Tails was in the top turret of the Hurst staring at the holo-image of him and his parents "Mum. Dad. I know what I have to do now, but… I'm afraid, not for me, but for my friends. They've fought so hard and given so much and helped me to understand why you stood up to the Empire and made the sacrifices you did". He smiled "I wish you could meet them, my new family. I guess in some way, you will be with us today, when we finish what you started. I want you to know everything I've done and will do began with you". He didn't notice that Sally was listening from the bottom of the ladder "Tails? They're bringing her up".
Outside Nephthys was being taken by Baron and Infinite "You disgust me, traitor" "The day I betrayed your Empire, Governor, was the day I finally stopped betraying myself". Nephthys rolled his eyes "You've given up years of service, a promising career, prestige, for what? To join a band of failures who don't stand a chance" "I think we do" they saw Tails and Sally leaving the Hurst. Tails stared at Nephthys "Especially with your help". She chuckled "I will never help you" "Uh, yes, you will. It will be your last act as Governor of Emerald Hill. You're finally gonna do the right thing and help free your home world" "I will do no such thing". Tails shrugged "Okay, if that's your choice" he whistled. The others stepped back, and a Chaos appeared. Nephthys fell back and tried to struggle but the Chaos grabbed her by the throat and picked her up. Tails stared at her coldly "Or you could transmit the victor code, and then we could fly to the Capital as your prisoners. If the odds against us are as bad as you say, what do you have to lose?" "Fine. Fine! I'll do it! Just call it off".
Two gunships being piloted by Sally and G-merl were flying. Inside o of them Konor looked nervous "I don't know about this plan, Fang" "In my experience, when it comes to Shinobi, the worse the plan seems, the better the result". On the other ship Wave and Tails were wearing stormtrooper armour "Hey, you okay?" Wave asked. Tails looked to her "I know I can always count on you" "Alright, what're you up to?". They're commlinks activated "We're coming up on the Capital. Better get ready" "Copy. Head for platform zero delta". Nephthys stared up at them "The command centre? You're going to attempt to launch the dome. Your plan is worse than I thought" "Mmm, bolder. You mean bolder than you thought" Tails said with Wave adding "More creative than you thought". Infinite was now not wearing his mask, he turned to Nephthys and held out a commlink "Now, about those landing codes. And remember, I'll know if they're correct". She grinned "Gladly. The sooner we land, the sooner you will be my prisoners". As they got close to the hanger, she leaned toward the commlink "Executive code 6-2-7-3-1-1" "Codes authorized, Governor. You're clear to land. Security will take the prisoners on the platform".
Once landing Fang, Wave and Tails put their helmets on and led the others out. Infinite put on an officer's helmet on and then walked out with Nephthys in front of him "Nice and easy, Governor". They were led to a stormtrooper captain "We'll take it from here" "They're all yours". Tex growled and knocked Tails over and then jumped over the trooper before running out of the hanger "Stop him!" Tails yelled. In the distraction he ignited his lightsaber and then pushed them all into the walls with the Force. Tex held the hanger doors opened letting Wave and Bunnie through "Bunnie, jam their comm system!" Wave said. Tails meanwhile led the others to a group of crates for cover as more troopers entered. Sally ad G-merl ran out of the gunship with the former firing on the trooper from the side "Go, go, go!" the other followed her just as Bunnie got the door open letting them through. "What about the comm systems?" Wave asked, "They're all locked down. Now, let's get everyone inside". Tex ran out as the others entered but Manic stopped him "Stop. Just there. Bart, you go back further, a little more".
