A/N- Hey everyone, thank you for clicking on the new story. I am currently writing another MHA story, but I had this idea while writing, so I figured screw it, why not put this one out to see the response.

I want to hear reader opinions on it to see if this idea can take off and know if I should invest a lot of time into this story.

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the read.

Quirks, they're a magnificent genetic mystery in the human body.

Ever since quirks first appeared a few centuries ago, they have greatly changed the way life and society operated. Quirks were so magnificent they shone like a bright light, but everywhere there is light, there are shadows to be found as well.

Like the discrimination of heteromorphic quirk users who just have different appearances. Some quirks are seen as inherently evil, which makes everyone else look at the user as being born evil. Even though, deep down, none of those people are inherently bad, their situation and circumstances make them bitter and hateful, which leads them to be evil.

The ever-present idea of evil people is how the heroes came to be; they fight to stop those who seek to harm others. And they try their hardest to encourage everyone to accept one another, even though there are some bad apples in the hero business that give the group as a whole a bad name.

But there is a different, smaller concept that is held by a minority of people that is often overlooked. And that is the concept of outright hating their quirks and who they are.

Izuku Midoriya, four years old, it was a nice day and he was running around the public park enjoying playing a game with his best friend, Bakugo, as they chased another boy who said he would be the villain in their game of heroes and villains.

"Stop right there, stupid villain!" Bakugo roared as he gave chase.

Izuku was following Bakugo, who recently got his explosion quirk. He used it to go after the villain in the game. Meanwhile, Izuku had yet to manifest his quirk, but he had an appointment with the quirk doctor tomorrow to find out what it was going to be.

Everyone continued to chase after the other boy, and soon they caught up with him. Bakugo used his quirk to accelerate himself, which let him tackle the boy and hold him to the floor. Laughs of victory came to Bakugo as he declared his victory with an explosion.

Izuku and everyone ran over to the caught villain boy, who was laying on the floor pressed under Bakugo, who pinned him with his quirk. Izuku went over and congratulated Bakugo on his successful chase.

"Don't move, villain, or you'll regret it!"

"Yeah, you tell him Kacchan, when you grow up you'll be the best hero ever!"

"Heck yeah I will, Zuku, and once you get your quirk, we'll be the best heroes to ever live!"

Izuku and Bakugo were basically best friends since birth. After all, their mothers were friends, so it made sense for them to be too. They did everything together; went to school together; did homework together; and occasionally fought each other because they wanted to figure out who was stronger since Bakugo recognized Izuku as a rival.

"Boys, lunch is ready, so come over and get some food!"

Inko yelled at the boys, they all eagerly began to run over to eat, and Mitsuki had a drink in her hand, sighing at how boisterous the two childhood friends were.

"Damn, I didn't think Katsuki's quirk would be as explosive as his personality. Sorry, if his aggressiveness is rubbing off on Izuku Inko."

"There's no need to apologize Mitsuki. I'm sure Izuku's good nature will rub off on Katsuki."

"I sure fucking hope so. I don't want to put out fires all the time."

"Mitsuki, don't swear in front of the boys! If you do, there's no doubt in my mind that Katsuki will pick it up."

As Izuku and Bakugo ran, they were fighting to see who would get there first. They were shoving and pushing each other in an attempt to knock each other over. But no one fell, and Bakugo used his quirk to accelerate himself.

"Hey, no fair Kacchan! I don't have my quirk yet." Bakugo gloated with a grin.

"Can it Zuku! I win! Hey Auntie Inko, can I get my plate first?"

"Now, now, Katsuki, you need to wait for everyone."

Bakugo just scoffed as Izuku came in second and everyone else followed. That afternoon would be filled with laughs as the boys talked and even fought again with smiles. Inko wished her son would stay this happy forever, so she reminded herself to try and let Izuku have the best life possible.

.

.

.

The next day came, and the Midoriyas were not wasting a second. Izuku and Inko were anxiously waiting in a doctor's office. Izuku had just done his quirk test, so now he was waiting for the quirk results to come back. Izuku was also talking his mom's ear off, speculating what kind of quirk he would get.

