Chapter 32
It was remarkable how much more refreshed Rachel felt in the morning after she had slept in James arms. When her alarm went off at six thirty, Rachel woke up and let out a content sigh; wide awake and full of energy that made her feel ready for the day. A smile covered her lips as she felt an arm move across her stomach as James' hand gently squeezed her side.
Sitting up in bed, Rachel moved her hand and stroked her boyfriend's face as he smiled back up at her.
"Morning" He murmured softly, his voice groggy as it resonated with sleep. Her fingers stroked his jawline tenderly.
"Hey" She replied smiling at him. "You excited?"
"What for" He said as he turned on his side, smirking up at her.
Rachel rolled her eyes at him, squeezing his neck slightly. "Your first day at McKinley"
"Is that today?" He said lazily, raising a hand and running it through his short hair; sounding almost lazy. Rachel sighed exasperatedly at him before shoving his shoulder playfully, giggling as he started laughing at her.
"Jaaammes" She moaned at him irritated as he pulled her close to him and kissed her. Rachel smiled against his lips as he peppered her with kisses for several minutes. She managed to control herself as he started to make his way to her neck, gently nudging him to let him know she wanted to stop. He released a breath against her skin, pressed a kiss against her neck one final time before pulling back and looking at her with an affectionate smile.
Licking her lips; enjoying the taste of her boyfriend, she rubbed her hand up and down his arm. "Seriously, are you excited?"
James laughed, his hand tenderly and affectionately stroking her bottom. The sensation was soothing bring a smile to her face as she watching him wet his lips before replying; "Of course I am, babe. Not particularly excited about school, but getting to spend my day with you? I can't wait"
"Good answer" Rachel giggled. Letting out a sigh, she glanced at the clock before turning back to her boyfriend. "We should get ready. You want to shower first?"
"Nah" he groaned, rolling onto his back and pulling the covers up to his chin. Adding with a raised eyebrow as the corners of his mouth titled upwards; "You go first and I'll get a bit more sleep"
Rachel rolled her eyes at him, smirking at him as she climbed out of bed as she made her way into her bathroom. After showering and getting dressed, after applying some strawberry lip gloss she walked back into her bedroom to be greeted by the soft adorable sound of James lightly snoring in her bed. Giggling she had sat on the edge of her bed as she gently shook his shoulders. It had taken a little effort to get him to wake up; including pressing a few kisses against his lips she'd felt him smile and attempt to deepen it. Reluctantly pushing him away, Rachel had told him to get dressed as she went downstairs to make herself some breakfast.
Smiling as she saw her Dads already sat in the kitchen with Andrea, Rachel greet them before heading to the breakfast island and after pouring herself a bowl of cereal, Rachel settled down at the table. As she ate, Rachel listened to Andrea telling her Dads about the details of how she was planning on doing the restaurant in Akron. Ten minutes later, James walked into the kitchen singing softly to himself, walking over and pressed a kiss against his moms cheek; his hand touching her shoulder as he walked over to the counter to get his breakfast.
"Good morning son" Leroy said softly as James sat at the table in between her Dads, reaching over to get the milk.
"Mornin' Leroy" James replied smiling as he poured milk over his bran flakes.
"Did you sleep in sweetie?" Andrea asked, holding her coffee cup in both of hands. "I thought You normally go for a run before school?"
"Normally yeah but I'm putting it off for a few days until I get used to my new school schedule." James replied before putting a spoonful of cereal into his mouth.
"Okay sweetheart" Andrea said with a smile. "I don't want you to slack off now that you're in the Scale Blazers anymore"
"I won't ma" James said to try and reassure her before he swallowed. "Besides, I'm not going to suddenly stop dancing; I'm joining the glee club at McKinley so I'll still get my exercise outside of my own personal –"
"You're joining New Directions?" Rachel spoke up, a look of surprise on her face. They hadn't discussed whether or not he was going to join; Rachel hadn't wanted to bring it up in case he thought that was all she cared about. Honestly, she was ecstatic just to have him in Lima with her and would have understood he didn't want to face competing against his friends when the New Directions made it to Nationals in that selfish part of her mind she really did want him to join; knowing that having his vocal prowess in the group could help them win Nationals this year.
