The Sneak was traveling through hyperspace, Sonic and Tails were at the front while Amy was speaking to a hologram of Fang "Once we drop out of hyperspace, we'll be going dark". Fang looked concerned "Are you sure about this? You don't have to go to Marble Zone alone. I could be there in two rotations" "I'm not alone, Fang". Fang smirked and crossed his arms "You know, I could haver ordered you to take me along" "You don't exactly outrank me anymore" "In my book, experience outranks everything". Amy chuckled "Then I definitely outrank you". Fang's face turned worried again "May the Force be with you" he cut off. Tails turned to Amy "Why is Fang so worried? What does you all know that I don't?". Sonic glanced at him "Marble Zone has always been off-limits to Shinobi" "Why?". Sonic sighed "Old legends. Stories told to us as younglings in the Temple" "There's always a bit of truth in legends" Amy said. Tails wondered "If Marble Zone is off-limits, why would Master Blaze send us here?". Sonic took the ship out of hyperspace "I don't know, but I trust Master Blaze. There's something here for us" "Like something to help us stop Inquisitors?" Tails asked. Amy shook her head "Knowledge".
They entered the atmosphere of the planet, G-merl beeped "A ship? What type?" Tails asked. G-merl beeped again "Can't tell? Alright, track it, let's see who else is interested in this place" Sonic said. They flew through the clouds and saw large crater "I'm gonna set her down. The ship we're tracking's near here". They landed near the crater and exited the shuttle "I don't see any ship" "It's gotta be around here somewhere. G-merl, try to get a fix on its location" Sonic said. G-merl saluted as the they walked off. The saw large stone columns across the area and they went over to one of them "What're these things?" Tails asked. Amy saw writing on it "This… it's in the old tongue" "Can you read it?" "I can try. It's a very old form, I can only make out a few words". Tails however started hearing a voice and in an act of instinct reached out to the column, "No, don't!" Amy yelled. Tails placed his hand on the column and a red light formed around it. He let go wondering what just happened, but the ground began to crack, and they fell through. They screamed as they all landed in a large cave. Tails groaned as he stood up and he saw a structure in the distance "What is that?". Amy stared at it "Raiju Temple", it looked like a pyramid with the top point being red.
The three of them were heading towards the temple when they heard G-merl over commlink. Tails rolled his eyes "Oh, the ground may not be stable. Thanks for the warning" "Gem, any fix on the ship yet" Sonic asked. G-merl beeped "Alright, we'll check it out. This way. The trail leads to the temple". Tails stared up at it "Do you think whatever's in the temple is what we're looking for?" "Probably. Just remember, if there's a ship, we're not alone down here" "But what is it we're looking for?". Amy turned to him "Forbidden knowledge. To defeat your enemy, you have to understand them".
They eventually made it to the courtyard of the temple and saw hundreds of bodies petrified in place like stone. Tails saw lightsabers all around them "What happened here?". Sonic examined one of the bodies "This was a battlefield" they could hear faint screaming through the Force. Amy looked around "It looks like at one time, thousands of years ago, Shinobi Knights attacked the temple" "And the Shinobi won?" "From what I can tell, nobody won". Sonic walked past them "I hate to break up the history lesson, but we should keep moving "GET DOWN!". Sonic was suddenly pushed forward; he turned back and saw Tails in a saber lock with a coyote Inquisitor with an eyepatch over his left eye and yellow hair. He jumped back as Amy and Sonic ignited their lightsabers. The Inquisitor smiled "Three Shinobi? "And you?" "I am Patch". The Shinobi charged but Patch threw four grenades at the ground. The blast threw Amy and Sonic away but the ground around Tails broke and he fell to a lower level "Sonic!". Sonic and Amy saw Patch escaping and looked down to Tails "Tails! Tails, can you hear me!?". Tails stood up with struggle "I'm okay". Amy watched Patch "He's getting away. Let's go!". Tails nodded "Don't worry about me, I'll catch up!". Sonic reluctantly nodded and he and Amy chased after Patch. Tails looked around this new area "Yeah, I'll catch up. As soon as I find where I am" "I know where you are" he heard a frail voice say. He turned and watched something emerge from the darkness "You're with me" it chuckled.
