Leon, Integral and Sera'phna found themselves in a very open and quiet atrium once the flash of light cleared, Leon lightly shaking himself at the sensation and cold associated with the underground complex the BPRD called home. Leon almost immediately relaxed, which Integra smirked at, watching him pad along on his bare feet and lead the two to a hallway and a massive pair of elaborate golden doors. Integra gasped at the beauty of the doors and gaped at the expanse of books inside as Leon led them in, quickly crossing the room to put a hand against the glass of the tank recessed into one wall.
"Abe?" Leon asked, voice quivering lightly, as he knew he would likely be throwing himself into a stressful situation, but needed to see his partner. Abe said nothing, a blue flash from the corner out of view to the hatch at the top had Leon laughing heartily, moving to stand at the bottom of the spiral staircase as Abe fumbled down hurriedly in a scant few moments.
"It has barely been two days and you're this excited? I wonder how it would be in a week?" Leon chided, Integra smirking as Sera'phna snickered from near the door. Abe fumbled with the towel drying himself off when Leon grabbed it and wrapped it around Abe's back to pull him close and wrapped his wings around them both. Leons lips met Abes and both just simply ignored the world a long moment, brief passionate kisses interrupted only by the need to breathe. Before Abe could greet Sera'phna and Integra though, he could tell something bothered Leon, blinking almost comically as he unwrapped his wrists from the towel and gingerly placed a hand over Leon's abdomen.
Leon stiffened, feathers rising and face flush at sudden pleasure radiating from the gentle touch, Abes eyes widening and mouth agape. Leons reaction was more solemn, uncertain, knowing that Abe had just confirmed he was with child, but the happiness was overridden with concern.
**You're afraid to tell her?** Abe asked, earning a simple nod. Abes hands moved to cup Leon's face, frown of his own barely visible, but definitely there. **She's your sister. You've been through hell for her, did more than anyone could have hoped possible for the people of London, and helped save the entire world. I'm certain she will be more than understanding...**
**I suppose I am overthinking it... I just... I don't know how to approach this. I was in agony yesterday, only a few minutes, and then had morning sickness today... I just...** Leon sighed, wings quivering as he began to come unravelled, emotions welling up and threatening to take the breath from him. He took in a deep breath, Abe moving to grasp his shoulders firmly, Leon almost visibly shaking. Abe tried to reassure Leon, to help him calm and understand that no matter what came, they would be okay, however Leon remained inconsolable, his wings quivering like those of a fledgling sparrow.
"What's going on?" Integra demanded, frowning as she crossed the expansive library toward the couple, able to tell Leons movements were upset and not what would be expected of such a reunion. Leon shuddered once more, Sera'phna hopping closer to gently rest a hand on Integras shoulder placatingly.
"Give him a moment, he's still new to relationships." Sera'phna offered, able to see by Leons demeanor that he was more concerned with what Integra would think or say than with what he was about to admit. All four jumped slightly as they heard a light knock on the golden door they had just entered.
"Hey Feathers, didn't know you were coming back so soon. Uh, sorry, are we interrupting?" Hellboy greeted, trotting in and down the small stair at the entrance to the expansive library with Liz in tow. Leon relaxed, but remained tense and almost held onto one of Abes hands as though a lifeline. Integra had only once seen Leon so distraught and almost collapsed in on himself, the day they lost their father. She almost forced herself to back off, gladly moving to one of the chairs nearby with Sera'phna who gave Leon a look that spoke silent volumes of her concern.
"No, I would say you're just in time... though I... I dont even know if I should be the one to say anything." Abe offered, Integra crossing her arms and simply glaring at Leon, though none would know by looking at her that it was not angry, but concerned. She knew he thought the world of her and fretted voicing anything that might concern or anger her, but Leon was still her brother, and that trumped anything else. Liz took the solemn and defeated look on Leon's face as a sign that they needed privacy, closing the golden doors behind her as she moved to gather with the rest in the small seating area near one of the fireplaces. Leon stood next to Abe almost visibly shaking in place, but held onto his beloveds hand to help him steady his nerves, took a deep breath and then gently raised his shirt. While still small, the bulge was now more prominent and even Liz gasped.
