On Planet Wisp, Tails and Wave were in a trench with the former holding practice wispon and a stormtrooper mask. Wave was using her mask to watch a structure in the distance "How sure are we your father is in there?" Tails asked. Wave turned to him "Well our spies in the capital say he's here and they've been right so far". They both sat down in the trench and Wave got on her commlink "Slinger, I've got a squad of stormtroopers in front, plus multiple cannons" "Copy that, Naka-Five. Moving to your right flank. Wave, doesn't it seem suspicious that the Empire would move your father so far from the capital?". Wave shook her head "My father has many friends. He's not just important to me. The Empire probably locked him up out here to prevent someone from attempting to do what we're about to do" "That may be true, but I'd put nothing past these Akhlut clan traitors. We're in position". Two other Wispon and G-merl appeared next to the two of them "Alright, Clan Voyance, check your fire for the captive. We're going in the front door, on my lead". The tow Wispons nodded and headed to their positions. Wave then looked to Tails who looked excited "What's with you?" "I've never used on of these before" he said holding the wispon. Wave rolled her eyes under her mask before climbing out of the trench getting spotted by stormtroopers. She saw the troopers and ignited the darksaber.
Suddenly Tails and a small army of Wispons climbed out of the trench "Forward!" they all charged except for G-merl who decided to stay in the trench. All the wispons turn crimson and they all fly towards the stricture with Tails struggling slightly. The cannons start firing on them as Sonic and Slinger charge. Rocket trooper come down to shoot them "I'll handle it" Sonic says before jumping up and cutting the jet pack of one trooper causing him to crash into the other two "Show-off!" Slinger yelled. Wave few around the cannons, destroying them with the darksaber. Tails meanwhile kept landing on the ground "This isn't as fun as I thought it would be". He accidently turned the wispon red and shot a fire ball at two troopers. A rocket trooper at the top of the structure was talking to a hologram of a large brown dingo "As you anticipated, Wave is leading the attack" "You may do away with her allies, Commander, but I want her alive" "Lord Dingo, I cannot even guarantee we can hold the tower". Dingo nodded "I know how stubborn Clan Voyance can be. That's why I've dispatched reinforcements to help you". Wave landed next to Tails and they both saw a transport arrive and drop two walkers. The Wispons all fly up and fire on the walkers Because of the distraction the turrets manage to shoot a few of them down. Wave shoots a fire ball at one of the walkers causing it to stumble back. Wave then charge forward but was hit and thrown back "Wave!" Tails yelled. He ran to her, but three jet troopers landed between them. Two fired on Tails as another went toward Wave. He stunned her before turning to Tails "Stand down, Shinobi, or she dies". Tails stopped and saw a walker coming towards them. He deactivated his lightsaber and the trooper chuckled before a fire ball hit the walker. Tails turned around and saw three new Wispons arrive led by a female wolf "Don't just stand there. Protect her!".
"It Clan Vigil" Slinger said to Sonic. The two Wispons with the wolf landed and effortlessly killed the remaining troopers as Tails charged forward and cut off the leg of the walker causing it to fall. Wave stood back up "Clan Voyance, follow me!". Tails and Sonic jumped up to the roof of the structure and saw the remaining jet troopers fly away. Wave and Slinger then came up "Where's you father?" Tails asked. Wave removed her mask "The outpost is empty. There's no one here". The three Vigil Wispons landed in front of them "This was a trap set to lure you in. Your mother received this intel, but she couldn't get word to you. The Empire was jamming all transmissions. She sent me ahead to reinforce you. I understand she's on her way". Wave stared at the wolf "Who are you?". The wolf removed her mask revealing it to be an older Whisper. Slinger turned to the Shinobi "Sonic and Tails, this is Lady Whisper the Wolf of House Vigil. Her sister, Liza, once ruled Planet Wisp. Whisper was made regent by the Shinobi before the end of the Clone War. She's still seen by many as Planet Wisp's rightful ruler". Tails stepped forward "So what happened?" "After the Empire took over, I refused to obey the Emperor and then Clan Akhlut staged a takeover". Wave stared down at the darksaber deep in thought "Your commitment to Planet Wisp's freedom if legendary, my lady. This belongs to you" she stepped forward and held out the darksaber. Whisper glanced away from the saber "I had my chance to rule, and I failed. I am not my sister". She put her mask back on and turned her back to Wave "I am not the leader you seek". She and her group entered the structure. Wave turned to Slinger "See if you can contact my mother" "Right away" he along with Sonic and Tails followed Whisper inside. Tail however then stopped and saw Wave staring out into the distance. He walked over to her "You know, your home planet is very different from mine". Wave continued to stare out "Once upon a time, these plains were covered with grass, but I never saw it. This destruction happened before I was born" "And it never grew back?". Wave sighed regretfully "Never had a chance to. This is what continues war has done to my home" "Well, maybe… Maybe this is your chance to help change things here". G-merl suddenly beeped and they all saw four Wispons flying towards them. They landed revealing them to be Claire, Max and two others. "Mother, any news?" Wave asked, "The Empire's changed their plan. They're moving your father back to the capital for a public termination".
