Ch: 11

Boy howdy, how long has it been. I think the last time I wrote something for this was in May. Not as long as the last time gap I'm sure, but I'm still back nonetheless. I have returned mostly due to the desire to catch this story up with how it is playing out in my head. No promises if I'll be able to post more frequently, but I will promise this one thing...I don't actually have anything to promise. I don't know where I was going with this.

Sentaro's P.O.V.

It had been a month since 'the incident'. Apparently, the White Fang thought it was a good idea to release a few hundred Grimm onto the civilian population of Vale. Luckily, there were very few casualties. A few civilians were injured, but no one killed. It was probably a best case scenario to be honest. The council decided to outlaw any formal White Fang meetings in the city and several of the leading members of this sect were placed on the watch list. In addition, Atlas saw fit to send a few cruisers into the airspace so as to provide an extra layer of defense, which is good since there are very few professional Huntsmen living in the city at any time. Most live on campus at Beacon. After everything settled down and classes started up again, I began to give each of my students their own individual training. For Jaune and Pyrrha, I set them up with precision training. It was my understanding that while both could kill their targets, neither knew how much effort they needed to put into the strikes. Both of them are now in the simulated training room, practicing to kill Grimm in quick and efficient time. For Ren and Blake, both did not have this issue. If I didn't know any better, I'd say they were successful assassins, though ninja is a more appropriate term for Ren. The most recognizable issue they both have is that they lack stamina. So for now, they are both running through the training course, using darts to hit moving targets. I told them to not stop until they hit at least 5 bullseyes in under a minute while running. Yang and Nora were fighters. Up close and personal was their code. So I had them at the firing range. I gave them both long range targets that constantly moved and hid away, maybe popping up once every ten minutes. Both were brash and impatient. This is a fatal flaw. They both lose their composure too quickly. Though, if I'm honest, I have Nora doing that because she wouldn't stop pestering me to teach her to use my dragon slayer. It was too large for her, and besides, mine weighs nearly 3 times more than the one used in the manga I'd read.

Finally, Ruby and Weiss were sitting in front of me, meditating. They were training to control the flow of energy swirling within their body. Unlike with auras where you need only find the easiest flowing spot to bring out your power, the Magistrate's energy can be moved throughout the body, released anywhere except that spot. Eventually, I will have to put a limiter seal on them so they use the energy in any full body method. In their free time, I had them reading beginners tomes. Today would be the day I teach them their first spell. The first page of the tome, aside from the acknowledgement and table of contents, was the thought projection spell. They'd begin learning this spell by using empathetic reach, a basic form of telepathy. Feeling their energy balance, I too open my eyes. For this, I needed my magic, so I was currently blind to the physical world. My eyes were instead open to the magical realm. To me, both girls looked older. Ruby looked to be about as old as her sister. Her body had developed in some areas, though not nearly as much as Weiss, who went up a full two cup sizes. Coughing, I shake my head, imagining them as they are now instead of how they appear in their prime. Weiss has reverted to her current form while Ruby's shape doesn't change. Her wish had finished acting and now she was physically the same age as her sister. Speaking, I tilt my head, addressing the girls.