Inko just smiled at her son as he talked and talked, hoping that he would get a quirk that would make him happy.

"I hope it's a fire quirk like dad's! But a telekinetic quirk like yours would be so cool, mom. I wonder if they combined! What if mine mutated!"

As Izuku talked, but he didn't see the door open with the doctor holding his test results. He sat down in the chair as Inko calmed Izuku down by patting his head, and then he finally noticed the doctor.

"Well, you're excited about today, aren't you, kid?" The doctor said with a grin as he looked at Izuku.

"Of course I am! I get to find out what my quirk is today!"

"Don't worry, kid, I have your test results right here." He opened the folder and began to go over what they found. "Okay, Ms. Midoriya, you'll be glad to hear Izuku has a quirk, and an extremely powerful one based on his quirk factor."

The boy started to vibrate in excitement as he listened to the good things, but then the doctor sighed and went further into detail.

"But there is something weird." Both Inko and Izuku looked on curiously. "He has a powerful quirk, but we have no idea what it is or what it does other than it consumes the oxygen content in his body."

"Is that a bad thing, doctor?"

"No ma'am, it just means we'll have to wait for it to show itself before we can gather more data. We know it is there, but we have no idea what it is, so we are forced to wait for his quirk to activate, so when his quirk does manifest, please bring him back so we can see if he needs anything to help him. That's all the information I have for you."

Izuku was greatly relieved at the doctor's words. He had no idea what his quirk was, but that was exciting since it meant he would get to be the first one to experience it. Inko thanked the doctor and then left the office after filling out some paperwork.

On the car ride back home, Izuku was anxiously trying to activate something within him. He couldn't wait to see what his quirk was, but Inko had to put a stop to it before it got out of hand.

"Now Izuku don't practice in the car, we have to wait for it to show itself."

Izuku complied and had a bright smile on his face as he tried to calm down. Once at his house, he wanted to watch hero videos. So Inko gladly put on his favorite video of All Might saving people. After a while of watching All Might videos, Izuku began to feel tired.

Izuku found this exhaustion accompanying his excitement unusual since he usually has more energy than this. But Izuku was tired and, strangely, he felt warm all over, but he chalked it up to his body heat. As Izuku went to sleep, he would dream of the best hero ever. Unfortunately, the dream was accompanied by a lot of emotion.

Inko saw how tired her son was and, with a smile, put him to bed. Feeling tired herself, she went and took a nap right after calling Mitsuki and talking about their doctor's visit and other random topics. Nothing could ruin this day for her after seeing her son so happy.

.

.

But tragedy would befall the Midoriya residence that night.

.

.

It was midnight, plus it was pitch-black since the moon wasn't out. Izuku was sleeping soundly in his bed, but then he would smell something.

Groggily opening his eyes and rubbing the sleep out of them, Izuku would be hit with that smell again. Opening his eyes fully, he would freeze like a deer in headlights.

Before him was a room, his room, completely engulfed in pitch-black flames. Fear and terror shot through Izuku's entire body. Izuku threw his burning covers off of him and ran out of his room in a panic.

Time seemed to slow down as the sight before him sent more fear through his body. He watched the entire house be engulfed in black flames and burn away.

"MOM! MOM, WHERE ARE YOU! I'M SCARED!" Izuku shouted with panic and worry as he desperately tried to find his mom.

But he couldn't get far with the fire being all over the house. Soon, Izuku began to cry, but as he brought his hands up to his face, the heat around him began to get so intense that it forced him to his knees. Izuku was filled with more fear as he watched his arms being engulfed in the black flames.

"AAAAAAAAAGGGHHHH!" Izuku desperately waved his hands to get the fire off, but it wouldn't move and it only burned harder.

Screaming in absolute terror and panic, Izuku frantically began to look for his mom with desperate tears falling from his eyes. He ran to her room and opened the burning door. Izuku saw his mom in her bed, afraid of the flames, with eyes full of panic and fear.

