Konoha Hokage Tower
"Mission success Hokage-Sama."
"Your involvement?"
"Minimal, Hokage-Sama."
"Excellent, from the reports I see Naruto and Sasuke-kun have quite an effective combination attack." Sarutobi stated raising an eyebrow.
"Jiji you should have seen it! Me and Sasuke blew up the whole camp in one move, it was awesome 'ttebayo!"
"Sasuke and I, Naruto-kun. You'll have to show me this combination, I'm sure it will make a great addition to our jutsu library. Now you and Sasuke scramble I have to have a word with your sensei and dear Sakura here."
"Later Jiji!"
"Goodbye, Hnkage-Sama."
Sakura and Kakashi were left alone in the Hokage office. Sakura felt all of the eyes in the room on her and trepidatiously asked "Am I in trouble Hokage-sama?"
"Nothing of the sort Sakura-chan. Your sensei informed me you had a bit of a scare."
"Hai, it wont happen again Hokage-sama. I came to a lot of realisations in that mission, and I've made it my focus to get far stronger."
"Excellent news Sakura-Chan. May I suggest going to the library and supplementing your elemental training with books on the deeper understanding of your nature, also those partaining life around you, it may help you in your path to getting stronger."
"Uhhhh, okay Hokage-sama."
"Hokage-sama you dont think...?"
"Hai Kakashi-kun point her in the right direction wont you?"
After a long pause Kakashi blinked and smiled "Of course Hokage-Sama what kind of a teacher would I be if I didn't help my useless brats."
"Dismissed, you get a week off to recuperate and get stronger. My sources tell me there is a mission coming in that will entice you."
Kakashi led a confused Sakura out of the office. "Now Sakura-chan, how about I show you which books you want to read. Im sure they'll be of help to you!"
The next day Training Ground 7
"Yo Sensei, what's our next mission!?"
"Calm Naruto, we're spending a week off. Hokage-Sama's orders. So to make up for no missions we're going to ramp up our training!" Kakashi said with a smile.
"Uhhh... that's possible?"
"Of course Sasuke-chan. I've been taking it easy on you guys so far."
"Oh God no."
"Sensei? Where is Sakura?"
"Did you say something genin? Because I swear I heard something other than the sound of you running."
"Huh?" Naruto and Sasuke both asked stupidly.
A chirping noise pierced the air. "Run."
And so they did, thank god this assassination jutsu made so much noise.
Konoha Library
"Sensei why are you giving me these books? Surely it's better to learn by practise?"
"Trust me Sakura, this is not something you want to get wrong."
Kakashi handed the necessary books to sakura and watched with no small amount of satisfaction as pure unadulterated shock ran through her system.
"Sensei you don't think I can possibly make use of this? Right!!?"
"I think it goes without saying that any practise of this nature is done strictly under my supervision. As well as not telling anyone, including your teammates until you've figured it out."
"Of course Sensei, but do you really think I can do it."
"I am not so cruel as to give you false hope. As I've said before, there are very good reasons that you were put on this team. Now come on, those books won't read themselves."
A week later Hokage Tower
"So Team 7 how was your week off?"
"Electrifying, Hokage-Sama." Kakashi chuckled. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up when he felt killing intent from behind him. 'who dares?' He turned around to see his two wannabe ninja staring at him.
Naruto and Sasuke glared at their jounin instructor. This man had put them through absolute hell for another week and called it time off. They were sick of it!
'I guess some lessons need to be repeated to stick' Kakashi breathed in, it was only when he saw the slight uncertainty in his students eyes that he knew they realised something was amiss. Kakashi breathed out, and there was something very wrong with that action. It was a simple motion, done in short fashion, however when Kakashi released the breath he was holding in the world shifted.
The air in the space between teacher and student curled into itself and molded into pure raw Death.
'I have erred'
The weight of his intent slammed down upon his two foolish students who dared raise their hackles against someone so far superior to them.
"Do I have to keep teaching you this lesson? Soon it will become a physical lesson, until it becomes ingrained into your body not to try and challenge me. Unless of course, you're actually able to hold your own against me. Capische? Excellent."
Kakashi turned around to a chuckling Sarutobi and terrified Sakura.
'I hate when he does that'
'Good ole hazing'
"So Hokage-Sama, you mentioned you have a mission for us?"
"Of course Kakashi-kun, the most anticipated and infamous mission we've ever given out. The Wave mission! where we truly get to see the growth of team 7 and debate on Kiri missing-nin identities!"
"uhhhhhh... Sorry Hokage-Sama? What do you-"
"S-RANK, DO NOT QUESTION" Sasuke whisper shouted
"Right, right sorry sasuke-kun I forgot."
"Moving on, you will be escorting the bridge builder Tazuna from Konoha to Wave, your mission is to escort and protect your client until he has finished building his bridge. Kakashi, be wary of stray cats, we wouldn't want any permanent harm coming to your team right?"
"Hai Hokage-sama."
"Stray cats?"
"DON'T!"
"ah."
"Intel reports that the shipping magnate Gato is operating in that area. If he gets in the way, elimate him. That will be all, go and make Konoha proud! Dismissed."
Team 7 walked out of the office and outside.
