Chapter 3

Cynthia had asked Tobias about the legendary orbs. Tobias had been looking for them, but the Bittercold crisis caused him to immediately arrive at Veilstone City along with the Sinnoh Elite Four.

"Tobias, do you have the orbs?"

He responded, "I currently have the Adamant and Lustrous Orbs in my possession, and I will show you them. As for the Griseous Orb, it could not be found on that mountain. My hypothesis is that the Griseous Orb resides in the Distortion World alongside Giratina, or perhaps in Turnback Cave. As you probably know, ancient legends and myths surrounded the Turnback Cave, thinking it was a gateway to another world. That is indeed the world of Giratina, the Distortion World. Getting there will be an even greater challenge, although it is nothing I cannot handle."

Cynthia pondered for a few seconds, then asked.

"I think we should make preparations for catching Dialga and Palkia at the Spear Pillar. I have done much investigation on my own, and the masters of time and space will not go down easily. I have contacted Professor Rowan, who is currently acquiring more research materials and instruments to measure the powers and biology of these Legendaries. For now, please report back to the Sinnoh League."

They reported back to the Sinnoh League to regroup and make their preparations clear for catching Dialga and Palkia. As promised, Tobias showed Cynthia the Adamant and Lustrous orbs. These orbs radiated a special power that instantly impressed her. She remembers her studies of Sinnoh and its myths and legends. The stories of early peoples held important cultural value, and they had fascinated her since she was a child.

Cynthia spoke,

"Remember, we are doing this not simply to catch all the Legendaries, but for biological and cultural analysis as well. Corroboration of ancient myths and records would surely prove useful for historical purposes. I was also thinking of making a group of Trainers who would protect the various Legendaries and Mythicals from various miscreants. It seems like every criminal organization these days seems centered around Legendaries and Mythicals for some nefarious scheme, from the Godslayers to Team Galactic and almost everyone else in between."

"Thank you, Cynthia. I like that idea; in fact, I was thinking of something similar myself. I did contact Noland, who currently has and protects one of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. We both know about Brandon in the Battle Frontier, who has used and watched over the legendary golems, or 'Regis' The Battle Chatelaines in Kalos also utilize the genies, which are in good hands with them."

Cynthia decided to intercede,

"Come to think about it, I also thought of other potential candidates. Zinnia, the last Lorekeeper—I think she would be useful here. Her knowledge of the ancient Draconids from Hoenn and the Hoenn Weather Trio would provide a great cultural boon. The Kahuna system in Alola does a good job at protecting the Legendaries of Alola, so those are safe. I should send a letter to Drayden in Unova because he could help protect the various Unova Legendaries. He does have some connection to Reshiram and Zekrom due to the Light and Dark stones."

"Very well. We should contact all these people, and perhaps form a research and protection agency concerning these Legendaries. As for Dialga and Palkia, I think we should conduct a training session to see if our teams are strong enough to face them."

Tobias starts flashing back to memories about Dialga and Palkia…? However, he has never met Dialga and Palkia in person, only looked at paintings and pictures of them, or perhaps a statue made by early peoples of Sinnoh.

About half an hour later…

Cynthia started updating her plan to catch Dialga and Palkia for further study, which would prove fantastic for scientific and historical purposes. The trip would not stop with just Dialga and Palkia. She hoped that with both of these creation legends, she could find the third one, Giratina, and with all three, the location of the mythical Arceus could be found. The help of the living legend

Cynthia called the Unova Elite Four Caitlin via telephone.

"Hello, Caitlin. How are you doing?"

"Cynthia, I am doing well, thank you."

Cynthia took that into consideration. "I should ask you something."

Caitlin answered, "Yes"?

Cynthia claimed, "I am wondering if some kind of organization exists in Unova to protect the legendaries and mythicals there? I want to make sure the legendaries do not fall into the wrong hands. Tobias and I have been doing this in Sinnoh. Brandon and Noland protect the Hoenn ones, for example."

Caitlin responded, "Currently there isn't one, but I would be willing to help. I could also ask Marshall and Drayden. They would be very willing to learn more about these legendaries and mythicals. I should contact the Unova branch of the Ranger organization too."

Cynthia, glad to see Caitlin helping her with that task, bade her goodbye.

Meanwhile…

Tobias contacted Zinnia, the last Lorekeeper of the Draconids in existence, via their phones.

"Hello, Zinnia. I am Tobias, master of legendaries and mythicals, and winner of many tournaments. I met you before when I was obtaining Rayquaza."

Zinnia spoke, but in a rather unsatisfied tone. "Hello, Tobias. What do you want?" She did not want to be disturbed normally.

Tobias thought about his… sales pitch. "I am sorry if this is a bad time. I am putting together a team of some of the best trainers to protect the Legndaries and Mythicals. I wonder if you would join it. Your knowledge of the Draconids and ancient Hoenn would be enormously beneficial for our efforts."

Zinnia questioned, "What is in it for me?"

Tobias answered, "The chance for a far greater audience. The lore of the Draconids would never die if I could record everything you knew and publish it in encyclopedias."

"Hmm. I will consider this offer. Rayquaza seemed to think you were worthy, after all."
