A few things before you read this story. 1.) The Elixer did NOT affect Cassie in the way you think, but Adam is in love with her. 2.) The last scene with Faye and Jake during the finale never happened. 3). I completely edited this first chapter.

4). A couple of things will be different and some will be what I think happened in the show because Lena would NEVER wait to help him if it was earlier seasons-which makes me think Stef had something to do with Lena telling him off when, I think, she would have AT LEAST let him and Mariana stay friends. Anyways, back to my main point, Lena changed over the course of the show, in season 1 she helped Callie, troubled teen who got arrested, and brought her into the Adams Foster house while she basically let Nick continue to go through hell with Craig abusing him? Really?-so not everything that happened in IWASMADEINAMERICA happened in this story. For example, Lena did not go to see Nick and this is NOT his last appearance. I feel like the writer's have ended Nick Statos and Nick Armstrong's story too soon on The Fosters and The Secret Circle, respectively. Louis Hunter is my favorite actor, so I will make sure he gets the recognition and storylines he deserves in both shows, so NA will come back in season 2. I will be writing this from the last appearance of Stratos and go from there. Also, only a select few of TF characters will be in this story.

5). Mariana stopped the fight between Stratos and her brother, so the latter never got hurt as bad as he did on the show.

Trigger warning; read at your own risk. May include abuse or mentions of it and past events. Takes place after Lena went to see Nick at his house, but I changed some things around to how I thought what happened in the show that was hinted and may be possible, so some scenes may have happened with different characters instead.

Takes place after season 1 of TSC.

Former couples in the circle will interact, but there are surprises as well. I hope you guys like it. If you have any questions or comments you can PM me. Please review, follow and favorite if you want to.

Enjoy! 😊❤️

Mariana Adams Foster sighed as she laid down on her bed, thinking about nothing and everything at the same time. She was worried since she got the text from Nick and didn't know if she should go to see him or not. She sighed and went downstairs to find her mom in the kitchen.

Her ex boyfriend, Nick Stratos, just texted her to meet him at his house since he said he had an idea to help save Anchor Beach Charter School. She wasn't able to because her adopted mom saw the message and made her change her number. After everything that's happened, Mariana regretted sleeping with her other ex boyfriend, Mat.

She met him last year shortly before he convinced her to go out with him until she finally gave in. He got into a high speed race on their first date, so she broke up with him for it before they got back together. The school theater wasn't able to have the play there, so Nick said that Craig let him use the warehouse. Mariana's ex boyfriend's, Mat, ex girlfriend, Zoe, told Nick that he had a good reason to break up with her because she cheated on Mat with someone else. Needless to say, he wasn't happy, saying that he doesn't like surprises and would rather be hurt than the alternative. She told him that he didn't have anything to worry about and he didn't...until he saw Mat and her kiss goodbye. He set the warehouse on fire with the letter said ex put into her bag-without me seeing it-which said that he loves her and wants to get back together. She declined when she found out because she was dating Nick at the time.

After all that he brought a gun to school-probably to use on Mat due to what he saw-but he wasn't there. Instead, he was at Mariana's house with it on him. He admitted things to her and she told him not to hurt her. He said he wouldn't before he threatened to kill himself with the gun. She managed to talk him down by telling him that she wouldn't be wearing the necklace he gave her if she didn't love him and that he still has her. He asked her if she loved Mat and she denied it. He was crying in her lap when he got arrested and was put in the mental hospital. She visited him once and made him think they were still together because she knew what he would do if she didn't. Eventually, he got out and she started to take her brother's medication which made her think Nick was there when he wasn't. She called her brother freaking out about it and she knew her brother said something to him because he was actually appeared after awhile before he and Nick got into a fight. Mariana broke it up somehow-she still wasn't sure what happened exactly-and Nick stayed away from her after that.

Shaking her head, she grabbed a drink.

"You okay?" Lena asked her daughter, walking into the kitchen.

"Just have a lot on my mind." She looked at her drink on the kitchen counter.

"A lot being Nick?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah. I know he had problems and made some bad choices, but Craig put shit into his head. I know he did." She replied, angry.