"Alright you have 2 hours to pack for a mission that may potentially last a month, choose wisely. Remember this is what we've trained for. See you at the east gate."
2 Hours later, East Gate
Naruto Sakura and Sasuke had all arrived 15 minutes early to the gate and were waiting on their sensei to show up with their client. All 3 lock on to the sight of an aging man stumbling fown the road with what seems to be a bottle of Sake in his hand.
"I ask for protection and they send me three little kids? Some village this is!"
"Hey old man, you wanna die?" Naruto said ominously
"Uh.. no kid why do you ask?"
"Dont diss the village in front of our sensei, idyut."
Tazuna felt his blood run cold. He saw a shadow looming over him. He turned around and saw what can only be described as a strangely dressed man.
Gravity defying silver hair. A headband over his eye and a mask covering the rest of his face, a green flak jacket stock full of scrolls and 3 hip pouches filled to the brim with weapons. He looked strange and Tazuna would have passed him off as a regular jounin if it wasn't for that weird eye smile he did.
"Hi."
"Hello."
...
...
"Alright kiddies lets go!"
Three "Hai's" were given off in response.
Tazuna stood there watching Team 7 depart.
"EH????"
"So... are you coming with us or you staying here?"
"WHO IS THAT GUY?!"
"He's our sensei, now c'mon we're burning daylight."
Outside of Konoha
Team 7 had been going at Tazuna's pace for close to 5 hours now and they were getting a bit antsy.
"Oi old man, is this the fastest you can go?"
"Urusai Gaki, I'm too old to deal with your shit!" Tazuna stuck his tongue out at naruto
'I'm gonna kill this old man'
"Dont harm the client Naruto, its bad for the mission record."
"Isn't it also bad for me if you harm me?!"
"Yeah but that's not important."
'These shinobi are crazy' Tazuna thought 'I cant wait 'till I'm back home!'
The Next Day
"Alright if we keep this pace up we can make it to wave by early tomorrow!"
Team 7 continued walking down the path towards wave. It was bright and sunny, seemingly nothing up ahead but open road and on the side of the road there was a puddle...
A puddle????
Team 7 looked at Kakashi and he looked at them. They all looked at the puddle.
"Been pretty warm recently huh?"
"Yeah nothing but sun for the past week."
"Ah."
"Yes."
"How curious."
"Anyway let's keep going."
And so they walked past the puddle.
"HAHA SURPRISE ATTACK!"
The two missing-nin hiding in the puddle wrapped their chains around Kakashi and squeezed.
"One down!... huh?"
"Nice chain, let me borrow it for a minute"
Kakashi grabbed the chain both sides of him and pulled. The two Missing nin got pulled off their feet and ended up colliding with each other.
"Now you two sit there and wait for my team to fight you like good little cannon fodder you are!"
Kakashi walked over to Team 7 and the client. "So who wants to beat them?"
"OI we're dangerous missing nin ya know! We're wanted in Kiri for crimes!"
"Kaka-sensei i dont recognise these guys from the bingo book you gave me??"
"Naruto that's for Shinobi that are A-rank and above. The only real threat to you should I be missing."
"Oh."
"Yeah we're B-rank criminals from Kiri!!"

"Did he say B-rank?"
"Chuunin"
Team 7 broke into peals of laughter. "Alright we'll play jan ken pon to decide who fights them."

"Damnit, Sasuke wins."
Sakura and Naruto took seats beside Kakashi. Kakashi handed them each theirr own bag of popcorn.
"Go Sasuke! woohoo show those Kiri chumps how its done!"
"Hn." He smiled cockily.
"You're gonna regret this kid!"
Sasuke said nothing as he rushed at them. He took the one on the right first throwing a few kunai at him before launching a fireball at his brother. The chain connecting them would be their downfall.
Both twins tried to dodge out of the way but ended up halting each other and getting a kunai and singed for their trouble.
Sasuke pressed on and the two shinobi tried to engage him in a taijutsu battle. Sasuke braced himself to fight two opponents at once.
They were so slow.
Training with Kakashi had given Sasuke a warped reality of the world and how strong people are. He had been training at a much higher level for almost 2 and a half months now. This was a cakewalk for him.
Sasuke slipped under the first punch and countered with a kunai into the skull.
"Brother! No!"
Meizu watched his brother fall in a horrid silence. He turned to kill this nobody genin who dared harm his brother but by the time he turned it was too late. He was staring down in the gaping maw of a dragon. The last thing he felt was heat and pain before he burnt to a crisp.
"So, how'd I do?"
two 7's and a 5 came up.
"Why 5 Sensei?"
"No flair Sasuke-kun, a boring kill all things considered."
"I guess, but I killed two chuunin!"
"The only reason it was 5 is because there were two of them. Now c'mon lets go, the local wildife can have at them. Their bounties aren't worth going to the station for."
Team 7 got up and continued walking as if nothing had happened.
'These Ninja are too crazy. I need another bottle of sake to cope!'
So thats chapter 6 done. Yeah it's short but I do not fucking care. Be happy I found motivation to even write this.
In other news. The Wave arc has started! Depending on my mood this will be either 2 or 3 chapters long, more than likely it will be 3. Ive set in motion multiple events that I hope will make a lot of you big mad.
