Whoever chose a way for Mayor Goodway and Ryder to bound, I'm sorry but I feel really uncomfortable to do it. I hope you understand and enjoy this story that was inspired by Jac Frost's story Thanatophobia, Fear of Death chapter 2 and 3 but I mixed things up a bit and if you're reading this Jac, WHY DID YOU WRITE THAT IN CHAPTER 3 JUST WHY MY HEART!!!!!!!
"PAW PATROL TO THE AIR PATROLLER!!!!" Ryder exclaimed in a panic and the pups all exclaimed at once as they all ran to the air patroller in a hurry. They never heard Ryder so panicked before unless someone he cares about is in real danger. Marshall then tripped on the entrance of the Air Patroller. "Marshal, there's no time!!!!" Ryder exclaimed as he picked up Marshall and he ran into the Air Patroller with the pups.
When the pups got in the hair Patroller took off before the pups sat down. When the pups sat down, Chase exclaimed very quickly "Ready For action Ryder sir!!!" "Carlos called me in a panic and he said that Mandy was on top of the volcano when she fell in and she's on a ledge in the volcano. Danny's at the top making sure that Mandy is calm but cracks are slowly forming underneath him without him noticing and Carlos can't tell him or the cracks will get worse. We have to hurry with this one to save pups or we could possibly loose one life or two. Skye, we're taking your copper. You'll use the harness so we're able to lift up Mandy and in case Danny falls in we'll lift him up too. Marshall, we have oxygen masks and if you're up for it then you and me will go rescue Mandy and bring her up here so we can treat her wounds and give her the oxygen she needs in case she inhaled to much smoke. Everypup else, be ready we may need you!" Ryder explained to the pups and they nodded. Skye, Marshall, and Ryder got ready to jump out because they need to work fast but Ryder was panicking in his head like how he normally does when his pups were in danger. He couldn't keep most of it in when Chase went missing because Chase was missing in a different country/state/whatever Barkingburg is.
When they got to the location Skye, Marshall, and Ryder jumped out and as Marshall and Ryder were flying towards where Danny was, they saw Danny slipping and falling into the volcano and onto a ledge that's close to the lava but wasn't. "DANNY!!!!" Ryder exclaimed and he quickly flew in with his oxygen mask on. Marshall flew after Ryder but Ryder then told Marshall "Go get Mandy, I'll get Danny. Mandy will need help ASAP so you'll have to fly her out of there and onto the air patroller. If I don't come back then don't come for me ok? I don't want to risk you or the pups in danger." "But-" Marshall replied about that last part what Ryder said but Ryder yelled "That's. An. ORDER!!!" Marshall was shocked because Ryder never yelled at him before but he then agreed to Ryder's plan and he went to Mandy.
As he did that, Ryder went to Danny but the landing was a bit rough and he got his foot caught in rocks but he didn't noticed it. "Danny, are you ok!?!" Ryder asked in a panic. "I'm fi-" Danny replied but then he started to cough. Ryder then tried to move his foot but he realized that he was stuck but he needed to help Danny. Just then he took off his oxygen mask and he gave it to Danny and he put it on him. "Skye, lower your harness over here." Ryder told Skye over coms and Skye did what she was told. Ryder then put the harness on Danny but Danny asked "Ryder what are you doing?! You know what this is kinda like!?!" "I don't care, as long as your safe." Ryder admitted but then Danny lowered the mask a bit and he kissed Ryder on the lips quickly. They haven't told the pups yet that they were dating but if this was Ryder's last moment then he had to give Ryder one last kiss. Ryder kissed back a bit and when the two pulled away, Ryder put Danny's mask back over him and he muttered "I love you" to Danny and Ryder then told Skye through the coms "Lift him up." Skye then did so and she got Danny to safety and on the ground to the other pups. Marshall was on the Air Patroller with Mandy and he was treating her burns and such. Chase then noticed the Oxygen mask on Danny and he asked "Isn't that Ryder's Oxygen mask?" Danny nodded. "We need to go rescue hi-" Chase exclaimed but then Marshall said through the pup tags what Ryder told him. The pups had to follow orders but then Danny got an idea and they all felt the ground started to shake. "He didn't say anything about me tho, if I can get in there and get him out then we won't loose him." "Danny, you know how crazy that is!?! That's basically Suicide!!!!" Carlos exclaimed in fear. "I know, and crazy is my middle name!!!" Danny exclaimed and he then told Rubble "Rubble, I need to borrow your hammer. He may be stuck and I'll need something to get him out of it. Someone tell Robo-Dog to land the Air Patroller ok? I don't want to risk anything while trying to get in it from the air after I rescue Ryder plus Marshall might be done healing Mandy." Danny then exclaimed to Skye "Bring me back to the volcano. Now!!!" Skye nodded and she did so.
