It's been six months since Kugo and (Y/N)'s marriage almost ended. Things have been great, except for one problem...
Kugo doesn't care if he's not on the top ten heroes list, or even if he's lowered on the list than twelve. As a hero, you have to not let things get to you; but no one's perfect. Some heroes worry more than others, are easier bothered by things than others. A few heroes have unfortunately made it on a list called heroes that look like civilians. The worst that happens is people scream 'monster', but that still hurts Kugo. Normally it's only citizens until today...
"Help! The monster is trying to kill me!" The thief Kugo has been chasing screams.
Immediately, Kugo stops in his tracks. The surrounding citizens look at him as if the thief is right, not caring the thief is still running away from Kugo. Kugo doesn't bother telling the other heroes as he can't hide the evidence of what happened.
The robbery happened late at night. Kugo thought his wife (Y/N) would have been asleep by now. Kugo quietly walks into the house, closes the door, and takes his shoes off before going to the bedroom.
(Y/N) is awake, sitting at the edge of the bed. She knows by how Kugo walks into the room that someone said it. He stands up as Kugo takes his socks off, unphased his wife isn't asleep — or so (Y/N) thought until he tackles her into a tight embrace. It's rare for Kugo to cry, but (Y/N) knows one of the few times is after Kugo has heard people call him a monster many times. It hurts (Y/N) hearing her husband cry and knowing the reason.
She kisses him as she rubs his back, "I'm sorry. You shouldn't have to do this for me."
(Y/N) makes him look at her, "I'll help you through anything. Don't leave me out."
Kugo nodded, and laid on the bed, but (Y/N) laid on top of him. Kugo wanted to get up, but the reader stopped him.
"Just close your eyes and sleep, Kugo... I'll stake care of you."
That made Kugo's heart melt, and he became putty. He made a whale noise as she kissed his snout. He then slept as (Y/N) took care of him, happy to be married to a hero.
Kugo has the day off today unless he's needed for hero work. (Y/N) hopes a nice day together at home will help him. She tried to surprise him with breakfast before he awoke — even if it's common for the guy to surprise his girl with breakfast in bed — but Kugo walks into the kitchen before she's finished cooking.
"Oh, I uh..."
Kugo laughs and kisses her, "well, we'll at least have breakfast together."
He sits at the island as (Y/N) finishes breakfast.
The two talk about plans for the day. A simple stay home and watch movies, hoping Kugo doesn't have to leave today.
It's a nice day, and Kugo is happy once again. (Y/N) hopes it's quite a while before someone calls her husband a monster again. It would be great if people didn't, but she knows that's unlikely.