Tails ignited his lightsaber and saw that it was a green hedgehog wearing a leather jacket, he had a lash across his chest and was holding a cane. Tails couldn't see his face because he was wearing a hood. The hedgehog turned away from him "Please put your weapon away. I… I mean you no harm". He started walking towards Tails "Stay back!" "Forgive me, it… It's just, I've been alone so long. It-It's been years since I've spoken to anyone". Tails lowered his lightsaber slightly "You live here?" "Ha. Not by choice. My ship crashed. I'm trapped, marooned. I've had to scrounge and scrape to survive". Tails finally lowered his lightsaber fully "Well, I might be able to help. I've got to help my friends but then we can get you off world". He turned away but the hedgehog followed "Well, perhaps I could help you" "I doubt that" "Why are you here?". Tails glanced at him "I'm not gonna tell you that" "You came for the same reason I did, years ago. You seek knowledge". Tails in surprise turned to him "It's in the temple, isn't it?". The hedgehog nodded "And I know the secret way to get inside, but I can't alone. I… I… I need help to open the door". Tails walked up to him "What's inside?" "Help me and find out" "Show me this doorway". The hedgehog nodded "Please, this way". Tails stared at him suspiciously "You first" "Don't you trust me?" "I don't know you". The hedgehog smirked "Well, then let's change that. Call me King. And you?" "Call me Jun". The hedgehog nodded "Hmm. Come then, Jun".
Sonic and Amy were continuing their pursuit, the former laughed "It's nice to have them running form us for a change" "It's probably because he's outnumbered" "He did seem surprised. I don't think he was looking for us". They stopped "Then who is he tracking?". Sonic's commlink activated and he herd G-merl "You found the ship? Where?". G-merl beeped again "No. No. Forget it. Get over there and find that ship. Don't let him take off! We'll follow your signal". They started chasing Patch again as G-merl beeped "No, disobeying me will be dangerous. Get going!".
Tails and the hedgehog were walking through the caves "You worry about your friends?" "They need my help". The hedgehog sighed "Yes and with good reason. The Inquisitor is powerful". Tails stopped "Wait, you know about the Inquisitor?" "He is my enemy. Them and their masters are my enemy". Tails stared at him "Were you a Shinobi". The hedgehog took a step back "Uh, no. No, no. But I was a Force-wielder, long ago. A long time ago". Tails tightened his grip on his lightsaber "Then you're a Raiju". Tails watched rage enter the eyes of the hedgehog "The Raiju. The Raiju took everything from me. Ripped me from my mother's arms, murdered my brother, used me as a weapon, and then threw me aside. Abandoned me. Once I had power, now…. Now I have nothing. Nothing". Tails turned sympathetic "I know how you feel". He turned angry "The Empire, it took away my home, my parents". The hedgehog placed his hand on Tails' shoulder "And you want revenge?" "I want justice!" "Yes, yes! And you will have it, for I have discovered the key" "The key to what". The hedgehog turned in the direction of the temple "The key to destroying the Raiju" "That's what's inside the temple?" "Yes, secrets of the Raiju, secrets that have been buried with the dead for thousands of years". Tails followed "And you'll share this knowledge with me?" "Yes, of course".
Sonic and Amy followed Patch to his ship and saw G-merl inside. G-merl flew the ship and fired on Patch. He tried to deflect but was shot back and lost his lightsaber. Sonic and my stood over him "G-merl, sometimes you do it right".
