The Reviews

LogBook: I'm really glad you enjoyed this story man, I had an absolute blast writing the main adventure. Pretty sure writing up the rest of this will be just as fun.)

It was a few hours after Aubrey and Vanessa had their new assignment to being Alola's Area Rangers, and the first person to come see them during their dinner was Hau. He was quite teary-eyed, running over and hugging them both.

"I have...no words for how happy I am to have at least two of my friends stay in Alola with me," He began, choked up in joy filled tears. Despite having had his chance to say goodbye to Lillie, he was still hung up on that.

"So are we, Hau!" Vanessa responded with a winning smile. "Besides, you still have other friends here."

"You bet I do..." Hau would release them.

"So you wanna say or do anything, now that we're Alola's area rangers?" Aubrey asked.

"I just wanna let you know that I'm gonna give it my best to become the reigning and defending champion of the Alola League," The young lad remarked. "I don't expect you to give me a fight for it, Aubrey, but if you ever wanna give it a try..."

The older ranger couldn't help but playfully roll her eyes. "I getcha, I getcha. We'll be pulling for ya, man."

"Same. And hey if you ever want to have a battle against a Mega Evolved Pokemon, I'll do it for ya," Vanessa offered. "I just need to get the rest of my team back from Kanto."

"I'll keep that in mind, Vanessa!" Hau smiled, lightning up at the mention of Kanto. "Oh yeah...Lillie wanted to pass something on to you. I don't know if I forgot to tell you earlier, but she was going to Kanto. She wanted to thank you for getting Rainbow Rocket out of there. It's part of why she chose that region."

"Oh? Well she is welcome. It was just a part of the job," The younger ranger humbly responded.

"And you can tell her we'll be putting 'em down behind bars where they belong by the time we're through with 'em!" Aubrey enthusiastically added.

Hau laughed. "I'll be sure to let her know you're still the same Aubrey we know when I write to her. Take care!" He'd give Alola's wave and head off, clearly going off to prepare his team for Kukui's tournament.

Aubrey chuckled. "I don't know how anyone can hate him, he's a real beacon of optimism we could all use in our lives."

"Agreed, Brey!" Vanessa responded.

"Alright, so...you have any idea what our HQ is gonna be like? How we're gonna tackle Hastings's orders?" Aubrey folded her arms on the table, having finished her dinner.

"Well I know we are going to be getting a place close to Professor Burnet's lab," Vanessa explained. "That way she can inform us in case we get any Ultra Wormhole readings."

"I get the feeling those Ultra Recon Squad guys are gonna be getting in contact with us in the near future," Aubrey mused. "They'd have all the information we'd need for dealing with the UBs."

"True. And what I said would help regarding Rainbow Rocket if they show their heads around here...as for Team Skull…" Vanessa paused to think about that. "I think we would need to get all the Kahunas and Professor Kukui in the same place. While I doubt Hapu would know anything, she should be part of the conversation."

"And figure out why Team Skull was outcasted in the first place?" Aubrey continued.

"Exactly. Once we know that we can figure out where to go from there." Vanessa had finished her dinner shortly after.

"Yeah. For now though...I say we wait till our HQ is all ready to go before we take on area ranger duties?" Aubrey suggested. "Can't really be area rangers if we're operating out of a hotel room."

"No we cannot." Vanessa smiled. "So a couple of days off before the HQ is done, and we get our two new recruits. Did a bit of reading and they seem promising."

"Oh yeah? What are they like?" Aubrey asked.

"First up we have a ranger from the Galar Region. Her name is Isabella Thompson. Her partner Pokemon is a Zorua. They seem to think she could be pretty good at information gathering and intelligence. They also note she is a bit of a prankster and is known to slip into a thick accent when something surprises or angers her enough."

Vanessa would hand this file over to Aubrey for her to look over. She would look to see a picture of a girl around their age wearing a Zorua color inspired version of Aubrey's Uniform only more suited to stealth - in other words, no armor, but it has a utility belt. She has medium length wavy black hair with red streaks in it and red eyes. She has a black and red Dynamax Band on the arm opposite of her Styler.

After looking over her profile, Aubrey would ask, "And the other one?"

"His name is Finn Bronte, says he is from Unova, specifically Virbank City. He worked as a mechanic at Pokestar Studios. It says here his partner Pokemon is a Galvantula." Vanessa would hand Aubrey the second file with a picture of Finn. Standing five foot five and weighing 130 pounds, Light black hair in a short, messy style, fair skin, and dark blue eyes. He wears the Fiore Ranger uniform with a yellow base bodysuit with black trim under a dark purple vest with a lighter purple trim, and matching black socks and shoes.

"Alright...looking like a good duo they're sending our way," The older ranger noted.

"Yeah. Oh, they also have a new uniform in the works for me and it should be here with the rest of my team when they arrive," Vanessa added.

"Sounds great! I'm gonna check out the fun stuff they got here because girl, not only do we deserve it, but they've apparently got some cool stuff here at the resort!" Aubrey beamed.

"Oh I am with you there!" With that said, the two would go off to experience the luxuries of the Hano Grand Resort.

Meanwhile Jake was currently staying in an apartment building on Alola as it appeared he had wanted to take some more time in Alola before having to return home. He beamed brightly as he was on a phone call with his lover.

"Oh Andrei the journey was incredibly crazy! I got punched in the chest by a fit but antagonistic girl, I survived an encounter with the same notorious Ultra Beast jellyfish on two different instances, I saw a lot of hot men that were not as hot as you but certainly worth writing about, and I had like a rival! A genuine, fine rival and she was also the most pure-hearted badass I ever did see. She protected me in your stead and she defeated me in the final Championship battle only to follow her heart to become a premier ranger of Alola." Jake explained in poetic prose.

Andrei gave his response as Jake stared out the window to see the view of the region. A region he had thought of as biased and terribly unsuited for being a safe region to live in but had opened up and blossomed like a tropical flower into being a paradise in it's own right.

"Yeah, she would give Brawly a heck of a good fight that's for sure. There was this really sweet merchant girl who I'm pretty sure was fawning over her, and it was the most adorable thing! I really hope they continue to see each other after all is said and done. I also met the infamous 'Mega Evolution' basher of the region and it turns out she was just a misunderstood and sensible woman. She was from Hoenn around the Mega Kyogre incident. I think that Pokemon acceptance will be fully on the rise from here on out." Jake explained cheerfully.

Andrei, who clearly had fallen in love with Jake in spite of his tendency to be bumbling and melodramatic, had nothing but radiant praise to share towards him. He would then ask the important question about what Jake intended to do from here on out.

"Well seeing as I've grown to admire and love Alola...and I'm not the Champion but I wouldn't mind trying to find something else ambitious to do here, I was hoping to stay here just for a few more days and then come around back to Hoenn, taking you here on a trip, and then go from there? Is that ok?" Jake asked sincerely.

Andrei agreed and Jake's heart and excitement pulsated with joy. 'What happens in Alola would stay in Alola' he joked to Andrei when he first left to the region. Now it was more along the lines of 'What happens in Alola makes me want to stay in Alola with you.'

"Thanks for understanding babe. Oh I can't wait to introduce you to everyone I met here! Although fair bit of warning, there are a few Boutiques you gotta watch out for though there are certainly some amazing shops that rise above the rest. You just gotta visit the right island for them. I love you deeply Andrei and look forward to seeing you and talking to you some more. Call anytime if you are impatient for more deets but right now I got a Mantine Surfing appointment." Jake giggled.

Andrei was all too excited himself at the opportunity to be in a new region with his crush. They parted ways amorously and carried on with their days. Jake felt all too inspired to make the best and most of his time before he'd have to say goodbye for what could potentially be forever but he inwardly hoped it wouldn't. He was also hoping to see Lillie and Aubrey again before he had to go, even if the former had gone on her journey.

"Well, all I know is that I gotta expect the unexpected with them eh?" Jake told himself optimistically as he headed out the door.

A few days later…

"Today's the day, Van! We're moving into our new HQ!" Aubrey sure sounded excited, having woken up on the right side of the bed.

"Yes it is!" Vanessa was also excited. "New people, and I get to show my Pokemon!"

"Oh yeah, I did wanna see what kind of team you had in Kanto," Aubrey mused. So the two would head on down to their new HQ, a red building with the symbol of the Ranger Union proudly on the front of the building. With a proud smile on her face, Aubrey would head inside first, eager to see what they had.

The first room they saw has a nice, welcoming atmosphere and places to sit, as well as a front desk with an intercom button on it. It looked like this was some sort of public room to take requests from the Alolan populace. Behind the desk is a door that heads deeper into the building.

"Okay, so this is the lobby. Cool, cool," Aubrey mused. "Pretty standard."

"Yeah. And it has an intercom to call someone up front…" Vanessa noted. "I imagine we can let people into the back as well from the other side."

"Oh yeah. Speaking of which..." Being the gal she was, Aubrey vaulted over the desk to see what was behind the door.

Vanessa would chuckle as the door gets opened revealing a hallway with a staircase at the back with a set going up and a set going down. The hallway has two doors in it and they check these out first. The one on the left seems to be a mission control type of room with a large table in the center with a device on it as well as a big screen. The table has the ranger logo on it as well as a holograph over the device.

"So this is where we'll be having our briefings with our rangers and the chief," Aubrey noted, looking into the room on the right. This room was a medical room fully stocked and furnished for both people and Pokemon.

Vanessa's eyes sparkled. "Ooooooh man."

"We might as well take a moment to get familiar with this room, Van," Aubrey snickered. "We're gonna be here quite a couple times in the future, I can tell."

"Most likely, yes," Vanessa chuckled.

"With all the trappingzzz and medicines Vanessa could ever ask for to take care of you, Aubrey!" Rotom Dex!

"Hey! There you are!" Aubrey exclaimed. "I was wondering where you went off to."

"Well here I am! The Ranger Union saw fit to promote me as well!" Rotom explained. "So I'll be your living buddy, taking care of all the digital info you could need from me."

"That'd be a big help, yeah," The older ranger agreed.

"Nice. So you're going to be keeping us informed of any emergencies then?" Vanessa guessed.

"Yup! I'll keep you informed!" Rotom answered cheerily. "Oh, and don't worry. There's at least one room in here for each of you rangers to be happy with."

"Well no points guessing what mine's gonna be!" Aubrey laughed.

"Oh, must be a gym then," Vanessa commented. They would continue poking around the HQ to see what else was in the facility. Deciding to head down the stairs first, they would see that it was indeed a fully stocked gym.

"Heh, now we're talking!" Aubrey had a bright smile. "I'm gonna make good use of this place!"

"Yes you will," Vanessa responded.

Seeing that the basement is a gym this time they head upstairs to see the upper floor. Here they would see that there are four bedrooms ready to be moved into. Each of them had their name marked on the front of the door.

"Ooh, that's nice. We have our own rooms assigned to us," The older ranger noted with a smile.

"Yup! Oh, looks like we have one more room here," Vanessa noted.

So she would open it and find that they have a nice living room and kitchen area with an electric stove/oven combo, all the appliances and dishes they would need, a nice dining room table, and a fairly large couch with some recliners in front of a large TV, complete with a Nintendo Switch.

"Whatcha got over there, Van?" Aubrey asked.

"Living area," Vanessa informed. "Pretty nice kitchen set-up, large TV. Newest game system from Nintendo too."

"Nice! Looks like we're all set." Aubrey would go to get settled in her room, waiting for their new hires to arrive.

"Yup!" Vanessa would look in the fridge. "Okay, I can whip up a quick lunch. I bet they will probably be hungry and jetlagged."

"You do that!" The older ranger called.

Soon enough, the first of the new recruits would arrive. This one being Finn.

"Hello? I was told this is where my post would be?" The Unovan called through the intercom, his Galvantula scuttling in behind him.

"Oh! Coming!" Vanessa responded. "I'll be right there!" As she said this Isabella would come in as well.

"Oh, is this the local Ranger Union branch?" The Galarian asked Finn.

"Well, that's what I was told by the locals here," Finn responded to Isabella. "Guess you're my new co-worker."

"Seems like it!" Isabella held out her hand to Finn. "Name's Isabella Thompson. My friends call me Izzy. That little guy over there is Zorua."

"Finn Bronte." He casually returned the handshake. "I'm from Virbank and have worked with some of the biggest names in the film industry. Though it was mostly behind the scenes mechanical stuff...my folks still thought it was cool."

"Oooh." Isabella sounded impressed. "Any movies you worked on specifically? Might have seen em!"

"Full Metal Cop and Brycen-Man were the main two," Finn explained. "Even got to train with the big man Brycen himself."

"Oooh, nice!" Isabella beamed. At this point Vanessa would come on out.

"Ah good, you're both here!" Vanessa greeted.

"Nice to meet you, Ranger Parker," Finn greeted. "I'm to be your new mechanic if I read right."

"Yes, and it seems like Isabella here is to be our information gatherer," Vanessa noted.

"Judging by the fact her partner is a Zorua...yes, recon seems to be like her specialty," Finn concurred.

"Yeah." Isabella fed her Zorua a Poffin and pats his head.

Aubrey would soon come on down to meet the two newcomers. "Hey there!"

"Hey Ranger Bradford," Finn waved. "So you were the first champ?"

