Lucy felt light as she ran through the cherry blossom trees, swerving between their low full branches. As she ran, her bare feet tickled at the fresh green grass she was on top of. She didn't know why she was running but she knew it wasn't out of fear. Loose cherry blossoms caught her attention, some catching in her loose hair and clothing, stopping she spun around in a circle and looked up at the pale blue sky adorned with fluffy white clouds. The golden sun was shining bouncing off her pale skin which tingled under the warmth of the rays.
This was her favourite weather, it always reminded her of spring time with her mother when she was little. They always used to visit the beach and splash around in the ocean, she even remembered her father joining in with them but that was over now and she was all alone.
She shook her head at the lost memories and instead focused on the warm feeling bubbling inside her stomach. She placed her hand over her stomach and vomited, but instead of the usual chunky green stuff that came out of her after a hard night out partying, a flurry of blue butterflies flew out of her mouth. Instead of freaking out she giggled and dropped to the floor. One or two butterflies stuck around and sat on her face or arm gently flapping their beautiful intricate wings. She held up a finger and inspected the elegant creature. Her eyes traced the delicate black detailing around the wing and she giggled when it flew away. She lay her head in the soft grass which was littered with pink petals.
Her arms came up over her head stretching them quickly and laced her hands through her long blond hair, looking down, she straightened the outfit she woke up wearing. It was a midnight blue flowy dress made from something that felt like silk, it was decorated with her favourite constellations and stars. She smiled wide a sighed in relief, she felt so free and happy, she had to admit it had been a while since she had been this calm. Lucy tried to think about what had stopped her from feeling that way. Why was she in so much… pain.
She tried to shake the thought that something was wrong but a panic began to arise, she quickly stood noticing the sky was starting to turn black, the cherry blossom trees previously flowing around her decayed before her eyes. She felt tears running down her face, taking a finger to them she screamed out in horror when blood now adorned her fingertips. She keeled over grabbing her stomach in pain, she felt herself crumbling. She didn't want this to be her last moments, she'd never get to see her friends again. She had let down all her zodiac spirits and her mother. HER MOTHER! If she was going to see her mother in the afterlife, she wouldn't be able to face her, she hadn't been able to complete her mothers work in time. She cried harder; she was a disappointment.
Just when she thought she was about to disappear, small hands reached out and placed themselves on her shoulders. Lucy looked up; tears blurred her vision but she recognised the little girl anyway. She blinked the salty drops away and sniffled.
The little girl before her was wearing the same as her but it was so much smaller her bare feet wiggling as the grass below tickled her. It was her younger self. Young Lucy opened her mouth to speak and with a smile retracted her hand, crossing her arms behind her back, "It's going to be okay Lucy. You won't be alone anymore!" the little girl spoke cheerily, instantly changing the mood.
Soon, Lucy no longer felt pain in her stomach and was now waiting for the little girl to elaborate but she spoke no more and instead nodded her head backwards indicating for her to follow. The young girl then took off in a sprint in the direction she motioned to. Lucy quickly got up and followed after the girl. Now having to swerve the empty twig branches that replaced the once blooming cherry blossom trees. She followed the girl until she met the stairs of an imposing stone building which had cracks all over it, moss enveloped the roof and chased up the walls of the building. She looked down at young Lucy who offered a tiny hand.
Lucy was apprehensive but took the hand, the little girls arms raised high above her head holding Lucy's. Lucy felt bad but young Lucy didn't complain and instead started walking up the steps. Lucy inspected the building as they walked; she found the building vaguely familiar but couldn't think where from. When they finally reached the entrance, the little girl let go of Lucy's hand. She turned to look down to find out why but young Lucy was gone. Looking all around her confused.
She would have gone back down the steps if it wasn't for the sudden light that had appeared from inside the building. She chewed her lips unsure of what to do next, her heart was beating fast and showed no signs of slowing. Deep down she felt she had to go to it. Taking a deep breath in she walked through the doorless entrance.
Looking up to the second floor, she saw the source of the light, an orb.