Inko looked over and saw Izuku with his arms on fire, and she was terrified as she got the covers off her to put her son out, but then the house began to collapse.

The roof caved in and landed on her, trapping her. Izuku ran forward to try and save Inko with his arms still on fire. But strangely, Izuku never felt pain from the flames on his arms as the fires around him burned even more intensely.

"MOM, MOM!" Izuku tried to lift the debris off of his mom, but they wouldn't budge. His inability to help Inko only made the flames on his arms more violent.

"Izuku, stop! You need to get out of here! GO!"

"NO MOM, I CAN'T!"

"Izuku." Izuku looked up with desperate tears in his eyes and leveled with his mom's eyes to see that his mom had tears in her eyes as well. "Izuku, go. I love you, so go."

It was then the roof collapsed more, crushing and trapping Inko inside.

"NOOOO!"

Izuku noticed his arms and then thought about a quirk. He pointed his arms forward and flames erupted from them. Soon his entire body was engulfed in black fire and he was terrified of the flames, so eternally scared and panicked. As flames came from Izuku's arms, there was enough force to launch him out of the room and through a window.

The last thing Izuku saw was the ceiling fully collapsing on his mom. Landing in the street, Izuku rolled and was still on fire, and he looked up to see his burning home, and tears started to well up, making the flames on his body grow taller and burn more intensely.

As Izuku cried, the fire department arrived because neighbors had reported the fire. They would have gotten there sooner, but with the flames being black, it took a while for anyone to notice.

When the firefighters arrived, their eyes went wide to see a home burning down and a young boy crying while on fire in the middle of the street. They moved quickly, got water, and quickly splashed it on Izuku.

But the fire didn't go out, and Izuku was crying louder with his hands covering his eyes as the flames around his body grew more intense. As smoke rose into the night sky, the firefighters grabbed their hoses and began attempting to put out the fire on the boy and the house, accompanied by Izuku's terror and pain-filled cries.

Shota Aizawa, aka the hero Eraserhead, was having a slow night, which he didn't like because usually it meant that something bad would happen. He was sitting on a building drinking some much-needed coffee while watching the street to see if there was any trouble.

But Aizawa's nose caught the faint whiff of smoke, which was unusual for the city. However, Aizawa chose to ignore it since it seemed far off, but then he smelt it again and it was stronger, but he saw nothing. He thought there was more to this, so he set down his coffee and began to follow the smell of smoke as fast as he could.

Jumping down to the street, Aizawa began sprinting to catch up. As soon as he turned a corner, he saw an apartment complex engulfed in black flames. Rushing over as fast as possible, Aizawa saw there were two teams of firefighters, one tending to the building to keep the fire from spreading further, and the other tending to a screaming boy on fire. Feeling worried for the boy, he sprinted over to see if he could help.

However, as Aizawa rushed over to aid, he noticed the boy wasn't being put out despite the firefighters using water, extinguishers, repellants, blankets, and everything else they had at their disposal. Aizawa had a feeling it was a quirk, so he used his eraser quirk and the crying boy magically stopped being engulfed in flames.

The firefighters were stunned, but then they noticed Aizawa running over to the green-haired, crying boy. Aizawa saw no one come over to the boy, which made him think about where his parents were.

"It's okay, kid, now where are your parents?"

Izuku just cried and couldn't think straight. He continued to cry till he felt a hand on his shoulder. He opened his eyes to see the flames were gone and a strange man was looking at him with concerned eyes.

"You're going to be just fine. Now where are your parents?" Aizawa asked again after Izuku calmed down again, but then he saw tears starting to come out again, and the boy weakly raised his hand, which was shaking, and pointed at the building.

Aizawa's eyes shot open, realizing what the child was telling him, and without hesitation, he sprinted to the building as the child watched in awe. Climbing up the fire escape to climb up, Aizawa quickly made it to the apartment. Using his scarf as a mask, Aizawa busted the door down despite the firefighters telling him to stop.