He then got on his commlink "Tails, we are in position" "Go then!" "Now!". Bart ran past Manic and started flying towards Tex who caught him and threw him to the window of the command centre". The Imperials stared at him in confusion and in the distraction Tails and the others charged in and quickly disarmed everybody "Fang, lock them in the storage bin" "Yes, sir, Commander". Tex, Manic and Bart then entered. Baron made Nephthys sit "It's only matter of time before you're discovered. You can't hope to defeat my forces". Wave shrugged "Defeat them? Hmm, not planning to. But we do want them all in the dome". Infinite went over to a control panel "We'll utilise protocol 13" "The Empire's new order for immediate recall of all personnel to the base for a full evacuation" Sally said. Baron nodded "Once they're all inside we'll launch ad it'll be goodbye to the Empire". Sally got on her commlink "Naka-Two to base. We're in and we've taken the dome. Wait for me to signal for pickup". She heard Karl's voice on the other end "Acknowledged, Naka-Two. Nice work. We're standing by".
At the base Karl was working with Shellbreaker and Zax but none of them saw a very angry Reala watching them from the grass. Zax looked to the other two "I forgot to tell you guys; Tails gave me a special mission" "What're you- Watch out!"" Shellbreaker yelled just before Reala lunged at him. He knocked Shellbreaker to the ground before kicking Karl back. Zax tried to shoot him but Reala was to fast and punched him. Karl grabbed Reala from the back but he headbutted bum and threw him forward. Reala then picked up a pistol and was ready to shoot the downed Zax but a Chaos then appeared. Reala quickly ran to one of the gunships, the Chaos broke the window, but he was still able to escape. Reala then activated the transmitter ad a hologram of Mogul appeared "The Freedom Fighters have captured Nephthys. I have no doubts they've used her codes to infiltrate the Imperial headquarters. To what purpose, I do not know". Mogul didn't look worried "I expected Governor Nephthys to fail, but not so completely. You must get inside and deactivated the shield generator before the Freedom Fighters lock down the Imperial Dome" "And then?" "Then, wait. I'm already en route".
Wave, Tails and Fang have removed their disguises. Wave had just finished doing something on one of the control consoles "Tails, we're ready" "Infinite, you're up". Infinite, now with his mask back on turned on a microphone "Attention, all personnel. Protocol 13 is now in effect. Report to your action stations immediately. Repeat. Protocol 13 is in effect". They then heard a voice "Hanger 2-7 to Command. Please confirm lockdown order" "Command centre to a all units. The order is confirmed" "This is highly irregular. Please repeat sector authorization". They all looked to each other "Baron, get ready" Tails said. Infinite tried again "Repeat. The order is confirmed". Baron went to a different microphone "This is ISB Colonel Gerald. I am executing override ode Base Gamma Zero" "Imperial Security? I was unaware ISB was involved" "That is the point of this exercise" Baron told him. "Then this is a drill?" "Is it? And do you always question the orders of a superior officer?". There was a pause and then "Proceeding with protocol 13 immediately". Tails smirked "Sounds like they bought it, Colonel. Nice work". Over time TIEs, walkers and troopers returned to the dome completely emptying the city of Imperials however the gunship carrying Reala managed to make it before the base shut down.
"All units have returned to their duty stations, and the dome is now secure" Infinite said. Sally started the launch cycle while Wave set the self-destruct. Manic looked nervous "We do have a way off this thing before, it explodes… Right?" "That's where the Hurst come in to pick us up". Tex looked excited "Let's get airborne" "These thrusters haven't fired in years. Gonna take time to prime them" Sally said. Nephthys grinned sinisterly "You're too late". They saw a Scarship fly above the base "It's Mogul" "Shutting down the launch cycle" Sally said. Bunnie shook her head "No. We can't just sit here" "Mogul is holding position directly overhead. If we launch the dome, we'll crash into his ship and destroy the entire city". Tails stepped forward "G-merl, put me through" a hologram of Mogul appeared "Governor Nephthys is our prisoner, and we have complete control of the Imperial Dome, with every trooper, pilot and officer trapped inside. You failed, Mogul. Leave Emerald Hill and we'll let your troops out before we blow the dome to pieces". Mogul stared down at him mockingly "Are you quite finished. If you truly wish to save Emerald Hill, Commander Tails, the only term I will accept is your immediate and unconditional surrender" "Why would I surrender when I hold your entire army prisoner". Mogul smirked "No, you've simply moved my assets to a safe position so that I can bombard the civilians of your home without incurring Imperial casualties". Tails eyes opened wide with shock, "Fang, raise the planetary shields!" Wave said. Fang tried but then banged his fist against the console "Ah! The generators just went online. Someone's engaged the manual override at the power terminals!". Mogul looked back to Tails "Your shied generator is under my control. Just so that you understand that my intentions are genuine, I shall give a demonstration". Tails stepped forward "No! Wait, listen-" "Open fire". The Scarship fired down on the city killing multiple people and destroying building.