"No way... That quickly?" She breathed, Leon nodding solemnly as Hellboy glanced between them and frowned. Abe shook his head as he knew Hellboy wouldn't get it, Liz however had understood immediately, as her flame had also explained that secret about Leon to her in passing, though had kept it to herself out of respect. He met her gaze with a sad smile, which promptly disappeared again.
"I think the spell I used in London may have messed with something and accelerated it..." Leon trailed off, looking away almost ashamed as Integra had sat in the chair, seen him raise his shirt to reveal that his abdomen was swollen, and had promptly been on her feet again in shock.
None moved, each doing their best to keep silent as the two siblings worked through whatever hangup seemed to be making Leon visibly frightened and almost appeared an ashamed child standing before Integra with Abe at his side.
Integra searchingly looked him over, moved to gently touch his abdomen as though disbelieving of her eyes. Leon slowly relaxed as he realized she was more awestruck and concerned for him than worried about what it could mean in the future. He offered her a sad smile and was promptly hugged in a rare show of affection from the one known to most of London as the Ice Queen.
"You're not angry? or worried about what this could do to the family name, or-" Leon stopped as Integra lightly squeezed to make him stop. She laughed lightly, shaking her head and simply held onto him a long moment, Abe releasing his hand to let him return the embrace fully.
**Leon, you know I love you, and think the world of you. I always have and always will.** Integra directed her thoughts at Leon, who sheepishly connected their minds using his vampirism, wrapping his wings around the both of them for some privacy as he swore he could feel tears rolling down his cheeks already. **I was upset you took so long to come home, still am, but I'm not going to disown you. Nor will I let anyone do anything untoward regarding Walter, or your child to come.** She knew her own cheeks were glistening with moisture now, continuing to hold Leon more to help him relax. He relaxed almost fully now, content smile splitting his features and almost making the happy tears disappear.
**You have no idea how much I needed to hear that right now... Thank you Sister...** Leon purred, audibly too, the deep rumble making Integra snicker lightly as the two slowly calmed, Abe smiling knowingly and waving off the concerned looks from Sera'phna, Hellboy and Liz, who playfully leaned into Hellboy to distract him lightly. Liz whispered that Leon and Abe had something to share but to give them a minute to relax, Leon chuckling lightly at Hellboy's scoff and shrug as he moved to wipe the tears from his face with a palm, offering Integra his handkercheif to do the same for herself, though when she removed it from her face and looked at it, she froze.
"This was dads... I was wondering where it went." She mused, Leon's smirk holding as he smiled, gently taking the tear-dampened hankercheif and gently running his thumb over the gold embroidered initials.
"Yeah, only thing of His I kept after the funeral... And Richard." Leon gently tucked the handkercheif into his shirt, which was really just him returning it to his shadows until it was needed again. Integra smirked, gently patting her own breast pocket where her matching handkerchief, formerly belonging to their father, sat neatly folded.
"Walter was insistent early on that I use the other one, I suppose he wanted to try and keep us closer, even when apart." Integra smiled, Hellboy chuckling as he held up his left hand, where a cross shaped scar could be seen on his palm, and the same rosary -though it had been repaired since the incident in Russia- wrapped around his wrist.
"I thought I was the sentimental one." Hellboy boisterously announced, chuckling lightly as Liz then gently punched him. Leon and Integra offered a light chuckle and smile, Abe moving to gently push Leon's wings to get him to sit as well to explain their news, Leon instead shaking his head lightly, blushing as his stomach lightly growled.
"I think we should try and get something to eat, I know it was still early back home, but you guys must have just been waking up? Is Kate around too?" Leon asked, looking pointedly at Liz who shook her head.
"She's still in DC, they are working out the new plan for the bureau emergency lines and possibly an SOS system for the white house, First Lady has taken over and has changed a ton of what the POTUS prior to her late husband had done, emergency measures and some immediate health care legislation amongst the first things she did. I'm glad that they remembered the caveat of her stepping in instead of a new election in lieu of the VP, as he was also lost during the attack." Liz explained as Leon nodded solemnly, sighing and visibly jumped slightly as Aureiahnna reformed from her crystal and perched on his shoulder, insistently preening at him to try and help keep him calm. He refolded his wings, Abe watching as Leon still visibly shook, then stopped, sighed again, and even Hellboy straightened up slightly as he went suddenly dangerously serious.