The orb was bright but as she walked up the stairs closer to it, it dimmed revealing its true appearance. It was white with yellow bits blending through changing constantly she thought maybe it was a representation of herself but as she circled the orb, she saw half of the orb was pink with black flickering through. The black and white sides blended harmoniously; she felt a smile start to prick at her lips as she couldn't help but think the two sides played with each other. Lucy's brow furrowed as she saw a flash of blue appear but disappeared just as sudden.
She reached out to take it with her shaky slim fingers and grabbed it, she pulled it to her chest feeling her heartbeat calming and warmth filling her heart and her eyes closed letting the warmth fully engulf her. She melted away into nothing and sighed happily. This was the best she had felt in a long time.
She was quickly interrupted when she heard a beeping enter her ears, she felt herself being pulled away from her bliss. No! She wanted to stay. She wanted to stay here embracing the warmth. The beeping got louder and louder as she was pulled further away from that warmth. She started squirming and felt a sharp pain in her hand. Her eyes shot open.
She was lying in what looked like a hospital room. The tiles of the ceiling were pristine and clean. Blinking slowly and focusing on her breathing, remembering how heavy her chest felt before she fainted, thankfully she was feeling a lot better. In the recent weeks, she had felt overwhelmingly sick but believed it was just the flu.
With her body still aching, Lucy sat up in the bed, looking down at her hand she saw there was a tube connected to an IV bag hanging from a heart rate monitor. She studied the room and saw it was completely empty. Now aware of how much of a vulnerable situation she was in. She was stuck, sick, surrounded by people she didn't even know she could trust.
A slight panic beginning to arise. While she seemed to be unharmed, she didn't know where her clothes, belongings or keys were and the last thing she remembered was arriving at Fairy Tails' doors. She had been on her way to Fairy Tail to find someone but hadn't expected the suddenness her illness took.
Quickly getting up from her bed she grabbed the IV tube out of her arm, feeling a subtle pain, she ignored it and all the other pain that was quickly returning. Instead, she walked to the cupboards and rummaged through them in hopes of finding her keys. When she couldn't find them, she took a deep breath.
She could feel her spirits which meant they were nearby so she wasn't going to panic too much. Beginning to rummage through the shelves nearby, she realised she wouldn't be able to summon any of her spirits because of the amount of power it took up. But before she could continue her search, the door to the room opened, startling her.
"Stupid girl! What do you think you're doing?" An old pink haired woman shouted out angrily, quickly racing forward.
Wincing, "Where am I?" Lucy let out through gritted teeth. The pain was starting to get to her. She held onto the shelf next to her.
She watched as the old woman rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, "Fairy Tail."
Lucy nodded, at least she knew where she was, "I can't find any of my possessions." She said, her knees weakening. Her grip was starting to weaken and she could feel herself slipping.
The old woman shook her head and sighed, "One second…" she said quietly and then turned to the door again. Lucy winced again and leaned heavily onto the shelf. The woman then screamed out, "MIRAJANE, GET OVER HERE AND DEAL WITH THIS RIGHT NOW!" Lucy's eyes widened, she's pretty sure she recognised that name.
She then watched as the old woman moved forward to help her take a seat, her knees almost buckling. "You really shouldn't be on your feet." She spoke out grumpily. Then a platinum blonde woman quickly ran in, carefully shutting the door behind her.
Lucy now recognised the woman, she was Mirajane of Fairy Tail. "Hello, what can I help you with?" She asked the old woman politely.
The old woman stepped away, "The young lady is looking for her stuff."
Mirajane turned to Lucy, "Oh! I apologise perhaps I should have left it in a more obvious place," Walking towards the bedside table, "I'm Mirajane by the way, just call me Mira." Opening the top drawer, she continued, "I put everything in here for you."
Lucy looked in the drawer and saw her bag and keys, sighing in relief, she took her keys in her hands and felt the light jingle of her spirits trying to comfort her. Being sick she couldn't even hear them speaking to her like they usually did.
Lucy was apprehensive, watching how the two women in the room quietly spoke to one another. Opening her mouth to speak again, she realised her mouth was very dry. Swallowing hard, she spoke out, "Are you a doctor?" This caught the attention of both women in the room.