Tails watched horrified "Enough! I surrender! I surrender!". Mogul made a gesture and the firing stopped as smoke rose from the city "I await your arrival. And make no mistake, come alone. If you attempt any heroics, I will assume the bombardment and wipe them out, including your friends". He cut-off communications, Tails stood where he was for a moment, he took a breath and turned to the door "Tails" Sally said but he ignored her. Tails handed his lightsaber to G-merl who reluctantly took it. He kept his head down, he didn't want the others to see the fear on his face. Sally followed him "I understand that you think you need to do this, but-" "I do need to do this" Tails said not turning to face her. Sally looked desperate "There's another way. There's always another way. I won't let you go". She turned him around, but he kept his head down. She put her hands on his shoulder and she could feel him shaking "What can we do?" he asked. Sally and the others moved over to a holo-unit "Let's see what we can do" "We could charge up the dome's cannon. We'll blow him out of the sky" Tex suggested. Fang shook his head "I like you thinking but those lasers are no match for a Scarship" "There's also the issue of him crashing into the city" Infinite said.
Tails looked to G-merl who was plugged into the console. He opened a hatch above Tails who then noticed Wave was staring at him. The two stared at one another for a moment before she walked over to the dome's schematic on the other side of the room "Sally, I think there's a way to raise the shield form here at the power terminals". As everyone was examining the schematics Wave saw that Tails was gone, her face dropped slightly but she didn't want to alert the others. Sally was thinking "We have a plan. We just need to pull it off before Mogul losses his patience. We'll need to stall him somehow. Tails?" she looked and saw that he wasn't there. They then heard an engine hum and they suddenly saw a gunship fly out of the dome and head towards the Scarship "We have to stop him" Fang said. Sally got on her commlink "Tails, don't do this". Wave put her hand on her shoulder "Sally, we have to trust him. The best way we can help is to get that shield up, so when Tails makes his move, we're ready. We have to assume the generator room will be well-guarded, so we'll need two teams to hit it from different sides if we're gonna capture both power terminals". Sally sighed "it's a good plan. The best chance we've got" she began to smile. G-merl then beeped "Troopers!". They all pointed their weapons at the door "It appears my troops have decided your drill is over" Nephthys said.
Tails landed in the Scarships hanger, the moment he stepped out of the hanger three trooper ran up and searched him before putting binders on his hands. He got taken to Mogul's office where he was waiting behind his desk "It was a wise decision for you to surrender" "I didn't have much choice". The two troopers left the room as Mogul stood up "Oh, nonsense. You could have chosen to let your people die. However, you chose to be a Shinobi. Predictable. You follow a long history written by the Shinobi, where they believe to be morally correct instead of what is strategically sound". Tails stared at him blankly "The Shinobi have survived" "Hmm, the Shinobi once numbered in the thousands. What's left are a scattered, frightened lot, mostly beaten and in hiding, or poorly trained children like yourself. I must admit, the mysteries of the Force are an enigma to me. But for all those abilities, all the power". He held up a temple guard mask form his desk "The Shinobi lacked the vision for how to wield it" "The Force isn't a weapon, but you'll never understand that" Tails said defensively. Mogul put the mask down "Oh, I don't have to. It was not my intention to utterly destroy Emerald Hill, but you made that inevitable". He moved over to a large stone slab which was covered in graffiti Tails recognised "These are a few of the artifacts I've gathered from your home world. I've saved what I could. I have even taken some of Wave Voyance's work. She's quite talented. Or was quite talented". Tails could contain his anger "You think you can take whatever you want, thing's you didn't make, didn't earn, things you don't even understand! You don't deserve to have this art or Emerald Hill!" "Who deserves what is irrelevant. What matters is who has power. But that is something the Shinobi won't teach you, so I'll take you to someone who will".