Tails and the hedgehog went through a triangular tunnel and reached a large hall "Whoa" "A place of worship for some. To others an engine of destruction. At its centre is our prize". They reached a large door, but a rock was in the way "How do we get in" "Two must lift these stones. No more, no less. That is the way of the Raiju" "You seem to know a lot about them". The hedgehog glanced at him "To defeat your enemy, you must know your enemy. Even practice their beliefs" "I don't think my master would approve of that". The hedgehog sighed "Then he is doomed to fail. Now, young Shinobi, help me". The hedgehog watched intently as Tails tried to lift the rock with the Force. He groaned but then gave up "I can't. It's too heavy" "Your anger is a wellspring. You must use it". Tails stared confusingly at him "But a Shinobi is never supposed to act out of emotion" "Your passion gives you strength. And through strength, you gain power. You have seen it. You feel it. You must break your chains".
Tails focused, he thought about being told his parents were dead, what the Empire did to his planet. He held out hand and the rock lifted; the hedgehog grinned "Yes. Use your power". Tails held it up and the two of them walked through but there was another rock. The hedgehog then lifted that rock and they both walked under it "What now?" "Release yours". Tails did so and then he lifted the next rock and they repeated this multiple times until Tails fell to the ground exhausted. The hedgehog kneeled down "Unless you take risks, do what must be done there will always be limits to your abilities. Seize the knowledge. Seize the power. Don't become like me, Jun". The hedgehog helped him up. Tails sighed "My real name's Miles Prower. People call me Tails though". Tails saw sadness in the hedgehog's eyes "Real name? Yes, I once had a real name. So long ago, but I don't remember". The hedgehog removed his hood revealing a familiar face "Now… now I am called… Scourge".
Amy and Sonic stood in front of the restrained Patch "You're the fourth Inquisitor we've seen. How many are there?" "More than enough for the two of you". He chuckled "Nothing can save you" "Why are you on Marble Zone?" Sonic asked, "You weren't expecting us. Who were you after?" Amy added. Patch chuckled "I am hunting the shadow".
Scourge and Tails entered a large room with a gap between them and a platform holding a small pyramid in the middle with a red glowing object inside "Behold the key". Tails got closer and recognised the object "It's a chaos drive" "You know of them?" "Yeah, but… but the one I saw was blue". Scourge nodded "Because this is a Raiju drive, one that holds all their secrets" "How do we get to it?" "It is a test. Only someone with the courage to risk oblivion is worthy to claim it". Tails looked down the drop "Throw me. I'll jump and then you use the Force to throw me. I've done it with my Master before". Scourge nodded, Tails stepped back and then ran forward and jumped as far as he could. Scourge then used the Force to throw him across right in front of the pyramid. He cautiously walked up to the pyramid, reached inside and grabbed the chaos drive causing the temple to shake.
Outside Sonic and Amy watched as the temple lit up. Taking advantage of the distraction Patch pressed a button on his wrist device. Amy turned to Sonic "We need to find Tails" "Gem, get back to the Sneak and get ready to leave". Amy made Patch stand "Come on. Let's take a walk". As they ran the top of the temple started opening "Why do I know Tails is involved somehow".
The platform Tails was standing on started to rise "Jump!" Scourge yelled. "I won't make it!" Tails said as he was heading straight towards a large ball of energy. "Tails! Trust me!" Scourge said. Tails closed hi eyes and jumped off the platform. He screamed as he fell down but was caught by Scourge. Scourge pulled Tails towards him using the chaos drive. Tails thought for a moment that Scourge was going to take it, but he smirked and helped Tails back "There was nothing to fear. You were wise to trust me".
Sonic, Amy and Patch made it to the entrance of the temple that was blocked by a rock "He's inside, I know it. But there's no way we lifted that door" "Not without help". Patch laughed, Sonic's commlink activated "What is it, G-merl?". G-merl beeped "Company?". Patch laughed again and the three of them then saw Fiona and Sleuth above them. They were holding their lightsabers above them and they were spinning like helicopter blades allowing them to slowly descend. Amy and Sonic ignited their lightsabers and fought Sleuth right as he landed but Fiona flew over them and cut Patch's restraints who then grabbed his lightsaber. Fiona chucked "An excellent day's hunt" they surrounded Amy and Sonic.