"Yup, that's me!" Aubrey answered gladly.

"Pleased to meet you both!" Isabella smiled. "And please call me Izzy. My full name is a bit of a mouthful. "

"That's fine. No need for formality as long as we are not giving a report to the Union," Vanessa responded.

"Yeah, we're all friends here," Aubrey added. "So, wanna have some lunch? Jetlag hitting ya?"

"Mmm...not as bad on my end," Finn responded. "I just slept the whole ride here."

"Lucky. My flight was pretty early." Isabella yawned. "But I can stay up till night. Gotta get my new sleep schedule in place, yeah?"

"Yeah," Aubrey responded, remembering how her trip to Alola was by boat, so jet lag wasn't too much of a problem for her.

"So about that lunch..." Finn looked hungry despite the lack of jet lag.

"Oh right, up the stairs past the door. I made some sandwiches for everyone." Vanessa gestured towards the door.

"Great! I could eat a whole Appletun right now." Isabella was first through, followed by the other three shortly afterwards. Once they settled into their meal, Aubrey would be first to ask about Isabella's region.

"So, our merchant friend we met during our mission here went to Galar shortly after Jake and I had our final battle," Aubrey explained. "You meet Kiara Dermott? From Sevii Mercantile?"

"Hmm...that name doesn to ring a bell, but before I came here, I did hear from me Mum that that there was a new merchant poking around asking about the Dynamax Bands." Isabella would hold up her arm sporting the Dynamax Band.

"Yeah, that would probably be her," Aubrey chuckled, showing her own Z-Power Ring. "So what does Dynamax do differently than Z-Moves?" She gave them the spiel about Z-Moves.

"Oh, well then. Mind if I connect my phone here to your TV?" Isabella held up her black colored Rotom Phone.

"Oh, go right ahead!" The Summerland native gave Isabella the go ahead. Isabella would go ahead and connect it to the screen, bringing up an exhibition match in the Galarian Pokemon League between gym leader Raihan and the then champion Leon.

"...Oh dang...I heard you Galarians loved battling but I didn't think it was stadium worthy!" Vanessa exclaimed.

"Yeah well the reason for that is as follows!" Isabella grinned.

They would see a trainer recall their Pokemon and see a Poke Ball get bigger before being thrown behind them. The result was a Pokemon the size of a building showing up behind them.

"...Holy mother of Arceus," Vanessa went wide-eyed.

"Oh man..." Aubrey breathed. "That's way more noticeable than Z-Moves."

Finn however, remained neutral. "Hmm. Interesting. If I came from any other background I would've been stammering like a shocked spectator."

"Oh just wait!" Isabella told Finn, really wanting to impress him.

The other trainer with a noticeable cape and a Charizard would recall his Charizard and throw it behind him resulting in a brand new form of Charizard.

"And MEGA EVOLUTION TOO?!" Vanessa screamed, causing Aubrey and Finn to flinch.

This here is Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing," Isabella began with her massive exposition dump. "It lasts three turns of Battle and makes all move Max Moves as well as increased HP. Max Moves have a special secondary effect like stat buffs or nerfs as well as setting the weather. They also have perfect accuracy no matter what can only be blocked by the move Max Guard. It's effectively Protect. The effects of this transformation effectively make a Pokemon Immune to any Weight based Move and can even nullify the downsides of Abilities like Hustle. The Other Pokemon is a Gigantamax. Each Pokemon Species who can do that has a G-Max Move that only they can do."

"Okay, Van, could you not scream in my ear like that?" Aubrey asked, rubbing her head.

"Uh Sorry Brey. I was just surprised," Vanessa apologized.

"Right well, this is wonderful and all, but I would like to say Unova did this first," Finn mentioned. "You know of the Pokemon Golurk, right?"

"Yeah, we have them in Galar," Isabella answered.

"Then you know how tall they are without Dynamax." Finn folded his arms. "So what's the catch with Dynamax?"

Hmm Let's see. It's one use per battle, and as I said it only lasts three turns," Isabella responded. "Also can only be done in the Galar Region due to the unique Galar Particles in the atmosphere. The stadiums where most of the gyms and the League are spots rich in this energy."

"Wait, most gyms?" Vanessa raised an eyebrow. "Which one does not have this?"

"Spikemuth. Where we have a Dark-type gym," Isabella informed.

"Is it possible to be a champion without Dynamax?" Aubrey then asked. "I mean, I became champion without using a Z-Move once."

"I don't see why not, provided you can get a good defense going," Isabella responded. "Though fair warning, Max Moves will hit through Protect but they will get weakened."

"Of course they do..." Finn leaned back in his chair. "So those bands of yours are just mere trinkets, I presume."

"I only keep mine on out of courtesy," Aubrey confided. "Never really saw a reason to get rid of it."

"Mine is more a sign of my heritage, and a gift from the Dojo I was training at," Isabella added.

"Dojo?" Aubrey sounded interested now.

"Oh yeah I trained in Galar Karate over at the Dojo on the Isle of Armor. The dojo master was a previous Champion of the region, Mustard. If you can truly prove yourself you earn the Armor of the Dojo, a Pokemon called Kubfu."

"Kubfu?" Finn raised an eyebrow. Once Isabella showed them, Aubrey was in love.

"Oh my Arceus, it's so cute! It looks like a plushie toy!" She beamed.

"Aww…" Vanessa fawned over its cuteness too.

"Also a legendary, technically," Isabella added.

"Izzy, I'm gonna be real with you - if something cute like Manaphy counts as a legendary, I believe you," Aubrey responded.

"It can also Evolve! It becomes Urshifu which has 2 Forms, Single Strike and Rapid Strike based on the fighting style it learns." Isabella shows them a picture of the 2 forms, the main difference being the stance they are in.

"Lemme guess, you went with this one?" Finn wagered, pointing to the Single Strike Urshifu, since it looked like a Dark type to him.

"If I manage to earn a Kubfu of my own, yes, I would go with SIngle Strike as it is part Dark," Isabella answered. "Also Fighting. Rapid Strike is Water/Fighting."

"Oh, those are two good types," Vanessa remarked.

"Okay, so...back up a second. You managed to get through the entire island trials without using a single Z-Move, Aubrey?" Finn then asked.

"Yeah, I did. What about it?" Aubrey responded.

"...I have to wonder how you managed to pull that off," Finn admitted. "If you're able to do that, I'm sure there's someone crazy enough to try and become the champ of Galar without using Dynamax once."

"That sounds impressive," Isabella mused. The group would look at Isabella.

"Well? Is there someone like that?" Aubrey asked.

Hmm... If there is, I have not heard of them," Isabella admitted. "I would not be surprised if there was someone like that though."

"Maybe there's a way to check..." Finn would search on local news in the Galar region to see what the current information he could find on the league there was.

"Did you find anything, Finn?" Vanessa asked.

"Yes, there does seem to be someone who fits that bill," Finn responded. "Some young lady by the name of Lauren Collins...there's no information on where she comes from, though. Everything about her past other than she's a soccer star is a mystery."

"Huh...interesting…" Isabella said, surprised by this. No background? She just showed up one day and was blazing through the ranks?

"It says here she's not a crowd favorite for the tactics she uses against Dynamax," Finn continued. "She uses Protect the second they use Dynamax, and then goes for a move to be immune from most attacks for the next two turns. She then finishes the fight normally."

"Huh…" It dawned on Isabella what was happening. "Ah, using stuff like Fly and Dig, eh? Clever."

"Well it doesn't sound like the people of Galar like it," Aubrey noted. "Which is a bunch of crap. The Kahunas here didn't once say anything bad about me not using Z-Moves."

"Ah who cares what those bloody twats think?" Isabella agreed, her vocabulary and accent showing. "Everyone has their own strategy, and I applaud her for her creativity."

"Oh same. Where I'm from creative thinking was the way to go," Finn mused.

"Anyway...you two gonna finish those?" Aubrey asked, referring to their lunches.

"Oh sorry. Got carried away in the conversation." Isabella sat back down to finish her food, as did Finn. Once they were done, the Galarian picked up the conversation. "Finn, what's the movie industry like?"

"It was a pretty big operation. There was this misconception that went around that anyone could walk on set and become an actor or actress," Finn began. "But nah, you had to be scouted and have some semblance of talent."

"Well that's good. I heard that rumor myself," Vanessa commented.

"Anyway, actors could either use Pokemon that were trained specifically for their roles, or they could bring their own teams to become stars," Finn continued. "I wasn't a big screen guy as you know. I worked on making sure things run smoothly. Lightning, equipment, props...I was pretty much called Mr. Fix-It around the studio."

"Well someone with your kind of ingenuity is welcome around here!" Vanessa smiled.

"Thank you," Finn smiled back. "I'm not one for small talk, though, so if I'm quiet or rough around the edges, that's why."

"Ah that's fine, my good chap," Isabella reassured him. "I think I have enough personality here. No offense."

"None taken." Finn stood up, rolling his shoulders.

"Oh yeah, you have a way of fighting, Finn?" Aubrey asked.

"As a matter of fact..." He would grab something off his belt, the other three seeing it extend into a bo staff with thin but well padded ends. "I do."

"Interesting...Non-lethal and gives you great reach," Vanessa noted.

"That's the idea," Finn responded, retracting his weapon back into its collapsible and easily carried form. "I trained in fighting like this with Brycen. I would be a scrapper, but I'd prefer to have something against enemies armed with more than just Pokemon."

"Good show, good show," Vanessa complimented.

"Impressive mate," Isabella seconded.

Aubrey gave a thumbs-up of approval. "Maybe once this jet lag stops hitting you Izzy, you can show me a bit of this Galar Karate. We do have a downstairs gym for stuff like that."

"Sure. I would like that." Isabella smiled at her.

"And you already know I would," Aubrey grinned, already looking eager at the thought of a great fight.

"...Oh joy, I'm going to have to get the infirmary ready already." Vanessa sported a deadpan look as the intercom was heard. They had a visitor.

Entering the facility was none other than Jake Hagguire. The stout young man looked chipper, wearing a tie-dye blue and white shirt with blue jeans, and Suicune print tennis-shoes. "Wowwww...you really decorated this place to the tens! It looks great! Long time no see, Van!" Jake grinned and patted her on the back.

"Jake!" Vanessa would give him a quick hug. "It's only been a few days but it feels like forever."

When Aubrey came out in the lobby, she was happy to see him again. "Eyyy, how ya been, man?" She greeted him with high energy.

"Fabulous darling! Andrei's in Alola now and we're having a stay-cay vacay! I'm just really hyped to see you though!" Jake glomped Aubrey excitedly after finishing his hug with Vanessa. "So this is the new age of Power Rangers. I'm so proud of you two."

Aubrey could only laugh, managing to stay steady on her feet. "Yeah, sure it is for Alola at least!" She responded. "First Champion of Alola is a weird title to hold...but I'll wear it all the same! Professor Hastings said it'd be one for the recruitment drive."

"Yes it is." Vanessa laughed. "Oh hey there wouldn't be a package outside at all would there?"

"Mmm a package? I think there was one but I didn't wanna open it haphazardly. And it's awesome you still get to be a Champion too." Jake beamed.

In would come Vatonage, holding said package in his mouth and setting it down in front of Vanessa.

"Umb! Umb!" He barked.

"Thanks, Vatonage!" Vanessa would open the package to see five other Poke Balls and a filled paper bag. "Oh yes it's here!"

"Ooh ordered some Pokemon off the dark web?" Jake teased with a wink.

"Oh no this is the rest of my team from Kanto!" As if on cue, one of the Poke Balls opened up on its own as she had a Pikachu sporting a vest matching hers sitting on her shoulder.

"Pika pika!" It cried.

"Hey, there's the Partner Pokemon I saw you with!" Aubrey exclaimed.

"Umbre?" Vatonage tilted his head. New friends? He did see new friends around the building where they called home, and looked excited to meet some more. "Umbre umbre!" Pikachu would jump down.

"Pika! Pikachu!" The Pikachu would move to take Vatonage's paw, which he graciously accepted.

"This here is Ranger Chu! He has some pretty odd Moves," Vanessa introduced.

"I didn't think of you as the predictable kind of Pokemon fan but hey, you did style him perfectly so I'll forgive the overdone. Hey Ranger Chu!" Jake gave a friendly wave.

"Pikachu!" Ranger Chu waved back to Jake before going to play with Vatonage.

"Okay, some of you can come on out, just be careful!" Vanessa sent out two more Pokemon, a Vileplume and a Clefable.

"Some?" Aubrey wondered. "Why, you got some big boys and girls on that team?"

"I would let the other two out but they are not the kind of Pokemon who would take well to being inside. But tell ya what, Brey. If you wanna see one of them, let's race." Vanessa answered.

"Race? Around Alola? Actually, come to think of it, what've you been up to so far?" Jake asked.

"Heh, you know I don't back down from a challenge," Aubrey responded. "As for what we've been up to...well..."

"Well other than waiting for this place. We actually went sightseeing, caught a few rays on the beach as well, Mantine Surfed," Vanessa informed.

"Turns out there's this big golf course at the resort," Aubrey added. "Though uh...I don't think it's for me..."

"Yeah, I think Kahili had this most disappointed look on her face after you got that Double Bogey," The Sinnoh native responded.

"You sure it wasn't me yelling at the ball to go in the hole?" The older area ranger responded.