This question was aimed at the older woman who cleared her throat and nodded, "Yes, I am. My name is Porlyusica. You are lucky to be awake right now dear."
Lucy's heart pounded, "What? I thought this was just some sort of flu!" she asked sitting up.
Porlyusica exchanged looks with Mirajane, Lucy frowned confused, before she could question them again, Mirajane spoke again, "I will leave the two of you to discuss things."
Opening the door to leave, "Let me know if there is anything you need." Mira asked before leaving Porlyusica and Lucy in silence.
Lucy cleared her throat, "Please may I get a glass of water?" she asked being unable to take the dry mouth any longer.
Porlyusica nodded walking to the sink to get her some. Lucy swallowed; examining the older woman, she noted that she had pink hair tied into a bun and secured with a large crescent moon pin. Pink hair was something she would have found weird but having been on the road for so long it meant she interacted with a whole flurry of people and pink hair became less strange. The woman seemed to be quite serious, her mouth pulled into a frown, permanent wrinkles to match of course. She had red tinted eyes and a beauty mark below the left side of her mouth. Her crimson-coloured cape covered the rest of her clothing, it had a wide collar decorated by massive Dragon horn-like decorations protruding outwards. Certainly unique.
The woman seemed harmless and since she was at Fairy Tail, then she should be okay. That is of course if everything her mother wrote was true.
Returning with a cup in her hand, "Here. Drink it slowly" Porlyusica quietly spoke out.
Lucy quickly gulped a good amount down her throat, the cold satisfying her, she also hadn't realised how warm she had gotten. Possibly a fever she thought. Lucy placed the cup on the bedside table.
Lucy waited, if something was seriously wrong with her, she didn't know what she would do. Clearing her throat, she started to speak, "So, what is wrong with me?" she asked pensively.
Porlyusica sighed and grabbed a seat pulling it up to Lucy's bed. Lucy's heart dropped; this couldn't be good. Her heart fluttered and butterflies attacked her stomach.
Porlyusica looked at her, her face softened, "My dear, don't stress, that will make things worse." She made sure to look Lucy in the eye. Lucy nodded but her heart continued to beat fast, she wasn't ready to die young.
Porlyusica continued, "Alright well, I believe I should learn your name." She looked at Lucy waiting for her response.
"Lucy."
Porlyusica nodded, "Okay Lucy. First, I need you to tell me if you are still in any pain." She began to write down notes on a clipboard.
Lucy bit her lip, not sure where to start. She nodded and spoke, "Yes, I am and I have been for a while. I thought it was the flu but now I guess it's something else…" she trailed off.
She watched as Porlyusica paused her writing to look up at her, "Where is the pain located and what level?"
Lucy gulped, "Uhm it's kind of everywhere and the pain level is… high."
Porlyusica raised a brow slightly, she paused and thought for a second before speaking again, "I see, have you ever suffered from magic deficiency Lucy?" She watched for Lucy's reaction.
Lucy thought for a second before it finally hit her. This pain she has experienced before, when she was just a bit younger and training with her spirits. She almost sighed in relief, as she knew magic deficiency could be fixed.
However, she quickly stopped her self-reassurance remembering she had taken many naps and breaks which should have given her enough time to heal her. So, was there something else causing her to be magic deficient?
Shaking her head, she answered, "If that's what you think it is, you might be right. This is the exact same pain I felt then." Porlyusica nodded and wrote some notes.
Lucy looked to Porlyusica again.
"I believe it is magic deficiency you are currently dealing with." Porlyusica said quietly and frowned.
Lucy gulped hard, her heart flipped, "Doctor… is that all? What is causing all this?" She asked unsure as to whether she actually wanted to find out but waited.
Porlyusica put the clipboard and pen she was using down on the bed, clearing her throat "Lucy, truthfully…"
Lucy gulped nervously.
"…I don't know what's wrong with you."
Porlyusica watched as Lucy went completely still.
Lucy furiously exclaimed, "What?"
Porlyusica rolled her eyes and spoke again, "I understand you're frustrated but so am I, my services don't come cheap. But because of that stupid old man I am here for free."
