Phoenix landed outside the tower, finding a handful of soldiers guarding it, though it was nothing a few Ki blasts couldn't solve, wiping out the small squad easily. The door problem was fixed with the same solution, blowing it off its hinges, and destroying the doorframe, with another Ki blast. More soldiers were waiting inside, and despite the fact there was currently a cloud of dust and smoke obscuring their view, they didn't hesitate to open fire into the cloud when the door was destroyed. It was a futile attempt though as the masked woman moved in a blur, moving so fast none of them saw or realized what happened until she stopped behind them all, sheathing her blood stained weapon. There was a second of silence before the soldiers behind her collapsed, most of them decapitated while the others were cut clean in half.

Phoenix didn't even give the corpses a second glance, instead looking towards the stairs that led to the next floor, then she looked up at the ceiling. Deciding it would be faster, she held a hand up and released a large blast of Ki above her, shooting through anything and everything it hit and causing it to make a large hole in all the floor, all the way to the top. Lowering her hand and her stance slightly, she jumped straight up, making her way all the way to the top in seconds. What she found, aside from destroyed equipment and dead soldiers, was a strange-looking alien wearing Cold army armor and the usual Scouter. He had a large, bald head with circular holes for ears near the top of his head, large dark green lips, and his skin was green and scaly, otherwise he looked close to human. Behind him was the control panel, it showed where all the soldiers were stationed on the planet, the light on the radio was flashing though and there was a small dot blinking several times on the screen above the control panel.

'Well that doesn't look good.' Phoenix thought, removing her weapon from her back. "We both know how this ends. You can either die quickly, or…" She planted the hilt of her weapon in the floor with an echoing clang. "Slowly and painfully."

The man, which she assumed was the commander of the army here based on the symbol on his armor, flinched slightly from the clang her weapon made, but didn't back down. "The one who will be dying today is you!" He yelled, pulling out two swords sheathed on his back. "Freeza has already dispatched reinforcements here, you and your little group are done for!" He grinned triumphantly as he spoke.

"Hmph." Phoenix scoffed at his words, picking her weapon up again. "Slowly it is then." With that, she kicked off the floor and rushed at the commander with her weapon poised to strike.

Sparks flew in the air as metal met metal, metallic ringing echoing in the room. Phoenix had to admit, she was surprised his blades didn't snap in half from her weapon, they must have been made of a special material like her scythe. Now wasn't the time to think of such things though. She pulled her weapon back slightly to make the commander inch closer to her, making his grin widen as he thought he was overpowering her, however, he let out a pained grunt as her foot buried itself in his midsection. He stumbled backwards, struggling to catch his breath and regain his balance at the same time. The masked woman kicked off the floor forcefully, raising her weapon to slice at him from the left as she was close enough, the man barely managed to block it with his swords next to him, but his lack of balance made him stagger to the side again. A loud clang then metallic screeching was heard as her blade hit his and slide off, ultimately cutting nothing but air. The momentum from the swing caused the woman to spin in a circle, giving the commander enough time to regain his balance and charge at her again, swinging his swords in a downward movement.

Phoenix stopped herself from spinning and pivoted to face the commander as he came at her with an attack, which she blocked with the pole of her scythe, another metallic clang rang out as a result. They would've locked eyes if she wasn't wearing a mask, but instead he was glaring into the black slits where her eyes were, pushing against her weapon as hard as he could. She, however, had enough of being locked like this, pushed herself forward, overpowering the commander and making him unsteady. She took advantage of his imbalance and went for a hard kick to his stomach, which sank into his softer flesh and caused him to cough up some spittle. However, his hand wrapped around her ankle and he tossed her over his head and flung her towards the wall on the other side of the room, tossing one of his swords after her as well. Phoenix was surprised at how quickly he counterattacked her, but managed to even herself out and land on her feet on the wall, looking after him when she landed just as the sword came flying towards her. She narrowly dodged it by moving her head to the side, making it lodge itself firmly in the wall next to her, but also tearing part of her hood. She paused for a moment, seeming to stare at the commander while keeping herself attached to the wall. She could've grabbed the sword to fight with it, but her weapon required two hands most of the time anyways, and she wasn't really good with swords.

