Just a Little Halloween Fun

In his flat above the shop, Aziraphale looked up from his book for the umpteenth time that evening. After all, he found it quite impossible to concentrate over the sounds of shrieking children on the street below. With a sigh, he reluctantly closed the tome until he could resume his reading at a later…quieter…time.

"Seriously, Dear," he softly scolded when Crowley reentered the room, still donning his sunglasses and straightening his clothing. "Is it really necessary to frighten the wee ones like that?"

"It's just a little Halloween fun, Angel!" the demon replied affably, completely unperturbed by the gentle reprimand, before he sat down by the fire. "They expect to be scared tonight. They like it! What better way to do that than as a giant snake? Plus, you know I'd never actually hurt a kid…and I'm making sure they all get their candy first."

"Well, I suppose that's something," Aziraphale conceded – right as the shop's doorbell sounded again.

Crowley's eager grin displayed a hint of fang as he quickly stood back up and removed his glasses. His yellow eyes glinted mischievously in the firelight as he beckoned to the angel. "Come on, 'Zira," he implored. "Come join the fun."

Aziraphale found that he just couldn't resist Crowley's good humored excitement, so he finally acquiesced.

"Oh…very well!" he agreed. "Especially since it's to entertain the children."

A slightly devious smile crossed his angelic features then as he proceeded to shift into something suitably grotesque for the occasion...a zombie-like figure that just happened to resemble Hastur with his Toad hat.

"Oooh, good one, Angel!" Crowley laughed approvingly before he shifted himself. The two then miracled themselves back down to the shop's entrance to deliver their own brand of fun Halloween frights to those who waited there.