Mogul took out of the office and through the Scarship until entering a large room with a large stone door in the middle. In the door was a hologram of a grey Hedgehog with rings on his wrists. Mogul bowed his head "My Emperor. I have brought you Miles Prower". Tails hid his fear as best he could as the hologram turned around revealing Solaris "My dear boy, I've so wanted to meet you, and here you are at last".
Three Chaos' woke up Zax, Karl and Shellbreaker and they saw that the gunship was mission "That thing's gonna warn Mogul about our attack" Karl said. Zax looked like he knew something "It's just like Tails said. Come on!" the ran into the Hurst cockpit. "Wait, what does that mean? What'd you mean 'it's just like Tails said'?" Karl asked. Zax sat in the pilot's seat "Tails told me that there was a chance Mogul would get back to the Capital before they finished their plan, and if it looked like that was the case, he gave us a special mission". He few the Hurst away as the Chaos' watched. They got higher "Tails wanted us to go into high orbit around Emerald Hill and send out a signal beacon on Frequency Zero" "Frequency Zero? Nobody uses that anymore. Who are we supposed to be contacting?". Zax smirked "Not sure it's a who, more like a what, and if I told you what, well that's the part you might not believe".
The stormtroopers were planting charges on the doors to the command centre when the vent behind them opens and Bart drops down with a blaster "Hello" he shoots one of them before running. Two troopers chase after him as the final one continues to plant another charge, but the door suddenly opens and a grinning Tex punched his head knocking him out "Ha. Works every time". Manic laughed "of course it worked, my friends. Just look at Bart. He's positively magnetic!". They then saw the two trooper who were chasing Bart fall back on the floor dead. Wave turned to the rest of them "Alright, Fang, Manic and Bunnie, you take the north tower. Tex, Infinite, Konor, you take the south. I'll talk you through it from here". Tex took out his sword "let's go, Freedom Fighter" everyone ran out except for Sally and Wave. Wave then noticed Sally looked troubled "What is it?" "I just hope Tails…" "He knows what he's doing".
Tails glared at Solaris "That will be all, Grand Admiral". Mogul bowed before leaving the room. Solaris then looked to Tails "I apologize for not being there in person, but governing the galaxy takes up much of my time" "I know who you are and what you are" Tails said angrily. Solaris remained calm "You misjudge me. Can you not see the opportunity that stands here before you?" "I see a part of the Shinobi Temple, which you stole from Emerald Hill" "I had this portion of the Temple moved here stone by stone for you. Forgive me, but I would have thought you would thank me for this effort". Tails started at him in disbelief "Thank you? Thank you for destroying the Temple? For imprisoning my people? For killing my parents" the anger took over his fear. Solaris sighed "My dear boy, it's you who chose to destroy the Temple. The actions of your insurgent friends require a firm hand to ensure that there is order on Emerald Hill. As for your parents, allow me to offer what might have been, and what yet may be". He gestured for Tails to enter the Temple doors which Tails cautiously did. He went through and saw a light in the distance, he heard a female voice "Dinner's ready, Miles… Miles?" the light dimmed, and he saw his mother. "They are waiting for you. Go to them. Open the door. This is what you want, isn't it? The life you deserved" Solaris said. Tears formed in Tails' eyes "But it can't be" "Yes, it can, but you must choose to make it so" "Miles?" he heard again. Tails started walking towards the light.