"Maybe." Vanessa laughed and headed outside with Jake and Aubrey.

"Well Kahili did seem hard to impress...considering I barely heard from her. I'd never try golfing with her." Jake chuckled nervously.

"Okay, you can come on out!" The first one of Vanessa's team that preferred the outdoors would be...an Alolan Dugtrio.

"Oh hey, Hapu had one of those!" Aubrey noted about Vanessa's Ground-type choice.

"Groovy Pokemon!" Jake complimented.

"And finally." Vanessa tossed up the last Poke Ball to reveal a Rapidash as she hopped on.

"...Doesn't that like, hurt?" Aubrey wondered at Rapidash's flaming mane.

"Not at all actually. If a Rapidash trusts you, it's flame does not hurt," Vanessa replied.

"Yep! It's certified safe!" Jake nodded.

"Never really knew that...though Fire-types were never my thing." Aubrey sheepishly chuckled. "Okay, so you want a race, right?" She fished through her belongings and got her Ride Pager. "Well, you've got one." Cue Aubrey summoning Tauros to ride on.

"Oooh yeah. Come on Rapidash! Let's shake the Rust off!" Vanessa exclaimed.

"I guess I'll be a referee then." Jake muttered before summoning Byron and getting on board the now fully confident if still soft-spoken Bastiodon.

"We might as well get this sorted with the locals here first...first one to reach the marina wins." Aubrey was saying this mainly because she didn't want to bowl anyone over on the road.

"Deal!" Vanessa agreed. Once they had gotten permission from the locals in Heahea to do this, they got to their starting line, the bridge leading to the Hano Grand Resort. Jake poised himself behind them as he was intent on following them to make sure they were following the proper course.

"Count us down, man!" Aubrey called.

"Ok damsels ready to destress...! On your marks... get set... give your Pokemon a pep talk..." Jake chuckled and teased, though he seemed to also be giving them advice, before he said 'go'.

"We got this, Tauros..." Aubrey whispered.

"Okay Rapidash, let's show these two what you're made of!" Vanessa was more audible with her encouragement.

"... GOOOOOOOOOOO JOHTOOOOOOOOO!" Jake swung his arm down and the race was now officially underway!

The two of them took off like speeding bullets down the street facing the sea, Aubrey leaning forward on Tauros as it charged on ahead. Rapidash is keeping pace with the Tauros edging it out a bit as well! With the wind whipping through their hair, both Aubrey and Vanessa were practically neck and neck with each other as Jake could see, the two of them just now passing the boutique, close to the finish. They would soon get to the Marina and stop before hitting the dock.

"I see that the winner is...Vanessa! Super close call though as it was but half a second difference! Great effort from both of you!" Jake applauded while Byron chimed in with a congratulatory "Bastiodon!"

"Man...it was close though!" Aubrey complimented.

Vanessa laughed. "Good race Brey!" She'd hop off Rapidash and feed him a Sitrus Berry. "Wanna hop on?"

"I'd prefer not to have to get skin grafts, thank you," Aubrey declined. "And besides, don't you wanna see what kind of wardrobe upgrade the Union gave you?"

"Very true!" Vanessa agreed.

"Then let's ride on back and take a look-see what you got!" Aubrey was already riding back to HQ on Tauros, eager to see what new look her partner would be rocking.

"Hoh... so you got new gear, I take it? That's awesome! I look forward to seeing it myself!" Jake nodded in hype as he followed them inside.

Once inside, Vanessa would head to her room past the group of playing Pokemon to get changed.

Vanessa came out wearing a customized ranger uniform befitting her Water-type specialist nature. The base of the outfit would be a light blue one-piece swimsuit with yellow lines running up with sides. She also has a short green vest with Yellow trim and a blue medical cross on her back. She also has her medical belt with the blue cross symbol on it. She still has her watch Styler with the Mega Stone inserted into it. On her feet are a pair of green and yellow water shoes and a pair of blue lensed goggles worn in her hair.

"Look at you, Naiad of Alola. Looking beautiful!" Jake gave a big thumbs up.

"Aww, thanks," Vanessa responded with a smile.

He wouldn't be the only one who complimented Vanessa's new getup.

"Oooh, she looks so cool!" A familiar female voice exclaimed. Aubrey and Jake knew exactly who that voice belonged to.

"Zossie?" Aubrey wondered. She hadn't heard from her or Dulse in a while, wondering what they wanted.

"Huh...that is what they look like…" Vanessa noted to herself.

"Ehh...? Zossie, where have you been and what brings you to this humble non-Aether adobe?" Jake asked, raising an eyebrow. Even after all this time he was still uncertain about her and her otherworldly partner.

"There's another ranger...interesting." Dulse did his wave to the group, Aubrey rubbing the back of her head. "Long time no see, Aubrey and Jake."

"What do you guys want?" Aubrey wondered. "It's been...a while since we last saw you."

"A little...um, what was the saying? A little Pikipek told me?" Zossie put a finger to her chin before nodding to herself. "Yes. A little Pikipek told us that you were able to tame the Ultra Beast Nihilego not once, but twice! Is that true?"

"Tame is a strong word. We punished it, kicked its sorry butt, and made it release Lusamine, more accurately." Jake grinned and did a 'We Can Do It' pose.

"Yeah, they totally got this, Dulse!" Zossie giggled.

"Right. It's come to our attention that some of the Ultra Beasts have found their way here to Alola..." Dulse began. "And we think it is important that we capture them, and send them back to their homes quickly before they do untold damage to the Alola region."

"...Wait...what?" Aubrey blinked.

"...Uhh I think Hapu mentioned one of them…" Vanessa mentioned. "You know, thinking about it we probably should have asked the other Kahunas what they ran into while that was happening." She sweatdropped.

"Are you serious...?" Jake looked very pale all of a sudden once it occurred to him what they were implying. "They are all on the loose now?"

"Not all of them, just some," Zossie tried to make Jake feel better with that tidbit.

"Still, we gotta round them up..." Aubrey responded. "Hey Van, didn't you mention that the International Police were looking into Ultra Beasts?"

"Yeah..the reports I read mentioned Looker, and...Nanu," Vanessa answered.

"When did you notice the Ultra Beasts got out?" Aubrey asked.

"Not that long ago today," Dulse answered. "We came looking for you as soon as we found out."

"Well...it'd probably be better if we got these guys rounded up before I.P. gets heavily involved," The Summerland native mentioned. "Especially since I have no idea what they're gonna do to them."

"Running is the right call usually..." Jake frowned and bit his finger.

"Yeah...Nanu has likely called his old friends about recent happenings so I think we might be on borrowed time here…" Vanessa added, thinking for a moment. "How are they spread out?"

"We'll tell you inside if you're willing to hear us out," Zossie answered.

"Well, Brey?" Vanessa looked to her partner.

"Yeah. We'll help," Aubrey answered.

Jake looked at his fellow Rangers in shock and panic. "Hold up you two. Before you get too excited...I don't think this is a good idea." He frowned.

"Huh? Whatcha mean?" Aubrey looked at Jake now, wondering what his reservations on this were.

"Lusamine got mind screwed by Nihilego, remember? Helped nearly ruin the region? Guzma telling us that he also got nearly possessed by demon jelly? That's TERRIFYING. These other Ultra Beasts are also deadly and have very strange powers by association. Engaging with them could risk something insane happening to one of us!" Jake exclaimed with genuine worry. He knew these rangers worked so hard to get to this point in Alola and were in the prime of happiness and success. All it could take was one bad run-in with the Ultra Beasts for a tragedy to occur. Jake absolutely did not want that.

Aubrey paused for a moment, motioning for everyone to follow her inside. Once they did, she said her peace. "Look, Jake...I know you're scared, I get that. But what're we supposed to do? Let the Ultra Beasts run around doing Arceus knows what when we can help before they do any serious damage?" Aubrey leaned against the wall. "The main thing is that as rangers, we gotta step in when stuff like this happens, ya know? It's all a part of the job. Things might look scary, and yeah, there's a fear of the unknown. But true bravery is being scared and still going through with it."

"That's true that someone has to take care of them but surely the Tapus... or something else can intervene. Risking our lives against the likes of an Ultra Beast that ate an entire village... are we really able to do it without any complications?" Jake folded his arms and sighed.

"Well...if we were able to Capture Styler the Nihilego...that's what they were called, right?" Aubrey looked to Zossie for an answer, who eagerly nodded her head yes. "Yeah, if we can do that, then surely the other Ultra Beasts can be captured in the same way. But...if things get rough, I'll try not to be a headstrong fool for you, okay?"

"Yeah, besides we know that these fine folk are helping us. And with them, we now have information we did not have before," Vanessa pointed out.

"...Ok Aubrey. Van. Although I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm going to come with you. See this through together. Might as well make this region safer for me and my man after all as well as everyone I've grown to love here." Jake winked as he felt his confidence was renewed.

Vanessa smiled. "And that is what I was waiting to hear."

"So, you will accept our 'mission' as you call it?" Dulse asked.

"You know it!" Aubrey was quick to do her Ranger pose, looking ready to go. She whistled for Vatonage to come out to the lobby, which he did rather eagerly. Vanessa followed with Gastrodon.

"Though I swear to Arceus this is going to shave off a few years of my lifespan either way." Jake groaned. He was not looking forward to the freak show he was about to engage in.

Once they were gathered in the mission control room, Dulse and Zossie would begin, feeling in their element.

"We'll point out where we have sighted the Ultra Beasts on this map here," Zossie began. "We each have a code name for the UBs - Nihilego as you know, has the code name UB-01, Symbiont. We have spotted it...here." She pointed to a spot on Akala Island - Wela Volcano Park.

"The rest...we'll have to show you." Dulse continued. "UB-02 Absorption and UB-02 Beauty have been spotted around here." He pointed out a spot on Melemele Island - the meadow on Route 3. "Absorption is known as Buzzwole, whereas Beauty is known as Pheromosa. Both of them are what you know as Bug/Fighting type Pokemon." He would show off the images of the two UBs to the group.

"...Is that a giant buff mosquito?" Vanessa was taken aback by Buzzwole's appearance.

"Yeah, you're seeing that right, Van," Aubrey responded. "...Erwing's gonna stomp on it so hard it's not even funny."

"The other one looks speedy...and rather frail," Vanessa added.

"Beauty...that must be the one I photographed previously," Jake said. "It'd certainly fit the category." Jake showed them the picture again.

"Well, Gastrodon is going to have a field day," The Sinnoh ranger mused.

"Heh...I got the pun there," Aubrey mused.

"Pun? What pun?" Zossie blinked in confusion.

"Circuitry. And it looks like a bunch of wires," The older ranger pointed out.

"Ahhh...okay!" Zossie smiled.

Jake looked creeped out by the Lightning Ultra Beast. "Something about not having a discernible expression is seriously unnerving...and it probably walks creepily too. Ugh..."

"Next we have UB-04 Blade, and UB-04 Blaster. They are known as Kartana and Celesteela respectively," Dulse continued. "We have found Blade to be at this location..." He pointed to the Maile Garden. "And Blaster is here." He pointed out the Haina Desert as Zossie showed off their appearances.

"What types are those?" Aubrey asked.

"Kartana is a Grass/Steel type, and Celesteela is a Steel/Flying type," Zossie answered.

"Eyyyy, Steel-types. Love it," The Steel-type fan mused.

"Also looks like Kartana is an easy mark for Fire-types," Vanessa noted. They would also take note of the size differences between Kartana and Celesteela. They were very noticeable. "...Wait a second..aww look how tiny it is..." Vanessa started to fawn over how small and adorable Kartana was.

"Celesteela actually looks quite stunning but good lord it's HUGE! It could crush us flat." Jake whimpered.

"There's a few more...but two of which we'll take care of on our own," Dulse continued, pointing to a spot on Poni Island. "UB-05 Gluttony is hiding out here. We know it as Guzzlord, a Dark/Dragon type as you know it."

When Zossie showed the picture they had on file, she was not prepared for the reactions that it got.

"...Is that...what...what in the world...?" Aubrey was at a loss for words.

".. What in the Distortion World is that abomination…" Horrified was one way to put it for Vanessa until she realized something. "Wait, that fits what Hapu told us she fought…"

"Nooooooooooooooooo..." Jake crouched on the ground and looked like he was going to cry.

Aubrey immediately knelt down to Jake for support. "H-Hey man...don't go losing it on me..."

"Umbre umbre..." Vatonage nuzzled against Jake out of concern too.

"T-that's the one...t-t-that...mmmmmnnnn...ate the town...I-it's way too dangerous to approach...unless we get lucky with a Fairy-Type..." Jake felt extremely touched by Vatonage's nuzzling and hugged the Umbreon softly as a tear fell. He was really just that terrified of the idea of such a dangerous encounter.

"Well hey, we've got Morality and Tenor, don't we?" Aubrey mentioned, trying to lift his spirits. "We're prepared for that thing, I just know it."

"I-I sure hope so...though actually I have Hazel back in my party now since I've been training her back to be in tip-top shape after the journey ended." Jake chuckled slightly at being reminded of the switch to his team he made and showed Hazel's Heal Ball to demonstrate.

Vatonage smiled, wagging his tail eagerly. Dulse would hand over a box of specially designed Poke Balls - blue and yellow in color with an Ultra Wormhole design pattern.

