This one was requested by Bluewolfbat who suggested good ideas but idk how to write them so I decided to pick this one since it best fitted my version of Ryder plus, this story has a twist a bit since there's something about my version of Ryder that you guys will be shocked about
It all started one fall day where all the kids are going to their first day of school and adults are going to work. Wait, did I say all the kids? I mean, all but one kid is going to school. Ryder was only 8 at the time and he recently joined the Paw Patrol which was first formed by someone who disappeared. The long time member of the Paw Patrol is a Male German Shepard named Bullet who is Chase's father. He was teaching Ryder how to be a leader and it was kind of a challenge because Ryder was a really shy kid, he is so shy that he hid behind his God parents legs when he first came to the lookout but he only trusts Bullet so far because he's an adult dog. As Bullet was teaching Ryder how to fix a motor in the Garage, a small young German Shepard ran into the Garage exclaiming "DAAAD!!!! MARSHALL RAN INTO THE TREE HARD AGAIN BUT HE'S BLEEDING!!!!!" "Alright Chase calm down." Bullet told the pup and he then told Ryder "Ryder, you can continue on the motor or you can wait for me to come back ok? Chase, stay here with Ryder." "Kk Bullet S-si-sir." Ryder replied and Chase replied with "Alright Dad!" Bullet smiled and he went to go make Marshall the young Dalmatian was ok. Chase looked over to Ryder who went back to working on the Motor because he wasn't ready to talk to one of the young pups close to his age yet. Even though it's been a few months after Ryder's 8th birthday and after he joined the paw patrol, he still wasn't comfortable with one on one chats with the young pups. Chase on the other hand wanted to get to know Ryder so he asked which caught Ryder off guard "What type of motor you're working on?" "Ummm... we-well... u-ummmm..." Ryder replied. Ryder was still learning to not stutter as much and to be better with pronouncing his Rs because he had a hard time learing to talk and while growing up from 0-3yrs old he still struggled a bit plus when he was raised by his God Parents. So, Ryder was behind on talking but his knowledge on other stuff was way beyond kids his age. "Can I see?" Chase asked Ryder and Ryder nodded as he moved to the side for Chase to see. "Woah! That's not like the motor that's used for our parents pup houses, it looks like it's for a vehicle that's meant for one simple task which is transportation!" Chase admitted and Ryder nodded as he went back to work on it. The rest of the time was quiet because 1, the human of the duo wasn't much of a talker and 2, Chase didn't want to make Ryder uncomfortable. When Bullet came back, Ryder was done with the Motor and Chase somehow managed to clap for Ryder but Chase soon stopped because it scared Ryder. "Ok Ryder, I would want you to put this Motor in that hood over there that's part of that vehicle. I have something in mind that I would like to show you and teach you since you would need it for missions when you're ready to go on them." Bullet explained to Ryder and Ryder did as he was told to do. When he was done he closed the hood and he followed Bullet. Chase also followed his dad and the three of them went to the lookout's doors. Chase went inside because he wants to make sure that Marshall was ok plus he wanted to also play with the others. "Ryder, when you put that Motor in the vehicle did you know what the vehicle is?" Bullet asked Ryder and Ryder shook his head no. "Well, that vehicle is an ATV that used to be built from the Previous Leader aka the founder of the Paw Patrol. I fixed it up a bit but the Motor was a human's job and I know that whoever is going to be the next leader, they would have to know how to fix up a motor, so I left that alone. Now since we have the ATV all done, tomorrow I can teach you how to drive it ok? It would take practice but the pups can help you out since they have experience in driving vehicles." Bullet explained and Ryder replied with "Yes Bullet S-si-si uhhh..." "Sir." Bullet helped Ryder then said "Yes Bullet Si-sir." like he corrected himself.
The next day, Ryder helped Bullet push the ATV out of the garage and into the yard. Bullet aligned the yard's edges with nets and cones for safety since this will be teaching someone who knows the traffic laws and driving rules but they don't know how to drive tho. The young 5 pups sat down away from the learing area for their safety they stayed close by for back up. "Alright Ryder, driving the ATV will be like learing how to ride a bike. Do you know how to ride a bike?" Bullet explained and Ryder shrugged. "Ok, so the pedal on your left side near your foot is the gas pedal, while the handle on your right side has a..." Bullet explained to Ryder and Ryder payed close attention. When Bullet was done showing Ryder what parts were what to the ATV to help make it drive including why the pup pad is there what the pup pad does. It was time for Ryder to try to drive the ATV for the first time which turned out interesting. "Ok, Ryder you see that line of cones over there in the middle of the course?" Bullet asked Ryder and Ryder nodded. "I want you to drive over to it ok?" Bullet asked Ryder and Ryder nodded. Ryder then started to inch the ATV slowly to the line of cones but then Rocky the young gray mix pup noticed that Ryder's tire on the ATV was loose so he exclaimed "RYDER STOP THERE'S A LOOSE TIRE ON THE ATV!!!!" and Ryder stopped. Rocky went over to the ATV with his pup pack that he's been working with so, he tightened up the ATV along with making sure that all tires were on tight and inflated so nothing bad happens. When Rocky was done and was about to head back to the others, Ryder told Rocky "Th-thank you f-fo-r fix-ing the ti-tie-tier R-r-ocky." Rocky smiled and he replied with "You're welcome! I was just doing my job." Rocky then went back to the other pups and Ryder went back to trying to drive to the cones which means it was back to slow inching. 25 minutes go by and Ryder made it to the cones so he used his brakes to stop. Ryder smiled at his accomplishment and He looked at Bullet. "Nice job Ryder! Also good job Rocky!" Bullet admitted and both of the boys smiled. Bullet knew that maybe learing how to drive an ATV may make Ryder more comfortable with talking to the pups.
As they further on with the lessons, each pup during it had their special moment like when Ryder was too scared about turning because he thought the ATV would tip over, Skye helped Ryder by using her wings to teach him how to turn carefully, or the moment when Ryder had to drive at stuff when there's a stopsign and he's coming back from a mission, Chase helped him by pretending to be a stopsign while Marshall a dalmatian pup and Rocky pretended to be a pedestrians walking the streets or cars crossing, or the time when a critter got in the way and Ryder didn't see it, Zuma a chocolate lab pup exclaimed really loud to stop so that the critter could be safe which worked. Bonus, when the pups helped Ryder out he always say thank you to them and they have a nice reply. Marshall even gave Ryder a high five (or high paw in Marshall's case) because of how well Ryder did when Marshall pretending to be a car in that moment. Ryder started to feel comfortable around them and after each lesson they would always talk about how well it went and what they can work on. Bullet smiled at the moment and he knew that things are brightening up a bit for Ryder and the pups.
Phew! Now that's all done with, I hope you guys can understand more of what I think Ryder used to be like which is interesting in a way but what do you guys think about the chapter? Anyways, I hoped you guys enjoyed it cya all in the next chapter. Bye!!!