Running in, he saw everything was engulfed in the black flame, which made it harder to navigate around. But eventually, after searching and holding his breath again and again in the dry and hot air, Aizawa came across a pile of rubble.

He went over to the rubble and removed pieces as quickly as he could. Once Aizawa got some off, he saw a woman's arm, but there was no life in it. He dug her out faster than before, but he was defeated once he got her upper body out.

She was dead.

Looking over the corpse, Aizawa saw her with a ring on her finger, so he took it off and she was clutching something to her chest. Grabbing it, he saw it was a partially burned photo of her and her son, smiling happily. Looking down, sad, Aizawa grabbed the photo and regretted deeply that he couldn't save her and was forced to leave her as the walls collapsed in on themselves.

Barely making it out while coughing heavily, Aizawa was grabbed by a firefighter and brought over to an EMT. The police had finally responded and began to make a barrier for the people who looked on curiously with shock and terror on their faces as they watched an apartment become engulfed with black flames.

Looking around as he sat in an ambulance, Aizawa saw the boy with green hair that now had black highlights in it. Getting up in protest to the EMT's request, Aizawa went over to the boy who was curled up into a ball and crying while having a blanket covering him for some comfort.

Not saying anything, Aizawa sat down next to the boy who didn't look up, and then he simply wrapped his arm around the boy. He never expected the boy to look at him covered in smoke and latch onto him and cry into his shirt. Aizawa didn't stop him and squeezed the kid more to hopefully comfort him.

Without a word spoken, Aizawa reached his hand out with the partially burnt photo and ring. Izuku looked at his hand and grabbed them slowly, then he began to cry more, so Aizawa just silently held the boy.

Soon, though, Aizawa heard shouts from one person in the crowd and looked over to see a rather tall ash-blonde woman with spiky hair yelling at the cops.

"What the fuck do you mean I can't get through! I fucking know who lives in that house! LET ME THROUGH NOW!"

The police were visibly shaken by the intimidating woman, and Aizawa wondered who she was, but then he heard a soft "Auntie?" from the boy as he looked at the woman.

Then Mitsuki locked eyes with Izuku and broke through the police barrier by force and rushed over to Izuku with tears in her eyes. Once she reached Izuku, she kneeled and hugged him tightly. The police were coming to apprehend her, but Aizawa gave a glare at them and they backed away.

"Oh, Izuku baby! I'm so glad you're safe! Where's Inko?" At the mention of his mom, Izuku started to cry again, and Mitsuki's face had shock written all over it. Once she saw the ring and burnt picture in his hands, she understood what happened, and she brought the boy in for a deep, compassionate hug.

Aizawa just watched the scene and sighed, knowing this was going to suck for both him and the boy.

.

After the fire was put out, the firefighters began looking through the remains to find something. But they couldn't salvage anything. They had never seen a fire like this that burned so intensely and hot that it destroyed everything, but they did find the burnt corpse of Inko Midoriya, and they handed it off to the EMTs who took it away.

Izuku and Aizawa were taken away to the police station by a few cops so they could get some statements. Mitsuki told the pro hero she'd be along later and asked that he look after Izuku until she arrived, to which he agreed.

Once at the precinct, Izuku and Aizawa were taken to one of the rooms, where Izuku was a sad, shocked mess of a child. He hasn't spoken and he looked dehydrated from all the crying, so Aizawa got him some water. They sat in silence, with Aizawa trying to comfort the child. It was quiet until Izuku asked him a question with raw eyes.

"Who are you, mister?" Aizawa looked down at Izuku with a sad expression.

"I'm a hero kid. My name is Eraserhead. Don't worry, you're safe now."

Izuku looked down, sad yet thankful that a hero had tried to save his mom, and Izuku could tell he regretted not being able to save her. Then the door opened and both boys looked up to see it was a detective. "Hello, my name is Detective Naomasa. I hope you will allow me to ask some questions so I can collect a statement."