Lucy almost exclaimed in fury but Porlyusica continued, "Before you get angry at me, just know that I am one of the best Doctors in Magnolia. So, if anyone can figure out what's going on with you, it's me." she finished.
Lucy was astonished at how rude this woman was being to her, but with the pain that was starting to come back she found herself not caring as much as she normally would, "So what am I supposed to do, can you figure out what's wrong with me?"
Porlyusica sighed, "Well I think I will need to ask many more questions before I can determine that."
Lucy bit her lip, could she really trust this woman? So far Porlyusica seemed to be telling the truth, especially since she was so honest about how she didn't volunteer herself to be there. Lucy needed to know what was wrong with her, how would she ever continue on with her current condition plus not everybody was out to get her like her father made her believe they were.
Finally, she responded, "Fine… what exactly do you need to know?"
Porlyusica thought for a second, "Do you have any idea of what could have caused this?"
Lucy thought hard, she hadn't done or interacted with anything or anyone that could cause such a magic deficit. Shaking her head, Porlyusica wrote that down.
"When did the first symptoms appear?" she asked
Lucy thought back to the last couple months. The first time she felt this heaviness was two months ago, she had just left Hargeon. At first, she thought it was the unease of leaving yet another city. Then as she continued her travels, her condition got worse and worse. Her health constantly delaying her arrival at Fairy Tail. She had visited pharmacists along the way but all of them told her she simply had the flu. Lucy finally answered, "I guess two months?" She said unsure of herself.
"Hmm, can I ask you something?" Porlyusica asked.
"…sure." Lucy nervously nodded.
Leaning over and moving some of Lucy's hair revealing two faded circular marks on the juncture between her neck and shoulders. "Where did you get this from?" She asked.
Lucy blushed putting a hand to her neck, "That… why do need to know about that?" She could remember exactly where she received the mark from but was far too embarrassed to speak about it.
Porlyusica looked at her confused, "It's just that I am sensing something strange with this bite mark, perhaps you were poisoned by whatever it was that bit you."
Lucy sighed and answered, "Well, I got this from a guy…"
Porlyusica scrunched her brows together clearly confused, "Someone bit you?"
Lucy blushed, "Yes?" She answered unsure of herself.
"Why on earth-" Porlyusica tried to ask, quickly being interrupted by Lucy.
"It's just a love-bite!"
"A love-bite?" Porlyusica had put her pen down, eagerly awaiting an answer.
"Can we move past this already?" Clearing her throat, she watched as Porlyusica nodded, "I mean I did think it was weird how it didn't fade after a couple of days." Lucy continued, poking at her scar.
Porlyusica probed at the scar again, "When did you get this?"
Lucy's eyes widened, "Two months ago! Is this related to my illness?" She asked suddenly.
Porlyusica's eyes widened, "Oh my, perhaps... Who gave this to you?"
Lucy felt her stomach flutter, she wasn't sure how helpful she was going to be considering she had met the stranger that same day she received the bite and he was gone just as quickly as they met. "If I'm being honest with you, I… uhm… didn't learn much about him." She felt a blush invade her cheeks as she watched Porlyusica raise her head and raise a brow.
"So, this was a stranger?" she asked.
Lucy nodded embarrassed. Porlyusica gave a confused look but shook her head, Lucy guessed she wasn't aware of one-night stands and felt even more embarrassed when Porlyusica spoke again, "Was he a mage?"
Lucy nodded, "He was a fire mage from what I could tell."
Porlyusica nodded, "Was there anything particularly different about him? Because I can't imagine a mage biting another mage could cause such a lack in magic deficiency." She looked at Lucy who bit her lip.
Lucy shook her head, "No… Well I could've sworn his eyes changed colour." Porlyusica nodded.
"Unfortunately, that doesn't help me find out what is going wrong here." Porlyusica thought for a moment. Lucy waited and watched as the older woman jotted something down. Looking up to Lucy she asked: "Do you know if he is part of any guild?"
Lucy thought hard, she remembered talking to the man's companion who told her they were part of a guild but to keep themselves safe they didn't say which one. Lucy nodded, "Yes but I don't know which one."
Porlyusica put her pen down, clearing her throat, "Do you at least know his name?" she asked clearly frustrated with the lack of answers.