"Of course I am" James said and she saw him looking at her with a raised eyebrow, almost if he was surprised at her inquiry. Rachel shrugged as he casually spoke before putting another spoonful of cereal in his mouth; "Why wouldn't I"
"I just wasn't sure. We'd be glad to have you" Rachel replied and she couldn't help the wide smile that crossed her lips at knowing he was going to join.
"At least we don't have to go all the way to Oregon to hear you sing again" Hiram commented with a warm smile.
The five of them laughed, Rachel giggling especially enjoying the smirk that sat on James' face as he chewed his breakfast. A few minutes passed and after he finished eating his breakfast; Rachel smiled as he insisted on washing the dishes up when Hiram had rose from his seat to do it. When he sat back down he chose the seat next to his mom and Rachel bit her lip as she started fiddling with the collar on the blue shirt her son was wearing.
"Come on mom" James whined shrugging his shoulder to get her hand off. "Don't fuss over me"
"I'm sorry sweetheart" Andrea replied, and Rachel giggled as his mom laughed; her hand moving back to resume its straightening of his collar. "I'm just making sure you look smart for your first day; you never could dress yourself"
"Momm" James moaned and the other four people at the table laughed at how childish he sounded, pushing her hand away and undoing the top button that she had done up. "Please, I'm going to put a jacket over the top anyway; no one will care"
"I'd care" Rachel interjected with a smirk as she teased him; "I'm not walking down the halls of McKinley if you can't even button your shirt"
James glared at her as if he couldn't believe that she was siding with his mom. He shook his headand mumbled something quietly in what she thought was Italian. Rachel couldn't help but smile however when he buttoned up the top button of his shirt. When he caught her gaze again she gave him a wink that made the corners of her mouth tilt up in amusement.
"Have you got the things you need for your school schedule?" Andrea asked. Rachel thought that it was sweet how much fretting she was doing over her son and it was even more adorable how James was getting flustered by his mom's actions.
"Yes mom I'm fine" He replied rolling his eyes with a small smile on his lips.
"Do you two have any classes together?" Leroy asked as he put his coffee mug back down on the table.
"We have a few" Rachel answered happily. They had talked about it the day before as she excitedly look over his schedule; happy to see that they shared Ballet, English, History, Chemistry as well as Biology classes together.
"Don't distract her from her studying young man" Andrea said in a warning tone, glaring at her son as she stood up from the table and walked over to the sink with her cup.
"Me?" James said with a laugh, turning around in his chair; a disbelieving look on his face as he looked at her again. Rachel giggled as he looked shocked at what his mom had said as he spoke again; "I'm the distraction"
"You are very distracting" Rachel said teasingly, pressing her lips together to prevent herself from giggling at him as he shook his head at her. Licking her lips, Rachel stood from her seat and walked around the table to press a kiss against his cheek. As she stepped away from him, she winked as she decided to have some fun with me; "Come along Jam sandwich, we don't want to be late for school"
The look on his face was priceless as he heard the nickname that his sister had given him. After a few seconds, he seemed to get over the shock as she slowly walked out of the kitchen, glancing over her shoulder at him just in time to see him standing up with a wicked smirk on his face as he muttered "You better run Berry"
Rachel squealed as she took off running towards the stairs as she heard laughter coming from Andrea and her Dads in the kitchen. Holding onto the bannister, Rachel laughed as she saw James chasing after her as she skipped the steps trying to get away from him; hearing his footsteps stomping behind her. She managed to open her bedroom door when she felt James arms grab her from behind, giggling loudly as he lifted up spinning her around a few times before he chucked her on the bed.