Wave, Tails, Whisper and Slinger were now at the edge of a tall cliff watching with their masks "I don't see anything" "Just give my mum a chance". Behind them Sonic was talking to a hologram of Sally being projected by G-merl "We were hoping you could have freed him by now. What' the outlook?". Sonic sighed "The Empire is moving Wave's father to the Planet Wisp capital of Yacker. Only chance we've got for a rescue is to ambush the convoy before it gets there" "What's the status of the Imperial occupation?" "Planet Wisp is under complete lockdown. Civil war is raging". Sally looked guilty "I'm sorry. I hate to say it but sounds like the planet is lost" "Wave's father is important, not just to her, but to her people" "That's how I persuaded Cosmo to let you help. But once that's done, I need you to come back". Sonic chuckled "Oh! Having trouble overthrowing the Empire without me?" "Our team is an important asset to the Freedom Fighters". Sonic crossed his arms "An asset? Is that what we are?" "You know what I mean". Sonic sighed "Well, you know how I feel". Sally raised her eyebrows "Are we still talking about the mission?" "That depends". Sally stared at him "On what?" G-merl beeped frustratingly. This made Sally sigh "Be careful. See you soon". Sonic nodded and G-merl stopped the projection. They both walked over to the others and they all saw explosions in the distance "Yeo, that's my mum". Tails smirked "Blowing things up definitely runs in your family" "It's a specialty of ours". Wave's commlink activated "Wave, we've engaged Dingo's Imperial dogs. The prisoner convoy has changed course toward the canyon" "Then the diversion worked" Whisper said. Slinger spotted the convoy "I see them. I'm scanning a single passenger, no armour in the centre transport, the one most heavily guarded". Wave used her mask to watch it "If we attack the lead vehicle, my father's transport will fall back.
Then someone could sneak up and sabotage its controls, forcing it to stop". Slinger nodded "By then, the rest of the convoy will be too far ahead to do anything about it. So, who's going in?". Tails stood up "That sounds like a me plan" "Are you sure? You haven't exactly mastered that wispon yet. And you don't have the indigo" Wave said. Tails shrugged "Hey, I got it". G-merl beeped and Sonic patted his head "He can do it, Gem. Just be ready to jam their comms. Tails moved to position "Go easy on them" he told Wave who shook her head "No chance". Wave jumped down as the convoy past and threw a paint bomb at the front of the middle transport causing it to stop. The Imperial Wispons fired on her, but Whisper and Slinger flew down and shot them. Whisper flew to the back while Slinger used one pistol to keep up with the convoy and used the other pistol to shoot, he stayed at the front. Wave kicked a trooper off an Extreme Gear and used it to get to the front of the convoy. Straight ahead of the convoy was Sonic who ignited his lightsaber and charged forward and jumped on the lead transport with Slinger landing next to him. Tails then appeared flying behind the convoy and saw the prisoner transport fall to the back. He jumped on it without being noticed as Whisper moved to the front to help Wave. Tails climbed under the transport and cut through with his lightsaber. The transport suddenly dashed forward causing Tails to fall off, but he just manged to grab onto the back. The transport hit the one Sonic was on knocking him over and dropping his lightsaber.