Lucy blushed embarrassed again and nodded.
Porlyusica sighed in relief, "Good, there is someone in this guild who can help you find this man as long as he is registered to a guild."
"How?" Lucy questioned.
Porlyusica continued, "She has a way to access the list of registered guilds and their members." Lucy felt nervous, as far as she could remember there was 100's of guilds, it could take a while before they find him. And even then, how would she face that man again, how would she ask him about what he had done to her. She felt slight anger towards this man who put her in such a difficult position. Her heart, however, fluttered at the thought of seeing him again, the passionate experience they had, stuck with her.
Porlyusica continued unaware of Lucy's dilemma. "This is not the first time we have had to locate someone, perhaps not for this exact reason…" the latter half of her sentence was muttered quietly.
"How long will that take?" Lucy asked quietly.
Porlyusica shook her head. "I don't know."
Lucy felt conflicted, on one hand she was glad she didn't have to face that man again so soon but also annoyed she couldn't confront the man who may have caused such a big issue for her. Lucy also hated that fact that she felt excitement at the idea of seeing him again. Remembering their instant connection which lead to a passionate night, and then their disappointing parting.
She saw Porlyusica had walked away to her medicine bag and had took to fiddling with some jars of medicine. Lucy cleared her throat catching the older woman's attention, she watched as Porlyusica turned and began walking back towards the bed. Lucy grabbed the half full cup on her bedside dresser and gulped down the rest.
"So, is that all you're going to ask?" Confused as to why she had began packing her stuff up.
"Well, yes. Since we need to find that man. I can't think about hypothesising what is wrong with you until then. I can only mix some remedies to help ease your pain."
Lucy nodded disappointed, "Uhm, thanks either way." She felt so weak, she hated it. "What happens if I can't find this man?"
Porlyusica paused and with a grim look on her face, "You could die. But don't worry, I'm sure you will find him." She replied bluntly.
Lucy's heart dropped at hearing about the possibility of losing her life. At that she felt the first tear drop from her eyes. She was terrified and alone and it was all catching up to her. She wished her mother was there but she wasn't, she hadn't been for a long time.
Porlyusica had left Lucy with some instructions and remedies, she also told her to find a young woman called Levy within Fairy Tail guild. She told Lucy to give her a call when the man had been found and told her to attempt to do so only when she was feeling stronger.
Lucy simply acknowledged and thanked Mirajane when she came to give her food and help her that same day but otherwise sat quietly in the infirmary, lost in her own thoughts. She had felt so exhausted and overwhelmed with all the things she had learned and quickly fell asleep and slept until the next day.
When she woke up the next morning her body ached but it was much more bearable, the mixture made up by Porlyusica proving to be helpful. She stood and wobbled on her weak legs before properly steadying herself, looking around at the familiar empty infirmary, she decided it was time for her to find this 'Levy'. She felt a lot better and grabbed her freshly washed and ironed clothing from the shelf Mirajane placed them on. Mira had come in earlier and showed her the bathroom, giving her fresh towels.
Lucy thought deeply in the shower and felt her stomach flutter. She had remembered that she fainted in the full guildhall in front of all those random people.
She felt relieved to change out of the nightgown she was wearing. Looking in the mirror at her reflection, she had been wearing a white crop top with blue outlining and a matching blue mini skirt. She had long socks and white trainers. She placed a hand over her neck at the scar she had often looked at in the mirror curious as to why it hadn't faded. She remembered when she had received the bite it wasn't at all painful but instead pleasurable. That being one of the only reasons she tolerated the mark. Shaking her head of the steamy thoughts that began to flood her mind.
She wondered what kind of advice her mother would have given her if she was still alive. She felt herself smile and stayed there until she felt a light tear fall onto her cheek. Quickly wiping it away she sighed. Breathing deeply, she straightened her shoulders and looked at herself in the mirror. Giving herself a pep talk was something she did often, so here she went.
"Lucy, get a hold of yourself. You lost your mother when you were 7 and had to live so many years with your horrible father. You have travelled alone for years and have survived so far. You have your spirit friends by your side and they are always there for you. You can get through this now." Gently speaking to herself. Patting at her face she took a deep breath. Fixing her clothes, she left the bathroom and hooked her keys back around her hip.
