Diglett." It was then they noticed the two.
"Oh! Alola!" The other one greeted.
"Greetings, Aether employees. How goes it?" Aubrey greeted in kind.
"It seems like Team Skull was responsible for riling up all the Diglett here...but the kahuna took care of them," One of the employees answered. "Her Rock types made short work of their Pokemon!"
"Rock types...alright. Tenor and Don have got this on lock," Aubrey mused.
"Well so does Dew and Forrest. Hazel too probably." Jake mused with her.
"We'll be on our way, take care." Aubrey would wave the employees off as the two went through the rest of the tunnel, only having to deal with Diglett and Zubat.
"Ok...so...favorite Pokemon of all time?" Jake asked with a big grin. Did the Pokemon Ranger play favorites?
"Well...I do love all Pokemon...but I'm admittedly not that crazy about Hypno," Aubrey confided.
"..." Jake simply understood exactly why that was after all the nightmare fuel regarding Hypno's lore. "My favorite Pokemon is actually Bellossom and I have one back in Hoenn. Such a graceful dancer and elegant fighter."
"Can't wait to meet your old team," Aubrey mused as an officer walked out of a police station at their end of the tunnel.
"Pardon me..." He began. "Are you the ranger that's been undergoing a island trial?"
"Yeah, that's me. Aubrey Bradford. Whatcha need?" The ranger answered.
"My partner's been acting weird recently, and I can't quite put my finger on why. Could you go inside the station and see what's going on with him?" The officer requested.
"... Why ask random travelers and not another police officer from somewhere else with more experience and knowledge of the force?" Jaked asked with a concerned look. He never understood why that was a thing in the cinema and why it was now apparently a thing in real life. Sure Aubrey was a ranger but it still seemed like a rather unwise decision on the officer's part.
"I'm not gonna question it," Aubrey flatly told Jake. "Sure, we can look into it."
"Thank you. I'm the only one at the station right now with him," The officer thanked as Aubrey headed inside. She'd see the partner in question facing a billboard in the back of the building.
"I swear this better not be a prank show we're in." Jake groaned in annoyance under his breath to his partner. Clearing his throat, he then promptly addressed the officer. "Excuse me sir? You doing ok today?"
"Diiii..." The officer responded. Aubrey paused for a moment, but knew what this was about almost instantly.
"Ditto, huh?" She'd grab her Styler as the 'officer', as it turned out, transformed into a Ditto!
"Dittooooo!" The Normal type cheerfully cried with a laugh.
"Yeesh..." Jake lurched back slightly as it was rather creepy how it unfolded. Forrest looked ready to enter the fray but waited for Aubrey's first move.
Aubrey's first move was the all familiar shout of "Capture...on!" as she flicked out her Capture Disc. The Ditto transformed into Forrest to make things a bit more interesting for the ranger to deal with, but with her experience, it wouldn't take long to tame the troublemaker.
"Ok so...I guess it's finally happened. Aubrey it was nice knowing you. The Pokemon uprising has begun. I blame Aether and the Ultra Beasts. "Jake murmured tragically though dramatically. Forrest seemed doubtful that it was all doom and gloom though he did think something was odd about this occurrence.
"Oh, quit being a drama queen," Aubrey rolled her eyes. "Either way, we better go bring this little guy to the cop out front."
"Ditto..." The Ditto giggled before deciding to transform into Aubrey for a moment, trying to get a reaction out of her. She'd merely chuckle at the sight before asking the Ditto to return back to its normal form.
"HAH! Sucks to be you!" Jake nyeh'd the Ditto childishly for trying to psych out Aubrey like that. When they reconvened with the cop, Jake took the lead. "So it turned out your partner...was a Ditto. That or a Ditto snuck it's way into the station and pretended to be him while the real cop was somewhere else."
"Wha- this Ditto was my partner!? Are the Ditto Five responsible for this?!" The officer seemed quite alarmed by this development.
"Ditto Five? What, is that some kinda gang around here?" Aubrey raised an eyebrow.
"The Ditto Five transform into humans, likely because they enjoy humans so much," The officer elaborated. "And they are very troublesome!"
"Ditto..." The Ditto looked down at the ground.
"They don't mean any harm, but they are still a public nuisance." The officer would see his partner showing up, oblivious to what was going on.
"Sorry! Had a cold and was bedridden. What's going on here?" His partner asked.