Slinger flew off to give Whisper support "I'll take the two on the left" they both quickly dealt with the enemy Wispons. Sonic got his lightsaber and then entered the middle transport and was suddenly surrounded by storm troopers "Drop your weapons" "I was about to say the same thing". Whisper and Slinger suddenly saw a bunch of troopers fall out of the transport. Sonic then destroyed the controls before jumping out of the transport. Tails climbed on trop of his and jumped through the door kicking a Wispon out. He killed the two pilots and then "Are you with Wave?". He looked to the back of the transport and saw an unidentified species wearing a purple cape, green hair and large blue eyes "Yeah, I'm with her. I mean, not with her, with her. I'm… Never mind. Are you her father?". The man nodded "I'm void". Tails then heard G-merl over the commlink "A cliff? What cliff?". He looked out and saw they were heading for the edge of one. Tails ignited his lightsaber surprising Void "Are you a Shinobi?" "Let's hope so". He cut through the restraints letting Void up before giving him the Wispon "Take this, sir" "How will you get out. Trust me. I'm better off without it". The transports went over the cliff and Tails pushed Void out allowing him to fly. Tails then jumped on top of the transport and then leaped forward and grabbed onto the cliff wall. He was about to fall off, but Wave flew down and caught him "Was wondering where you were" Tails said.
Dingo was on the bridge of a Scarship docked near Yacker. His commlink activated "Captain Hawk, is there a problem with the prisoner?" "The renegades and their Shinobi allis attacked my convoy and were able to liberate Void". Dingo stroked his chin "They planned well. Withdraw all remaining forces. I'm going to deploy the weapon. Before the end, they will all kneel before the Duchess".
The group met up and Void handed the wispon back to Tails "Thank you, young Shinobi". "Father" Wave said warmly, the two stared at each other then Wave removed her mask. Void smiled "When I got word that you had returned, I did not believe it". Wave nervously smiled "And…?". Void stepped forward and hugged her "Wave, you are my daughter". Wave smiled and hugged him back "We would never leave you in the hands of the Empire". Void laughed and let go "Oh, that was fine. I meant your artwork. It's a lot better" "Better? What do you mean, better? It's great". Void humorously shrugged "It… It's getting there". Tails glanced at Sonic "I see where she gets her creative side". Void shook his head "Oh no, Master Shinobi. Wace's artistry comes from her mother. Claire knows how to destroy her enemies in so many creative ways". "We need to get moving. We're to exposed here" Whisper said. Slinger nodded and got on his commlink "Countess Voyance, we've rescued your husband. Void is free" "Then we have two victories today. Dingo's forces are in retreat". "Hold on. They're not all running. Looks like we've got an incoming Imperial transport" they heard a male voice say. They then heard Max "They've deployed a single scout walker, with no other support. It's moving into attack position" "Laughable. Destroy it" Claire said. They then heard a strange noise and Wave's eyes opened wide "No, it can't be. Max, get out of there!". The heard a noise and then silence "Mother? Max?". They then heard an explosion "What is that?" Tails said. "No" Wave said before flying towards the noise. The others quickly followed with Sonic and Void using an Extreme Gear board. Wave reached the battlefield. There were wispons, masks and black cloaks lying on the ground with ash around them. Wave was in shock "No. No". The others arrived "What happened here?" Tails asked. Whisper looked around "Where are the survivors of this battle, the wounded, the victors?" "I only see the defeated" Void said. Tails then realised what the ash was "What could do this?" "A weapon did this, a weapon created by my daughter". Wave fell to her kneed in front of a Wispon mask she recognised.
Wave started to cry; Whisper glared at her "There were rumours the Empire was working on a weapon to neutralize Wispon weapons. That it had even been tested on our people. I-I didn't believe it". Wave didn't look at her as she spoke "Not the Empire. Me. This is all my fault". Tails shook his head "Wave, you can't blame yourself for this. You tried-". Wave stood up and turned to him with tears in her eyes "Everything my father said was true, Tails! This is my work! I created the weapon that did this and because of me, the Empire is going to turn my world into a graveyard! Because of me, Wispons are going to die! My mother and brother are-" "Wave!". They all turned to a damaged transport and suddenly Max helping Claire out". A smile formed on Wave's face and ran towards them "I thought… I-" "We were caught at the edge of the weapon' range. Thanks to your warning, we made it out". Max sighed "The others weren't so lucky. G-merl suddenly beeped "He's picked up something" Sonic said. Slinger used his mask and saw a large group of Imperial Wispons "The Empire's coming back to finish the job". Tails and Sonic give the others cover as they fell back but Wave instead charged forward screaming with the darksaber.