Naomasa sat down and saw the depressed face of Izuku and the concerned one of Aizawa.

"Firstly... how did the fire start?" Izuku flinched at that, and Aizawa answered for the boy.

"I believe his quirk did it. When I got to the scene, intense black flames engulfed the house and the boy, but he was unaffected by them. The firefighters tried to put him out, but the fire wouldn't go out till I used my quirk on him. Judging by his reaction, this must be his first time using it, and it most likely happened as he slept."

"I see… Then was this a conscious decision, or was it accidental?" Naomasa asked with some hesitation.

"... I can't answer that," Aizawa said, looking down.

Naomasa really didn't want to ask a child these questions, but considering his job, he had to know so he could help. "It's okay kid, we just want to know, nothing bad will happen, so please can you help us?"

Izuku sat there in silence looking down, clearly bothered, but then tears started to surface again and he used his hands to hide his face. And through his sobs, he talked.

"It was… All… My fault… My quirk… Killed… My mom… I… Hate… My... Quirk. " Izuku was full-blown crying again, and Aizawa tried his best to comfort the kid, but since he didn't have experience with it, he didn't really know how to comfort a kid who had just watched his mom die.

But it was even sadder for Aizawa than anyone knew. He hated seeing someone hate a part of themselves, and it hurt more to see a child who would normally love their quirk and accept it, outright hate it. It pained him to know this child would probably grow up hating himself and avoiding other people out of fear of hurting others or doing something bad.

Unfortunately, Aizawa wouldn't get to think about it more since Mitsuki, Masaru, and Katsuki would burst into the room with the parents rushing over to Izuku and hugging him deeply while Katsuki looked sad.

"Oh Izuku, we're so glad you're okay! These men didn't do anything to you, did they? Because if they did I will personally kick their asses!"

"Mitsuki, now is not the time for this. We need to get everything sorted out and be here for Izuku."

"Right, sorry, so tell us what happened." All the Bakugos looked at Naomasa, who had a quirked eyebrow.

"Sorry, I can't disclose any information to people not related to this."

"Actually they are related, since I heard Izuku here call her 'auntie' and they looked to be quite close."

"We're long-time family friends. Izuku is practically my son at this point. So please tell us what happened." Naomasa huffed in frustration but then steeled himself for the bombshell that he was about to drop. He motioned for the family to take a seat as he prepared to tell them.

"A fire broke out at the Midoriya residence. The flames were black and extremely intense. Thankfully, firefighters were able to put the flames on the house out before they could spread to other apartments. But the question of how they started was just answered. Izuku's quirk had manifested and started the fire while he slept. He didn't want to start the fire; it just happened."

All the Bakugos looked at Izuku, who just started to cry again while sinking into the chair trying to hide. Aizawa just sat there and patted Izuku's shoulder since the Bakugos didn't know what to do. No one made a move, but then Mitsuki walked over to the crying Izuku and held his hands as he tried to pull them away.

"No, go away Auntie! I don't want to hurt you either!" Izuku desperately said, as tears fell from his eyes. Mitsuki ignored his pleas and just held his hands while softly smiling at Izuku, then she continued.

"I know you won't hurt me, Izuku. You're a kind soul, so I know you don't want to hurt me." Mitsuki then brought him into a hug and Izuku was crying into her then Masaru came over and patted Izuku's head and back while Katsuki just stared at the ground not talking.

Izuku calmed down slightly, and then Mitsuki stopped her hug and looked at Naomasa.

"What will happen to Izuku after all this?"

"He'll probably go live with a family member if we can get in contact with them, like his father."

Mitsuki winced slightly at that, which didn't go unnoticed by Aizawa and Naomasa, so she turned to Izuku.

"Izuku baby, can you and Katsuki go wait outside while I and Masaru talk to the officer for a bit?"

Izuku nodded while getting up to leave, and Katsuki just silently followed, staring at the ground. An officer went with them to the break area to give the boys some donuts they had leftover.