"James!" She managed to get out in between giggles, brushing her hair out of her eyes when she saw him climb on top of her on the bed pinning her arms out to her side with his hands as he lent down. "James we need to go-"
She was silenced as he pressed his mouth against hers and she instantly moaned, opening her mouth; suddenly desperate to feel him close to her. When his tongue touched her lips, for a moment she thought that he was going to keep kissing her, only for him to pull his face away from hers as he hovered over her. Blinking a few times, Rachel leaned forward to try and join their lips again but his hands were still holding her down so she could only lift herself slightly off the bed.
Groaning, Rachel threw herself back against the bed exasperated and look up at him with pleading eyes; begging him to kiss her again. Huskily she said his name."
There was a glint in his eye as he smirked down at her and he leaned forward again that made her groin heat as she thought he was going to kiss her. Rachel felt his hands leave hers and before she knew it a giggle escaped her throat as she felt his fingers tickling her sides.
"James get off me!" Rachel giggled and tried to shift underneath him, the action proving pointless considering he had her pinned underneath him with his legs on either side of her. After thirty seconds she felt him stop tickling her and as she tried to control her breathing, Rachel sat up on her bed brushing her hair out of her face from the wriggling around as she grinned. Next to her James was smirking at her and she shook her head as she leaned forward and kissed him.
After a couple of chaste, tender kisses; she pulled away from him and licked her lips as she smiled at him. "Did you really have to tickle me?"
"You said you'd never use that name against me" He smirked back at her, his fingers running through her hair gently as he straightened it for her. "I had to get payback and you seemed to be enjoying it"
"I was enjoying you kissing me" She replied rolling her eyes at him though the smile still sat on her face. "It was plain cruel to use our attraction like that; you know how much I love the feel of your lips on mine"
"Mhmmm" He replied, pulling her close to him and pressing a kiss against her lips. Rachel smiled as this when she opened her mouth to allow him access; he didn't tease but simply slipped his tongue into her mouth. She moaned against him and shifted closer on the bed as his fingers gently caressed her scalp as they ran through her hair.
After ten minutes of sitting in her room making out, the two of them managed to pull themselves away from each other and collect their bags for school. Rachel put on the green hooded jacket that she had claimed from him the first time visited her in Ohio, turning and smiling as she saw him pulling on his almost trademark black leather jacket. She loved the way that it fit him so smugly, and she thought it wasn't possible for him to look any more handsome with his short curly hair.
…
After a short car ride to McKinley High, the two of them singing along to her playlist of Broadway classics as their joined hands lay on the rest in between their seats; Rachel pulled her car into the senior parking lot. Shutting the engine off, Rachel turned to her boyfriend and smile widely at him. This was actually happening. James is here and he goes to McKinley now!
"You okay Rach?" His voice broke her daydream and her smile widened if that was even possible. Rachel watched as his eyebrows straightened and his face erupted into a smile to match hers at seeing her so happy.
"I'm just really, really glad you're here" She replied and James winked at her before leaning over and pressing a soft kiss against her lips.
"Me too baby" She groaned as he pulled away from her, not wanting to share him with the rest of the school just yet but couldn't the smile growing on her face as he stepped out her car and had already starting walking around to help her. Taking his hand, she climbed out of her car and stepped closer to him; looking up at him through her eyelashes.
"You ready?" She asked and giggled softly as he simply rolled his eyes at her before hoisting his bag over his shoulder.
"Come on" he chuckled leading her off towards the school building despite the fact, and it was adorable, that he had no idea where was going once he got inside. Rachel bit her lip, trying to resist the urge to laugh at him as the two of them walked through the doors of McKinley before he paused and sighed. Rachel was watching him with an amused expression as he pursed his lips together.
"Is there a problem?" She asked playfully and she saw the corners of his mouth tilt into a smirk.
"I have no idea where I'm supposed to go" He admitted and she burst out giggling at him as he stood there shaking his head with an amused look on his face.
After a few seconds of laughing at her boyfriend, she managed to control herself and stroked his cheek with her hand. "Let's go get you a locker key"
After stopping off at her locker first so that she could collect her books; they stopped off to get him a locker. Rachel was disappointed when it turned out the only available ones were on the far side of the school as opposed to hers which was located close to the choir room.