She felt her heart beat faster and her body ache as she opened the infirmary door, revealing a bustling guild. She closed the door behind her and looked up to see some people watching her now. She frowned and looked around for the bar, spotting a grinning Mirajane, she took it slow and walked over the bar. She felt a bit of nausea at the strong smell of alcohol, thinking to herself it was strange how early people were drinking here.
Mirajane greeted Lucy with a great smile, "Lucy! Good to see on your feet. Please come sit down, I'll make you some breakfast." She said cheerily while serving someone their food. Lucy didn't actually remember telling Mirajane her name but smiled and nodded unbothered by it, taking a seat at the bar. She watched as Mirajane multitasked like a pro, taking orders from multiple customers, talking to the other barmaids, cleaning and cooking all at the same time. She watched in amazement as she quickly served Lucy her food. Lucy appreciated it but found she wasn't all that hungry; she was too nervous being surrounded by a bunch of people she didn't really know. Deciding to take a couple bites of the full English breakfast to be polite, however found herself eating more, the flavours satisfying her taste buds.
Finishing half the plate Lucy decided it was time to find 'Levy' so she cleared her throat in hopes of catching Mirajane's attention, it did, causing the woman to turn, "Did you want something Lucy?" She asked, still keeping an eye on the rest of the bar.
Lucy nodded, "Yes, Mirajane-"
"Please it's just Mira." She interrupted.
Lucy nodded, "Right. Mira, I was told to look for a woman called Levy. Do you know where I could find her?" Lucy asked nervously. Watching Mira nod.
"Yeah, she is over there-" Mira said pointing behind Lucy to a distant table. Lucy cringed realising she would have to walk all the way there and weave through the people in the way but Mira continued, "-I'll fetch her for you!" Lucy sighed in relief; her legs ached at the thought of walking again. She hated feeling so weak.
Weakness, her father despised it, drilling into her that she should never show it to anyone.
Her thoughts were interrupted when a short blue haired girl appeared beside her. Being so lost in her thoughts she hadn't even noticed Mira reappear.
The woman she assumed was Levy spoke, "Hi, I'm Levy. I heard you were looking for me?" She asked sitting down at the bar beside Lucy.
Lucy cleared her throat, "Hi, I'm… Lucy. I was told by Porlyusica you could help me out." Watching as Levy's brows raised curiously.
"My help? What could you possibly need my help with?" she questioned titling her head to one side.
Lucy studied the woman; Levy was quite petite with a slender build. Her shoulder-length blue hair was tied up with a colourful bandana around her head. Her hair was wavy and wild looking some locks framing her face. From their seated position Lucy could tell Levy was quite short. She wore a cute orange and white dress. Lucy noted the kind eyes Levy had and felt she could trust the little woman.
Lucy finally spoke, "I need to find someone. I heard you had a list with members of different guilds, official ones anyway." She wasn't too sure how this would work. Lucy was usually so confident in her actions but being thrown into this situation, she was struggling.
Levy looked around her and leaned in closer to Lucy putting a finger over her lips, "Shh, that's supposed to be a secret. I could get in trouble for having something like that." Her voice was lowered as she dropped her hand, staying close to Lucy.
Lucy paused, "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know… How did you get a hold of something like that?" she asked curiously, also lowering her voice.
Levy looked at her sheepishly, "I kind of hacked into the council's system,"
Lucy was a little surprised at this and was about to ask questions but Levy continued.
"-but enough about that. Who were you looking to find? All I need is a name." Lucy watched as she brought out a Lacrima phone. Lucy looked down at the rectangular device to see a search bar with a bunch of names underneath it.
Lucy cleared her throat, "Right… well, I only have his first name."
Levy shrugged, "That's alright, if it's an uncommon name it will come up with everyone with that name. Then we can narrow it down from there." Looking back at Mira who had listened to the entire conversation.
Lucy's heart pounded; she wasn't sure she was ready to find him but she had no choice. "His name is… Natsu." She admitted.