"It seems like this prankster here is a wanted Pokemon for impersonating humans," Aubrey informed.
"...Oh dear..." The officer's partner frowned. "No doubt they're still messing around in Konikoni City."
"Well that's not good if they actually hurt someone in the process yeah... Better a group than an army I always say." Jake said. "Are there any other traits or tips we can use to identify them so we don't cause a big stir?"
"There have been reports of people who may be Ditto," The officer answered.
"Say no more. I'll gladly look into it," Aubrey offered without hesitation. "Smaller jobs like these are what we call quests, Jake. It's all part of a ranger's patrol."
"I'm perfectly fine with doing something like this if it means helping the populace and preventing harm from coming to anyone." Jake nodded in agreement. He was more than willing to do this. Forrest nodded as well.
"Then let's..." Aubrey would strike her ranger's pose, Vatonage still not knowing what he should be doing, but happily bounced around his partner's feet. "do this!"
"Roger!" Jake flashed his own pose with Forrest doing his own. The Ditto Five Quest was ON! "So the best way to deal with something like this is to not draw too much attention to ourselves and to lure the target away from a public space."
"Maybe you can also tell us where these reports have been coming in from, sir?" Aubrey suggested.
"Right. There've been reports of a seller interacting strangely with customers, the flavors in my favorite restaurant in town have seem to change, people are reporting the masseuse in town is leaving them feeling sore, and even the Kahuna has been shown to be acting strangely," The officer supplied them with the information. "Defeat or capture the Ditto. Preferably, I'd like it if you could merely capture them."
"Well one of those is easy, the Olivia one. The others just make me uncomfortable so let's get to it." Jake nodded and pulled up a map of the City and the designated locations for quick reference.
"Let's get to it, man." Aubrey would head off towards Konikoni City, ready for what laid ahead.
"So let's see...I think we should start with the masseuse since that is not only disturbing to imagine a Ditto doing that but also because we must protect physical wellness. Also it's the closest." Jake said.
"Right." They'd go to where the masseuse was, and lo and behold, they'd hear the same noise from her as they did from the first Ditto.
Jake tried to think of a way to safely lull the masseuse away without disturbing the other patrons and got an idea. He summoned Hazel and quickly gave her the rundown on what was going on. Despite being the newest member of the team, Hazel was understanding and perfectly willing to help with this. The sweet Posy Picker Pokemon flew by the Masseuse and dropped some harmless flowers upon it to catch it's attention and gauge a reaction out of the disguised Ditto.
Sure enough, Jake's gambit would work as it started luring the masseuse away. Hazel giggled and soon led the masseuse, increasingly a bit agitated at being pelted with soothing flowers, outside the shop where Aubrey stepped forward to meet it head on.
"Capture...on!" The Ditto was caught by surprise with Jake's ploy, snapping out of its transformed state, this time taking on the appearance of Hazel. It wouldn't seem to help much as this Ditto was tamed. "That's two." Jake and Hazel shared a hi-five and Forrest seemed very pleased with Hazel's first outing.
"Dartrix!" Forrest praised her outwardly.
"Comfey!" Hazel giggled and said it was happy to show some of her natural flower power.
"Vee vee!" Vatonage cried, seeing the real masseuse coming to her shop.
"Hmm...strange. People in town were raving about their massages. Said they felt like they were melting," She said.
"Um..." Aubrey awkwardly averted her eyes.
"Trust us, it's better this way. Now the job can be fulfilled by someone who needs the cash," Jake teased.
Once they left the masseuse, Aubrey would ask, "Alright, so where to now?"
"Next should be the restaurant. If I know my battling cuisine places, this restaurant is probably not like that. We'll have to sneak into the kitchen somehow," Jake said.
"Well lucky for you, I'm pretty decent and slipping in and out of places without being seen," Aubrey mused.
"Ok, I'll leave this to you while I get us some linner." Jake winked. With that in place, Aubrey would break off from Jake and look to get in through the employee's entrance, leaving Jake to enter through the front.
Jake, accompanied by Hazel and Forrest, asked for a takeout menu and started examining while also surveying to see if he saw any chefs or waiters out and about that were acting out of the ordinary. There'd be mainly one chef on duty at the time, with a blank expression on his face - no doubt it was a Ditto.
When Jake looked back at the menu, he'd hear the clattering of pots and pans in the kitchen, complete with the noises of 'Ditto!', the patrons in shock at what was going on in there.
