Chapter 9: Grow up
The boys return to the Casagrande Apartments to return the necklace to Ronnie Anne. However, Clyde notices that the necklace looks different before realizing that on their way to the mall, he read about a stolen necklace that looks like Ronnie Anne's necklace but have the city's initials instead of Ronnie Anne's initials. Soon, Ronnie Anne came in and thanked the boys for bringing her necklace back before rewarding them with kisses, which made Lincoln blush and fell in love. Clyde then snapped him out of it before telling them that Victor gives them the stolen necklace so they can get into trouble, causing Lincoln to start panicking as he tries to think of something. However, it was too late because Ronnie returns to the boys and slapped Lincoln on the cheeks saying that this is not her necklace. Lincoln then explains by telling her that a guy named Victor Hugo stole her necklace and then gives them the stolen one instead. Ronnie Anne then gets mad and ask how they knew this with her family watching them, causing Lincoln to start sweating and said that just like Ace Savvy, he never failed to solve a mystery. Ronnie Anne's aunt Frida then asked Lincoln isn't he a bit too old for Ace Savvy because Ace Savvy is for kids. Lincoln and Clyde then nervously defended themselves by saying that they are men no matter what they do. Ronnie then have enough and told the boys to get what she says into their heads.
Ronnie Anne then told the boys that before she moved in with her family, she used to pick on Lincoln. But now she's mature and all the childish things she has done in the past are behind her. She then sternly advised the boys to stop it with the Ace Savvy nonsense and grow up, otherwise, they will get constantly bullied. After Ronnie Anne left the boys flabbergasted, her Abuela told the boys that Ronnie Anne is right about them not acting like men before telling them that they are lucky that the museum is giving a reward for those who returns the necklace, causing the boys to hang their head in shame and say yes ma'am to Abuela before leaving. Lincoln then look back to the Casagrande family who all gives him a disappointed look before telling Lori to that they should go home.