"Well this sucks. I can't believe the only available lockers are so far away from mine" She complained as she stood leaning against the locker next to his as he placed his bag in and removed a note pad. He closed his locker and look at her with a smirk.
"You didn't expect me to get one close to yours did you?" He said trying to not laugh. "Rach, it's halfway through October"
Rachel sighed, jutting her lips out in a pout as she stepped closer to him and wrapped her arms around his waist, nudging his chest with her forehead before looking up at him; "I guess I just like having you close by"
His face split into a smile and he leaned down to press his lips against hers. Rachel couldn't help but smile as gave her several soft, tender kisses. This type was probably her favourite; there wasn't anything burningly passionate about them as when they were alone in her room but instead they were affectionate touches that appreciated and loved. Sighing as they separated she bit her lip as she looked up at him through her eyelashes.
"Want to show me where my Calculus class is?" He said his hand brushing her bangs out of her face; a look of amazement in his eyes as if he couldn't believe how beautiful she looked.
"Sure" She replied pressing one more kisses against his lips before taking his hand in hers. "Which teacher do you have?"
"Mr Morrin" James said his bowed reading off his sheet of paper with his classes on. He glanced at her with a raised eyebrow; "What's he like?"
"He's strict but patient…he's a good teacher" She replied, squeezing his hand reassuringly. "You'll be okay I promise"
James nodded at her as they walked through the corridor. She could tell that he was considering what she'd said to him as he chewed his lip quietly. When they arrived at the classroom, she stood in front of him and leaned up to kiss him. Rachel smiled as she felt him relaxed against her lips and she heard him let out a sigh.
"You've got History next right?" She asked and he nodded at her, his eyes brightening up after she'd kissed him. "We share that class, I'll meet you here and we can walk together?"
"I'd love that" He replied, giving her a wink before pressing a kiss against her cheek.
Rachel watched as he turned and walked into the classroom, making his way over to the teacher's desk. Smiling, she gripped her notebook tighter to her chest and walked off to go to her own class. Settling into seat next to Kurt just before the class started, flashing him a smile and a winking at him as he playfully tapped his watched; she opened her notebook.
"Where are you going?" Kurt asked with an amused glint in his eyes after their first period ended and instead of walking with him towards their next class, Rachel turned left instead to head towards James' class.
"To get James" She replied, smiling at him. "He had Calculus and I think he's more nervous about everything than he's letting on"
"He has history with us second period?" Kurt said and when she nodded he rolled his eyes; "Great, So I have to sit next to you two?"
Rachel giggled at him, slapping his arm playfully as they walked towards where Mr Morrin's classroom was. "We're not that bad"
"Yes, you really are" He murmured and Rachel shook her head at him.
When the classroom came into view; James was stood outside leaning against the wall in the corridor, his arms hands shoved in the pockets of his leather jacket as he stood with a grin on his face as he talked to Rebecca, one of the cheerio's. Rachel watched as the girl placed a hand on his arms; her gut clenched for a moment until she saw him shift uncomfortably and backed away from the cheerleader slightly, instantly washing her worries away. Rolling her eyes as she glanced at Kurt, a smile on his lips, who winked at her reassuringly; Rachel continued walking towards her boyfriend. She almost laughed at the way James was already attracting interest from the girls at McKinley; she knew it would happen, Hey James incredibly Handsome but she knew that he would never cheat on her or do anything to make her uncomfortable.
As she approached, James eyes met hers and his face erupted into a huge grin. Waving at him, she stepped closer and wrapped an arm around his waist; biting lip as he leant down and kissed her cheek.
"Hey baby" Rachel said softly as he pulled away and winked at her.
"I missed you" He replied placing his arm around her shoulder protectively. "Uh, this is Rebecca; I sat next to her"
"Hi" Rachel said with a smile as she tried not to laugh. It was absolutely adorable how he was introducing her to someone who she already knew; admittedly not very well but Rachel was aware who this cheerleader was.