Tails and Scourge were walking through the temple as the former was examining the chaos drive "This one won't open like the other" "You must be a Raiju. Or think like one. But it has other uses. Give it to me. I will show you". Tails hesitantly did so, and Scourge placed it inside a slot in the wall. A door started to open "Raiju chaos drives are keys that can open many doors" he handed the drive back to Tails. They walked through and Tails saw Amy and sonic fighting the Inquisitors. Tails quickly ignited his lightsaber and charged towards them "Amy, Sonic! I've brought help". Everyone looked behind Tails "Scourge" Amy said in surprise, "The Shadow" Patch said. Scourge started laughing sadistically "What fun. Haha. What fun!".
Fiona stared at Scourge as he walked forward "So, the rumours are true. Lord Scourge lives" "Formally Lord, now just Scourge". He stepped next to a worried Sonic "Tails, step away from him!". Tails was confused "Sonic, he's on our side". Scourge stepped forward "Perhaps my actions will speak louder than words". He grinned sadistically and broke part of his cane revealing it to be a double bladed lightsaber. He leaped forward and fought the three Inquisitors at once and managed to hold his own against them. Tails watched in amazement as Scourge started pushing them back. Fiona got in a saber lock "Why would you come here?" "He knows of the artifact" Sleuth said as he tried to strike Scourge. Sonic charged forward and stopped him, Amy then charged on Scourge's other side and stopped Patch who stared at Scourge "The chaos drive. Do you have it" "You'll find out soon enough". "Fall back!" Fiona ordered, the three of them spinned their lightsabers and flew away. Amy glared at the green hedgehog "Scourge, what game are you playing?" "The end game, Lady Rose. The end game". He put his hands behind his back and turned to them "I am the enemy of your enemy now, and I have my own reasons for wanting the Empire to fall. But we have little time. The one they call Eclipse will be here soon".
Sonic stared sceptically at him "How do you know this?" "His dogs will tell him where we are. Two Shinobi and a part timer" he said mockingly at Amy who glared at him. Scourge continued "Oh, he will come. He won't be able to resist us". Sonic shook his head "Okay, hold on, there is no us" "Dealing with Inquisitors is one thing, Eclipse is another. And I'm not convinced we're all on the same side anyway". Tails stepped forward "Sonic, we should trust him. He helped me take this from the temple. This is why we came here, right? To find a way to beat the Raiju" he showed them the chaos drive. Amy sighed "Tails, there is now way a Shinobi can unlock that drive" "But you may unlock the Temple itself" Scourge said. He pointed to the top of the temple "There is a chamber. We connect the chaos drive to the obelisk within and you can unlock the ancient knowledge of the Raiju". Amy glared at him "Why are you working so hard to keep us here?" "I can't beat Eclipse alone". Sonic rolled his eyes "Well, that's not our problem. We're going". Scourge scoffed "Are you such cowards that you would run from this chance to defeat your enemies? Who slaughters your friends?". Tails and Amy stared at Sonic who sighed and activated his commlink "G-merl, we're staying for a while. Scan for incoming ships and keep the Sneak out of sight". Scourge smiled "Oh, how exciting. We're all on the same side" "Just show us how to get to the top, and hurry". Scourge led them away as a robotic chao was watching.
The Inquisitors had just listened to the conversation "The boy has the chaos drive" "We cannot allow him to use it". Patch stood up "I will reclaim it!" he lifted his lightsaber and flew away. Sleuth was about to follow but Fiona stopped him "Wait! Let him thin them out, then we will retrieve Lord Eclipse's prize".