Levy had been ready to type the name but paused and looked back up in shock at Lucy, who then looked back at her confused. Levy then looked at Mira who was equally shocked.
"What?" Lucy questioned. Instead of answering both the girls quietly inspecting her not saying a word.
Lucy was starting to sweat, "Guy's… what? Is something wrong?" She asked again her heart beating incredibly fast.
Levy put the phone away and looked back at Mira, "No way." Lucy swore she could've fainted as she watched the two women bicker hearing, 'you tell her' and a 'no way' here and there.
Lucy cleared her throat, speaking loud enough to catch both their attention, "What is wrong!" coming out harsher than intended, they bounced back startled.
Shaking her head, Mira spoke, "What was the name again?" She asked nervously.
Lucy squinted suspiciously at the two, "Natsu." She said louder than before catching the attention of those close by. She was getting highly frustrated by the two and didn't care about those around her anymore.
They once again said nothing so Lucy spoke up again, "Guys, this is seriously getting annoying! Wha-"
"What are you doing here?" A gruff serious voice suddenly rang out from behind her.
She watched the reaction of the two in front of her change one looking sheepish and the other scared. Lucy then recognised the voice, her eyes widened and she turned quickly in her chair. Her mouth agape at the sudden appearance of the man she was looking for.
There he stood with his hench arms crossed looking down at her clearly annoyed. One of his pink eyebrows were raised while the rest of his face remained blank. She breathed in deep, forcing herself not to freak out. She thought she would have so much longer to prepare to see him and practice what she would say to him but now he was standing there in front of her demanding answers.
"Well?" Natsu questioned again, louder this time and it caught the attention of even more people in the guild. She glanced around as more and more people hushed to listen to the conversation. She frowned embarrassed disliking the interest people had in their conversation. She was also confused as to why Levy looked so scared.
She decided to stand getting annoyed at him looking down at her so obviously, her legs shaking as she stood. She placed a hand at the bar to support herself and walked towards him a little bit, she didn't meet his height but he was no longer making her feel so small. She then swallowed hard, "I didn't expect to see you here…" she finally said, looking at him confused.
He scrunched up his face confused, "What? But you just told them you were looking for me." He uncrossed his arms motioning to the two women behind her, hearing a quiet squeak behind her, his voice showing his frustration.
Lucy was getting irritated now, who did this man think he was? She didn't initially come in search of him, she was here for her own reasons. In fact, he seemed to be the reason she was being delayed. She crossed her arms and scowled at him, "Who do you think you are? I came to Fairy Tail with my own purpose! I'm only looking for you because I'm sick and it's your fault!" She snapped back at him.
She watched as he raised his brows surprised at her response, a small smirk on his lips. She puffed out a breath and rolled her eyes. She let go of crossed arms and looked to the side to see everyone in the guild staring opened mouthed at her.
'Oops' she thought.
She had just shouted at their guildmate, no wonder they were all so shocked. Sighing she looked back at him, "Look, can we just go to the infirmary to talk about it." She spoke softer hoping people couldn't hear them anymore. She felt the aching coming back to her now.
She watched as he thought about it and nodded, he began walking off to the infirmary. She sighed and forced herself to walk unaided, her legs screaming at her to stop and take a rest but she persevered, instead focused on what she would have to say the angry man waiting for her in infirmary. She staggered off, not even noticing the guild still hadn't returned to its normal volume or movement.

Hey! Thanks for reading, I really appreciate it. I hope you enjoyed! Thank you so so much for your lovely comments and all the favourites and follows!
Soooo, we don't know what's wrong with Lucy! I saw some of you had guessed that she was pregnant but she's not! That was what I hoped you had thought. She's currently dealing with magic deficiency but no one can figure out what is causing it, let's hope she can figure it out soon!
This chapter was completely in Lucy's POV and we learnt some stuff about her and how she feels, of course it's all vague for now but it will go into further detail later on. Natsu was a little mean here but we'll see his POV in the next chapter!
So, let me know what you guys think about this so far, do you like how Lucy is dealing with things? Are you excited for the conversation between Natsu and Lucy? And why on earth is Levy scared? Let me know in the comments! I love reading them all 3