"Hey" The cheerleader said a bored look on her face, not even looking at Rachel. The girl turned to James and smiled as she spoke; "I better get going…I'll see you tomorrow in class"
"Alright, I'll see you later" James nodded and gave her a small smile.
"Making friends already?" Rachel observed with a smirk. James smiled faded.
"I know how that must have looked and I promise I wasn-" He started to explain, a look of worry on his face. Rachel giggled and leaned her head up so that she could kiss him. She couldn't help but smile as she felt his hand cup her cheek as she pulled away.
"I trust you" She replied and winked to reassure him.
"You looked adorably uncomfortable when she tried to touch you" Kurt observed with a smirk as Rachel nudged him forward so that they could head to their class together.
"I could tell she was trying to flirt with me" James said, squeezing her shoulder "She said that I was cute and offered to help show me around the school"
"I hope you told that little harlot you already had a guide" Rachel muttered defensively; smiling when both James and Kurt laughed at her. "Don't laugh at me; just because she's hot doesn't mean she has a right to all the cute guys in school"
"I told her that I had a beautiful girlfriend" James replied, pressing a tender kiss against her cheek. "Besides you know that you're the only girl I think is hot"
Rachel blushed at him, her hand gently stroking his side as they walked through the corridor. "I love you"
"Love you too babe" He replied. The three of them headed into their classroom and Rachel was leading James to where she sat with Kurt when James released her; spinning round she saw him look at her apologetically. "I have to get this signed"
Rachel nodded at him as she watched him make his way to the front of the class as she took her seat; James giving the sheet of paper to Mrs Johnson. After a few exchanges, the woman nodded at James and stood up, gesturing for James to wait.
"Alright class, we have a new student with us. This is James and he's just transferred to McKinley from Oregon" Mrs Johnson stated in her firm voice. Rachel bit her lip to stop herself from laughing at the embarrassed look on her boyfriend's face as there was a murmur of welcome around the classroom. "Alright, if you could find a seat to take"
James nodded and walked in between the desks as he made his way to the back of the class. She winked at him as he arrived at the desk and sat down next to her nudging her gently with his shoulder as he did. The class went by and Rachel was surprised that it was easier to concentrate with him sat next to her than she thought. He sat there, listening intently to their teacher; making notes and aside from the occasional glance or touch when their elbows banged each others, neither of them did anything to try and distract the other.
It was normal; it felt right to have him there. When their class ended, she walked him to his next class before heading to hers after he said that he would be waiting by her locker, the one place that he could remember how to find in that school so that they could have lunch together. Rachel had a smile on her face for the entirety of the next hour.
…..
Rachel was stood waiting at her locker a smirk sat on her face; clearly James despite his insistent had no idea how to find her locker. She might have been disappointed and a little upset that he hadn't been waiting for her when she turned the corner and arrived at her locker a few minutes earlier; but that was overwhelmed by her amusement that he wasn't as perfect as he'd led her to believe and boy was she would going to enjoy teasing him.
A couple minutes later and she saw Noah walked side by side with James as they made their way towards her locker; biting her lip to stop herself from giggling at the slight flush of his cheeks. When they arrived, Noah was smuggling smirking at her as James bent his head and pressed a kiss against her lips.
"Found your boy looking lost near the locker rooms" Puck said as she licked her lips. "Mumbled some sappy shit about having to find you"
"I thought you remembered how to get to my locker?" Rachel smiled innocently as James rolled his eyes.
"Really? You're going to give me crap like this on my first day" James replied shaking his head, but Rachel saw the slight upturn at the corner of his lips.
"Yes" She stated before giggling at James smirk.
"As much fun as watching you two flirt is, I'm fucking hungry" Noah stated dryly, a smirk on his face. Rachel glanced at him and nodded before shutting her locker door.
"Sorry Noah" She replied before taking James' hand and lacing their fingers together. As they started walking through the hallways towards the lunch room she gazed up at "How was class?"