The group reached one side of the temple "Now what?" Sonic asked. Scourge pushed his hand against the wall and a platform descended. Tails then Scourge stepped on. Sonic was about too but Scourge put his hand up "Only two. No more, no less" "Well these two come as a set". Sonic pushed Scourge of and stood next to Tails. He looked to Amy "You okay riding with Mucus here" "I'll be fine". The platform took the two of them up "Tails, listen to me, he's using you" "Sonic, can't you trust me" "I do trust you". Tails shook his head "Scourge sees what I could be. You don't" "He'll say anything to get what he wants". Once they arrived at a higher-level Patch lunged at them and knocked Sonic to the ground. Tails tried to fight him but was pushed over the edge and held on for dear life. Patch kneeled down in front of him "Give the chaos drive!" he lowered the lightsaber to Tails' hand "Tails!". Scourge appeared with Amy and pushed Patch off the edge of the temple, and he flew away. Scourge helped Tails up then the four of them saw Fiona and Sleuth fly overhead. Sonic turned to Scourge "Looks like they've figured out your plan" "Then we change it. I recommend that we split up and climb the pyramid form two sides. They will have to split up to deal with us". Sonic crossed his arms "And let me guess, Tails goes with you? No thanks" "It is the logical choice". Tails nodded "I say we split up. Trust me". Sonic sighed which was enough for Scourge "Excellent, excellent. There's another lift on the far side, meet us at the next terrace" he and Tails stepped on the next platform which took them up. Sonic watched them worryingly, "He'll be fine" Amy said, "How do you know that?" "Because you taught him".
Scourge turned to Tails "The dark side fights without mercy, without remorse. You need that strength to be victorious". He closed his eyes "I feel that strength in you. You've killed, yet I feel little remorse from you". Tails lowered his head "I have to hold it back. Sonic told me that fighting is a last resort. But… that's usually what we do. I can't let my fear get in the way of the mission". Scourge smiled "Good. I'm glad to know I can count on you". They made it to the next level but a lightsaber was suddenly thrown in front of them. They looked up and saw Fiona laughing at them. He jumped down and charged forward.
Sonic and Amy heard Tails yelling "That doesn't sound good!". They made it up and saw Patch and Sleuth waiting for them.
Tails, Scourge and Fiona were fighting their way up a set of stairs. Scourge stepped back and watched Tails "That's it, young one. Use your anger, use your pain, let it fill you, fuel you". Tails pushed her back and she was suddenly lifted into the air clutching her throat "No! No!" "Kill her!" Scourge ordered holding out his hand. Tails coldly stared at her and was about to strike but "No, please. Don't" Fiona begged. Tails froze, his eyes opened wide. Scourge clenched his teeth "You want to end this? Finish her" "Please. Have mercy!". Tails eyes were full of anger, but he then lowered his lightsaber. Fiona smirked but Scourge growled and threw his lightsaber at her. She screamed in terror just before the lightsaber removed her head. Tails looked down at the body in shock. Scourge stepped up next to him "Like you said. You can't let your fears get in the way. The next time you hesitate like that, it may cost you or others their lives". Tails slowly nodded when they both heard Sonic fighting "We have to hurry. I fear our companions are in danger".
They ran up the stairs and saw Amy and Sonic fighting over the edge of a platform surrounded by dead Shinobi. Scourge then felt something through the Force "What is it?" "Nothing. We can't delay. I will handle this. You take the chaos drive. Place it in the obelisk, activate the temple, gain the knowledge you seek". Tails looked down at his friends but then sighed "I'll meet you at the top" he ran further up the temple. Scourge ignited his lightsaber and jumped down. He used a surprise attack to destroy Sleuth's saber. The dog watched in fear as Scourge slashed across his stomach. He screamed in pain before falling to the ground. Amy and Sonic were no overwhelming Patch, the latter managed to hit his lightsaber handle damaging it. He backed away and stared at the three warriors ready to kill him. He jumped over the edge of the temple and attempted to fly away but his lightsaber suddenly exploded in his hands and he fell far down screaming. Scourge turned and looked up to the top of the temple. Sonic turned to him "Where's Tails?" "You mean, my apprentice?". Sonic and Amy stared at each other for a moment but then within a split-second Scourge turned around and slashed Sonic's eyes. He let out a bloodcurdling scream, all he could see was red and he felt burning pain "Sonic!" he faintly heard Amy say concerned. Scourge was about to perform the killing blow, but Amy stopped him and pushed Scourge back. He smirked "My apprentice is activating the temple, or more clearly, this battle station, which I will use to wipe out all my enemies!".