She leaped up and cut through one of the Wispons. Slinger got behind Sonic and started firing as Whisper flew up and fought one. "Get Claire and Void out of here!" Sonic ordered Tails. Tails tried to lead them to three boards but were suddenly destroyed by fire balls. The blast knocked them back "Are you alright?" Claire asked Tails who groaned "Better than the bike". Sonic ran over to Wave who was shooting aimlessly at the Wispons "Wave! We have to leave now!". They ran to the others but were now surrounded when they saw three TIEs flying towards them. Suddenly a Wispon fighter appeared and shot them down. It then landed giving the group cover who then ran inside. Everyone ran to the cockpit except for Whisper who led Tails to the cargo hold. She opened the doors "What're you doing. The ship doesn't have any weapons". Whisper put her mask on "A Wispon is a weapon". He wispon turned crimson and jumped out. Tails sighed "This is what I get for wanting one of these" he jumped out as well and they saw two TIEs following the fighter. Whisper flew to the nearest on and climbed on it as Tails flew past and tried to land on the second one but hit the window instead "Hey" he said to the pilot. Whisper opened the TIE she was on and shot a fire ball inside before using her wispon to launch her up like a rocket. Tails climbed onto his fighter and shot fire at the wing causing it to overheat and explode. The two of them flew towards the fighter.
Dingo was showing a hologram of Mogul a screen "In this recording you will see the first test trial of the weapon used against Clan Voyance". A group of Wispons charged at a walker carrying a strange weapon. If fired beams of energy and the Wispons weapons which suddenly fired back in different coloured energy which disintegrated them. Dingo looked to Mogul "As you see, the Arc Generator's energy pulse is drawn to the different Wispon energy vials inside their weapons causing it all to release backwards. The energy then vaporizes the target all the while doing no harm to our Imperial troopers. The weapon is fully operational as promised, Grand Admiral". Mogul nodded "Effective, yes but you miss the true artistry of this weapon, Governor Dingo. It turns a weapon legendary for its power into a crippling weakness and it strikes at the very heart of your people's tradition". Dingo didn't seem phased by these words "You said the Emperor wanted this uprising dealt with quickly. This will end it" "You're different from your brother. How would Akhlut feel about you betraying your heritage?". Dingo lowered his head regretfully "He no longer feels anything. I am fulfilling his wish. For Planet Wisp to evolve" "Once your people see their sense of security turned against them do you believe they'll swear loyalty to the Empire". Dingo nodded "A Wispon without a weapon is no more than a common soldier. Fear will compel them to join the Empire" "We shall see. Of course, the weapon's range is far more limited than you promised. Or perhaps you thought I wouldn't notice?" "I only had pieces of the prototype. I've done everything I could". Mogul shook his head "You cannot make it work properly because you do not truly understand it. You ned the weapon's creator. You need Wave Voyance". Mogul cut off and an eagle Wispon walked up to Dingo "Governor, I mean no disrespect but what will stop the Empire from using the weapon on us as well?" "Loyalty, Captain. It's the only way Planet Wisp will survive. Now, find Wave Voyance".