Lena sighed, wondering if there was anything she could do for her daughter.

"I know I'm partly to blame since I kissed Mat behind his back, but I think part of me was nostalgic when my life wasn't so complicated. Maybe things would have been different if Craig hadn't been so cruel."

"Who knows?" She asked, worried, putting a hand on her shoulder. 'I think we need to leave town for awhile."

"Why?"

"It will give us a break from all this drama."

She nodded. "What about mom and my siblings?"

"She would have to give them a few weeks notice, so they are staying here for awhile longer."

"That would be giving my classmates the satisfaction of winning by running me out of town, along with Craig, I'm not going to let this ruin my life."

"I know, but I don't think we have a choice." Lena said.

"I'm going out. Is that okay?"

"Of course." She replied before Mariana left the house, texting on her phone. She instantly got a reply before texting back. I REALLY need to talk to you. It's important.

The two of them stopped texting before she was in front of the house and knocked. Not hearing anything, she walked in after getting the text that told her she could come in.

Meanwhile, in Chance Harbor, Washington, Cassie Blake just set a fire in the fireplace of her living room. Sighing, she put it out and laid down on the couch. She felt weird and didn't know why. After trying to watch tv for awhile, she went to the kitchen for something to eat. Heating up some leftovers, she waited for her dinner. Grabbing a soda from the fridge, she opened it and took a sip. She went upstairs and grabbed her book of shadows, wanting to read a little of it, and found a spell that may be able to help her. She found a spell to feel magical energy before flipping to another page.

"A Balcoin/Blackwell witch is able to feel other magical energies, whether the witch is normal or a dark one. Balcoins are also able to feel their siblings' dark magic whenever it is activated." She read out loud before continuing to read her family's book. The beeping of the microwave interrupted her, so she went downstairs and grabbed a fork before going back upstairs with her food and soda. She ate, hearing something in her head.

I know I messed up, but I would take it back if I would.

Who's there? She asked in her head.

No response. She teleported to her old house in San Diego. (1) Looking around, the blond sighed as the rebuilt house that was remade after her mom died.

She went inside and walked in to the kitchen. At first, she tried to control her anger towards anyone and everyone, but now it was more difficult since she started using her power, especially her dark magic, for almost anything and everything. She decided to transform her look into something more Faye's style. Cassie was overwhelmed by everything that happened since she left this house, but now all she felt was anger towards almost anyone and everyone she knew. Diana was persistent in getting Cassie to join the circle only A MONTH after her mom died and pissed her off because of the binding ceremony, not wanting to be her sister and putting Grant above the circle when they have the Balcoins to deal with. Jake pissed her off because he acted like he was interested at first and then acted like it was nothing the next, Adam because he keeps going through every girl in the circle as if they are his own little toys to play with until he got bored or found something else. She was also pissed at herself for not being with her mom the night Amelia died, not being able to save Nick nor her grandmother. Blackwell would have shown up with or without her and he would have probably forced his way into the circle if she didn't invite him in regardless of how good an actor he was. Add Amelia into it by keeping her witch heritage a secret from her, never telling her that John Blackwell is her father and she got her dark magic from him nor that she has a half sister out there.

The only people she wasn't pissed off with was Nick and Melissa since they've never done her wrong. Nick-for little time she spent with him-was always quiet and never bothered her to do something she didn't want to do and while Melissa may have been disgusted with Cassie accidentally using dark magic to choke Adam because he can't keep secrets from his precious so called "first love"-she rolled her eyes at that since he controlled both girls before turning to Melissa. Damn manwhore-Diana about Cassie having Dark Magic, the youngest member of the circle never once blamed her for accidentally getting Nick killed.

Those two are the only ones who wasn't on Cassie's bad list. Suddenly, the house was on fire. She tried to think of a spell, but her mind was blank. The flames spread through the kitchen and around the inside of the house, surrounding her so she couldn't move in any direction. She was trapped. Blue and orange flames got stronger as Cassie got weaker, crying as smoke filled the air and she couldn't breath.