Tails made it to the top of the temple and saw a large pyramid shape. He entered. He saw a strange machine in the centre. He took out the chaos drive and focused. The drive began to hover towards the machine and entered the centre. The chaos drive began to spark and then opened up. A beam of electricity shot into it and the entire room lit up. Then to the surprise of Tails "Who comes forth?" "Tai… Miles, Miles Prower. I was told this drive is the key to knowledge" Tails said nervously. The electricity around the drive seem dot become more violent "Indeed, Miles Prower. And do you know what knowledge is?" "Tell me" "Knowledge is power". There was a huge flash, and a beam was shot out of the temple and through the roc ceiling out into the sky.
Amy and Scourge stopped as the Temple began to violently shake. Scourge laughed "The power will be mine! Tails will be mine, and there is nothing you can do to stop me". As they fought, the wounded Sonic reached cross the ground and found his lightsaber and then a piece of black cloth. Amy jumped away from Scourge up onto a higher platform "Running away again, Lady Rose?" Scourge said mockingly. Amy smirked "If you want to finish our fight, you'll have to deal with him first". Scourge confused turned around and saw Sonic now with the cloth cover tied around his head and covering his eyes. He looked in Amy's direction "Go get Tails!". Amy quickly started climbing the pyramid. Scourge laughed at Sonic "I will make this quick", Sonic calmly ignited his lightsaber "You already had your chance". Sonic stayed where he was as Scourge quietly stepped towards him. Sonic however could hear the metal feet hitting the floor. Scourge tried to attack but Sonic effortlessly blocked the attacks, grabbed Scourge's wrist, and threw him over the edge of the pyramid. Scourge's screaming clued Sonic in that it worked. Sonic fell to his knees and his commlink activated "G-merl! Am I glad to hear you. We need a pickup". G-merl beeped "A TIE fighter? Are you sure?".
Tail listened to the voice "I have been waiting" "What's happening?" "The power to destroy life is at your command". Tails took a step back "What? No! That's not what I wanted!" "Then perhaps the other who approaches will claim it instead". Tails' eyes opened wide "Scourge". He ran back out "Sonic, Amy, Scourge tricked us! This temple's a weapon!". A light hit him from above. He tried to see what it was and was horrified to see Eclipse standing on top of a descending TIE. Tails ignited his lightsaber and backed away as Eclipse jumped in front of him "You have unlocked the secret of the Temple. How did you accomplish this?". Tails hid his fear "It's a bad sign if you need my help!". He tired to strike Eclipse who easily blocked him "No matter. The power within will soon serve the Emperor". Tails stood his ground "I'm not afraid of you" "Then you will die braver than most". Tails tried to block his attacks, but Eclipse managed to destroy the handle of his lightsaber. The damage shocked Tails' hands causing him to fall back. Terror took over Tails' face as Eclipse glared down at him "Perhaps I was wrong". He was about to kill Tails when "It wouldn't be the first time". Eclipse stopped and turned to see Amy standing before him "It was foretold that you would be here. Our long-awaited meeting has come at last" "I'm glad I gave you something to look forward to".
