Serena finally got enough votes to become Kalos Queen. It was really close, but she did it. She starred at the audience in surprise as they all cheered for her.
"Congratulations Serena! You are our now Kalos Queen!" the announcer shouted.
The crowd cheered.
Aria smiled. "Congrats!" She then gave a serious look. "Just don't get too comfortable. I'm not going to keep the title!"
Serena smiled. "Great! I would've hated if this was it!"
Aira and Serena shook hands and the crowd roared.
Serena has really come to respect Aira from her first travel around Kalos. She never expected to have ever beat her, but she did. It was nice seeing her again, and how much she's changed from last time she's saw Aira.
After she came out of the building, May, Drew, Dawn, and Ash popped up.
Serena gave a surprised look. "Huh? You… you all came?"
"Of course!" May shouted.
"We knew how important this was for you, and so came to cheer you on and have fun afterwards, whether you won or lost," Dawn said.
"But we were confident you'd win! Afterall, we went around and asked everyone we knew to watch and support you!" Ash said.
Serena looked away and smiled. "I see… Thank you." It was touching to her that even when all of them were so busy with other things, they did so much to support her.
May smiled. "Don't mention it!"
"Yeah, that's what's friends are for, right?" Ash said.
Serena looked down with a smiled.
Dawn put her hands on her shoulders. "Serena, we have a surprise for you! Come on!"
"Huh? Oh, okay!"
They all ran towards a pokecenter. When they went inside, there was a lot of decorations, food, music playing, and lots of people.
A bunch of people shouted, "Congratulations!" as they walked in.
"Serena smiled. "Thank you so much, everyone!"
Shanna ran up to her. "Serena!"
"Shanna! It's so good to see you!"
"It's good to see you too! Congrats on your victory! Even though I wanted to be Kalos Queen, I'm glad you defeated Aria!"
"Thanks Shanna. I do wish that we both could've been Kalos Queens…"
Shanna gave a confident smile. "Well, I'm not stepping out now! I'm defiantly taking that title away from you when I get the chance!"
Serena smirked. "We'll see about that!"
They both laughed, then chatted some more.
Ash and Dawn had a blast meeting with everyone they met on their journeys, told some stories about what they all did together, ate, and everyone played games with each other.
Serena had a nice time meeting with everyone again and meeting people for the first time. It was nice to have such a big support group. After all that's happened, she isn't stressed at all about Ash not returning her feelings. She's just grateful to have him as a friend, and to have a bunch of wonderful friends in general. She still would've rather have Ash retuned her feelings, but she's finding a lot of happiness with just being his friend and is real hopeful that someday, she'll find a guy that'll truly love her like her friends found. But right now, she is happy walking the same path with her wonderful pokemon and having such great support with the friends she made along the way. Even when she doesn't know what to expect next, she is ready to tackle it on now.
It quickly became late, and everyone slowly said their goodbyes and left.
Ash patted his belly. "Man, do Brock, Clemont, and Mallow make a great cooking team!"
Dawn smiled. "I'll say!" She then gave a serious look. "I'm really glad… everything worked out in the end."
Ash laughed. "Of course it did! What could've gone wrong with the party?"
"Not that!" Dawn gave a serious look. "I mean… with Serena and me being friends despite us becoming a couple."
"Oh." Ash then smiled. "I'm glad too. I would've hated if I ruined all of our friendship with her if we got together."
Dawn gave him a serious look. "It really wouldn't be you're fault, babe… You didn't really know how she felt."
"True… but I did come over and confessed to you."
Dawn smirked. "So? I didn't have to confess back."
Ash wrapped an arm around her. "Well, I'm really that you did."
Dawn closed her eyes as she relaxed against Ash and smiled. "And I'm real glad you came and told me you loved me."
They both locked eyes and moved their faces towards each other.
"Hey Ash! We gotta hurry to the airport! We don't want to miss our plane!" Goh shouted.
"Oh right! I have to hurry to catch my plane as well," Dawn said.
They all rushed to the airport. The plane for Ash and Goh was just landing and passengers were getting ready to go.
Goh went and collected his stuff to get ready to board the plane and Ash said he'll met up with him soon.
Ash and Dawn held onto each other's hands as they gazed into each other's eyes.
"It was nice seeing you again!" Ash said.
"Yeah… I wished we could have more time together," Dawn said.
Ash held a tighter grip on her hands. "I know…"
"The flight leaving for Vermilion City is leaving in three minutes…" a voice overhead said.
"Oh no! I gotta go! I'll talk to later!" Ash gave Dawn a quick kiss on the lips. "Love you, bye!"
"Love you more! Goodbye!"
Ash turned around. "There's no way you love me more than I do!"
Dawn crossed her arms. "Well, I find that hard to believe…"
"Well…"
"One minute until departure for the flight for Vermilion City…"
"Ahhh! We'll continue this later!" Ash ran off as he quickly waved to her.
Dawn smiled and waved. She then frowned realizing that once they've gotten together as a couple, they've had no time together unless it involved them worrying about something else. Now that Serena has accomplished her dream and seems fine with them dating now, Dawn figures it's time for her and Ash to enjoy some time together. The plane was coming in for Dawn to head back to Harthome city and thus resume her pokemodling. As she walked by, she bumped into May and Drew. "Oh, hey you two!"
"Hey Dawn! It was great to see you face to face again, even if it was for a short while," May said.
"Yeah, I'm glad we got some time to see each other, even it was short," Dawn said.
"Same…"
An announcement was shortly made about Dawn's flight leaving in five minutes.
"Well, I better get going! Talk to you soon!" Dawn said.
"Alright, sounds good! Bye, Dawn!" May said.
"See yea, Dawn," Drew said.
They all waved to each other as Dawn boarded the plane. As the plane took off, she stared at them and frowned. May helped Dawn so much, especially with helping Serena understand about what happened with her and Ash. There was still guilt from when she took away from her spending what little time she had with Drew to help her. "There must be something I could do…" she wondered. Then she remembered what Ash's friends talked about their own region at the party and tried to figure out something fun from there to spend some time together for them. Suddenly, she got a call from Ash.
"Hey, don't think I forgot!" Ash shouted.
Goh was heard saying, "you just said you forgot something…"
"W-what? I don't know what you're talking about…"
"… What are you talking about, Ash?" Dawn questioned.
"I know I definitely love you so much, it'd be impossible to surpass me for how much I love you!"
Goh could be heard groaning.
Dawn giggled. "Really? Because I can't see anyone's to surpass me in how I feel about you!"
"Well, I need to… go to the toilet," Goh said.
Dawn and Ash continued to talk to each other on the phone.
Dawn realized in the middle of their conversation that she also needed to plan time to see him as well. She tried to think of the best time off at first and wondered what they should do. She also had to somehow get May and Drew to have some time off together, without them knowing about what she has planned. What also slowed the process down was that she also had to think of dresses for pokemodeling, had to focus on staged contest battles with other ribbon cup winners, and had interviews and autographs to do as well. But a wonderful idea hit Dawn. She also would like to spend some time with May and Drew in person, and she was sure Ash would as well. And she finally figured out were she'd like to take everyone. Now all that was left to do was find a perfect time to get everyone together, but after some conversations and convincing, she was able to set everything up.