"Here. Use these to store the Ultra Beasts until we can return them to their homes," He instructed. "These are Beast Balls, and are very effective at catching the UBs." Jake parted from Vatonage's hug, petting the Umbreon on the head gently, and stood up.

"How did you figure out how to make these? It's different from the Safari Balls right?" Jake asked.

"I'm gonna go with 'We have technology' and not question it any further," Aubrey answered, taking the Beast Balls. "We better get started...I say we get the two here on Akala first, then Melemele, Ula Ula, and finish it off with Poni. Sounds like a plan, everyone?"

"Yeah, sounds good to me," Vanessa responded. "Let me go and get my team and I'll be right out."

"I was going to say Kurt magic, but ok." Jake stuck his tongue out at Aubrey for not being interested in the trivia. "And yeah, my team is always on hand these days so let's end the Ultra invasion once and for all." Jake said, reaffirming his determination with a power pose.

"We'll be waiting at the Altar of the Sunne once we do our part," Zossie added. "Once you've rounded up the UBs, meet us there and we'll help bring 'em back to their homes."

"Alright. Thanks Zossie!" Aubrey smiled. "I'll go grab my team too and be right back, Jake. Wait for us in the lobby." She'd go with Vatonage to get her team in order for this mission. Jake indeed waited in the lobby, humming the Pokemon Center theme.

Vanessa would have her full team with her, with Ranger Chu electing to ride on her shoulders. Sure, she technically has seven Pokemon on her, but Rangers tend to get around that little rule when they gather help from local wild Pokemon. Aubrey knew about that rule too, but she didn't care much for it. Vatonage opted to walk by her side, him and his partner joining up with the other two in the lobby.

"We got this don't we, Ranger Chu?" Jake saluted the Pikachu happily.

"Pikachu!" Ranger Chu responded eagerly.

"Okay, first up...Wela Volcano Park. I just told our two rookies where we were if anyone came asking," Aubrey told Vanessa.

"Ah, gotcha," Vanessa acknowledged Aubrey's action.

"Two rookies? Oh you've got to introduce me to them after this." Jake beamed. "Now you are officially masters!"

Vanessa chuckled at this. "Yeah one of them was a bit jetlagged after flying over here from Galar."

"Alright, Mission...Start!" Aubrey would make it truly official as they headed out to their first stop on the 'tour', Wela Volcano Park.

It wouldn't take long to spot the Nihilego, since it stuck out like a sore thumb among the wild Pokemon in the area.

"Ah hello there, Creepy," Vanessa spoke to get its attention. "Did not miss you a bit."

"Long time no see. Don't worry, Nihilego. This is your last moment as a free Pokemon." Jake had nothing nice to say towards this menace.

"And since we know you're a Rock/Poison type…" Vanessa wasted no time sending out Gastrodon.

Interestingly enough, Nihilego's body language suggested it was downright terrified of the trio - something Aubrey picked up on as she reached for Don's Poke Ball.

"Hey, you guys think this is one of the Nihilego we fought back against Lusamine?" She guessed, deciding to let Gastrodon handle this.

"Really? Huh...in that case." Vanessa looked to Ranger Chu. "Hey Pikachu, wanna take care of this one?"

"Pikachu!" Ranger Chu would jump off Vanessa's Shoulders and land in front of the Nihilego.

"Leave the jellyfish washed up, Ranger Chu!" Jake encouraged the Pokemon.

"You heard the man! Splishy Splash!" Vanessa's command would cause Aubrey to pause.

"...Where'd you get that move's name from? A toddler?" She asked, somewhat concerned.

"Must be a Sentai thing." Jake shrugged.

"Some circus training guy in a Pokemon Center. Said that is what the attack is called." As she is saying this, Ranger Chu is using an electrified Surf and is even surfing on a surfboard as the wave swallows up the Nihilego and leaves it paralyzed.

"Huh...well I guess it makes this next part easy!" Aubrey wasn't complaining now as she threw a Beast Ball at Nihilego.

The older ranger smiled. "One down."

"This was for Lusamine, Guzma and Lillie." Jake smiled to himself in a self-satisfied manner.

"And before you ask, two of the other moves it has are called Zippy Zap and Floaty Fall. The first one is a guaranteed critical hit Electric Quick Attack, and the second is a one turn physical Flying move that can cause flinching," Vanessa quickly explained.

"I'm gonna go with that guy, let his kids name those moves," Aubrey deadpanned. "But hey, whatever works."

"...Since when could you invent new Pokemon moves with actual distinct effects?" Jake's eyes widened.

"I have no idea, but this is nothing on what Trace has on his Eevee. That little guy was crazy," The younger ranger answered.

"You can tell us about it when we're done here, Van," Aubrey responded, Vatonage already looking eager to go after the next UB.

"Yeah! So the next stop is Melemele Meadow, yes?" Vanessa asked.

"Lush Jungle," Aubrey corrected.

"Oh my bad," Aubrey's partner apologized. "Thinking ahead again, it seems."

The group would head on to Lush Jungle, where they would not have much trouble finding it. Xurkitree was merely planted in the ground, trying to pass off as a tree.

"Hmm...one of these things is not like the other," Aubrey mused.

"...Oh, it's a Sudowoodo!" Vanessa sarcastically responded.

Jake hid behind Aubrey looking worriedly over her shoulder. "I'm afraid it's going to pounce on us when we call it out and zap us to death..."

"Not gonna happen." Aubrey would call out Don as Xurkitree became aware they were onto it. Unrooting itself from the ground, it charged itself up ready for a fight. Don simply let out a huff, as if to say 'Bring it on.'

One thing they would note is that the Xurketree did a brief Glowing effect on its head. Followed by the usual stat raise effect.

"...Was that Tail Glow?" Vanessa guessed.

"Must've been...wait does that make its butt its head...? GAHHHHH... now it's more weird than creepy." Jake shook his head furiously.

"Huh...careful. Tail Glow is the rare case of a three stage stat boost. In this case Special Attack," Vanessa warned, sending out Gastrodon.

"Can't do much with it when it's taking super effective STAB damage, Van - Don, Earthquake!" Aubrey called, doing a considerable amount of damage, responding with a Signal Beam.

"Okay, let's send off an Earth Power, Gastrodon!" Vanessa ordered, an Earth Power hit coming through. The Earth Power hit connected, and with one last Rock Tomb from Don for good measure against Xurkitree, Aubrey would throw a Beast Ball.

One...two...three...

"Alright! Two down!" Aubrey cheered. "Don, you good?" Don simply shook himself off, despite having taken quite the hit for Gastrodon.

"Whew...that's resolved. I better step it up though. I'll take on Beauty for sure!" Jake tried to psych himself up knowing he had been very cowardly.

"So which one of us is taking on Absorption?" Aubrey asked.

"Hmm...well I think you would be better suited for that," Vanessa replied. "Between Skarmory and Erwing, it should be no problem."

"Yeah. We got this, Jake!" Aubrey beamed.

"Umbre!" Vatonage did look eager for his turn to fight the UBs, but was more happy for their success so far as they headed out to Melemele courtesy of the Ride Pager Charizards and Skarmory.

By the time they had arrived on Melemele Island, they would see Hala outside the meadow entrance, looking mighty concerned.

"Hala? Hala, what's wrong?" Jake asked in concern.

"Either I'm old and seeing things, or the big creature that I fought back when the sky got all dark and dreary returned," Hala explained, referring to when Lusamine opened up all those Ultra Wormholes.

"We're here to deal with it. Is the meadow clear of any civilians?" Aubrey asked.

"Why yes, but that's not the only thing perplexing about this," Hala added, causing them to wonder what he meant. "Heh...see for yourself, since it's kind of amusing."

"Amusing?" When Vanessa looked into the meadow with Aubrey and Jake, she would see what Hala meant.

The Pheromosa was sitting on a rock, minding its own business and dealing with the Buzzwole trying to flex and show off to it. Pheromosa was less than amused by these antics.

"...Well this is hilarious…" Vanessa started laughing at this.

Jake looked just as gobsmacked. "Two for the price of one or a lover's quarrel needing counseling? Either way. This one's mine!" Jake grinned as he called forth Belle to the scene.

"Oi, don't leave me out of the fun!" Aubrey exclaimed, rushing forward and calling forth Skarmory, who looked eager to do battle. Both UBs would then take notice of what was going on, setting aside their differences as they too got ready to fight.

"Inferno!" Belle charged forth a mighty fireball above her ghostly form and then sent forth a wave of fire from it flying at the two buggy Ultra Beasts. Jake knew that Beauty might be able to dodge it with their renowned speed but he was testing the waters.

Pheromosa was able to get out of the way easily as Buzzwole tussled with Skarmory. Pheromosa would send a Bug Buzz to attack Belle. Pheromosa's blinding speed would prove to be a challenge for Belle, bouncing up in the air to avoid it. Looked like Bounce from what Jake could see.

Buzzwole meanwhile had its fist clash with a Fly attack from Skarmory, barely able to force back the Armor Bird Pokemon who followed it up with a Steel Wing.

"Ok then... wait for the moment to strike and retaliate!" Jake declared with zeal. Belle let the Pheromosa fly forward towards her but just as Pheromosa landed a flying-kick style blow on the Luring Pokemon, Belle responded with a fearsome Flamethrower that blasted the Ultra Beast. Meeting blow for blow, Belle ended up getting the edge.

That would be all Belle needed to weaken the UB, Aubrey tossing a Beast Ball towards Jake. "Use this and catch it! I'll keep Beefcake over here from stopping you!" She called, her Skarmory doing what it could to stop the interference.

"Thanks Aubs! Batterrrrrrrr up!" Jake winded up for the pitch and hurled the Beast Ball at the kneeled and singed Pheromosa, the Pokemon sucked up by the Beast Ball once it made contact.

"UHNHH! ON IT!" Jake shrieked with chipper hype. "Beast beats beauty! Now help out Skarmory, Belle!" He moved onto the next phase. Belle came to Skarmory's aid and sent an Inferno flying at Buzzwole.

Buzzwole was nearly able to avoid the attack, and Skarmory having to take evasive maneuvers to avoid getting caught in the Inferno, smacking the UB with another Steel Wing.

"Careful!" Aubrey called. Belle followed up the offensive approach with a Shadow Ball at Buzzwole. Skarmory would take advantage of this, striking with Steel Wing assaults until it was ripe for capture. Aubrey flicked out a Beast Ball, snagging the Buzzwole!

"Yeah!" Aubrey went over to give her Skarmory a big ol' hug. "Still got it, man!"

"Skarrrr!" Skarmory cried in victory.

Hala simply applauded the two, having watched the whole battle. "Bravo! It's incredible to see how far you've come since undertaking the island trials together," He complimented.

"Aww, it was nothing," Aubrey smiled, trying to downplay what just went down.

"Ehehehehe...just me facing my fears that's all." Jake mimicked Aubrey's response with a shy head scratch.

"Chandelureeeee!" 'That was so much funnnnnn!' Belle seemed very proud of their efforts.

"Well, we'd love to stay and chat with ya Hala, but we gotta get to Ula Ula. There's more of those creatures there, and one on Poni," Aubrey explained. "We're trying to round them up before they do any serious damage."

"I see. Very well, I'll leave you to it. Heh, maybe our island's guardian would love to do battle with you someday," Hala mused. "Another time, I suppose."

"Yeah, you tell Tapu Koko I'd have to make a rain check on that battle," The older ranger responded, agreeing with 'another time' for when that showdown should happen.

"Van, coordinates please, on our next destination!" Jake asked as they prepared for the next mission.

"I believe it is the large garden in Malie City," Vanessa responded.

"Ok. Not surprised these monsters are attracted to nature." Jake commented.

With a wave goodbye from Hala, they would make their way over to Ula Ula. Before they could enter Malie Garden, they would see two individuals heading that way as well - one was a black haired man in a detective's trench coat, and the other was a purple haired woman in formal dress with black gloves.

"Heads up. We got International Police," Vanessa warned her companions.

"Ooooooh wow! She looks super classy!" Jake smiled at seeing the woman. "What's her name?"

"Ah jeez..." Aubrey winced. "Well they were bound to get here eventually."

"Yeah. Well we are here doing our jobs and protecting the public," Vanessa reminded. "So let's just work with them."

"Wait you two have issues with them?" Jake suddenly noticed that his Ranger gal pals didn't seem fond of them.

"I'm more worried about what they're gonna do with them," The older ranger confided.

"Yeah, though the guy in the trenchcoat there? That is Looker. Guy is a legend among the International Police," Vanessa pointed out.

"Oh yeah I've heard of Looker. He's trusted though, eh? I'm sure that they'll let us handle the Ultra Beasts when we've revealed who sanctioned this mission for us." Jake tried to reassure them.

"Only one way to find out." Aubrey would lead the way to approach the police duo.

"Well Boss, looks like we found the Union's Representatives around here," Looker noted upon seeing them approach.

"Mr. Looker, we should regard them carefully." The woman seemed cautious...or maybe nervous of meeting them.

"It will be fine, Chief. The Ranger Union always produces promising young men and women. You can tell by looking at them." Looker stepped in front of the trio. "Looker, International Police. I see you're here because of the Ultra Beasts, am I right?"