"Now that the boys are gone, let's talk about Izuku's living situation. I don't think giving him to his father is a great idea." Mitsuki started while Naomasa looked at her quizzically and used his quirk to get answers.

"Why is that?"

"Well… He abandoned Inko and Izuku when he was just a baby. Inko just told Izuku he was working abroad in America to not stress him out, but it was a lie. I'm sure you can find court documents proving he relinquished parental control of Izuku."

Naomasa nodded in understanding, and Aizawa listened to the conversation with interest. If he needed to, he would make the offer for the boy to come live with him. No one deserved to not have any parents to help them grow up, which is why he was so kind to those less fortunate.

"So Masaru and I are offering for Izuku to come and stay with us instead of being in foster care or some adoption program." Naomasa did think about this.

"Well, the boy does trust you, and he knows you well enough to call you Auntie. But it would be a bit more complicated than just letting him go with you since you're not family. If you want to take him, then you would need to file yourselves for foster care while we register Izuku for foster care. Then we can recommend that Izuku stay with you. We can rush through the documents to speed up the process, but you have to commit to taking him in."

"We'll do it." Both parents stated this at the same time, without hesitation. They would never let Izuku feel this horrible again, and foster care would probably make that worse.

"Alright, I'll call in our station lawyer. You can trust them to help speed this process up. I'll also get in contact with the foster program workers to begin registering Izuku. We also recommend some therapy for the boy. There is no doubt in my mind that he is traumatized by this. We can recommend a child phycologist slash therapist for him if you want."

"Thank you for your help, officer, but when will we be able to take Izuku home with us tonight?"

"Since there is currently no one for him to stay with, we have no choice but to let you have him for twenty-four hours. By that time, though, the foster care legal stuff should be dealt with, so you should be able to keep him. But we'll keep you informed of the situation as it progresses."

The parents thanked Naomasa, and they left to get Izuku and Katsuki. Both boys stayed silent, which worried the parents since Katsuki was usually a loud kid. Soon they left the precinct to go to the Bakugo residence, and Naomasa was still in the room with Aizawa.

"Well, this is a shitty situation," Naomasa spoke to ease the tension.

"I can't imagine how that boy must feel right now."

"Yeah, I don't think anyone can. I know he didn't mean to kill his mother with his quirk, and I don't blame him for anything. But kids won't see it that way, and he certainly doesn't see it that way."

"The guilt will tear him apart. There has to be something we can do about this. Little kids are ruthless when it comes to this kind of stuff." Aizawa spoke from experience as he mulled over the situation.

"You know as well as I do, Eraser, all we can do is provide technical and legal support. Emotional baggage and comfort isn't what we do, even if it feels like the completely wrong thing to do here,"

"I should give them my number so they can call me to support him. I can help the kid deal with this since I was there, so I can at least offer some closure."

"Maybe, but they may not take it. I hate to do this, but I have to go and deal with other work. Good night and good luck, Eraser."

Naomasa got up and collected his files, then left the room, leaving Aizawa alone in the room to feel bad at how he couldn't help the child that was here a moment ago. Sighing, he decided he should call it a night and go home. After all, he had some cats and some video games to enjoy to help him unwind.

That night, Izuku would barely sleep, the events of the day still fresh in his mind. Reliving the terror-filled events in his head made him cry himself to sleep. Katsuki hadn't even talked to him or his parents since they got home.

But as Izuku was falling asleep, he felt angry, at no one in particular, except at himself. He was angry that he wasn't strong enough to protect his mom from anything. He hated himself since he couldn't save his mom and instead he killed her. That night, Izuku made a promise to himself.

.

He would never use his villainous quirk... ever again.

The next day, Izuku woke up feeling… numb. It was almost like he didn't know how to feel anything. After all, Izuku had no idea what to feel; he had killed his mom. Mitsuki came into the room and saw Izuku's depressed face, and her heart ached at the sight since she knew Izuku was such a happy child.

