Been a while, yeah? Sorry I haven't uploaded in a hot minute, real life's been pretty hectic recently. Updates will probably sporadic, but I'll try.
TW: Attempted rape. (Mina's POV of the 7/11 incident)
It was a normal day for Mina. At least as normal as a Saturday detention AFTER her middle school graduation could be. It wasn't her fault she had tripped at lunch and spilled a milk carton all over Fukushida-sensei...
It totally wasn't because he was super strict and gave extra homework throughout the year... it totally wasn't!
Needless to say, Fukushida-sensei wasn't amused, and handed Mina a detention slip as he went to find a change of clothes.
What a party pooper, Mina grumbled.
Now she was here at school, on a Saturday. Couldn't Fukushida-sensei just have given her a referral? She sat in the empty classroom, watching the clock as the second hand ticked on. When the minute hand hit the hour mark, the detention monitor jammed his thumb at the door, and grunted.
Mina took this as a sign that her punishment was over, and happily skipped her way out school.
As she was walking home, she passed by a 7/11. Digging her hand through her jacket pockets, she rummaged for change, hoping to at least get a drink from the cornerstore.
She fished out a couple of bills and some coins, and after some quick math, Mina entered the 7/11 with a smile on her face and the ability to get a small soda from the store.
As she paid for her drink, she couldn't help but notice a big shadow pass by the store entrance.
Intrigued, she momentarily forgot her drink, and exited the store, following the path the shadow took, into the alleyways behind the 7/11.
Mina arrived behind the store, where an open dumpster sat, flies humming over the garbage bags in it.
Mina could've sworn stench lines were radiating off the bags. The shadow was nowhere to be seen.
Mina turned around to head back inside the 7/11, remembering the soda she bought.
Before she could head back, a large hand clamped around her mouth, dragging her back in the shadows of the alley.
Mina's pupils shrunk in horror as the hands brought her up to a fat, pigheaded man. His brown eyes were wild with lust, grip tightening around her as he panted.
Suddenly, she was slammed against the wall, the air being knocked out of her lungs. Her attacker immediately rushed forth, pinning her roughly against the wall. His hand ripped off her school uniform jacket, and with it, two of the buttons of her white collar shirt.
She activated her Quirk, spewing acid to try and deter him. Globs landed on him, but left only minor burns. She couldn't concentrate.
The pigman rested his hand on her stomach, and with an expression she could only describe as diabolical, started to reach lower.
And lower.
Using her Quirk would do nothing.
No, she thought, tears forming in her eyes.
The hand went lower.
NonononononononoNONONONO!
With her breath back, Mina screamed as loud as she could.
The pigman stumbled back a bit, his sensitive ears ringing at the scream. He recovered quickly, and restarted his advances.
Is this it? Mina could only stare at the pigman in fear. Her life would be over before it would even start.
She wouldn't be able to become a hero.
Mina watched as the paramedics laid the boy onto a stretcher, and wheeled him away.
As a police officer wrapped a blanket around her and gently guided her into an ambulance, she could help but stare in the direction the boy, no, her savior had gone.
She looked back on how after she screamed, and no one came, just when it felt like all hope was lost, she heard a cry ring out, and a green flash collide with the pigman's head in a burst of viridian light.
Her attacker crashed into the ground, revealing a tracksuit-wearing boy that must've been just as old as her, radiating green and black energy that sparked violently around his body, wielding a naginata made out of ethereal green light.
If he was here to do something to her, she was powerless. Mina couldn't do anything to the pigman, and she probably couldn't to this boy, who just knocked out said pigman in a single blow.
She watched as he looked at the pigman's body, energy flaring with rage. Mina looked on in fear, praying that he wouldn't finish what the pigman started.
"H-hey, I'm not here to h-hurt you.."
The boy's voice reached her ears. The naginata in his hand seemed to fade away, and the energy around his body retracted.
Mina kept looking at the pigman, taking in the full scope of the situation. Her breathing rate increased, and her pupils dilated again.
She would have been raped.
She leaned against the wall and sat down, as she realized her life could have been ruined in the span of a few seconds. The pigman would've had his way, Mina would've been ripped from the world of the innocent, if not for the boy's timely intervention.
The boy interlocked his fingers with hers, his grip firm, but gentle.
"Hey, breathe," He whispered. He guided her through a method called square breathing, which Mina would later find out to be a grounding and calming technique.
Her heart rate slowed down, and Mina began to calm and she took in the face of the boy sitting with her.
Bushy forest green hair, messy but controlled, just like hers. A chiseled jawline, one that could probably rival a model's. Freckles on his cheeks that arranged in a cute diamond shaped pattern.
But the most captivating part was his eyes. They were emerald green, bright with emotion and as deep as the ocean.
They were beautiful.
"H-hey... what's your name?"
Mina was snapped out of her thoughts as the boy asked her the question with a phone in hand, presumably to call 119.
"A-Ashido Mina..."
"That's a nice name, Ashido-san." The boy smiled.
And once more, Mina was captivated by the boy. It was clear that the boy was doing his best to try to calm her down and cheer her up. His smile, while it wasn't big, was the brightest smile she had seen in a while.
Mina realized that he was just scared as her, if not for her. Yet here he was, holding her hand, to let her know that he would not go away.
She felt his hand leave her grasp, and with a panic, she thought, Please don't leave don't leave don't leave please don't leave me with him.
She expected the boy to get up and leave the area, leaving her and her attacker's body alone, with a possibility of the pigman waking up. Mina watched as the boy took off his tracksuit, leaving him in a white undershirt. He gently draped the tracksuit over her shoulders, his leftover body heat on the tracksuit wrapping a cloak of warmth around her.
It was at this point that Mina realized that he wouldn't go. She pulled the tracksuit closer to her body, giving the boy a wobbly smile.
The boy interlocked their fingers again, and they sat in silence as the sirens drew closer.
Then the boy slumped over, and flopped onto the ground.
Mina nearly screamed at the top of her lungs for the second time that day.
She scrambled up to the boy's body, hoping that he wasn't dead. Mina put her ear to the boy's chest, hoping for a heartbeat.
Badump. Badump. Badump.
Leaning back, Mina exhaled a sigh of relief. The boy was unconscious, not dead.
Looking back at the boy's body, she stood up, and gently dragged him the wall, propping him up in a sitting position.
With a small blush, she sat down next to the boy and leaned against him.
She liked the warmth.
Chapter 5 on the way. I'll do my best to get it out soon. As always, please leave a review to see where I can improve!