"Yes sir," Aubrey responded, giving him a formal salute. "Ranger Aubrey Bradford, Area Ranger of Alola with my partner Vanessa Parker." Vatonage tilted his head, walking over to Looker and sniffing him.

"And I'm Jake Hagguire, innocent and insecure." Jake chuckled.

Looker would reach down and pet the Umbreon briefly. "Well, the Chief and I were eating some good food in that restaurant when we saw you three approaching. We have been investigating the UBs ourselves after the Ultra Wormholes and noted that you were likely here doing the same."

"That's what the Ultra Recon Squad has requested of us, yeah," Aubrey answered. "We're trying to round them up and send them back to their homes."

"Yes, the Ultra Beasts have emerged as an after effect of the machinations of Lusamine who we understood is recovering from her ordeal. While I do consent to your actions at the moment, we've been instructed to follow three specific practices in regards to these Ultra Beasts. Monitoring their movements, protect the populace from them, and protect the Ultra Beasts... or destroy them if they are too far gone," Anabel responded.

"Chief!" Looker exclaimed.

"Trust me, it isn't the option I or you prefer Mr. Looker. Just stating protocol. So in that sense, if you two Rangers and your companion have the willpower and ability to get through to these Ultra Beasts in the nick of time, we can safeguard these precious creatures and bring them home. I, Anabel, implore you to join our ranks."

Jake gave a surprised glance. He recognized that name but...he was fairly certain that the place he heard that name at was still active. Furthermore, as much as he loathed and thought the Ultra Beasts were evil behemoths, Anabel's reasoning made sense to him.

"Ma'am, our intelligence tells us that Kartana is in the Malie Garden right now," Aubrey was quick to respond. "So it would be nice if we could get a move on with that..."

"Well I'm all for conservation yeah, so we need to say yes and get on with it." Jake hastily responded to match Aubrey's urgency.

"Thank you. Me and Mr. Looker will not let you down. Perhaps you can tell us your methods that have succeeded thus far for future use." Anabel bowed politely out of sincere gratitude.

"...Well the Ultra recon Squad told us the types of all the Ultra Beasts," Vanessa pointed out. Thankfully this next one has a severe allergy to Fire."

"Entei should do the trick then! He's been one of my longest partners!" Anabel looked a bit more enthused as they made their move on.

"An Entei... Anabel... purple hair..." Jake seemed to be thinking aloud to himself as he began to realize something unusual about this person's identity.

"Yeah...she has a legendary…" Vanessa breathed.

"...Where the heck did she get an Entei from?" Aubrey whispered to her two companions as the group entered the Malie Garden, an unusual sight before them.

They would see Kartana, but instead of terrified civilians, there'd be a group of children tossing things at the UB, who was eagerly cutting them down, much to their amusement.

"Oh geez...this looks like something out of a probability-based horror film. Kids you might want to stay away from that thing!" Jake warned them from afar.

"Games playing just we're."

"...? Who said that?" Aubrey wondered.

"Did it just talk?" Vanessa asked in a deadpan voice tone, a lot more accepting of the random nonsense they've been dealing with today, but still very weirded out.

"A speaking Ultra Beast? That's certainly a distinct ability...so it's extremely sharp and capable of talking human speech." Anabel looked floored.

The voice was surprisingly high-pitched and the kids looked delighted, clapping happily at this discovery.

"Uuuuh...hi?" The younger ranger tried to greet the Kartana.

"Hello!" Kartana waved hello to them cheerfully. "Here you brings what?"

"You're Kartana, right?" Aubrey would be the one to ask an obvious question. "Um, the Ultra Recon Squad heard you got lost from your home and wound up here. We're here to bring you back home if that's cool with you."

"Here staying prefer would I. Love and joy me given children these." Kartana seemed reticent.

"Yeah but if the authorities get a hold of you and take you in, you could become a source of research and we can't guarantee you'll have this level of freedom. If you have a real home, you ought to return to it." Anabel tried to reason with it.

"And if these two think you're two 'far gone'," Aubrey added, jerking a thumb towards Looker and Anabel. "It's not gonna end well for you."

"Though you do seem nice enough," Vanessa observed.

The children frowned though, as they didn't want Kartana to leave either.

"Huh...I wonder if we can find a compromise here." Jake suggested as he sensed the foreboding threat of battle coming on.

"Uh..;maybe we use the Beast Ball, but give Kartana to the Children if they would agree to that?" Vanessa suggested.

"That's a possibility but the fact it can slice through anything, including organic beings scares me to be in the hands of someone so young..." Anabel frowned.

"Myself back hold can I." Kartana offered gently.

"Really...?" Jake looked genuinely surprised at the amount of depth and consideration this Ultra Beast was demonstrating.

"Alright...but if I hear any reports of you cutting anyone up, I'm coming back here, got it?" Aubrey held an empty Beast Ball, making her terms of this deal very clear. "Hey kids, which one of you wants to have this little guy living with you?"

All of them raised their hands, but one familiar face came forward. It was one of the kids at the school protected by the spirit of the girl Jake and Aubrey had helped.

"Ah...I think they are stepping forward." Jake said.

"Negotiations these accept I. More humanity trust to learned me helped lot you." Kartana looked pleased and was ready to be captured. The other children nodded in agreement with this, and congratulated Kartana for finding a home. Aubrey caught the Kartana easily enough afterward.

"Aww. How sweet," Vanessa mused.

"Yes it is." Looker smiled "Right Chief?"

"Yeah, thank you so much for handling it peacefully, Rangers... Jake. Though the toughest ones we've heard about lie ahead I imagine." Anabel said seriously.

With a warm smile, Aubrey handed the ball over to the little girl, leaving Kartana in their care. She'd stand up and face the others. "Yeah, Celesteela is in Haina Desert. We better move it." She could only wonder what Dulse and Zossie would have to say on this subversion of their mission.

"So what's our tactic for dealing with titans?" Jake asked.

"Honestly Mr. Looker and I were hoping to try to pacify it and then use a Status Ailment-move on it to cripple it before it could do anything too extreme," Anabel explained.

"What the chief said," Looker confirmed.

"Hmm...Well thanks to Dulse and Zossie...we know that this next one is a Steel/Flying type like Skarmory," Vanessa informed. Jake then brought in Aubrey and Vanessa close and whispered to them as Anabel and Looker walked ahead.

"I think I figured out her identity. She's the Battle Salon Maiden of the Battle Frontier. Anabel. While it's more of a cult favorite thing to do in Hoenn, in its hay day she was one of the strongest Trainers known in Hoenn. Though I have to admit she looks a LOT different from how she did back then...and I don't recall her stepping down from it either," Jake described what he recalled about her.

"Then...what the heck is she doing here as a copper?" Aubrey whispered back.

"...Wait…" The younger ranger suddenly remembered something. "That report...this was redacted but I was able to get this uncovered...someone came out of one of the Wormholes in Alola all that time ago..."

"My only guess is that she had a sudden change in career and got into a high position in the International Police because of her sheer battling strength." Jake rationalized. Both Aubrey and Jake turned to Vanessa in surprise once they registered what she said. "Wait, what?"

"I could not get much else from it…" Vanessa continued. "But I know who the officers were in that case. Looker...and Nanu."

"So...Looker would know, right?" Aubrey guessed.

"Yeah. As would Nanu," The younger ranger answered. "I think if we can, we should spare a moment to talk to Nanu and Looker."

"Ultra Wormholes in Hoenn...well that just makes me more determined to keep these Ultra Beasts from getting too far out in the world and return them home." Jake gave a firm expression.

Up ahead, Anabel yawned as they neared the Desert. It had been a long walk and as far as they could see there was something lying ahead in the Haina Desert. Or more appropriately...was floating ominously with its head towering in the clouds. Celesteela.

"Okay, I've got an idea, who wants to hear it?" Aubrey asked, holding Skarmory's Poke Ball.

"Shoot." Vanesa wanted to hear it. Anabel looked strained as she eyed the Blaster Pokemon and the Blaster Pokemon appeared to be slowly turning around to face them. Jake, trembling very nervously, nodded in anxious hope as to what Aubrey's plan was.

"If that thing takes to the skies..." The older ranger called out Skarmory and Nom. "We chase after it."

"Got it." Vanessa sent out Rapidash. "Rapidash here is my best option for this."

"I guess I'll leave this to you because none of my Pokemon can get sky high..." Jake muttered, fear evident in his voice.

A rumbling was heard as it looked like Celesteela was getting ready to take off. Celesteela had finally stopped and eyed the Trainers and International Policeman ominously. Looking down with an eerie serenity. Then it seemed to let out a loud cry that echoed in a dissonance across the desert before it suddenly charged up energy from it's disembodied arms

Anabel summoned Salamance and took flight on the majestic dragon, ready to charge into the fray. "It won't escape but be careful! We can't let it escape Alola!"

"That's our cue!" Aubrey exclaimed, getting a running start and jumping up to land on Skarmory's back in style.

"Vika vika, VIKAVOLT!" Nom shouted, as if it was calling Celesteela a coward and flew after them.

Vanessa sweatdropped. "Uuuh...okay, I guess we are following them then?"

Celesteela soon launched up into the horizon taking flight in majesty and grace and surged across the Alola skyline while firing Flash Cannons at those trying to chase it down.

"I...don't think we're going to get that luxury Van...!" Jake winced as a pulsating attack flew overhead like something out of a mecha film.

With incredible mobility, Skarmory would be evading the Flash Cannon attacks alongside Nom, Aubrey not getting shaken from the chase. Even from the skies, her grin was quite visible.

"Nom, it's weak to your Thunderbolt!" Aubrey called. "Let's close the gap a bit and let 'em have it!"

"Vika!" Nom responded affirmatively.

Anabel similarly showed expert evasion with Salamance before summoning another Pokemon to aid with teh fight. Her Latios. "Latios, get ready to follow Nom's lead. We'll need the thunder to strike them down!"

Latios looked dutiful and ready as Celesteela continued to surge over many of Alola's locations. Those below were startled, stunned, amazed, confused, and shocked at the large entity flying over the region at high speeds and velocity and a few could use their eagle eyes to make out the Trainers after it. As they were soon hovering over the ocean, the Trainers and their Pokemon started to close the distance despite Celesteela's best efforts to escape and it even considered taking for space now. Aubrey of course, wasn't willing to let that happen, since they were close enough.

"Nom, NOW! THUNDERBOLT!" Aubrey shouted.

"Vika...VOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLT!" Nom loosed a powerful Thunderbolt at Celesteela!

"NOW!" Anabel followed Aubrey's lead at precise timing. Latios took advantage of Nom's Thunderbolt from below in order to conjure a Thunderbolt from above Celesteela.

Just as the Ultra Beast began to ascend, it suddenly found itself contacting with a thundercloud that soon zapped the Ultra Beast viciously down and stun them just as Nom's Thunderbolt landed its mark right after. It shrieked powerfully and began to descend from the heavens as both powerful blasts combined were enough to knock it out. It began to fall down towards the ocean below.

"Vika! Vol vol volt!" Nom called out to Aubrey.

"Oh, right!" Aubrey would soar down with Skarmory to throw a Beast Ball at Celesteela, watching it go in and the ball falling into the water. A thunderous crash and a pillar of water rose in perfect unison. An artificial rain fell upon all those around the are as for a moment it seemed questionable if the Beast Ball had even hit the Celesteela in the first place.

"C'mon..." Anabel looked worriedly for any sign of the Ball. Thankfully once the rain descended and the sight of no floating Ultra Beast made clear, a single Beast Ball floated on the surface of the ocean water.

It was also noted that Aubrey wasn't on Skarmory's back, as her arm shot out of the water, holding the Beast Ball now containing Celesteela.

"WHOO!" Aubrey cheered, laughing over that thrill ride. "That was awesome!"

Anabel sighed, mostly from exhaustion but also from relief. "Certainly more fun than a roller coaster that's for certain. I'm glad you are ok, Aubrey." Both her Salamance and Latios cheered excitedly. Skarmory would swoop down to pluck his partner out of the water, Aubrey hopping on his back as the two returned to the rest of the group.

"You guys see that? That was sooooo cool!" Aubrey chuckled, the adrenaline surge still lingering.

"Well now that you are sopping wet, I can clearly see that it went well. It flew away so fast we didn't really see the takedown." Jake admitted.

Anabel seemed a bit weary once they landed and was leaning on Mr. Looker for support. "Huh... I think these Ultra Beasts are affecting me..."

"We can take it from here, ma'am," Aubrey offered to Anabel. "We've only got one more Ultra Beast to catch on Poni Island."

"N-no...I can handle this...I know they seem to get really aggressive when they spot me but I have a personal stake in this mission..." Anabel insisted. Aubrey looked to Vanessa to check up on Anabel, a bit concerned for her well-being. Vanessa nodded, looking Anabel over.

"Anything hurt at all, ma'am?" She asked. "I'm a trained medic."

"It's not like wounds or anything... I just feel like I've spent a lot of energy... even though it's been an hour at most…" Anabel looked stubborn and defiant. "Either way, thank you so much for your aid, Rangers. You and Jake have been really impressing us with your strength."

"You sure? Fatigue isn't something to take lightly," Aubrey commented. "I would know, I've had Van on my case a couple times after pushing myself farther than my body could handle."