Inko's tragic death affected Izuku greatly, more so since it was his quirk manifesting that made it happen. So Mitsuki needed to get him in touch with a therapist as soon as possible before it got worse.

Packing a new bag of schoolwork and supplies for Izuku and grabbing some of Katsuki's clothes for him to wear, she regrettably had to send him off to school. As Izuku and Katsuki left, she called the foster care office, a therapist, and the police, along with a quirk doctor, to get him an appointment.

.

Bakugo walked side by side with Izuku, and they both looked down, sad at the death of Inko.

Once at school, the teachers saw the pair, and they were cautious around Izuku since news travels fast. Both boys ignored the teachers and went to the class and sat down. Izuku tried his best to hide himself, but he wasn't very good at it.

Bakugo took notice but said nothing to him and just sat there beside Izuku while looking down in sadness. Soon, though, other kids came in, and their voices stopped when they saw Izuku. Bakugo could easily see what they were thinking.

'Look, it's the villain.'

After that, all the kids silently took their seats, and a teacher came in to begin the day for them.

.

.

.

A few hours later, it was lunch, and Izuku chose to just sit at his seat and eat slowly without showing any emotion. Bakugo sat next to him and did the same thing, despite being offered to join the other kids at their tables, but he didn't go and instead wanted to stay with Izuku.

Bakugo may have been loud and rude, but he wasn't dense, so when he saw Izuku hurting, he thought it best to stay there, even if he had no idea why he chose to stay.

But he found an answer to that as a group of boys came over to where they were sitting.

"Hey Bakugo, why don't you come and sit with us, away from the villain?"

Those words got a visible reaction out of Izuku, and he tried to breathe deeply and not react to being called a villain. Bakugo stopped eating as the boys continued to throw insults at Izuku.

"Why are you even sitting next to Bakugo? You're a villain; he's a hero. Heroes don't talk to villains. Heroes save people while villains kill people."

Izuku was now starting to tear up at being called a villain all because of his quirk and what happened last night. His fists were shaking in rage at himself and how they were probably right. But then something amazing happened.

A loud explosion rang out through the class, getting everyone's attention. They all looked up to see Bakugo seething in anger with mini-explosions going off in his hands. He was standing on the table, looking down at the boys with an angry glare.

"SHUT UP! ZUKU IS NOT A VILLAIN!"

Bakugo had clearly intimidated the boys, and he felt he needed to make a point, so he continued.

"Izuku has done nothing wrong! You're the wrong one, stupid extras! The Zuku I know would never hurt another person! So shut up!"

The boys were taken aback, but now they were angry, and now their anger was directed at Bakugo, who got down to their level.

"Why are you defending the villain?! He burned his house down and killed his mom! And he'll probably kill the rest of us!"

"I said, SHUT UP!"

Bakugo, going off of anger, punched the other boy in the gut and used his quirk to add power to the punch. The boy fell back, and Bakugo got into a fight with the others in the middle of the classroom. As Bakugo fought with four boys, the teachers had to break up the fight, while Izuku sat with tears in his eyes, watching the whole thing.

'Kacchan doesn't think I'm a villain? But I am. So why do I feel so relieved? I should be angry at myself!'

Soon, Mitsuki had to come and get both boys since she felt it best if they weren't at school right now. On the car ride home, she looked back, concerned for both of them, but then she had an idea to maybe help Izuku overcome his trauma.

Once they got to the house, Mitsuki went upstairs to her jewelry box and found an old necklace that didn't fit her anymore. She then went into Katsuki's and Izuku's shared room and found Inko's ring and put it on the necklace, and went to find Izuku.

"Hey Izuku baby, come here. I have something for you."

Izuku followed her into the kitchen while Katsuki went to the couch and turned on some cartoons while listening to Izuku's conversation.

"Listen Izuku I want you to have this." Mitsuki held out a necklace with Inko's ring on it, and the sight of it made Izuku look down, but Mitsuki placed it in his hand and hugged him.