"Enough beating around the bush on it then... I'm pregnant. Long story, but what I did to restore London yesterday might have... Accelerated it." Leon explained as bluntly as he could. Hellboy gaped, gaze switching between the one he saw as a brother from day one, and the one his father had treated as such, lastly looking to Liz with a frown.
"Fleur told me." She shrugged, smirking as Leon chuckled, Abe and even Integra head-tilting slightly at the new name.
"Your flame chose a name already? I hope she realizes it's rather... silly." Leon mused, getting a glare from everyone, though Abe and Integra both looked more just lost and confused. "Wait, how long did you know?" Leon sounded a bit confused and concerned now himself, Liz smirking and giving a light shrug.
"On the trip home after we were recalled. I didn't want to step on your excitement, though I see I might have saved you some stress if I had told you." Liz sighed, grinning sheepishly at him before lightly rolling her eyes at Hellboy's overblown reaction which saw him feign passing out in the sectional they shared. "But you're right, we were just coming to grab Abe for breakfast. Most of the crew are out with their families or helping where they are needed. FBI and CIA are spread pretty thinly after Millennium struck."
Liz carefully stood, Leon raising a brow as he spotted just how far along she must be, her own abdomen showing significantly more roundness than his own. Hellboy waggled his brows at Leon who chuckled and nodded, turned and wrapped a wing around Abe who easily accepted the gentle pull alongside him, grasping his hand reassuringly as Integra took his other after she gently scritched Aureiahnna's chest feathers in greeting, the group leaving the library to head to the mealroom.
The trip was quiet, most of their little extended family groggy from just waking up, Leon chuckling and lightly rolling his eyes at a brief wave of emotion from Walter. Integra smirked, almost able to tell why before he spoke, and then raised a brow when he grinned in the sharklike way she had glimpsed Alucard do on occassion.
"Walter is miffed we came here without mentioning it beforehand, how about we have breakfast at the Manor?" Leon held the grin, but did his best to supress the unnerving aspect of it as Hellboy grinned in response and Sera'phna laughed. He received a resounding yes, Integra laughing lightly as they turned in the hall and instead headed for the Atrium, the waystone, and returned to the Manor garden in a breath. Leon gladly led their breakfast party into the dining hall, where Walter had already set placements for each, even a perch in one corner next to the head seat -Leon surmised Walter had put it together from old scraps in one of the storerooms on his own- to which Aureiahnna promptly flit over and settled herself on happily. Integra insisted Leon take the head seat of the table, instead sitting where he had the night before when he had first realised himself to be with child. Walter soon entered first with tea for everyone, before placing heaping platters of food on the table, Sera'phna grinning toothily at Leon who blinked almost comically, realising that she must have brought far more provisions than he thought in order for Walter to have made so much. Before he finished however, Walter moved to offer a congratulatory handshake to Leon, who instead stood and wrapped his Sireling in a hug, purring a bit lightly.
"Thank you, don't make me regret anything." Leon whispered, Walter lightly chuckling, returned the hug as gently as he thought he could, offering a knowing smile before disappearing back to the kitchen. Integra smirked at her brother, shaking her head lightly as he returned it sheepishly as he sat back down, looking over the stacks of smallish pancakes, waffles, bacon, ham, sausages, scrambled eggs and a platter of sliced fruits, one of which had been sculpted into the shape of an owl. Another platter, entirely pancakes, was soon slid next to Hellboy, Walter gently patting the half-demon's shoulder with a smile. Hellboy's eyes lighting up and he gaped.
"No way, little Wally? Damn. I had no idea, they did a number on you..." Hellboy's voice quivered lightly, realising that he did know the Hellsing family retainer, having met him briefly during world war two. Walter chuckled, shaking his head.
"Not without giving them a fight myself. Though you weren't much taller than I back then. Congratulations to you as well, and condolences." Walter's expression shifted from excited almost childlike recognition to solemn in a blink, Hellboy raising a brow and offering a sad smile once he realized what his brief childhood friend referred to. Nothing else needed to be said, Leon soon clearing his throat to break the dark cloud that had settled over the group breifly, using a fork to spear a piece of ham and bring it to his plate as he suggested everyone dig in.