"It was good" He said, smiling at her as their hands swung in between their bodies. "I had to stand up in front of the class and introduce myself"
"You did?" Rachel asked, smiling widely at him. She loved it when he got embarrassed, the way his cheeks would turn red in the centre before spreading out across his face as he nibbled on half of his bottom lip. "Oh my god…"
She started giggling again as they walked, James released her hand and wrapped his arm around her shoulder pulling her tightly against him. "Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up munchkin"
"I'm sorry baby" Rachel replied, pressing a kiss against his hand that was resting on her shoulder.
"It's alright" He shrugged.
"I know I wasn't in there with you; but did you enjoy French? You make any friends?" Rachel asked and with a slight amount of annoyance in her voice she added, causing Puck to snicker. "Preferably not a hot cheerleader"
"Not interested in any cheerleader" James replied, squeezing her shoulder affectionately. "I am and speak Italian so languages come easy to me. But I got chatting to this guy on the football team in class, Tom"
"I don't recognize the name" Rachel said thoughtfully, tugging her lip between her teeth gently. "But then Finn never did introduce me to many of his friends on the team"
"Stone?" Noah asked pushing the lunch room doors open as the three of them walked through the crowded entrance.
"I think that's what he said his name was" James replied with a shrug of his shoulders.
"He's alright, a bit quiet but whatever I'm hungry; see you at the table" Noah said winking at her before he stalked off towards the queue.
"I'm glad you're making friends" Rachel said smiling proudly at him. He snorted and kissed her forehead. "What?"
"You're cute. I've spoken to him once for about ten minutes; I'm not going to invite him over to watch the game on Sunday" He said chuckling gently and Rachel couldn't help but giggle.
"Okay, I just want you to settle in" Rachel beamed a mega watt smile at him, loving the way a grin covered his face. She loved his reaction to her being happy, as if it made him feel better just seeing her in a good mood. "Do you have something for lunch or do you want to share my salad?"
"Mom made me some sandwiches" He admitted sheepishly, a shy smirk on his lip as the words left his mouth.
Rachel giggled at him, covering her mouth with her hand at her sudden reaction; after composing herself, she took his hand in hers. "I love that you're such a mommy's boy"
James sighed exasperatedly, though Rachel noticed the smile that sat on his lips as she glanced up at him as they walked towards the Glee Club table. As they approached, Rachel saw that most of the group were there aside from Noah. Squeezing James hand in reassurance as they arrived, Rachel took her seat.
"Hey guys" Rachel said smiling as she motioned for James to sit next to her.
"Hey Rach" Finn replied, their eyes meeting for a moment before they turned to her boyfriend. "Sup dude"
"Yo" James said with a smirk as he put his bag on his lap and started rooting in it for his lunch. "It's cool if I sit with you guys right?"
"Yeah Dude, no problem" Finn replied, giving her boyfriend his half smile.
"You're Rachel's boyfriend and you're auditioning this afternoon right?" Mike stated from his seat next to James, patting her boyfriend on the shoulder as he nodded. "Then you're more than welcome"
James nodded, smiling. "Thanks"
"How are you liking McKinley so far? You haven't been slushied have you?" Tina asked, smiling as she held her water bottle a few inches away.
"Is that a thing that happens to the new kid?" James replied, glancing at her and raising an eyebrow.
"Sometimes" Rachel said with a shrug.
"You're hot so you'll probably escape the football team…at least until you join Glee" Santana remarked with a smile. "You can skip joining if you want to preserve your clothes…not that I wouldn't mind seeing you without a top on; must be something special to get Berry al-"
"Thank you Santana" Rachel interrupted the cheerleader speak as she felt her cheeks turn a violent shade of red. She felt a hand take hers, glancing to see James smiling at her warmly before leaning down and pressing a kiss against her cheek.
