Thursday 5:30 pm
"Detention?" Odin asks.
"As I have already answered four times, yes. I had to remain at school past dismissal."
"As a form of punishment?"
"Yes." Loki rolls his eyes.
"So you still can't follow rules."
"Not that you would care but I was defending someone."
"Oh?" The Allfather questions.
"Yes. They were being made fun of."
There's a pause.
"I'll accept that."
Wait, what?
"Thank you, Father." Loki says.
"Goodbye." And there's a dial tone.
Thursday 6:00 pm
My dad seems proud of me.
That's great. I mean that is something you want, right?
Wait. I thought you were at work.
I am. Just taking a meal break. So I can talk for a bit.
Oh.
Is something wrong?
I don't know if I want my dad to be proud of me.
Why wouldn't you?
We don't agree on a lot of things. Could I be changing into him?
I don't think so. I think you could be meeting in the middle. Maybe he's learning to appreciate you more.
I'd like that more.
I wish Mr. Stark was proud of me more often.
Wait, you personally know him?
Yeah. Most people don't believe me.
I believe you. Do you know the Avengers?
Peter wonders how much the soulmark will let him tell.
I do. I was just chatting with Black Widow, Captain America, and the Hulk.
Oh. The Hulk.
What's wrong?
Not my desired superhero skilled set.
If you could have my superpower, what would it be?
Shape shifting.
You know what, me too. Then I could physically be male.
Exactly. Well, female for me. Or neither.
Sorry if this is rude but how would you be neither? Like nothing.
No. Keep the vagina, lose the breasts.
Oh, wow.
What?
Wasn't expecting to have the word vagina on my skin.
Oh. Sorry. Was that too graphic?
No. I mean, I asked. I was just caught off guard.
Okay.
Wait, you said keep the vagina. But you don't know how it feels to have one.
Loki wonders how he can answer without lying. First time in his life, he doesn't want to lie.
I have a vivid imagination.
Can you imagine me male?
You are male.
I mean physically.
Already do, love.
I like that. I have to go. Talk later?
Of course. Bye.
Thursday 8:30 pm
Peter sits in the car in awe. Dr. Bruce Banner wanted to drive him home.
But it's silent.
The car stops in front of his house. He makes a move to get out.
"Uh, Peter."
"Yes." He says, eagerly.
"I just wanted to tell you, uh. Didn't get the chance with the others around."
Peter waits but it doesn't seem like Dr. Banner is going to continue.
"Yes."
"Well, you remind me of myself. I'm worried about your soulmate."
"Why?" Peter asks, defensively.
"No. Nothing against them. I shouldn't have phrased it that way. I just know what it's like having strong willed soulmate."
"That's one way to describe Mr. Stark."
"Tony always means well."
"Especially when it comes to me."
"He cares a lot about you. But that's not my point. My point is make sure you have a voice in whatever relationship the two of you decide on."
Peter looks down.
"Your voice matters. Your feelings are valid. If they are worthy of you, they'll make you feel that."
"They do. Thank you."
"You're welcome, kid. Now get some rest." Dr. Banner ruffles his hair.
Thursday 9:25 pm
So you don't like the Hulk.
Not particularly.
How do you feel about Dr. Bruce Banner?
No opinion.
He just gave me meaningful advice.
Oh, what did he say?
He said to have a voice in our relationship.
You do. You feel you do right? I don't want you to feel silenced.
I do feel like I have a voice. It's just that I'm usually a pushover.
Flash.
Don't interrupt. It's nice to have someone so important say I matter.
You are important.
I'm just a person. I'm no Dr. Bruce Banner.
Are you guys friends?
Yeah we are.
Then, you're important to someone who you admire.
I've never thought of it that way.
And you're important to me.
Really?
Love, you're one of the most important persons in my life.
And you're one of mine.
I'm glad.
Bed time?
I don't wanna.
Luke, are you being cute?
Noooooo…
It's bedtime. We have all day this weekend to talk.