"I want you to know that Inko loved you; she always did. And I know she would want you to have a piece of her with you wherever you go, so that you don't forget that love. So take it and wear it to remember her."

Izuku began tearing up as Mitsuki took the necklace and put it on Izuku, who cried into her shoulder for a bit, then separated to go watch cartoons with Katsuki.

Sitting down on the couch, Bakugo had a scowl on his face as he watched and would occasionally send a glance to Izuku. They were silent for the most part, but then Izuku would ask a question.

"Kacchan… Back in the classroom… Did you mean what you said?" Raising an eyebrow, Bakugo looked at Izuku and scoffed before answering.

"Of course I did. Why say something in the first place if you're not going to mean it." He said it in a rude tone while still watching cartoons.

"So... You don't... think... I'm a villain?" Izuku said, with some partial sobs, which made Bakugo scoff more.

"Only stupid bad people are villains, and I know you're not bad, just stupid, so why would that make you a villain?"

"...Thanks," Izuku said with a slightly relieved smile while on the verge of tears.

Mitsuki watched with a smile as she heard Katsuki's words. She knew her son was a rude asshole, but she also knew he wasn't as bad as he claimed to be. Bakugo cared deeply about Izuku since they'd always been together, and she was glad he didn't blame Izuku for Inko's tragic death.

To be honest, she was relieved to see that Katsuki didn't outright reject him. It meant that adopting Izuku and accepting him into the family would be easier since Bakugo wouldn't abandon his friend like that.

She smiled, knowing things would eventually be okay for Izuku as his life continued since he had the support of them now.

'Don't worry, Inko, I'll take good care of both of them.'

That night, Izuku would actually sleep, feeling a bit better about himself, but he still upheld his promise, and he planned to do it till he died. He would never hurt another person ever again.

As morning came, Mitsuki sent Bakugo to school and kept Izuku home since she figured it would be best. He needed to go see the quirk doctor and he needed to meet his foster care staff to get his papers dealt with.

The first thing they did was go and get Izuku fully registered for foster care and then immediately applied to take care of him after he was processed. Shockingly, another family tried to take Izuku away from them before the Bakugos could, but thanks to the police recommendation, they got him.

Mitsuki would never forget the name Todoroki for as long as she lived, since they tried to take her nephew from her.

After that, they went to the police station, and with their statements, the case about the house fire was closed. Naomasa gave them the contact information for the therapist he talked about, while also saying how glad he is that Izuku is doing fine even if he doesn't smile.

Later, Mitsuki, Masaru, and Izuku went to the quirk doctor, and Mitsuki told the doctor that Izuku had been down about his quirk and to not look too much into it. The doctor understood and did the tests, then came back with the results.

"Okay, Mrs. Bakugo. Izuku here has fully developed his quirk, and it is an emitter fire type. The fuel for his flames comes from the oxygen in his blood, and the results show that his oxygen usage is incredibly efficient. But if he uses too much oxygen, then he runs the risk of brain damage from a lack of oxygen in the blood and brain. So be careful when using your quirk, and if it gets worse in the future, then I recommend some cardio exercise to help increase lung capacity to aid in the blood oxygen levels."

"Is that it, doctor, or is there more?"

"Well, there is one more thing. Izuku needs to name his quirk so we can add it to the quirk registry."

"Oh right, I forgot, so Izuku, do you have a name in mind?"

They all looked down at the depressed boy as he thought about his quirk name for a moment. Izuku had no idea what to call his quirk.

'Maybe something to remind me to never use it, like 'Nightmare Flare' or 'Midnight Inferno' no those are stupid. 'Wretched firestorm' that one sounds good.'

Izuku was about to say the name of his quirk, but then he felt the necklace and ring around his neck and was reminded of Inko. Steeling himself, Izuku breathed deeply, knowing that his mom would not want him to ruin his life like that, so he stuck to something basic to honor her late and never-spoken request. Izuku looked up at all the adults with a small tear in his eye and a steeled expression and told them the name he had in mind.

"I'll call it 'Black Blaze'."
