The story bellow was supposed t be published befoe season 15 start, but i decided to wait and watch the first episode first, to post the story later.
Ther´s not much to say about the story, just that its different of what we saw on the actual episode and i decided to focus the plot just on Effie´s rescue instead, so no Murdoch on this story.
Other than that, thestory will take plave 36 hours after the end of season 15.
Have a nice reading.
PART 1
Trying to hide their affair from the world they live in, Detective Llewellyn Watts and the butcher Jack Walker, decided to take their time off, to go for a walk on the woods, to a picnic or even maybe something else, away from the eyes of the society.
It was a nice walk for both men, as they walk hand in hand, enjoying the warmth of the sun and conversations, about police cases and Jack´s upcoming wedding. Suddenly however, when they stop for a kiss, a sight made Jack´s blood run cold.
''F-for the love of God… what is that?!'' he almost yelled in horror.
Inside a tree, there was a woman, she was pale as a ghost and unconscious, her head was bending down, like a ragged doll.
''Jesus, there´s Miss Newsome…'' Watts gasped and rushed to the tree to release the woman.
''Y-you know her?'' Jack was baffled.
''Yes, now help me here!'' the detective barked and quickly, the butcher run to help him, opening the tree, letting the limp form fall into their embrace, laying the unconscious woman on the ground and uniting her arms and legs.
''Is she alive?'' Jack asked and in response, Watts placed his fingers on her throat.
''Barely'' he replied. ''Jack, go to Station House 4, call my inspector, his name is Brakenreid, ask him to come here immediately and bring an ambulance as well!'' Watts exclaimed and Jack ran back to town.

Back at station 4, Constable Higgins were doing some boring paperwork, when a sweat and tired butcher stormed inside the place asking for the inspector.
''Sir, he´s busy now, may I help you?'' Henry asked confused, seeing that his superior was on the phone.
''Please, its only with him…. Its urgent, there was a woman inside the tree on the woods, detective Watts…''
''Detective Watts? What were you doing with our detective on the woods?'' Higgins growled.
''Its doesn´t concern you! please, I need to see the inspector!'' Jack yelled when suddenly, the Inspector appear behind them.
''What's going on here?'' he asked furious, however, when Jack told them everything about the woman, the Inspector just frowned. ''Higgins, get the lads and call Dr. Ogden, immediately, tell her to wait for us at the hospital!'' the Inspector ordered and follow Jack out the door.

On the woods, despite of detective Watts effort to wake her up, Effie Newsome remain unconscious, this way, he just took out his coat and wrapped her, trying to keep her warm.
''Don´t worry Miss Newsome, help will be here shortly.'' He said when the Inspector and half of the station house force arrived.
''What happened to her?'' the Inspector asked, choosing to be discreet about the fact his detective was on the woods alone with another man.
''She was inside that tree, her arms and legs were tied up Sir, I suppose someone had kidnapped her and let her to die there.'' Watts explain.
''Bloody Hell!'' The Inspector exclaimed and turned to the doctors. ''Take her to the hospital immediately. The rest of you, search around for something unusual.''

The drive toward the hospital was silent, however, they were thankful that at least, Effie managed to stir a bit during the trip, despite of her heartbeat still be low. Once arriving, as expected, Dr. Ogden rush to meet the group, still upon seeing her friend been taken out the ambulance, she gasped in horror.
''What happened to her?'' Julia gasped.
''All I know is that she was found stuck inside of a tree in the woods, barely alive,'' the Inspector replied. ''How are you doing, Doctor?'' he asked.
''I´m trying to keep my mind busy,'' Julia replied with sadness. ''Now, I order to keep Miss Effie Newsome on fluids and perform a full examination, she didn´t recover her consciousness?''
''No.'' Watts said. ''I have tried to wake her up, but no avail.''
''Alright, I will call you if anything change.'' Julia suggested.
''Thank you, Doctor. The rest of you, go back to the station, now!''
''And don´t worry Dr. Ogden, I'm sure Detective Murdoch is safe.'' Watts smiled with simpaty.
''Thank you,'' Julia replied. It happened that just three days ago, her husband, the detective William Murdoch went to Montreal, in search of a boy who called himself his son, just to be missing in action a day later. ''Now if you excuse me, I needed to go back to my patient.'' She said and left quickly.

Back to the station, the Inspector go back to his office, to take some notes and call his wife to tell some information about their son Bobby, when Watts come in with a long face, annoying the Inspector.
''What you want?'' Thomas Asked gruffly. ''You don´t have an investigation to lead?''
''I do, but I think we should discuss with George Crabtree about this first, after all he and Miss Newsome were courting.
''Good luck with that,'' the older man snapped. ''He left this station a few minutes before your Mr. Walker coming in… he took a day off and I don´t have the bloody idea where he is.''
''I…'' the detective tried to talk before the Inspector interrupt again.
''There is another matter Watts, close the door,'' he asked, and the detective did. ''Lets make it clear that Miss Newsome survival Is our priority and we will do whatever it take to bring those who done that to her, to justice. But I want you to know that your actions exposed your love life more than you wished to, every one of this station now knows their detective were in the woods with another man!''
''Sir I was simply…''
''I know you were trying to find help, but I have a lot in mind already, so don´t let my detective´s choice of living been another problem…'' Thomas took a deep breath. ''We already lost Murdoch, don´t make me lost another detective because of a rubbish!''
''I will make everything possible, Sir!'' Watts lowered his head, not ashamed of himself, but ashamed of the situation he could have caused.
''Good, not go do your job!'' the Inspector said and Watts left.