"It'll take more than getting slushied to stop me from wanting to join" He said reassuringly and Rachel couldn't help but smile proudly at him. That determination was one of the things she loved about him; he wanted something , he didn't care what anyone else thought. "And if they do slushie me, I'll probably just kick their ass"
There were a few laughs around the table and Rachel giggled gently at him as he bit into his sandwich, chewing with an amused smirk on his face. Nudging him with her shoulder, Rachel picked up her fork and started eating her salad. Throughout the next hour, Rachel happily sat there talking with James and the Glee club; enjoying how welcoming they were being of her boyfriend. They'd met him before and he'd firmly wormed his way into her social group so easily as she watched him laughing with Mike and Finn. Smiling, she glanced at Blaine and Kurt who gave her knowing looks, both of them understand that she loved seeing her boyfriend and friends getting along.
As the bell rang for the end of lunch period, Rachel spent a couple of minutes kissing James in the corridor before Noah broke them up and dragged James away. Licking her lips, enjoying his taste still on them, she waved at him as he followed Noah, blowing her a kiss before he disappeared around a corner. Sighing, knowing she wants going to see him until after school finished when she was going to walk him to Glee Club; since Noah shared his next few classes and had offered to show him around. Squeezing her pink school folder close to her chest, she turned and walked to her class biting her lip to suppress the huge grin.
….
The final bell rang signalling the end of the school day and as Rachel grabbed her notebook and walked out of the classroom, she vaguely heard their teacher announcing something about a pop quiz later in the week to the class over the noise of desks and chairs being moved about. Normally Rachel would have paid attention to the exact details, but not when she had her boyfriend waiting to audition for New Directions; she was ahead of the class in reading the course material regardless so she knew she was prepared as she smiled, practically skipping down the corridors towards James locker.
Rachel saw him as soon as she turned as the students parted out of the way, putting textbooks into his bag from inside a smile sat on his handsome face. Walking over, she leant up and pressed a kiss against his cheek; pulling back and smiling widely at him as he turned and grinned at her.
"Hey, I missed you" He said before kissing her. Rachel eyes fluttered close and her hand moved to cup his cheek holding him against her lips; enjoying the tenderness he was displaying as he gave her several soft kisses that left her lips tingling before pulling away.
"Me too" She replied, licking her lips. "How was class?"
"Good" He said smiling at her as he closed his locker. "Better now that I get to see you"
Rachel grinned at hearing his words; every time he said that he'd missed her filling her with happiness, knowing he felt exactly the same as how she felt; every moment they were apart seemed like an hour. Reaching out to take his hand, she tilted her head and gave him a chaste kiss on his lips. "I missed you too. You ready for Glee Club?"
"You bet, Lead the way" He replied, squeezing her hand.
As they made the short walk towards the choir room, he asked her about her classes and she didn't hesitate to tell him that she wished he could have been in them all; letting him know how much more relaxed her class with him that morning had seemed compared to the rest. He was telling her how he'd liked being in the same ones as Noah; pleasantly surprised by the fact that Noah seemed to be more interested in classes than James thought he would have been.
Rachel leads him into the choir room where most of the club are already sat around chatting. She gives James a wink before walking with him over to Mr Schuster who is stood looking at some sheet music laying on the piano. She feels him release her hand as Mr Schuster looks up.
"Mr Schu...this is James" She says smiling, gesturing to her boyfriend.
"James Agrisino" He offers, extending his hand to the glee club director; a warm smile on his face. Rachel watches, biting her lip, as Mr Schuster looks between them before a smile crosses his face as he shakes James' hand.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Will Schuster. I've heard a lot about you"
"Likewise, sir" James replied, winking at her.
"When Rachel told me that you were transferring and wanted to join. I remember being impressed watching you perform at Nationals, so I took the liberty of researching of some of your old performances" Mr Schuster said with his warm smile. James raised an eyebrow. "Don't worry! I was very impressed by what I've seen; Your performance of "One Song Glory" last year was outstanding"
"Thank you, sir" James replied, a sheepish smile.