Manic, Fang and Bunnie ran into the main power room and shot the Imperials inside "Base, this is Team A. We're in" "Copy that, Team A. What's it looks like down there?" Wave asked. They took cover at a terminal as more trooper entered from a higher walkway "Oh… it's just great. Really wish you were here". Reala then entered near one of the terminals and fired on the group. Fang got on his commlink "Our problems are multiplying. We could use some help down here".
Tex, Konor and Infinite were running through a corridor shooting back at troopers "We're heading towards Sector GL-44, but you know that plan we had to trap all the troopers in the dome? It just occurred to me that that was a bad plan!". "I got it. Baron, close blast door 58-58" they heard Wave say before the doors behind them suddenly closed separating them from the troopers. "You should have a clear path to the shied generator now". They ran inside form the higher walkway and killed a few of the troopers shooting down at the others. Fang and the others were able to advance but there was a large gap between them and the control panel platform "I can't get to the control panel. You've got to extend the bridges".
G-merl heard this and ran over to the control console. He plugged his arm in but was suddenly electrocuted and throne back. Wave sighed "Ugh. G-merl's fried. The circuit was protected" "Great. Now what?" "Find an override panel. You should be able to do it manually form there".
Fang was still in cover and looked to Bunnie "Any ideas?" "Yeah, but I'm gonna stay anyway" she said before they both fired out.
Tails walked closer to the light and he saw that Rosemary was in their kitchen "Miles, I made your favourite!". Solaris followed behind Tails "The gateway will not be open forever. Go now, before it's too late". Tails wanted to do what he said but resisted and stepped back "No. This is a lie. They died. I… I felt it" "Miles. Where is that boy?". Tails saw his father; Amadeus appear next to Rosemary. Solaris stared sympathetically at Tails "You know it is possible to change fate. There are infinite paths and infinite possibilities, but you must open the door" "Son, are you coming?".
Bunnie was working on the control panel "Got it!" the bridges suddenly extended. Bart suddenly ran in with two troopers behind him which Fang quickly shot. Bart then flew out over the bridge and shot at Reala and his troopers "Look at him go!" Manic said. Bart shot two troopers but was suddenly hit in the chest. He fell to the ground with a scream of pain "No!" Manic yelled. He ran out and shot two troopers before kneeling at Bart's body "Bart, what were you thinking?". He lifted the body "You're not a hero. You're a pirate like me". Konor was giving Infinite and Tex cover "Even with that bridge extended, there's just too many of them! We're gonna have to do something drastic". Tex then looked down and saw Reala "Alright, I'll do it!" he ran out "Tex, don't!" Infinite yelled but Tex ignored him. Tex jumped down and tackled Reala right over the edge of the platform "He's crazy" Konor said, "Well it was your idea. Come on!" Infinite responded. They both ran out to the middle terminal and shot the three troopers. They got to work on the console but one of the troopers was just injured and raised his blaster. He shot Konor in the stomach "Ah!" "Konor!" Fang yelled up at him. Konor had enough strength to pick up the trooper and throw him over the platform before groaning in pain and falling back. Infinite quickly caught him "Get that shield up" the old clone told him and pushed him away.
"So, few have a choice to live the life they want. Why deny yourself?" Solaris said. Tails stepped closer to them "Mum? Dad?" "Miles?" his mother said as they set the table. Solaris smiled and raised his hand, the binders on Tails' wrist detached releasing him. Tails turned to him in confusion as Solaris pointed to a slot on the wall "There. The control for the gateway. Activate it and you can be with you family again". Tails stared desperately at his parents "What about my friends?" "If you open the gateway, you will save your parents. They shall live". Rosemary and Amadeus stared at him with warm smiles. They stepped closer to the door and reached out their hands. Tails put one hand over the wall slot which began to glow as he reached out for them with his other hand "Go on. You deserve this". "Mum? Dad?" he stared at them both lovingly as his tears fell to the floor "You'll always be a part of me. But I have to let you go". Solaris realized what he was about to do "NO!". Tails used the Force to make the walls on either side of him shatter. His parents stared at him sadly before disappearing "We love you… Tails" they both said. Tails ran right through the hologram of Solaris as the Temple collapsed behind him. He just managed to jump out without getting hurt. He turned around and saw Mephiles walk out. Tails stood up and glared defiantly at him "You're wrong. I have a family. I don't need anything from you" "How unfortunate". Three guards in red armour and wielding staffs ran in "Kill him!". Tail ran forward and tried to push them back with the Force, but their feet were magnetized to the floor. One of the guards raised their staff which glowed yellow. The same energy suddenly surrounded Tails, he hovered above the ground and suddenly felt like he was being crushed. Tails looked behind him and saw that Mephiles was gone, he grabbed part of the temple rubble with the Force and threw it all at the Force crushing them.