On board the shuttle Void and Claire were catching up after being separate for so long. Max saw Wave leaning her head against the wall and he walked up to her "You told us you destroyed it" "I did. The Empire must have rebuilt it. They-". Suddenly Whisper grabbed Wave and pinned her against the wall "You're a Wispon! Why would you create such an abomination? This is the weapon of a coward" she said through gritted teeth. Tails was about to step forward, but Sonic stopped him. "I was young. It was a challenge, and I was arrogant. But when I realize the Empire tested it and actually planned to use it. I sabotaged the prototype and destroyed the plans. I thought that was the end of it, I swear to you!". After a moment Whisper released her and turned her back. Tails stepped forward "Okay, so this weapon only targets the vials in wispon, why not use another power source?". All the Wispons looked offended, Wave sighed "Tails, the vials are the only things that can power the wispons. My wispon is 500 years old. I reassembled it to my liking but the battles, the history, the blood all lives within it. And the same goes for every Wispon". Void nodded "This weapon is part of our identity. It makes us Wispons who we are" "And now it's going kill us" Whisper said glaring at Wave.
They arrived at a small camp at the side of a cliff. They exited the shuttle and there were three Wispons waiting to greet them. However, once they got close the Wispons raised their weapons "Wave! We know you built that weapon. You betrayed us all!". Tails ignited his lightsaber to stop them. Void then walked out of the shuttle "Lower your weapons! Wave did everything she could to stop this from happening. You must believe us". Claire then appeared behind him "Any attack on my daughter is an attack on Clan Voyance" she and Max both raised their weapons. Wave however threw her mask to the ground "No!" "Wave! What're you doing?" Tails asked. Wave made him lower his lightsaber "I'm prepared to take responsibility for my actions. It's true. I designed the weapon as a loyal student at the Imperial academy. The Empire is using my prototype but it's only functioning at a fraction of its capacity. At full power, it will destroy armies. So, you've got a choice to make. We can fight each other, or we can destroy this weapon once and for all". The Wispons didn't move so Whisper stepped forward "I understand your anger. In many ways, I feel the same. But Wave is right. Now is not the time for us to be divisive. She knows the most about this weapon and how to destroy it. We need her". All the Wispons lowered their weapons and headed back into the camp. Whisper turned to Wave "It's time for you to prove your loyalty not just to your family but to all of Planet Wisp".
The group were now all in the main tent "Dingo worked hard to keep the weapon a secret, so he likely has it aboard his Imperial Scarship outside of Yacker. Needless to say, it will be very well guarded" Void said. Wave had G-merl project a hologram of the city "Once we get inside that ship, we'll need two teams. One to find the weapon and one to wipe out every shred of data on it from the Imperial computer systems". Slinger then had a thought "This weapon. Is there any way it can be turned against the Empire?". Wave shook her head "I've studies regular blaster packs. The thought had crossed my mind but that-that isn't our mission. No. No, we have to destroy it" "I will lead the attack team" Claire said. "With respect, Countess. You can barely hold a pistol with you arm injured" Slinger said. Claire looked defensive "I'm just as good with my other hand" "Yes, Mother, but we'll need you for tactical support" Wave said. Claire reluctantly nodded "So be it". "If I can get to the weapon, I can make sure it's destroyed" Wave said. Whisper stepped forward "I'll get you there" "Tails and I will take G-merl to the data core" Sonic said. Wave then had G-merl show a schematic of the Scarship "Alright, let's go over our infiltration path". Slinger turned to Whisper "I'm surprised to see you so swayed by Wave. You seem to be as impressed as her as I am" "I had my doubts, Slinger but she came back to face her past and her bold initiative has impressed me. She has become a courageous leader. She reminds me of the best of who we were and could inspire us to become more than we have been of late. I will not allow her efforts to be wasted".
The group flew towards the Scarship. They quietly flew into the hanger and hid at the edge, so they weren't seen. They snuck in as no one was looking, and Wave saw the weapon inside. Slinger stood next to her "I can't help but notice the weapon's core isn't here" "Thank you, Slinger. That's helpful. Best bet, they're working on The Duchess up there" she said looking up at the hanger's command centre. Whisper stared at her "The Duchess? You named a weapon after my sister? The pacifist?" "It was a series of bad decisions, okay?". "Hold it right there!" a trooper yelled spotting them. A fire fight started in the hanger "Hold them off! Whisper and I will get to the weapon". The Wispons, Tails and Sonic ran out to deal with the troopers as Wave and Whisper ran to the centre. They saw the core "Doesn't seem so dangerous like this". Suddenly they could hear a noise "Oh, no. It's been activated". The core suddenly shocked their wispons, but only ivory coloured energy was released electrocuting them both. The fell to the ground and Dingo entered with the eagle captain both without their wispons. He kneeled down "Wave Voyance. You truly are brilliant except for thinking you could infiltrate my ship unnoticed. Sadly, as much as I would like to end your life, I need you alive. You are going to upgrade your experiment and deliver a weapon that operates at its full potential". Wave struggle to breath but removed her mask "Never!" "Let's see if I can persuade you". The captain however grabbed Dingo's shoulder "Governor, stop! This is too much. I understand using the weapon against the rebels but if she makes it more powerful how will we prevent the Empire from using it against all Wispons?". Dingo pushed him back "The Empire already has the power to destroy us all. I've seen it. Seen what they're building. The only way we survive is to join them".