"Oh gosh...I hope Aubrey's ok." Jake now seemed nervous for Aubrey's chances. The clattering would stop as Aubrey would enter the dining room, sporting only a light bruise above her right eye, with the third Ditto by her side with Vatonage.
"That's the first time I've ever had a Pokemon try smacking me with a frying pan..." She mentioned.
"Yikes..." Hazel approached Aubrey's wound with an icecube to rub next to it. "Well good job getting it. Want anything? I was eyeing the chili cheese dogs for some nice comfort food that we can take on the go." As Aubrey took a look at the menu, they'd see the chef running in the dining room, in a tizzy.
"Oh! I'm late, I'm late!" He took a look around seeing that there weren't impatient diners. "Wait...who was working the kitchen?"
"Would you believe a Pokemon without opposable thumbs?" Jake teased.
After taking one look at the Ditto, the chef would answer with, "...Actually yes." Jake nodded and smiled and then looked at Aubrey expectantly to see what she might want. "How about a nice bean and cheese burrito?" He suggested.
"Hmm...yeah, I can give it a try," Aubrey agreed. They ordered a Chili Cheese Dog and a Bean and Cheese Burrito of which they got in less than ten minutes and started enjoying on their way out.
"Mmmm! So scrumptious and cheesy. I could eat three of these but we got work to do so I stuck to just one." Jake grinned.
"Yeah...this ain't too bad," Aubrey mused, taking a bite of her food. "Alright, so which Ditto do we have left?"
"Olivia's and the one selling stuff unfavorably. Now I'm guessing the seller is at a stand or something," Jake said.
"Mmm, let's get looking." Aubrey and Jake would have to look for a little while, but they would notice a hiker looking man acting weirdly. This was probably the seller they heard about.
Taking another bite of his almost done chilli cheese dog, Jake asked the 'man'. "So...how's the weather been for you?"
"Di...ttooooooo!" The seller would transform into a Ditto, this time taking on the form of Vatonage to try and trip up Aubrey with a dash towards her.
"Oh, real charming!" Aubrey exclaimed, flicking out the Capture Disc to round up this Ditto.
"Bad move Ditto." Jake agreed at the unfavorable act.
It would be a bad move indeed, soon becoming tamed by Aubrey. They would then see the real herb seller approaching the spot the Ditto stood.
"Sorry for being away for a while. Captain Mallow was helping me pick some herbs," He said.
"That was nice of her, glad that you two had a safe trip. Nothing too serious happened while you were gone." Jake said reassuringly.
"That's good to hear," The herb seller mused.
"Alright, one more to go," Aubrey had a jovial expression on her face as Vatonage jumped up in her arms.
"Hopefully Olivia's isn't some superboss Ditto." Jake mumbled. "See her anywhere?" Forrest, who was flying from the skies, soon spotted a glimpse of her from his vantage point and alerted the two of them hastily. Forrest would alert them to the cape, where this potential Olivia impostor was seen. Jake watched Olivia carefully, seeing her simply chantaying around and not doing anything particularly suspicious. He then noticed her look towards them with a familiarly Ditto-looking expression.
"Don't give us that look. You know why we are here and we got your pals already. So you can either stand down quietly or be outdanced." He challenged. After seeing Aubrey's Styler in hand, this last Ditto would transform, and come quietly.
"That's more like it." The ranger put her Styler back on her hip, giving a nod to Jake. "Alright. Let's bring 'em in."
"Whoo! We did it!" Hazel and Forrest both looked very relieved as their trainer finished their chilli dog with a celebratory bite.
The duo would triumphantly return to the police station, Aubrey saying, "We rounded 'em all up for ya!"
"Thank you for dealing with the Ditto. They act weird and can't talk, so it's good you can tell the difference between Ditto and humans," The officer mused, then presented an interesting theory. "What if Ditto that could fully understand humans' minds appeared?"
"That...sounds like an excellent series in the making," Jake gave a lighthearted response.
"Yeah, it sounds great," Aubrey agreed. "Hey Jake, I think I saw a boutique in town, wanna go check it out?"
"Oh yeah! Sure! There's always a time for fashion review!" Jake beamed as he returned Hazel to her Heal Ball.
(Not as action packed as before, but the Ditto Five sidequest was a fun little diversion in Ultra. Next time, we'll be adding fossils to the team, and battling Kahuna Olivia! It's gonna be hype, see ya then.)