"Alright you two, it's time we get started." They looked up at me, startled that I'd finally begin. They had been sitting there for the past half hour after all. "We'll start with something easy. Weiss, focus on Ruby. Make sure to bathe the area in your energy just like you do normally. Do not force the energy out like with your semblance. Instead, just let it flow from you in waves like I taught you. I will be placing a sensory deprivation seal on you so you can not hear, see, or smell anything around you. Remember to continue breathing as you let out your energy. You'll be feeling for Ruby's emotions so everytime you feel something, make sure to say it out loud." Nodding her head,I place the seal on her and she begins by announcing Ruby's nervousness, which she nods to sheepishly. Feeling that it is time to test her perceptiveness, I begin to whistle softly. Ruby has only enough time to ask what I am doing before she is tackled by her dog, Zwei. It takes Weiss several moments before she is calling out confusion followed by surprise and joy. Nodding his head to the other girl, Zwei moves to tackle her just as I remove the seal. Her first feeling as the spell is lifted is a dog slobbering on her face. After the dog grows tired of sharing its love, it moves to sit in Sentaro's lap, definitely not because I give the best ear scratches. Sure. Looking up, I see Ruby staring down at her dog as though one would while speaking to a fellow. Speaking, I interrupt her focus with "So, is it all what we assume to be floating around in there? "Food Food food Food Sleep, food?"" She looked at me shocked at that before saying it was all about Frisbees and bones. I decided to answer the unasked question. "You have already bridged the gap to Telepathy. Empathetic Reach is used to gauge another's emotions, though it is best used in combat. In a battle between two equals, it is oftentimes better to know the temperament of your opponent. If you can throw your opponent off balance, you should always attempt to do so. Besides, Empathetic Reach is also used in illusion detection. Illusions do not have emotions, even if their caster does." Letting them practice this with each other, I think back to a month ago, thinking of just how useful this skill has been for me.

Flashback-1 Month Ago

I had just left Glynda to her task of repairing the damaged city, returning to the candy shop that I had left. Releasing my grip on the sword as I knock on the metal plated defenses, they slowly recede before I head back in. Walking past the aisles, the clerk is motioning for me to join him in the back. Following him, I am led into a small room with a low table. Sitting cross legged, Ibegin to dispel the breastplate and leggings of my armor, leaving only the greaves, gauntlets, and mask behind. The haze that soon forms filters into the remaining armor creating a more dense metal alloy. The clerk left, soon returning with tea which was generously accepted by myself. Feeling a sound barrier forming around the room as the man sat down to the side, his boss? Seemed to enter the room. I mean, I assume this is his boss since all that is left in the building is a cat with highly intelligent thought patterns. Sipping at the tea through the mask, I note the slight application of nightshade. Too low a dose to be lethal, but still high enough to incapacitate me if I didn't already have an immunity to the poison. Returning the cup to the table, I chuckle, before congratulating the clerk for his resourcefulness. "I would applaud you if this was under different terms, but I'll digress on this. A low enough dose of nightshade that I'd be left immobile and hacking blood, but not dead. Assumably this was done with the assumption that you have a different method of killing me, one that cannot be so easily traced as the , I have built up quite the resistance to nightshade over the centuries." I turn my gaze from the clerk to their boss, seeing the critical eye that is now staring at me from over a hand fan. As he tips his bucket hat to my stare, it finally clicks for me where I've seen this before.

Actually clapping, I laugh out. Looking over at the clerk, it seems to ring for me as well, only feeding into more hysterical laughter. By now, they are both looking at me as if I'd just lost my sanity. To think I'd find someone that had the gall to sneak through the barrier and mimic the look of anime characters. Finally calming down, I rest my head on a hand, as I catch my breath. "You have no idea how much I needed that. Thank you for making me laugh so hard. But, onto the main point at hand. Why is a Kisuke Urahara cosplayer sneaking his way through the barrier and setting up shop here in Vale? I mean, I give you props for the outfit, but no one actually wears that anymore. Ah, please don't try to deny it. Anyone who knows that old anime and can get through my barrier is either as old as I am or is a weeaboo with a death wish." The mirth in me dies as he asks both what a cosplayer is and how I know his name. My glare, once full of mirth, turns deadly as I turn to stare at the Tessai cosplayer. I begin to gaze into his mind, looking through his emotions and history. Soon, I come upon the truth. As the man falls to the side, clutching his head and foam falling from his mouth, I turn back to the man who isn't actually cosplaying. No longer are my eyes visible as my mask slowly grew till it covered my head. My armor reacting to my rage as I look upon a man that should not be real. "How do you exist? Bleach is an anime, nothing more. You are only a few hundred years old so how? Why are you in my world Kisuke Urahara?