Seeing her hesitation, the commander smirked confidently. "What's wrong? Frozen in fear? I don't blame you, Lord Freeza didn't put me in charge of this planet for nothing!" He gloated proudly, puffing his chest out.

Phoenix finally stepped back onto the floor, her curved blade hovering over the floor in front of her as she held the pole in one hand. "I'm trying to understand why that lizard put such a weakling in charge of this planet."

It was the commander's turn to pause now, as if processing those words before he growled and pointed at her. "W-what?! You don't know what you're talking about! You can't even touch me!" He yelled in a fluster before stomping on the floor in a comical fashion. "And how dare you call Lord Freeza a lizard! I'll make sure there's nothing left of-"

"Phoenix, are you there? I have some troubling news." Natsume's voice said on the communication device, distracting her from the commander's ramblings.

She raised a hand and pushed on a small button on the ear piece in her ear. "What's the problem?" She asked, lowering her voice so the commander wouldn't hear her.

"I have several large ships in route to this planet, they're all from the Cold Army, and from what I could pick up on comms, one of Freeza's higher commanders is on one of the ships. I believe its Dodoria."

Phoenix paused, as if furrowing her brow. That was bad news. "Tell the others. I'm finishing up with this idiot then I'll be at the ship. How long do we have?"

"About five minutes, if we're lucky."

"I understand, if I take too long, take off. I'll send my coordinates to you to pick me up."

"Understood." With that, the communication ended between them and the commander finally realized she wasn't paying attention to his speech.

"Are you even listening to me!?" He yelled at her, his face seeming to turn red from anger.

"Hm?" Phoenix looked up at him again, lowering her arm. "Oh right, you're still here."

"What was that!?" A vein could be seen on his forehead. "That's it! I'm done playing with you!"

A sigh was heard from Phoenix as she gripped her pole with both hands now. "It took you long enough." She said, smirking under her mask as he grew angrier with each comment.

The commander let out a war cry as he charged at Phoenix, Phoenix doing the same to meet him halfway, their weapons colliding and making sparks fly between them.

"Is that really all of them?" Malroth whined, kicking a dead soldier in the side with a bored look on his face.

"It looks like it, or the rest are hiding somewhere." Inu replied, sitting on a nearby rock with her elbows on her knees and chin resting on her hands. "Then again, it's a whole planet, so there might be more outposts or something with them." She added, looking around the corpse-ridden battleground.

"They can stay hidden for all I care. Maybe they'll learn to leave the Cold army." Saji mumbled, standing close to the group next to Broly with her arms crossed over her chest.

"But then we won't get to kill as many people!" Malroth whined once again, looking to Saji.

Haku was silent as he listened to their conversation, wonder how they could all be so calm after a battle like that and killing so many people. None of them were unscathed, each one having their own bruises, cuts, or scratches, but no one was too badly hurt. Still, he wondered where Phoenix was, turning to survey the battlefield again, but like the last few times he looked, there was no sign of her. Being the only one unfamiliar to this, he heaved a heavy sigh, drooping his shoulders, and accidentally drawing the attention of his comrades.

"Why the long face, newbie?" Malroth asked, bounding over to Haku and practically running into him to wrap an arm around his shoulders. "We just won a big fight! I think we deserve a big meal, right?" He grinned, looking to Inu who frowned at him.

"You say that every time we win a battle, Mal. And like all the other times, I'm not getting into our food reserves so you can pig out. Besides, Haku probably isn't used to seeing so many dead bodies or killing people, so lay off him, will ya?" Inu pointed out, giving Malroth a disapproving look now.

Malroth looked annoyed at Inu, averting his gaze and blowing a sigh out through his lips. "You're no fun…" He muttered as he went off to mess with another corpse.

"Sorry about him…again…" Inu apologized to Haku. "I'm sure I've said it before, but he has no filter and gets way too excited about killing things. Are you-" She was about to ask if Haku was okay until Natsume contacted the group via their earpiece, except for Haku of course.

"Everyone, there are reinforcements coming. Phoenix has ordered everyone back to the ship to retreat now. We don't have much time." Natsume instructed the group.