"Ooooh have I," Vanessa chimed, remembering the times she had to be the responsible one between the two of them.

"Positive. We only have one Ultra Beast left to take... then we can rest easy knowing our mission's done. Right Mr. Looker?" Anabel readjusted herself and stood ready at attention. Aubrey could tell she was looking for Mr. Looker to back her up and seemed a bit amused at how much Anabel reminded the Ranger of herself.

"Of course Chief, but you do seem rather tired," Looker pointed out. "Why don't you go ahead and see if you can set up a meeting place on Poni Island, and try to relax until we get there?"

Anabel's eyes widened. "B-but Mr. Looker..."

"Come now sweetheart. It'll be easier on all of us if we know you are in your best condition. Right now you do seem a bit frazzled and like you can stand to take a break. You've earned it." Jake chimed in.

"We're meeting up with the Ultra Recon Squad at the Altar of the Sunne. If you wanna go with us to bring the UBs back, meet us there," Aubrey informed.

"...Alright. I'll concede. Just please be careful around Gluttony. It's no laughing matter... Thank you though for your care and patience." Anabel humbly agreed to this.

"You got a beef with Guzzlord?" The older ranger asked.

"...I faced off against one on one and nearly died...if I wasn't able to get help from the others who rescued me...who knows what would've happened." Anabel clenched her fists tightly and held her wrist for comfort.

"We'll be careful around that one, ma'am," Aubrey promised. "You can count on that."

"Yeah... we will." Jake nodded though he seemed to be thinking deeply on everything he'd come to know about Guzzlord.

"Then good luck to you all." Anabel said as she summoned Salamance and flew off towards the Altar.

With all that said and done, the rangers and Jake would make their own way to Poni Island once Aubrey was dried off from her stunt dive to catch Celesteela. They'd get as far as Hapu's house when they ran into two familiar faces.

"Oh hey! Sina! Dexio!" Aubrey called.

"Aubrey! Jake!" Sina waved. "Long time no see!"

"Sina and Dexio...oh, you're the assistants to Professor Sycamore over in Kalos. He researches Mega Evolution," Vanessa noted.

"Right you are," Dexio responded. "Friend of theirs?"

"She's Aubrey's partner in crime as a Ranger." Jake chuckled though he still seemed a bit serious all of a sudden.

"I'm Aubrey's Partner, yeah," Vanessa answered. "Name's Vanessa Parker, glad to meet ya."

"Well met, Vanessa. We had something to give you." Dexio held some sort of cube like device in his hand. "You know of the Pokemon Zygarde, right?"

"Zygarde…" Vanessa thought. "Oh yes, I think that one was on the Union's Rader...it is said to be the Guardian of the Ecosystem, yes?"

"That's right. While you were taking part in your island trials, we noted that creatures known as Zygarde Cells were scattered across Alola. We've taken the initiative to gather and store them, and other similar creatures known as Zygarde Cores in this cube." Dexio would hand the cube over to Vanessa. "If you happen to find Zygarde, this will allow it to achieve its true power."

"Mhm! It'd be nice if you could help Zygarde - I remember Dexio and I having to deal with some overzealous types who were trying to take it for themselves," Sina noted.

"Of course," Vanessa agreed.

"Now let's go find our mark," Jake said with fierce resolve.

"Right. Take care, guys!" Aubrey waved goodbye to Sina and Dexio after getting pointed in the right direction to Resolution Cave.

Once they stepped into Poni Grove, Aubrey would notice how they had a bit of a walk ahead of them. "...So...shall we catch a ride from our Pokemon?" She suggested, going for Don's Poke Ball.

"Sure!" Vanessa agreed, sending out her Rapidash and hopping on. Jake agreed as well, summoning Byon and climbing on board before taking a deep breath and releasing.

"Right, come on out, Don!" Aubrey called out her Mudsdale, with Vatonage, who had done a lot of running today, hopped onto the saddle he had with her.

"Umbreeee!" Vatonage cheered, as if to cry 'Onwards!' The group rode onwards through the grove, across the plains, and after a short ride together thanks to their Pokemon, they would arrive at Poni Meadow in a timely fashion.

"Huh...spooky place. This must be the last of the Oricorio hangouts," Vanessa noted.

"Perfect hideaway for a monster..." Jake said with careful analysis.

"The Pokemon here look anxious," Aubrey noticed, hopping off Don's saddle. Vatonage would hop off after her, sniffing around for what it was that made the Pokemon nervous.

"Umbre..." The trail would take him into the Resolution Cave. "Umbre umb umbre!" He called, beckoning for the others to follow him.

"We're right behind you, Vatonage!" Aubrey recalled her Mudsdale as she went after her Dark-type partner. Jake followed onward with a furious pace, looking vengeful and hungry for battle. Vanessa followed as well, though she kept a watchful eye on Jake. He was acting in a way that Aubrey acted whenever she got wound up over something.

The two would follow after Aubrey and Vatonage, and as they delved deeper into the cave, they heard sounds of fighting up ahead. With roars and moves going off, it definitely sounded like two big Pokemon were throwing down inside the deepest part of the cave.

"Huh...that is a lot of noise," Vanessa stated the obvious.

"That's... not what I expected..." Jake momentarily looked caught off-guard but then had a realization. "There must be a fight going on with Guzzlord and somebody else!"

"Yeah...no telling what, though. You two sure we're ready to go in?" Aubrey asked, standing outside the deepest portion of the cave, Tenor's Poke Ball in hand.

"I am, Brey!" The younger ranger stood ready.

"Never been more ready to lay the beatdown on something before in my life...besides the thing with Nihilego but yeah." Jake confessed.

"Okay. Let's go!" Aubrey would lead the way inside.

When they entered, they would find that Guzzlord was one of the battlers, but their opponent would come as a shock to them - Zygarde!

"Well! Looks like we came across a Legendary doing it's job!" Vanessa exclaimed, amazed by the sight before her.

Guzzlord would turn around to see the intruders on this fight, letting out a loud roar at them.

"Wait...if Guzzlord was fighting Zygarde..." Aubrey remembered after wincing from the roar. "Van! The cube! Get it to Zygarde! I'll cover you!" She called out her Primarina, who looked surprised by the big monster before him. "It's okay Tenor, it's a Dark/Dragon type Pokemon! It's got nothing on you!"

"Priiiima!" Tenor smiled.

"Clefable, I need a bit of cover!" Vanessa sent out her Clefable.

"This bastard destroyed part of Alola, destroyed my perception of Alola, and nearly killed Anabel...no longer will it run FREE! Hazel I choose you!" Jake with heaving passion and determination summoned his long-lost Posy Picker Pokemon who was all too excited to fight again.

Vanessa would use the attacks being sent Guzzlord's way to make her way over to Zygarde and bring out the cube. "Hey, I think your missing friends are here!" She called. Zygarde would look at the cube and it starts to glow, the cells coming on out of the device. Everyone there felt the presence of many!

"Um...umbree?" Vatonage was trembling.

"It's okay little guy!" Aubrey called. "Zygarde's just getting to its full power..."

Guzzlord turned around and was taken aback by Zygarde's new, and complete, form. It roared again, standing its ground against the odds against it.

"Holy crap! It's a Megazord!" Jake gasped, eyes wide from the new form.

The first thing Zygarde did was launch a wave of it's cells from one of the flowing tails coming off it's shoulders, which morphed into a draconic head. These cells would hit Guzzlord and lock it in place!

"Ooooh...sitting duck!" Vanessa called.

"Couldn't have said it better myself. Tenor, Moonblast!" Aubrey called. Tenor had a different idea in mind, taking lunar energy and putting it inside an orb of water - he combo'd Moonblast and Sparkling Aria to shower Guzzlord in aquatic lunar energy!

"Hazel, Play Rough!" Hazel followed Jake's lead and gleefully seemed to bounce over to Guzzlord, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, before walloping it in a cloud of fairy dust with her arms.

Vanessa also had Clefable send in a Moonblast, while Zygarde meanwhile shot up more of it's Cells to rain down on Guzzlord like a thousand arrows falling from the sky. The Ultra Beast, however, still looked like it was raring to go if hurt.

"Holy crap that thing is taking a beating…" Vanessa breathed.

"We'll beat it as long as it takes!" Jake exclaimed. Zygarde however seems to want to finish this, and motions for them to back off.

"All yours, big guy!" Aubrey exclaimed, recalling Tenor as she readied a Beast Ball.

"Oh well ok then Zygarde...Hazel, Floral Healing our best ally!" Jake agreed. Hazel smiled and with a radiant garden blooming underneath Zygarde, replenished the Land Pokemon's health.

Zygarde would fly up, and then ram down into Guzzlord, pushing it back onto the big platform in the back of this cave before flying up and opening up the big mouth on it's chest. All 5 tails were pointing forward before unleashing a large beam of draconic energy and tracing a blazing green Z on the ground, which then proceeded to erupt with power, swallowing Guzzlord up!

"Whoooooooo...!" Jake jumped up and down happily while Hazel danced around gleefully, scattering petals prettily around them. Aubrey threw out the Beast Ball once Guzzlord had been significantly weakened, the gluttonous monster sucked inside the device.

One...two...three...

Click!

"We did it!" Vanessa cheered. Zygarde lands and reverts back to it's 50% Form, the cells heading back inside the cube.

Jake put his hands over his heart and started crying tears of joy, feeling overcome with emotion. He had finally conquered all Alolan demons and made the region a safer place. All done side by side with his dearest friends made in this region. Now he could finally say this was a worthy region to live in with a special atmosphere all its own. "Now...we're at peace."

"Yeah...all that's left is to bring back the UBs, and we're done," Aubrey smiled, collecting the last Beast Ball. "...Oh yeah, Van. What should we do with Zygarde here? After all, Sina did mention that crazies were trying to take it for themselves."

"Hmm…" Vanessa thought on it before making an offer. "Zygarde, we're with an organization that protects the people and Pokemon of the world. Would you be willing to help us with that?" The Legendary stares down at them and nods.

"Well after you, partner. We'll meet you outside and fly off to the altar." Aubrey sure looked ready to go, as Vatonage looked ready for a nap. She'd kneel down and start carrying her Umbreon. "Oh c'mon, we're almost there, little guy. I could go for a rest too, but we can rest when the job is done."

"I'll even order a pizza and some Poke Puffs for all of us to enjoy...hehehe..." Jake wiped his tears and spoke cheerfully. Zygarde would put most of its cells in the cube, leaving about ten percent and taking the form of a dog and follows the group out.

One flight later, they would finally meet up with Dulse and Zossie at the Altar of the Sunne, as well as Looker and a rested Anabel, all waiting for their arrival.

"Ah! They're here!" Zossie pointed out, waving to the trio. "Hey guys!" Anabel would take a look at what happened when they told her what she missed.

"Wow...you recruited the Legendary to your arms? And captured Guzzlord? Truly you are righteous paragons of peace and truth! Thank you for helping us on such short notice." Anabel smiled, looking very touched by their success.

"Yeah, Zygarde was fighting Guzzlord when we showed up. Helped it gain its full power, and then Zygarde clowned on him," Aubrey reported. "Bet that makes your day, huh?" She had a smile saying that last part.

"Definitely." Anabel smiled, teary-eyed and eternally grateful.

"Okay, so...we got a plan on how to bring them back?" Aubrey asked the Ultra Recon Squad members.

"I'm glad you asked! We're gonna be traveling through the Ultra Wormhole," Zossie answered.

"There's different Warp Holes inside the Wormhole," Dulse explained. "Blue, red, green, yellow, and white. You want to go through the white Warp Holes to return the UBs to their homes."

"You have Solgaleo with you, yes?" Dulse asked.

"What, you mean Nebby? Yeah we do," Aubrey answered, holding his ball.

"To speed things along, one of you could ride with us on our Lunala we used to arrive here," Zossie added. "That way, we can bring them home twice as fast!"

It was then as Aubrey was getting the Beast Balls together did Dulse notice something. "There's one less...is one missing?"

"Uhh..." Aubrey looked to her two companions to explain the missing Kartana.

"Kartana's been adopted! It was a lovely chatty Ultra Beast and really wanted to be part of the Alolan society, especially the youth. So it's with them now." Jake explained sweetly.

"...What." Dulse flatly responded, stunned by this development.

"Aww, that's so sweet!" Zossie smiled, having the opposite reaction as her partner. "Well I hope Blade is happy!"

Dulse recomposed himself as Aubrey called out Nebby. "Very well. Shall we divide the workload to speed things along?"

"Yeah. Which one of you is going with them?" Aubrey asked her companions.

"I'll head off with them," Vanessa offered.

"Alright. Jake, you're with me," Aubrey agreed.

"Ok then! Original Alola Dream Team is ready for action!" Jake grinned.

With Aubrey and Jake getting on Nebby's back, Vanessa would be helped onto Lunala by Dulse, as the Ultra Wormhole fired up and they went on through!

"Woaowaoaoaowaoaowaowaoawoaoow!" Jake felt like he was becoming dizzy from the intense sensation.

Indeed the wild and mystical ride through the cosmos was full of luminous rings, various stars, celestial bodies, and a whirlwind of activity as Nebby sped forward with grace and ease. Lunala was right beside them, the Ultra Recon Squad duo and Vanessa enjoying the ride. For Dulse, it was a formality, but for Zossie...

"Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!" She cheered.

"Whooooooooo!" Vanessa was smiling like mad.

They'd soon reach a pair of white Warp Holes, and they'd head on through one of each.

Aubrey and Jake would find themselves in a strangle jungle, Nebby stopping on the surface of one of the very large and very flex happy trees, standing motionless but looking very much alive and full of personality.

"...I feel like these trees are trying to assert dominance over me," Aubrey deadpanned.

"I thought we were done with the tree memes," Jake cringed.

"Well...if I had to take a guess based on personality, this is where Buzzwole lives." Aubrey would take Buzzwole's Beast Ball and start scaling the flexing limbs of the trees to find a good spot to release it.

"Careful, Aubs. These trees might sweat sap on you or something." Jake joked while also showing concern for Aubrey.

"Wouldn't surprise me!" She called back to him, scaling up to the tallest tree there to call out Buzzwole for release. "Alright big guy...this is your home. Be free."

Buzzwole flexed its arms before flying off, looking thankful for the generous return home it got. The ranger smiled, looking relieved that these went over easily.

"Whew! Safe and secure!" Jake beamed.

Meanwhile with Vanessa, she ended up in a world that looks like it had constant lightning strikes, Thunder Stones on the ground, and Xurkitree running around on what look to be very very big wires.

"Here we are, Ultra Plant!" Zossie smiled.

"Yes...this is where Electricity calls home," Dulse added.

"Huh...interesting…" Vanessa observed Xurkitree running around trying to get hit with the lightning. "And considering I am seeing some of them running around down there..." She sent out Xurkitree to release it. "Enjoy being home, my friend!"

The Xurkitree went to a spot to plant itself in the ground, looking comfy and content being back home.

"We're getting close to done, I think we've got...only two more collectively?" Zossie wondered.

"Yes. Aubrey and Jake should be bringing that one home as we speak. Which leaves Gluttony to be returned to its home..." Dulse answered.

"Why do I detect a bit of worry in your voice there?" Vanessa asked.

"The Ultra Ruin...may be recognizable to you," Dulse vaguely answered.

After some time, the group would find themselves in their last stop of the return tour. A feeling of dread would overcome them as they saw a man in a hazmat suit outside a large, open pipe.

"Uh...what's going on here?" Aubrey wondered.

"Hey! What are you all doing here?" The man asked them.

"Just here to drop someone off," The older ranger answered.

"Uhhh...this place makes me feel like something bad happened." Jake looked around anxiously. "Not that I would be surprised."

"Yeah. Uh...was not expecting a person here actually," Vanessa admitted.

"Ahhh...you all came from another world. That would explain it," The man realized. "Well, I guess it doesn't really matter. I know it's a bit of a mess, but feel free to do what you need to do here. If you want to head out, just follow that pipe."

"So um...what exactly happened here? And why are you wearing that?" Aubrey asked.

"Everyone else ran off to some distant planet. But since Mr. Glutton left, I've been like, y'know, staying behind to watch over it," The man explained.

"Mr. Glutton...you mean Guzzlord?" Aubrey realized.

"Yup, that's right. Why, do you know what happened to him?" The man asked.

"We...have him actually." Jake responded.

"You do? That's great!" The man looked happy.

"Mmm..." Zossie was thinking. "The air might be a bit hard for you three to breathe..." She noted.

"That bad? What happened here?" Vanessa wanted to know what was going on here.

"Put simply, the environment out through that pipe is far too dangerous. I cannot in good faith let any of you go through there," Dulse warned.

"You can thank Mr. Glutton for that," The man sighed.

"No worries! I can take care of it!" Zossie would reach into a pouch on her belt, getting out a protective mask that covered her nose and mouth, taking the Beast Ball from Aubrey. "I'll go put Gluttony back. I'll only be just a moment."

"Alrighty then. Yeesh though. So these are all alternate planes of existence? Not just pocket worlds?" Jake questioned.

"Yes, that would be correct," Dulse answered as his partner crawled through the pipe to release Guzzlord.

"It seems like it…" Vanessa had a thoughtful look. "What was this place called?"

"Oh, this place? We called it Hau'oli," The man simply answered them. This would cause the three to pause in their tracks.

"...Excuse me, what." Aubrey flatly responded. She shuddered for a moment. "On any other day, this would get me to wet my pants..."

Vanessa had a horrified facial expression. "...Oh my...I'm...I'm at a loss for words."

Jake though wasn't too phased. "Hey, if we avert catastrophe in our world, that just means we have nothing to fear. Although it is sad to see what has happened here..."

"You said it, man..." Aubrey agreed as Zossie soon returned.

"I'm back! Gluttony's been returned safe and sound!" She smiled upon removing her protective mask. "Shall we head back to Alola now?"

"Yeah." Vanessa nodded in agreement. To Guzzlord's caretaker, she said, "Uh, see you again maybe?"

"Yeah, we'll send you postcards...and Malasadas." Jake said with an awkward supportiveness.

"Yeah! Take care, fellas!" The man waved them goodbye as they got on their respective legendaries, heading back through the Warp Hole.

After the group returned, Vatonage, who was napping at Anabel's feet, eagerly ran over to Aubrey to hug her, his tail wagging in excitement upon their triumphant return.

"Yeah, we're back!" Aubrey laughed, rubbing his head. "We can go back to HQ now for a nice feast and rest..." She then looked at Anabel and Looker, who were less than thrilled at...something. "What?"

"Behind you." Looker pointed behind the group with a serious expression.

"...Get a Pokemon out...now..." Anabel warned as she gripped a Poke Ball tightly.

Jake turned around and was met with something so startling it knocked him straight off Nebby and onto the ground, crawling back away desperately.

"GYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He shrieked in terror.

"It's...it's..." Dulse stammered.

"The Blinding One!" Zossie shouted, as Nebby instinctively went to fight with it.

"W-W-Wait...THAT'S the Blinding One?!" Aubrey exclaimed.

"Sweet mother of Arceus…" Vanessa breathed in surprise.

The Blinding One was a large and black prismatic creature that was currently fighting Nebby, and from the looks of things had the upper hand.

"Crap, what's it doing!?" Aubrey grimaced. Vatonage, in a surprising display of guts, immediately leaped out of Aubrey's arms and stood ready to fight. Vanessa would have Gastrodon out, also ready to battle.

"I have no idea, and I do not like it," She said.

Jake summoned Forrest hastily although he still looked quite petrified. "T-then it's what caused...power outages then...!"

Anabel summoned Entei and looked determined. "We have to work together against this one."

Looker would send out his trusty Croagunk. "I couldn't agree more, Chief."

Aubrey paused upon realizing what Jake meant.

Flashback...

"Once tomorrow rolls around-" As Kukui said this, suddenly the light of night...went completely pitch black outside.

"What in the world..." Aubrey looked outside. It didn't last for long, as the natural light outside returned after a moment.

"...Ok uh...that was either a sudden freak power outage or a Pokemon flew overhead or... well, anything else." Jake pointed out.

"Pew…" Nebby sounded scared from where he was.

"Don't worry, Nebby - it's okay," Lillie assured.

"A long long time ago, Alola was cloaked in darkness, yeah...but people say that's when Alola's people and Pokemon blasted all that darkness away with light!" Kukui explained. "And they also say that's why people started gathering Z-Crystals, and that custom turned into the island challenge."

"Thanks for the info," Aubrey responded.

"That... sounds too anime for me to be buying it, I'm afraid Professor." Jake shook his head.

End Flashback...

"So, what Kukui was saying...this is what caused it. And you said it was too anime!" Aubrey exclaimed. She almost didn't notice Necrozma and Nebby coming back down to crash land onto the Altar until Vanessa shoved her out of the way in time.

"Careful, Brey!" Vanessa exclaimed. The group would soon see what had happened - Necrozma and Nebby had formed into some...strange beast that was two Pokemon, but fused into one.

"That's neither here nor there now Aubs! I was young!" Jake insisted. "And crap! We got to free them for Lillie's sake!"

"The heck...did it just pull a Kyurem and fuse?" Vanessa wondered at the sight before them.

"Yes...that's the Blinding One's Dusk Mane form!" Zossie warned. "Be careful, guys!" Forrest looked angered at Nebby's life being jeopardized and quickly sent a Spirit Shackle arrow flying at the creation. He would make sure it couldn't get away.

"Grr..." Aubrey got back to her feet, Capture Styler in hand. "You give me back Nebby right now or so help me! Capture...ON!" She flicked out her Capture Disc, having taken the choice of not wanting to hurt Nebby.

"Capture ON!" Vanessa followed her partner's lead, knowing that Gastrodon would do more damage than help here.

Thanks to Forrest's Spirit Shackle, the Dusk Mane beast was held in place as the rangers' Capture Discs went to work. But boy did it look angry, causing Aubrey to know exactly what had to happen, as much as she hated to admit it.

"Shoot...Vatonage, I know you and I both don't wanna do this, but I need some assistance here!" Aubrey called. "Shadow Ball!"

"Umbre!" Vatonage did want to get his buddy back too, firing off a Shadow Ball to do a decent chunk of damage as a Poke Assist.

"Extrasensory, Entei!" Anabel joined in. Entei unleashed a powerful psychic force that made Dusk Mane flinch.

With their combined attacks and effort, Dusk Mane's wrath would subside, but it had the sense to swipe away the Capture Lines and make a break for it through the Ultra Wormhole, much to their surprise...and Aubrey's fury.

"NEBBY!" She screamed, punching the ground. "Dammit!" Dark clouds started to roll in over the skies of Alola as they'd hear the beating of wings approaching.

Vanessa would place a reassuring hand on Aubrey's shoulder. "We're getting him back, Brey."

"As much as I'd like to mourn...something's coming." Jake looked up to the sky.

That something would be a large, metal armor covered raven looking Pokemon, and riding on its back was a very familiar face to the trio, who hopped down off its back and made an impressive three point landing.

"...Key?" Aubrey looked up to see the merchant's smiling face.

"Miss Ranger! I've been looking all over for you and Vanessa!" Key greeted. "I heard that your HQ had finally opened for business, and I wished to come by and say hello...but you weren't there. However, your new hires told me you'd be here, so here I am." The merchant looked around at the situation and the others. "Eh...heh heh...is this a bad time?"

"Yeah...we have had better days, Key," Vanessa answered.

"Actually it was a really fine and exciting day of saving Alola from Ultra Beasts but...the Blinding One came and took Nebby from us." Jake explained bitterly.

Key let out a gasp. "It took Nebby? But...where did it go?"

"There's only one place the Blinding One would go to regain it's true form..." Dulse spoke up. "We need to go to Ultra Megalopolis."

"Say no more then. I'll help you," Key immediately volunteered to provide assistance, much to the Hoenn native's surprise. Forrest lowered his head in shame.

"Oh yeah, what's the new Pokemon you got there?" Aubrey asked.

"Oh, this? This is Corviknight, a Steel/Flying type from the Galar region," Key explained. "And my new team member!"

"Well I'm glad to have you and your mystery Pokemon back." Jake beamed. "They look awesome!" Forrest bowed in respect of the new Pokemon. Key's Corviknight cawed at the group, flapping its metallic wings.

"Well, Dulse? Zossie? Can you two give us a ride to Ultra Megalopolis?" Aubrey asked them, looking a tiny bit desperate to get Nebby back.

"Say no more - we'll do it!" Zossie agreed.

"If you two could stay here to keep people away from the Ultra Wormhole, we would appreciate it," Dulse requested of Anabel and Looker. "It was our mission to stop the Blinding One from stealing Alola's light. As such, it is our responsibility to do what we can to save it."

"Yeah, and Alola's such an awesome place!" Zossie added. "It'd be awful if it were sent into darkness, and the people here suffered because of it. Please, let us make things right!"

"Make haste then! We're counting on you." Anabel nodded and gave them her permission.

"Off we go into the beyond." Vanessa got back onto Lunala as Aubrey, Jake, and Key did the same.

Once everyone making the trip was on Lunala, it was back through the Ultra Wormhole with them. After some travel, they'd head through a Warp Hole where they'd find themselves in a large, dark city where the center of town was a brightly lit tower.

"Huh...this place seems...gloomy," Vanessa noted.

"Eat your heart out Gotham," Jake said, looking around.

"If it weren't for the tower at the center, I'd try to sell you night vision goggles," Key deadpanned in her usual, chipper tone. They'd be met by two people who looked very similar to Dulse and Zossie - one was a shapely female, and the other was a man with a very impressive mustache.

"Captain Phyco!" Both Dulse and Zossie greeted.

"Welcome, residents of Alola," The woman greeted the power quartet. "I am Soliera, a member of the Ultra Recon Squad. And this man here is our leader, Captain Phyco."

"Dulse! Zossie! You're back!" Phyco warmly welcomed his subordinates. "Perfect timing too! The Blinding One has returned!"

"Yeah, we know that part already," Dulse responded. "Our friends here have had their Solgaleo taken by it - can you please brief them on the Blinding One so that they may be able to rescue Solgaleo?"

"But of course! Might I ask we get introductions out of the way first, hmm?" Phyco stroked his mustache as he asked.

"I'm Vanessa Parker. Pokemon ranger," Vanessa greeted.

