Basis: Chapter 2

Date & Time: Tuesday, August 12th, 1975 11:00 A.M.

City: St. Georgina

State: Lanahassee

*Full page view of Precinct 51. The building towered over its surrounding buildings. It looked almost like a stereotypical City hall crossed over with a castle. Each floor of the building housed different departments. And Down below was the underground parking garage where detective and police units and personal vehicle were parked.

*Black 68 Dodge Charger pulls into the berth in between Sierra-12's Plymouth and a 1974 Dodge Monaco patrol car. The patrol car was black with a gold roof with a gold stripe running through the side connecting to the star badge decal on the driver and passenger door.

Note: All Monaco cruisers had the same design except for two unmarked cars used as spares for when detective vehicles were in the P.51 shop just past the precinct's building in the lot behind it. All Detectives had the special privilege to have their personal vehicles repaired or serviced at this garage. They would pay for the servicing but at a much-discounted price than any average garage or service station. It doubled as a fuel fill-up spot for all L.S.P.D. vehicles as well.

Jason: Looks like Reed and Burns made it alright.

Dustin: Yeah, Lets hurry up and get downstairs. The quicker we get this case done the quicker I can get home and finish the rebuild on that Hemi.

*Walking down the stairs towards the Tech services lab*

Jason: How much do you have left on the Hemi?

Dustin: Just bolting back on the new heads and rockers, putting in the lifters and rods, and bolting it all back together.

Jason: That Super Bee is gonna be a beast with that Hemi in it.

Dustin: I know. I mean there was a reason it was banned from NASCAR in the first place.

*Dustin and Jason enter the Tech services lab where Sebastian Schults, the Forensics Examiner for Precinct 51 was looking over the Bricks and the scratched 'V'-shaped piece of steel under a rather large looking glass.

Note: Sebastian Shults is of an athletic build. He has black hair, blue eyes, and a cleft chin. His goatee is only surrounding his mouth. He stands at about 6'0" 185lbs, wearing a white shirt with a black tie, dark brown trousers, brown loafers, and a White Lab coat with pens, a pen light, and his Glasses in the chest pocket.

Sebastian: Ahh! Morning, Gentleman.

Dustin: Mornin' C-bass.

Jason: Hey, C-bass.

Dustin: What have you got for us, man?

Sebastian: Well, you were told about what was found at the scene, but Sierra-12 brought me something that will interest you.

Jason: What's that?

Sebastian: These.

*The three men walk over to the two bricks laying under the desk light to accentuate the red flakes embedded into the reddish-brown clay brick *

Dustin: Bricks?

Sebastian: Take a closer look.

*looking closer on the brick with Red flake more predominant.

Dustin: Jase, come look at this.

*Jason walks over to Dustin who moved the magnifying glass to view the other brick to plainly see the red flakes in the clay.

Jason: I'm gonna wager its car paint?

Dustin: I'll double that bet and say its paint from a very specific red car.

Sebastian: You both are right on the money. And this?

*he holds up the warped and scratched 'V'-shaped piece of metal with a pair of heavy-duty tweezers*

Dustin: Grill emblem from our mystery vehicle.

Sebastian: Correct.

*The two detectives sit down at Sebastian's desk in the corner of the lab. *

Sebastian: Did any witness see the vehicle?

Dustin: Uh, yeah the lady I asked seen a late 50's car. Red and White in color.

Jason: The guy across the street seen a 50's Chrysler-made car or something like that the night before.

Sebastian: I'm waiting on the results to come back from my inquiry. Any car made with that specific shade of red within a 150-mile area.

*In walks in a young lady, in a uniform, holding a stack of papers. *

Sebastian: Hello, Carrie.

Note: Carrie is a recent hire for Sebastian as a Secretary. Her office is connected to the lab just as you enter the door. It is almost like a hallway into the actual lab and office.

Carrie: Good Morning, Gentleman. Sebastian, I have those results right here.

*She hands him a file with 4 pieces of paper in it. *

Sebastian: Thank you, Ma'am.

Carrie: You're Welcome

*Sebastian opens the file and rifles through the pages of vehicle descriptions with added pictures.

Sebastian: Paydirt.

Dustin: What is it?

Sebastian: A 1958 Plymouth Fury, Autumn Red and Ivory White. Registered to a Roland J. Cunningham of 1983 Carpenter Road.

Jason: You have a picture of our guy?

Sebastian: No, just the car.

*Shows a slightly faded polaroid Photo of a Red and White 1958 Plymouth Fury 4-door sedan sitting on an old dealership lot.

Dustin: That looks like the old Davidson Brothers Dealership on Carson Hill Road.

Sebastian: It was. But that place has been closed down since 1964.

Jason: Well, that's our suspect vehicle.

Dustin: Same red paint and the 'V'-shaped emblem on the grill.

*Dustin and Jason get up to leave. *

Sebastian: Be careful, Detectives.

*The two detectives entered the garage area to see two other Detectives, one a portly man with short brown hair, and beady brown eyes, and the other extremely short, scrawny, and his glasses sitting crooked due to his ears being slightly lopsided.

Dustin: What in the hell is this?

Jason (thought): Aww hell, here we go.

Dustin: FORELLI!

*Detective Forelli jumped; he was standing next to the Charger.

*Dustin approached the two other Detectives and stood in front of Forelli, leaning forward slightly to place his hand on the hood of the car.

Dustin: Just what in the hell do you think you're doing?

Forelli: I…. uh….

Dustin: You, uh, what?

Forelli: I was,

Dustin: I know, you and your partner are chasing a lead, and I do mean chase.

Forelli: Well yeah, but the problem,

Dustin: Is that your shitbox Ford is in the shop again. Right?

Forelli: Yeah.

*Dustin stood up straight and looked down at Forelli, he had a good 6 in. in height above him *

Dustin: So, you were going to take my beautiful black Dodge, and chase those Moonshiners from here to kingdom come, huh?

*Forelli's head sank to look at the ground.

Dustin: Uh-huh. So, just because you and your partner are also revenuers for the ATF and you chase those psychos through the hills of Razorback and beyond, does not mean that you have your pick of the damned garage.

Forelli: But our LTD is in the shop, Holcomb.

Dustin: I don't give a rat's ass, Forelli. There are back-up cars for a reason.

*Dustin looked Forelli dead in his beady eyes and spoke almost in a whisper.

Dustin: This is my last warning, Forelli. Stay away from my car and use one of the Monacos.

*Forelli and his partner walked away without another word and Dustin looked at Jason who had made his way over to the passenger side door.

Jason: You good?

Dustin: Yeah, let's haul ass.