"When did you sing that?" She couldn't help but ask; not familiar with his performances outside of nationals and the sectionals she had watched. Rachel couldn't help but picture James as the perfect Roger.
"Regionals last year" James replied smile before turning back to Mr Schu. "It was one of my favourite Broadway songs"
"I hope you can do more than singing showtunes" Noah's voice rings out from the seats, and Rachel gazes at him rolling her eyes as the smirk on his face; looking to tease her boyfriend.
"Is Bon Jovi good enough?" James laughs and licks his lips as he turns back to Mr Schu "May I?"
"Go ahead" He replies a smile on his face; a look in his eyes that Rachel can tell he's been looking forward to hearing James sing as they walk over and sit down. When She sits down next to Noah, he nudges her and wiggles his eyebrows that causes her to burst out laughing at him. Shaking her head, Rachel sees James finish talking with the band with a nod of his head as he walks back into the middle of the room.
James takes his jacket it off and chucks on top of the piano, a smirk on his face as he turns back around to them. Rachel bites her lip as her eyes gaze over his upper body and in particular how well that shirt looks on; God she loved it when he wore them. She catches his gaze and he winks at her before turning to the band; "Hit it"
The heavy guitar intro started to the song and Rachel can see James roll his sleeves up his arms.
Why, you wanna tell me how to live my life?
Who, are you to tell me if it's black or white?
James points at them sat on their chairs as he sings the first couple of lines. Rachel smiles and looks around seeing the glee club enjoying the song choice. Rachel looks back and sees him walks towards her left as she faces him stopping and singing in front of Brittany, Tina and Mike who are bobbing their heads along
Mama, can you hear me? Try to understand.
Is innocence the difference between a boy and a man?
My daddy lived the lie, that's just the price that he paid
Sacrificed his life, just slavin' away.
James offers the girls his hands and pulls them out of the seats, spinning them before releasing them; jumping up onto the steps and patting people on the backs to tell them get out of their seats. Rachel giggles as she watches them, shaking her shoulders in her seat.
Ohhh, if there's one thing I hang onto,
That gets me through the night.
I ain't gonna do what I don't want to,
I'm gonna live my life.
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,
Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly.
When the world gets in my face,
I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day
James pumping his fist from the middle of the steps in the choir room. He stands behind her and puts his hands on her shoulders, twisting her from side to side before sitting down in the chair next to her as he sings the second line. As he starts the fourth verse he jumps out of his seat and pulls her up with him.
Take a look around you; nothing's what it seems
We're living in the broken home of hopes and dreams,
Let me be the first to shake a helping hand.
Anybody brave enough to take a stand,
I've knocked on every door, on every dead end street,
Looking for forgiveness,
what's left to believe?
Ohhh, if there's one thing I hang onto,
That gets me through the night.
I ain't gonna do what I don't want to,
I'm gonna live my life.
Shining like a diamond, rolling with the dice,
Standing on the ledge, I show the wind how to fly.
When the world gets in my face,
I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.
James walks away from her and back up the steps, while the rest of the glee club stands around the band as the guitarists play their killer solo.
[Guitar Solo]
James jumps and slides on his knees, before Noah and Mike pull him up off the floor as he joins them in the middle of the room; taking Rachel's hands and spinning her around before pulling her against his body, Rachel happily wrapping an arm around his waist.
Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day.
When The world keeps trying, to drag me down,
I gotta raise my hands, I'm gonna stand my ground.
Well I say, Have A Nice Day.
Have A Nice Day
Have A Nice Day

"Wow!" Mr Schuster exclaims, grinning with an impressed look on his face. "That was brilliant!"
"Bro that rocked" Noah offered his hand to James for a high five as the rest of the group are stood around them; Rachel grinning as she sees the rest of the boys offering him the same.
"Welcome to New Directions, Dude" Finn says happily, patting him on the back as James looks towards her. Rachel couldn't help but throw her arms around his waist and press a kiss against his lips.
"Welcome Home" She mutters, pulling back as James cups her cheek with his hand smiling widely as they gaze into each others eyes.