Tex was climbing up one of the power conduits with Real right behind him. The two met at the top and Real pushed him back down. Tex held on by his foot, Real kicked him trying to make him let go. Tex grabbed his foot and put it between two metal bars before crushing the bars trapping Reala's foot.
Mogul was on the bridge of the Scarship "All batteries, prepare a full-scale bombardment of the city. On my command". All the guns on the Scarship pointed down at the city.
Sally and Wave saw this from the command centre "I think we're out of time!" "Guys, now or never" Wave said.
Bunnie hit the override switch "Got it!". Infinite waited at the control console "Tex!" he yelled. Tex climbed up to the top of the conduit "Don't wait on me!". Infinite reluctantly activated the shield, energy passed through all the conduits. Tex just jumped before it passed through the one, he was on and grabbed onto the edge of a platform. He looked down and saw Reala get killed by the energy hitting him.
The shields activated just before the Scarships fired saving the entire city. Sally grinned "it worked! The shield is holding! The city is safe".
Mogul saw this form the bridge of the Scarship. He got on his commlink "Reala. Reala. What's your status?". He heard Tex's voice "A bit to gruesome to describe. Sorry".
Wave helped G-merl up "Gem! Gem, wake up!". G-merl turned to her and beeped "Oh, really? Yeah, that must be tough, but can you please see if you can contact the Hurst?".
Fang ran up to the higher walkway and saw Infinite kneeling over Konor's body. Fang knelt down and Konor took his hand "It was an honour to serve with you, Fang. It was an honour to fight for something we chose to believe in". Fang smiled "We did it, Konor. We did it". Konor's grip loosened, and his eyes closed".
Tails entered the bridge and shot the two death troopers. Mogul looked behind him and saw multiple dead stormtroopers lying on the floor "Looks like you lose, Mogul". Mogul glared at him "A momentary setback" "We'll see". One of the officers stood up "Sir, several unidentified objects have just entered orbit" "My blockade will intercept them" "They've destroyed the blockade. Our ships are gone". Mogul looked to him in surprise "Get Captain Pellaeon". He heard a voice over his commlink "Sir, they came out of hyperspace! I've never seen" "Admiral, we have incoming". Tails smirked "Take a look". Mogul looked out of the window and saw the Hurst emerge from the clouds with hundreds of the Murasia moths behind it.
Zax had a huge grin on his face and looked to Karl "So, would you have believed me if I told you this was Tails' plan?" "Probably, this has that kid written all over it". Shellbreaker laughed "I don't think I was expecting this". The Scarships released TIEs but the moths charged through them easily. The crashed into the Scarships destroying them except for Mogul's.
Wave watched this from the command centre "Uh, when did this become part of the plan" "You're asking the wrong person" Sally answered.
Mogul and his remaining troopers pointed their weapons at Tails "Whatever happens next happens to both of us" "That's the idea". Tails pushed them all back against the walls knocking them unconscious. The moths then all began attaching to the Scarship. Tails then heard Wave over the commlink "Tails? Tails, can you hear me? The moths, is it you?" "Yeah! Pretty good, huh?" "Well, you could've told the rest of us". Tails smirked "I wanted it to be a surprise" he was suddenly shot in the shoulder "Ah!". He turned and closed the bridge doors with the Force. He then saw the large moth fly in front of the Scarship and they all began to glow. Tails then heard Sally "Tails! Tails, get out of there right now! That's an order" "Sally, I need to see this through to the end". He saw Mogul waking up and held him in place with his other hand. He then heard Wave "Tails, please! Get out of there!" "I can't do that. It's up to all of you now. Remember, the Force will be with you, always". The entire Scarship jumped into hyperspace with the moths to unknown location.