"Got it, we'll be there shortly. Just give us the location." Inu replied, pushing a small button on the earpiece to talk.

"There should be a large pillar to the south of the battlefield, go there."

"Understood." Inu cut off comms and looked at the confused Haku. "We need to move, they're sending reinforcements." She instructed.

"But why do we need to leave? We can fight more if we stay here…" Malroth complained, drawing Inu's attention.

"I dunno. I admit, it's strange as we don't retreat normally, but we shouldn't question it, there isn't time it sounds like. We can ask Natsu when we get back." Inu replied, which got a groan from Malroth, but he reluctantly nodded. Saji and Broly took to the sky while Inu changed to her fox form and ran, Malroth taking off running as well.

"Wait…what exactly happened?" Haku asked, changing into a bird and following after the group as they headed south. "And where is Phoenix?" He dropped enough so he was above Inu.

"I don't know about Phoenix." Inu replied shortly. "We'll know more when we get back. Just focus on hurrying!"

Haku could only nod, flapping his wings as fast as he could without overexerting himself. As they made their way through the battlefield, there was a burst of light in the distance, catching his attention. He stopped for a moment to look at what it was, seeing a large tower in the distance with orange ki exploding from the bottom of it, blowing out most of the walls on the first floor and making the building unstable. He was sure that was where Phoenix was, but before he could fly towards it, Inu yelled at him.

"Haku! There isn't time to sight see! Let's go!" She scolded him.

"C-coming!" He quickly flew after her and the others.

Pivoting on one foot, Phoenix spun to throw a roundhouse kick to the commander's side, getting blocked by his free arm while the other was using his sword to block her scythe from cutting into his arm. He pushed both arms out in an attempt to push both her weapon and her leg away, but only succeeded in pushing her leg away, her weapon instead slid down his weapon and cut into his leg instead, cutting deep into the skin. The commander screamed in pain, but now that his sword arm wasn't occupied with keeping her scythe at bay, he swung it upwards to slice into her right shoulder, tearing the clothing and drawing blood. Phoenix grunted in pain and jumped away from the commander, blood soaking into her clothes around her wound.

Seeing the blood he drew made the commander grin. "Haha!" He laughed triumphantly. "Looks like you bit off more than you could chew! I can't believe Lord Freeza was scared of such a weakling!"

"Don't let him hear you saying that." Phoenix spoke up, her weapon now starting to glow a bright orange.

In the blink of an eye, she was right in front of him, swinging her blade at him at unbelievable speed. He only had a moment to react, putting his sword up to block the orange blade just a little too late as the now heated blade sank into his arm, ripping another scream from his throat. Normally, it would just be a cut, but the blade had gotten quite hot, so much so that the air around the blade looked like it was shimmering, so it was essentially cauterizing the wound with the blade still embedded in it. As a result, it was much worse when she jerked the blade out of his skin, causing some of the melted skin to be ripped off.

"If that lizard heard you, you would be killed on the spot." She spoke, her voice monotone as she watched him writhe in pain.

"How…did you…?" He stammered, holding his injured arm as blood ran down said arm. He looked up to her as he asked to see she had a ball of ki floating over her hand that let go of the pole for her weapon. "What are you…? You can fire that at me, but you'll miss! I guarantee you!"

"Hm?" She turned her head slightly to look at the ki above her hand. "Oh, this isn't for you." She spoke before slamming said hand into the floor, cracks formed in the floor between her and him, spreading out to the majority of the room and making the commander jump back to avoid it. The cracks glowed with a bright orange light before the floor was disintegrated by a large wave of orange ki, which shot downward to destroy all the floors below them. Shortly after, the building began to shake and even sway slightly.

"W-what did you do!?" The commander yelled at her as she straightened up.

She looked at him across the hole in the floor between them. "I just destroyed some of the stability in this place, it will collapse soon." She stated simply.

"You…you idiot! We'll both be crushed and die!" He yelled, starting to panic now.

"Both?" She repeated as a question, cocking her head to the side. "No, the only one dying here will be you." She stated, lowering her stance. She placed her free hand on the pole for her weapon, the blade was now coated in what looked like flaming ki, glowing brightly.