Eclipse deactivated his lightsaber "We need not be adversaries. The Emperor will show you mercy if you tell me where the remaining Shinobi can be found". Amy glared angrily at him "There are no more Shinobi. You and your Inquisitors have seen to that". Eclipse turned to Tails "Perhaps this child will confess what you will not". Amy took a step closer "I was beginning to believe I knew you were behind that suit but it's impossible. My master could never be as vile as you". Eclipse turned back to her "Shadow the Hedgehog was weak. I destroyed him". Amy's eyes closed sorrowfully before they were filled with anger "Then I will avenge his death" "Revenge is not the Shinobi way" "I'm no Shinobi". They both ignited their lightsabers. Amy charged forward and the two duelled leading outside. Tails watched as Amy managed to jump around Eclipse dodging his attacks "I need a lot more training". He stood, held his injured right arm and limped over to the chaos drive and tried to reach out for it. It however pushed him back. He tried to get back up when "It takes a Master and an apprentice". He turned and saw Sonic and G-merl coming towards them with the Sneak behind them. Tails didn't notice that G-merl was holding Sonic's hand leading him forward. Tails ran forward and saw the cloth around Sonic's eyes "Sonic, what happened, why are you wearing that?" "I'll explain later! G-merl, get the Sneak ready" G-merl saluted and went back to the Sneak. "Tails, help me to the chaos drive" Sonic said as he held out his hand. Tails stared up at Sonic's face "Sonic, your eyes…" "Let's worry about that later. We've got to get that drive out of here".
Tails put Sonic's right arm over his shoulders and helped him towards the centre of the room "Where's Amy?" "With Eclipse". Eclipse managed to get the upper hand on Amy and push her over the edge of the temple. Tails got Sonic to the drive "Now reach! Higher!" they both grabbed the drive and manged to pull it out. The beams of energy became more violent "The temple's gonna collapse". The pyramid began to close around them so Tails guided Sonic to the Sneak as fast as he could "G-merl, be ready to-Whoa!". The chaos drive suddenly started pulling Tails back towards Eclipse "No! No, no!". Sonic grabbed Tails' other arm "I got you!". Behind Eclipse Amy jumped back up and charged towards him. As he turned around Amy leaped up, yelled and slashed Eclipse's face and jumped over him. Eclipse fell to the ground, "Amy! Come on, hurry!" Tails yelled being able to move again. Amy was about to follow but "Amy!" the voice was distorted but it was one she recognised. Amy's eyes opened wide with shock. She turned around and saw Eclipse kneeling down. He turned his face to her, and she saw the right side of his face was slashed destroying that part of the holo-suit. Inside there was the eye of Shadow the Hedgehog "Amy" it was Shadow's voice. Amy stared at him in shock "Shadow". Tails helped Sonic into the Sneak and then looked back and saw Eclipse standing up. Amy shook her head "I won't leave you. Not this time". Eclipse stared at her with an unreadable expression for few moments. Then pure rage entered his one visible eye "Then you will die" his voice slowly turned back to Eclipse as he spoke. He ignited his lightsaber and started limping towards her, but she stood her ground. "Amy!" Tails yelled as he ran to help her, but she pushed him back with the Force. He watched the pyramid separate them "No! No!" the last thing he saw was Amy blocking an attack by Eclipse. Sonic stared aimlessly out of the Sneak "Tails! Tails, we have to go!". Tails reluctantly ran into the Sneak which flew out of the cave a massive ball of energy expanded out of the temple. Inside the Sneak Sonic was sitting down with his arms around Tails who was crying "There's nothing we can do now. It's over".
They arrived at Gizoid Base where the rest of the Hurst crew were waiting. Tails helped Sonic out of the Sneak, he now had bandages over his eyes. A shocked Sally ran over and put her hands on Sonic's face before hugging him. A guilty Tails looked over to a sad Wave, Tex and Fang who understood why Amy wasn't with them.
A TIE fighter carrying an alive Scourge escaped Marble Zone. On the surface a damaged Eclipse limped away from what was left of the destroyed temple. A blue flicky watched him before flying into the ruins of the temple and saw Amy walking deeper inside.
In his cabin alone Tails was sitting on his bed holding the Raiju chaos drive in front of him. He concentrated and the drive suddenly hovered above his hands and slowly began to open. Tails opened his eyes which glowed red form the light of the drive.