All the others were back at the command centre and just stared up at the sky in shock. They then heard Karl over the commlink "Um. Was that the plan? Because we're all clear up here. There are no Imperial ships left" "Then this is our chance" Wave said. She turned to the others "You heard Tails. Let's finish this. G-merl, prime the thrusters for launch! We're gonna blow this place". Sally nodded and got on her commlink "Zax, we need immediate pickup" "Copy that, General". G-merl plugged into the console and primed the thrusters. The entire base began to shake, Baron looked to Nephthys "You've lost. You should come with us" "I serve the Empire until the end" "So not much longer". Fang and Manic were carrying Konor and Bart's bodies. They placed them down at the back of the room and they all got ready as the doors blew open. A fire fight ensued between them and the stormtroopers. G-merl threw Wave Tails' lightsaber "Thanks" she used it to cut the window open. The Hurst arrived and opened its door right at the window. Everyone jumped in taking the bodies as well. The Hurst then flew away as the dome began to rise up and eventually move over the sea. Wave sat in the cockpit and put her hand over her wrist device "For Sonic and Tails" she pressed a button. The citizens of Emerald Hill watched as the dome's thrusters began to overload and explode. Nephthys stood calmly in the command centre as the explosion enveloped her.
The dome exploded and its remains fell back down towards the sea. Sally sat in the pilot's seat of the Hurst "Fang, bring up every star chart along Tails' last know trajectory". G-merl and Tex entered when a hologram of Tails appeared on the console "If you're watching this recording, then I owe you an explanation. There were several paths in front of me. Tex sat back in his chair "We took Emerald Hill without them. We can keep it without them". They started to hear cheering "Tex, you may be right" Sally said. They flew over the capital and saw the population cheering up at them. Infinite removed his mask "Looks like the people are with you, General Acorn" "Then if the Empire wants a fight, we'll be ready for them".
Years later Wave was at the old tower Tails used to call his home. She looked out to the capital which was now thriving with ships coming and going. She then saw X-wings and a shuttle fly overhead. "The attack we all anticipated never came". She climbed down to the ground and got on an Extreme Gear board. "The once invincible Empire had begun to fracture. The small group of Freedom Fighters became bold. And with a decisive victory at the battle of Green Forest. The Emperor's reign of terror came to an end". In the capital a statue of a bee and a weasel stood at the centre "After the war. The fallen were honoured".
In space on the bridge of a cruiser Tex was showing Infinite something "Tex took Infinite along the secret hyperspace path to the planet Bollers". Infinite stared in surprise as behind him members of Sand Blast entered "It was then that Infinite realized he hadn't destroyed the Sand Blast people, and that they were thriving on this new world. A world where he was welcome as one of them".
The Hurst was flying through the cloud of a random planet "Sally fought in the Battle of Green Forest, as did Commander Fang. By that time, there had been a new member added to the crew of the Hurst". Sally in the cockpit smiled and looked over to the co-pilot seat where a very young blue hedgehog was having fun watching the ship fly "Naka-Seven, Manik Acorn. Born to fly, just like his mother". Sally smiled at him as behind them G-merl was holding his arms up as if he were cheering which Manik copied. "And, well, we all know what his father was like".
Wave entered the old capital building where a large mural of the Hurst crew and two Chaos sat "As for me, I used to think that Tails was counting on me to protect Emerald Hill, the planet and the people he cared for so much". She placed her hand on the mural "But one day, I realized there was more to it". She turned to the entrance and saw Amy standing there staring at her "Tails' out there somewhere, and it's time to bring him home". She puts her mask on and she leaves with Amy.