"You honestly think you can kill me!?" The commander asked her. "Ha! You could barely hit be before! What makes you think you can kill me with that!?"

"Simple." She replied. "I was holding back." With that, she let out a battle cry as she swung her scythe at the commander. A massive cone of ki exploded out from the scythe, charging towards him while ripping the floor apart. The commander wasn't expecting such a wide and powerful attack, previously planning on just dodging it, but there was nowhere for him to go.

"W-wait!" He screamed, but his cries fell on deaf ears and were soon gone as he was engulfed in the ki, disintegrating him into nothing. The attack continued onwards though, bursting through the wall behind where he was previously standing and effectively destroying it before continuing into the distance, eventually petering out.

"Hmph…" Phoenix scoffed to herself. "Still need to work on the control for that." She thought out loud, sheathing her scythe on her back.

"Phoenix!" Natsume's frantic voice sounded on her comms device. "Where are you!? They're here! I had to take off!"

Phoenix mentally cursed at herself, she took too long. She ran to the hole in the wall her weapon made and looked at her surrounds before replying to Natsume. "There's a tower to the east of the battlefield, I'm there. Its about to collapse, so just fly by."

"Fly by? Are you sure?"

"I'm sure, just don't get too close. I'm counting on you." She replied as she went back to the control panel.

"Understood. I really hope you know what you're doing."

She wouldn't reply, relying on what she could see and hear through the holes in the walls to know when Natsume was close. When she approached the devices on the control panel, she blasted them to pieces, making sure nothing was left of them. She then looked for the swords the commander had used, but only found one of them, which she picked up and decided to keep for now.

"They got here way faster than I thought they would…" Haku could hear Natsume muttering to himself as the door closed behind him and the others, he could feel the ship start to levitate.

"W-wait a second! What about Phoenix?" Haku asked, peeking into the cockpit.

"She told us to meet her at a tower to the east of the battlefield you guys were on. We're going to fly by and pick her up." Natsume explained.

"Fly by? We aren't going to stop?"

Natsume shook his head. "Nope! Just trust her." He said as he steered the ship towards the tower Haku previously saw had energy coming out of it. They could see it was smoking and was on the verge of collapsing. Natsume sped up to make them zoom towards the tower, making Haku fall flat on his ass. "Go sit down please!" Natsume instructed, continuing to steer the ship.

The building continued to deteriorate, chunks falling off it and crashing into the ground as it started to lean more and more to the left, which was where they were going. It was too late for Natsume to change course though, they were going to fast and would crash into the building if he turned. However, that wasn't his only concern now, his radar picked up something, or someone, approaching the ship at an alarming speed, he could only assume it was Dodoria. He had to step on the acceleration more, telling the others to hang onto something as he did. The building was coming up, but he saw no signs of their leader, causing his anxiety to grow, he couldn't slow down from Dodoria catching up, and if he did, they would definitely get caught by the building as it started to collapse to the left.

As his dread continued to grow, he saw a familiar figure jump out of the top floor of the building as they rapidly approached the building, the figure was followed by dust and debris, this was going to be close. Gritting his teeth, and praying for the best, the ship sped past the building, a single thud was heard, followed by what sounded like small rocks hitting the top of the ship, but nothing else. He quickly pulled up a camera on the top of the ship, feeling instant relief as he saw Phoenix had landed on the top of the ship, and it looked like she had blasted away any large debris that would've hit the ship. Now, she was crouched down and tapping on the metal of the ship. He let out a sigh of relief as he unlocked the top hatch behind her.

Phoenix landed on shaky legs as the ship sped past the building, barely managing to keep her balance from how fast it was moving. She had to be fast though and spun around to blast away the large chunk of debris that was right behind her, blasting it to bits before it could crash into the ship, but also covering her and said ship in dust.

'Why is he going so fast…?' She couldn't help but wonder, crouching down so she wouldn't fly off. She tapped on the top of the ship, hoping Natsume was watching the camera on the top of the ship, which was confirmed that he was when the hatch opened up behind her. Glad this was over, she turned around to go inside, but then stopped when she saw why he was going so fast. Not too far behind the ship, the high commander Natsume was warning her about was chasing after them: Dodoria.