"Aubrey Bradford. I'm her partner," Aubrey greeted in kind.

"I am Kiara Dermott, but I answer to Key. Valued sales representative of Sevii Mercantile," Key introduced herself.

"Jake Hagguire, feeling like I'm in limbo right now but ready to save Nebby. A friend entrusted them to Aubrey and I'm not letting her down." Jake grinned.

"My pleasure to meet you all," Phyco responded.

Vatonage hopped off of Lunala, and ran over to Aubrey instinctively, running around her legs in energetic circles. This place looked so cool, and they were gonna save Nebby!

"So...The Blinding One. Does it have a name?" Aubrey asked.

"Yes. The Blinding One is what we call Necrozma. You've got good timing, for it is resting atop the Megalo Tower. Our people have fled inside to safety, fearing that if it flies into another rage, it would be disastrous for all of us," Soliera explained.

"Since Necrozma has found a source of light, in this case your Solgaleo, it will regain its true form," Phyco continued. "However, it cannot control its own light in the broken form it was left in after it lost a part of itself. This power will only bring Necrozma more pain." He suddenly had a somber look. "We used the power of our technology to try and quiet Necrozma, just as we did to try and provide our dark world with some light. Necrozma...and ourselves, as a result, have suffered much hardship in so many long years, living a life we did not wish for."

"So it's in pain...and you could not help it…" Vanessa's voice had a sad tone to it.

"Then why did it follow us you think? To find and unite with Nebby?" Jake inquired.

"...Well if it feeds off light...maybe Solgaleo and Lunala make light energy in their bodies?" The younger ranger theorized.

"Yeah, that lines up with what we observed back at the Altar," Zossie agreed. "Necrozma must've followed us back to Alola after noticing the intense light that Solgaleo and Lunala were radiating."

"Necrozma is in the tower up ahead, yes?" Key then asked.

"Correct. Please, help us stop it, before it is too late," Soliera requested.

"Umbre!" Vatonage wasn't willing to wait, he wanted to rescue Nebby.

"Do you have any advice on how to stop it?" Aubrey asked. "Typing, moves, weaknesses..anything will help us."

"From our observation, The Blinding One's true form has a typing of Psychic/Dragon according to the rules your world have," Phyco explained. "We have based this off of Dulse's communicated reports back to us and our own observations here."

Vanessa raised an eyebrow. "Well that is interesting…"

"It really is!" Key giggled. "How ironic - Dark-types beat the light. Looks like your Umbreon will be a big help to us, Miss Ranger!"

"Yeah! You hear that, Vatonage? This is your time to shine!" Aubrey beamed.

"Umbreeee!" Vatonage cheered, ignoring the pun that his partner just made.

"Come along. We've wasted enough time." Key suddenly had a serious expression. "All of Alola is counting on what we do here, and what we need to do is defeat Necrozma and reclaim our world's light! Who's with me!?"

"Do you even need to ask me that?" Vanessa was already raring to go.

"Doesn't matter how tough Necrozma is in its true form...I'm getting Nebby back no matter what!" Aubrey exclaimed.

"Well let's make like princes and climb the tower darlings! Key, make sure to stay with Aubrey!" Jake urged cheerfully. "Me and Van can take the frontal approach."

As they went on ahead with high spirits, they would find only one way up - through an elevator in the front of the tower.

One elevator ride later, there'd be a large, spiraling staircase to climb, stopping at a normal set of stairs before the top.

"Well...here we are guys. This is probably gonna be our toughest battle yet, but...if we're together, there's no way we're losing here," Aubrey smiled. "Shall we?"

"Of course!" Vanessa responded.

"More than ready to get down to business, Miss Ranger," Key hummed. For the stakes being so high, she didn't seem too worried about their odds.

"Bring it on!" Jake smirked.

"Yeah. I'll help get us set up," The younger ranger added.

With a collective nod, the group would head up the last set of stairs to see Dusk Mane Necrozma as bright yellow light was surrounding it in an aura, gathering up around it. A multicolored prism came out of the spot on its forehead, floating up into the air above them as light erupted around Dusk Mane Necrozma, forcing them all to look away as Necrozma took on its true form.

It was a bright white, four winged dragon sporting yellow prism like armored segments on its face, chest, and feet, letting out a loud roar as it studied the four brave souls standing before it.

"Oooh, shiny," Vanessa breathed.

"Shiny or not, it's about to be #Dragonslayed...or more appropriately #Dragonsplit." Jake said as he summoned Forrest and Hazel to the field.

"Comfey!" Hazel let everyone know she was ready.

"Oh I am with you on that," Vanessa agreed, sending out Gastrodon and Clefable.

"Corviknight! Some assistance, please!" Key called out Corviknight, letting out a caw as it stared down Necrozma.

"Vatonage? It's your time, buddy," Aubrey had a determined voice tone as Vatonage ran forward, looking eager to fight. "Alright Necrozma...I know you've suffered a lot, but you're gonna give Nebby back to me right now!"

Necrozma let out a roar, accepting their battle challenge as an aura flared up around it.

"Clefable! Set up the Light Screen Reflect Combo!" Vanessa instructed.

"Grassy Terrain, Hazel! We're going to need to sustain!"

Hazel summoned a verdant field of greenery that spread across the field, sending life energies flowing into all the combatants.

"Hone Claws, Corviknight!" Key instructed, Corviknight doing exactly as she said.

"Alright Vatonage, it's time we show this big light lizard we mean business. Show 'em that Foul Play we've worked on!" Aubrey shouted, Vatonage making the first attack and colliding with Necrozma, who would've hit Clefable with a Smart Strike if it wasn't for Vatonage's intervention.

"Thanks for that!" Vanessa called to Aubrey. "Clefable! Moonblast! Gastrodon, lay down the ice with Ice Beam!"

"Spirit Shackle, Forrest!" Jake followed up with another command. Forrest took flight and sent a shadowy spirit arrow lock at the large target. All their attacks together did good damage against Necrozma, but it was merely getting started. It charged up a large blast of light, turning into a bright orb and launching it at the group. Vatonage instinctively got in the way of the attack, being blown back from the force.

"Vatonage!" Aubrey shouted. Her fears would be subsided with her Umbreon kipped back up to his feet, feeling totally fine. "I see...that was a Psychic move! Looked like its signature."

Necrozma would use Power Gem, prompting Key to take action. "Intercept with Steel Wing, Corviknight!" The merchant swiftly instructed. Corviknight flew into action, its steel wings clashing against the Rock-type attack. It was hurt a bit from the move, but shook it off well.

"Floral Healing, Hazel!" Hazel cast it's healing flora magic on Corviknight to keep them steady and healthy. Clearly Hazel was serving as a main support for this fight. Corviknight would give a caw of approval of Hazel's support as Vatonage went for another Foul Play, striking Necrozma for another considerable hit. Forrest continued to shoot out Spirit Shackles as his main form of damage again and again against Necrozma. Gastrodon would keep laying down the Ice Beams with Clefable keeping the Screens up.

Necrozma charged up a Dragon Pulse at Forrest, prompting Aubrey to call it out. "Dragon Pulse, incoming!"

Forrest snuck into the shadows with Shadow Sneak to avoid the attack and then emerged upward the Ultra Beast, cutting at them with his talons.

Another hit landed, Key shouting out, "Hone Claws again, Corviknight, follow it up with Drill Peck!"

After honing its claws again, Corviknight went for a spiraling pecking attack at Necrozma's chest, and they'd notice it was starting to tire faster than they thought, much to the merchant's amusement.

"Hey, by any chance does that thing have-" Aubrey was cut off.

"Pressure? Yup!" Key answered with a smile.

"Okay...where did you find that Pokemon in Galar?" Vanessa really wanted to know where Key got this powerful party member from.

"I'll tell you once things calm down. But for now, we must defeat this beast!" Key answered, getting back to the battle.

"Yeah, and it's looking close to worn out, guys!" Aubrey exclaimed. "Vatonage, Foul Play once more!"

"I think we're ready for the Coup De Grace! Hazel, Grass Knot! Forrest, time for the Sinister Arrow Raid!"

"Corviknight, launch Vatonage at Necrozma! Send that Dark-type missile right in its face and finish this!" Key shouted. Corviknight responded in kind, flying up to avoid another Dragon Pulse, doing a circle in the air as it flew towards Necrozma.

As this happened, Hazel summoned powerful vines from the Grassy Terrain that tripped up Necrozma and left it vulnerable to Forrest who swooped in with an arsenal of powerful spectral projectiles just as Vatonage crash landed into them for a true follow-up all-out attack!

With one last collision, Necrozma would fall in defeat with a pained roar, as it collapsed to the platform in a loud thud. A bright light enveloped the beast as it floated up, the two beasts now separated, with Nebby letting out a roar to show he was okay.

"YEAH! OH YEAH!" Aubrey shouted, fistbumping Key and hugging Vanessa and Jake. "We just DID that!"

"Heck yeah!" Vanessa gladly returned the hug.

"HALLELLOO!" Jake returned the hug with exuberant joy as Forrest and Hazel also made a group hug with the Corviknight, Vatonage, Clefable, and Gastrodon.

Dulse and Zossie would be the ones to come up to them after the battle was over.

"Ah! You did it!" Zossie beamed. "We saw the whole thing from the ground - all of you were incredible in battling the Blinding One!"

"Necrozma..." Dulse would approach the defeated Necrozma, who looked at it with pity in his normally stoic eyes. "I must apologize for everything that has happened to you. We know you were only looking for light to ease your suffering."

"Well...if Necrozma was looking for someone to share its light with, then maybe our Lunala can help," Zossie suggested. "We did get this cool device from this Colress guy."

"So...you'll be good?" Aubrey asked. "Everything's gonna be okay?"

"Yes. Thanks to all of you, not only were the UBs safely brought to their homes without incident, even one of them finding a new one, you also reclaimed Alola's light and helped Necrozma too!" Zossie beamed. "Aubrey, Vanessa...words alone cannot express our gratitude. On behalf of Ultra Megalopolis's people, I don't think Area Rangers quite cuts it for you two. Super Rangers is more fitting!"

"Jake, Key...both of you were vital to success here. We are in your debts," Dulse added.

"Aww, I was only doing the right thing," Key hummed.

"You don't gotta be so humble about it, Key! Mission Clear!" Aubrey cheered.

Vanessa merely chuckled. "Super Ranger. I like the sound of that, but I doubt it would fly. Mission Clear!" She would strike her pose with Aubrey.

"You're welcome. Now we're finally done with the Ultra saga here." Jake smiled with celebratory pride. "Mission Clear!" Jake then did a pirouette into his victory pose.

Nebby would open up an Ultra Wormhole for the four to go back to Alola through.

"Well...I guess this is goodbye," Aubrey said, hopping on Nebby's back with Vatonage hopping in her lap.

"Yes. Thank you for everything, everyone," Dulse responded.

"We won't forget you!" Zossie waved them goodbye as they got on Nebby's back to leave.

"Yeah, you two grew on me, and I'm really honored we helped your society. Stay true to yourselves and remember us, ok? Come visit if you want a party!" Jake beamed as he said his farewells and returned his Pokemon.

"You're welcome in Alola any time!" Vanessa added as they took their leave.

By the time they returned to Alola, the sun was setting as light had returned to the region. Aubrey would be the first to hop off Nebby's back when they made their triumphant return.

"And the people of Alola could rest easy, for the beasts were brought back to their rightful homes, as well as what was stolen from us has been returned. We are victorious!" Key reported to Anabel and Looker, who were very happy to see them return.

"Glad to see you're all safe!" Looker smiled, relieved to see them back.

"You've done the International Police a great favor and for nothing in return. All of you will be recognized for your efforts in good light and we're really appreciative of the determination you displayed." Anabel applauded them politely.

Jake got off and settled on the ground. "You're welcome. Really I just wanted to conquer my fears of the Ultra Beasts here and I've fully succeeded."

"You've done a damn good job facing down your fears, man," Aubrey congratulated, giving him a supportive pat on the back. "I'm really proud to see how far you've come since we first met."

"Thanks, Aubs. Once Nebby's freedom was on the line, even Necrozma was not that scary to me anymore. I'm also glad to know we restored the balance in a way for all these Beasts to be where they feel most at ease." Jake nodded in a satisfied manner and blushed gently.

With Vatonage letting out a tired yawn, Aubrey picked him back up. "Alright, alright. We'll head back to HQ. Key, you mind bringing Jake back to his place here?"

"No problem!" The merchant agreed. "I'll stick around here in Alola for a while until my next assignment. I quite like it here - bright, colorful, and plenty of places to kick back and enjoy yourself."

"I hear ya on that one, Key!" The younger ranger agreed.

"True, I am SO late now and my love's probably a bit frantic atm..." Jake checked his phone and saw a lot of missed messages. "Crap, lots of frantic. Thanks Key. You two treat yourself to a nice meal!"

With a wave goodbye, everyone would go their separate ways to retire for the day. They had more than earned this rest, and they were going to enjoy it.

(So after all this was said and done, HOLY GOD I JUST SMASHED OUR RECORD. OVER TWENTY THOUSAND WORDS! LET'S GOOOOOOO! After this we have Rainbow Rocket, and we should be good enough to finish this for realsies. Stay tuned for any future developments!)
