Anyway, since I seem to be using a lot of different formatting for when my Characters are talking, I thought that I would add a small key at the beginning of this chapter to explain what they mean...

This is "character talking"

This is "Shadow talking". The italics represent that she doesn't have a voice, and when she's using technology to speak for her.

This is 'characters thinking'.

This is "Text in a book" or "A phone call"

This is "character speaking while they're using some kind of power, speaking during a flashback, and/or experiencing a certain emotion"

Shadow turned around, to see a silver haired boy running towards her. He skidded to a stop, and he started to look around. "I could swear that I saw Mew here, just now!" He cried. "Did you see it? A tiny pink Pokemon? It was floating really close to you!"

Shadow shook her head.

"Oh... I could swear I-..." The boy was silent, for a few seconds, before he spoke, again. "My name is Damian. I'm an aspiring Pokemon Trainer! And you are?"

Shadow pointed at her throat, and she made an 'X', with her hands, over her throat.

"You can't speak?!" Damian yelled.

Shadow nodded her head, before she picked a stick up, and she used it on a loose pile of dirt, to draw an arrow that was pointing towards her, and to write her name.

"Your name is Shadow?" Damian asked her, and she nodded her head. "Well, Shadow, you came to Telnor Town at the perfect time! The Augur - the greatest man in the world, of course - is coming today! You know who the Augur is, right?"

Shadow shook her head.

"How could you not?!" Damian yelled. "Have you been living under a rock?"

"Do I look like I have been living under a rock?!" Shadow was twitching, it wasn't her fault that she looked like this!

"He's the guy who protects the region!" Damian continued to rant. "He's my biggest hero! The mayor, and the townsfolk have been preparing ever since this morning. I'm excited! I was just running errands before he arrives! Why don't you help us out? We're assigning jobs in the Town Hall! You know, like cleaning and so on."

Damian left, leaving Shadow on her own, and she huffed. Did this boy really think that she was here to help them get the Town ready for this 'Augur's visit?! And why couldn't he see that she wasn't in the greatest shape, and that she needed to go to somewhere that could help her?! She sighed, and she started to make her way through the town, trying to find something that could help her, or something that could trigger a memory that would allow her to remember something that could help her.

She blinked when she saw the blurry form of a building with a red roof...

'That building... Could it be?'

"A building with a red roof on it is a Pokemon Centre, they heal your Pokemon and some of them have a Pokemart inside of them... In some regions, the Pokemarts are buildings with blue roof, but in Torren, the Pokemon Centres share their buildings with the Pokemarts."

Shadow blinked, and she tilted her head... That was another memory, but who was the owner of the voice that was talking to her? She sighed, and she shook her head as she started to walk towards the building, hoping that she could find something, or someone, that could help her.

Shadow smiled as she stepped out of the Pokemon Centre, the Nurse Joy had been so nice to her. The motherly nurse had immediately ushered Shadow into a shower, when she saw her, and then, she had helped Shadow tame her matted hair... She did have to cut off what she couldn't save, which meant that Shadow's hair reached her elbows now, but it was clean now. It also meant that she had found out that she had silver streaks in her hair. Silver streaks that had been revealed when the dirt was washed out of her hair.

She started to hum as she walked down a path, with a smile on her face. It was so nice to be able to see without everything being blurry around her, thanks to the prescription glasses that she was wearing. The Pokemon Centre had this really cool machine that produced replacement prescription glasses and contact lenses for the trainers that lost them. All that it needed was Shadow's prescription, and it was off.

But Shadow soon lost the smile on her face, the nurse had been horrified when she learned about where Shadow had come from, and the fact that she couldn't talk... The only things that Shadow could do at this point was to read and write... Everything else was gone, her age, her real name, and her family... Shadow didn't remember any of it... But the nurse had been able to do something to help heal her throat... The nurse had given her some pretty strong antibiotics, with strict instructions, on when she needed to take them, and how much one dose of them was.

But that wasn't the only thing that she had given to Shadow. She pulled out the item that the nurse had given to her, it was an item that looked like what the nurse had called a mobile phone, with something that she had called a 'Text to speech' application... Shadow had quickly learned how to use it, and she couldn't stop the smile that had appeared on her face... She could speak again!

The cheerful female had been allowed to choose a new outfit from the clothes in the Pokemon Centre's storage before she left, and after the nurse had given her a check up and everything that a travelling female trainer needed, and she smiled as she snuggled into the fluffy collar of her sweater.

Shadow was wearing a full sleeved, black, fluffy sweater dress, that went to her knees, with a turtleneck collar over a new pair of black leggings, some fluffy black socks, and a pair of comfortable black hiking boots, with white laces, but it was what she had been on her way out of the storage room that had made Shadow stop and stare...

It was a white coat, one that would reach her knees if she wore it, the hood of it had black fluff around it, and attached to the coat, via the shoulders, was a long cloak that nearly completely covered her body... She had reached out for it, and she put it on, pulling the hood up and over her head... It was comfortable, and it made her feel safe... The cultists couldn't find her if no one could see her face... She didn't want to take it off.

And then, she had found something even more precious in one of the storage bins... It was a tattered red scarf, and the nametag on it was ruined... But it was her scarf... She knew that it was her's the moment that she picked it up, it had been a gift from him... Her best friend. She started to cry and she held it close to her chest. She remembered now, a red scarf was one of the signature clothing items of his family... That was what the voice was trying to tell her!

She didn't know how it got here, but to hold it again, to wear it again... It soothed the fear in her heart... The ragged ends of the scarf ended at her knees after she had wrapped it around her neck, a few times, when she put it on...

Shadow smiled as she continued to walk down the path, it was time for her to visit the Town Hall... She needed more information about what was going on, and it seemed that the best place to get that information was to visit a place where she could listen to people talk, and where she could ask them questions.

But why did she have a bad feeling about the Second Augur?