Tails, Sonic and G-merl were in a control room. The two Shinobi were defending G-merl from trooper as he was erasing data from the system "Will you hurry up". G-merl beeped "Good job. Get to work. Wave, we're in. What's your status?…. Wave? Sonic, she's in trouble" "Go! G-merl and I will finish here". As Tails left a door opened and four troopers ran in "Don't move!". Sonic turned to them with his lightsaber "Really?". Tails ran into the hanger where a huge fight between the Wispons and trooper who now had Imperial walkers. Tails ran to cover where Slinger and Max were "I finished my mission. Now I have to finish yours too?" he joked. Max stared at him "The core was the easier mission!" "Will you two knock it off? Slinger told them. Tails nodded "Where's Wave" "Up there".
Dingo stood over Wave "I am impressed by your weapon, but I believe you can do better". Two troopers entered "Help me to increase the range of the weapon or she will die" he gestures to Whisper. Wave put her hand up "Stop. I'll do what you want" "No, Wave don't". Wave stood up and walked over to the core "You're doing the right thing, Wave. This weapon of yours, it can unite the house. It can bring peace". Wave started working on the machine "As long as our people are on their knees before your Emperor" "Planet Wisp must survive. This is the only way". Wave stood up and powered up the machine "If we die, we die free as Wispons". Wave sighed "Dingo, you care about our people. I ask you this one time, don't use this weapon" "I have to". Dingo pressed a button on his wrist and the energy was released but instead of hitting the Wispons it hit the stormtrooper weapons including the one Dingo was holding. The captain was holding nothing and quickly ran out of the room. The troopers' weapons all exploded killing their users including Dingo. The wave spread out to the hanger destroying the walkers. Sonic just finished taking out the troopers before the wave hit "Of course" he said. Wave looked down at Dingo's body "We could use it, Whisper. We drive them right off the planet. Make sure that they never come back". Whisper put her hand on Wave's shoulder "That's the Empire's way. Not ours". Wave sighed and turned to the core. She ignited the darksaber "For Planet Wisp" "For Planet Wisp" Wave slashed across the core and it started to flash. Wave and Whisper ran out "Sonic! Power core's been breached" "Data's wiped as well" "Alright, let's get out of here. The whole place is about to go". Everyone ran back into the hanger and jumped right out as the heat form the core started to melt the command centre. They all flew away as the Scarship started to blow up behind them.
The next morning at the camp Wave was with Whisper and Claire about to leave the shuttle "This is only the beginning. The Empire will send everything they have to crush Planet Wisp". Wave turned to Whisper "That is why you should lead us, my lady" she bowed her head. Whisper stepped forward "You take the courage to make a difficult decision" "With your guidance. You have the wisdom of a ruler. There's no one I trust to wield the Darksaber more than you. And I am not alone". The shuttle ramp opened revealing a large group of Wispons from different houses. Whisper walked out and some of the Wispons removed their masks "Clan Lion is with you" "Clan Tangle is with you" "Eldar is with you" "Clan Vigil is with you" "Fox Hound is with you". Claire then stepped forward "Clan Voyance is with you". Wave put her hand on Whisper's shoulder "Now I understand why the saber came to me. It came to me so I could pass it to you". Wave held out the Darksaber and Whisper hesitantly took it "I accept this sword for my sister. For my clan and for all of Planet Wisp". She held up the darksaber and ignited it causing all the Wispons to bow.
