Anakin walked through the temple halls. After arriving back on Coruscant and bidding farewell to Padme he was met by Master Yoda. The old master told Anakin to follow him. He wasn't sure where Yoda was taking him, but it was probably the council chamber. The problem was this wasn't the way to the council chamber.

Master Yoda stopped. Before them was a large door. The rest of the Council was there. He had no idea where they were. He had never been in this part of the temple before.

"Here you must enter," Master Yoda said.

Anakin shrugged and went in. The room seemed empty. He looked around. No one else was in here. What was he doing in here?

He heard a roar and froze. He knew what that roar was. He looked back and saw a krayt dragon. What was a krayt dragon doing here?! It reared up and slammed down with its claws. Anakin dodged and took out his lightsaber.

It reared up again, but when it came down Anakin was ready. He slashed at its right front claw, but it didn't seem to do any damage. Anakin frowned. He slashed again and still nothing. The dragon whipped its tail. Anakin jumped over the tail and gave a shove with the Force. The dragon didn't budge.

Anakin was starting to get frustrated. Why weren't any of his attacks working? It was as if his attacks were going right through it. Almost as if it wasn't even real. A light went off in his head.

The dragon swiped with its claw. Anakin swung his saber at the claw. Just as he thought his blade went right through. He jumped up and brought his fist down on the creature's head. He went right through it and into the floor. The krayt dragon wasn't real. He stood still. The dragon opened its mouth and charged at Anakin. As expected it went right through him.

The dragon vanished, and in walked the Jedi Council.

"Congratulations," Master Windu said. "You have passed the Trials of Courage and Insight."

Anakin blinked. That was part of his trials? He wasn't expecting to have to do them right when he returned.

"Since you have lost your master the council has decided that you have also passed the Trial of the Flesh," Master Windu said.

What did Master Windu mean "lost his master"? Obi-wan was captured, sure but he was still alive.

"Next will be your Trial of Skill. Master Plo-Koon will be the one to test you."

Jedi Master Plo Koon activated his blade. Anakin did the same. Anakin went in with an overhead swing. Master Plo-Koon blocked, then swung his blade around towards Anakin's head. Anakin blocked. He spun with his blade raised high, then struck low. Master Plo expected this. He parried, sending Anakin off balance. He recovered right as Master Plo brought his blade towards his stomach.

Anakin jumped back then up and brought his blade down at Pol Koon's shoulder. Master Plo-Koon side stepped, catching Anakin off guard. Anakin went into a roll to avoid a counterattack. He went into a crouch and jumped again. When Master Plo-Koon side stepped this time Anakin swung his blade to his left and scored a light mark on Master Plo-Koon's head.

"Solah!" Master Plo-Koon shouted.

"Congratulations young Skywalker," Master Windu said. "You have passed the Trial of Skill."

Anakin smiled. In real combat his mark wouldn't have done much damage, but who cares? One more down.

"The last one will be the Trial of Spirit. Master Plo-Koon will, again, help with this trial."

Master Plo-Koon sat down. Anakin did the same. Anakin closed his eyes and began to meditate. He could feel Master Plo-Koon slowly nudge him to where he locked away his deepest fears and regrets. He saw his mother die in his arms, himself as he slaughtered the Sand People, Obi-wan being taken away by Dooku.

"I will not cry," Anakin thought to himself. "I must pass this trial if I want to become stronger. I will pass. I will get stronger. I will save Obi-wan! He will not die like my mother did!"

Master Plo-Koon began to retreat from Anakin's mind. Anakin opened his eyes and looked to the council.

Master Yoda nodded, "Passed the final trial you have. Kneel."

Anakin did so. The room dimed. The Council members made a circle around him. They lit up their lightsabers.

Master Yoda stepped forward, "By the right of the Council, by the will of the Force, I dub thee Knight of the Republic." In one swift stroke Yoda cut off Anakin's Padawan braid. He had done it! He was finally a Jedi Knight! If only Obi-wan was here.

Anakin rose and bowed, "Thank you Masters."

The Council left and Anakin headed to his room. Master Plo-Koon stopped him.

"Skywalker, a word," Master Plo-Koon said. "I have some time, would you like me to help you move to your new apartment?"

"Uh...sure," Anakin shrugged.

"I must say I was quite surprised by your tactics in our duel. You quickly caught on to my patterns and exploited them."

"Thank you Master Plo-Koon," Anakin bowed.

"I would like it if we could spar once in a while," The Kel Dor said.

Anakin smiled. A Council member wanted to spar with him?

"I would like that," Anakin replied.

"Master Plo!" A voice shouted.

Anakin moved just before a red skinned youngling ran into him.

"Watch where you're going!" Anakin snapped.

"Opps! Sorry," The girl said

"Young Tano, while it is good to see you, you must be aware of your surroundings at all times," Master Plo-Koon said. He turned to Anakin. "This is Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka, this is Knight Anakin Skywalker."

"Hi Skyguy!" Ahsoka said.

"Hi." Anakin said.

"Master Plo-Koon was the one who found me and brought me to the temple," Ahsoka explained.

"Do you have a Master?" Anakin asked.

Ahsoka shook her head, "Not yet, but I hope I get one soon."

"Hmm… Perhaps young Skywalker could train you." Master Plo-Koon suggested.

"What?!" Anakin exclaimed. "I just became a Knight. I'm not ready for an apprentice yet."

"And you don't think your Master was ready when he took you?" Master Plo-Koon asked.

"Well...he didn't have a choice. He only trained me because he promised Qui-Gon." Anakin said.

The Kel Dor had to think for a moment. "You are correct… That said, we have just entered a war. We need as many Jedi out there as possible."

"She's too young." Anakin said.

"I'm thirteen!" Ahsoka yelled. "I heard you were nine when you became a Padawan."

"But it wasn't till I was fourteen that I went on my first mission." Anakin countered.

"Well I'll be fourteen in a few months," Ahsoka crossed her arms.

"You're a snippy one aren't you?" Anakin teased.

"Says you," Ahsoka teased back.

Anakin laughed. He was finding Ahsoka to be rather interesting. Having an apprentice could help him rescue Obi-wan. Maybe the Force made this happen, like how it brought Qui-Gon to Tatooine.

"Tell you what, when you turn fourteen I will be your Master." Anakin said.

Ahsoka's eyes lit up, "Really?!"

"You're going to need to work really hard from now on," Anakin warned her. "If you don't I might change my mind."

"The Council will also have to approve of this," Master Plo-Koon said, "but I am sure they will. This meeting seems to have been destined by the Force."

"Now since you're here, help me with moving alright Snips." Anakin said.

Ahsoka nodded. Plo-Koon chuckled.

"Knight Skywalker," Master Plo-Koon began, "if you ever need anything please come to me. I know I am not your Master, but seeing that you may train Ahsoka one day, I almost feel a sort of bond with you."

Anakin bowed, "Thank you Master Plo-Koon. I feel the same. Obi-wan would want this, and I'm sure Qui-Gon would as well."

With three people Anakin was moved in by sundown. Later that night he snuck away to go see Padme.

"Padme," Anakin hugged his wife. "I did it! I passed! I'm officially a Jedi Knight!"

"That's great! I'm so happy for you!" Padme said. She kissed him. "Obi-wan would have been so proud. No," She shook her head. "He will be so proud."

"I wish he was here." Anakin said.

"So do I Ani." Padme said. She led Anakin into her bedroom and shut the door.

A/N: If things are a bit odd, I just got a new laptop, so I'm still getting used to it. I will finish this story, but I am going through some minor health issues. As such updates could take a while.