Meanwhile with Ryder, he was trying not to pass out while he was trying to get his foot unstuck plus he was trying to reach Mandy's crown. He was soon able to grab it but he heard a crack noise that came from his foot and he felt a wave of pain. He tried not to scream but he then inhaled too much smoke and he then started to cough. He didn't know what to do but then he remembered his Jetpack so he tried to use it but he failed because it was overheated. He then started to feel a bit dizzy and a bit nauseous probably from his foot but that didn't stop him from trying to get free. He tried and tried again but his condition started to get worse when he felt the volcano shake and tones of smoke started to fill the air and around him but he was inhaling too much of it. He then soon passed out but the last thing he heard before drifting into unconsciousness was Danny exclaiming his name but Ryder got confused because he could have sworn that Danny was already safe at the bottom of the volcano.
As soon as he touched the ledge, he saw Ryder passed out on the ledge so he exclaimed "RYDER!!!!" as he ran over to him. Once he got over to Ryder he saw his foot twisted in a way that his foot or ankle might be broken so he used the shovel carefully and he got Ryder's foot free. He then put his hands on Ryder's shoulders and he tried to wake him up but it wasn't working and the smoke was starting to get too much so Danny picked up Bridal style and he exclaimed to Skye "Get us out of here NOW!!!!" and Skye did so very quickly.
Once everyone was on the Air Patroller, Marshall saw Ryder's foot and his condition so he immediately told Danny to set Ryder on the seat that was the passenger side of the Air Patroller. Danny did so and he panicked a bit in his head. Marshall looked over him but when it came to his pulse, it was really weak and he needed medical attention from other humans straight away. Marshall gave that type of look to Chase and Chase nodded. Chase then told Robo-Dog "Head full course to the hospital, we can't loose him!" Robo-Dog nodded and he did what he was told. The force of the Air Patroller was really hard that it sent the pups *not Marshall* to the other seat and it buckle them all up while Carlos hit into Ryder's normal seat and it buckle him up too. Mandy, Marshall, and Danny were holding on tight to the seat Ryder was on. Ryder almost slipped off but Danny grabbed Ryder's waist before Ryder fell off the seat. He was hoping that Ryder would be ok as Marshall placed an Oxygen mask on him (*Ryder) to give him enough oxygen.
Danny was pacing back and fourth in the waiting room. He wasn't the only one doing so because Marshall, Rubble, Chase, Rocky, Zuma, Skye, and Carlos were doing so. Tracker was also panicking but he wasn't pacing. He was making sure that Mandy was behaving herself as a doctor that was also really good at healing animals was making sure Mandy was ok. She's ok to those wondering and she's all healed up but the doctor noticed the pacing pack so he then told the group to sit down. All of them did except for Danny, the pups were confused why Danny was this panicked about Ryder when the two were "just friends". Carlos knew about the two dating because he caught them kissing one time..
Flashback
Carlos and Tracker were visiting the pups but the pups weren't at the lookout, they were at the park so Tracker went to go join the pups and Carlos decided to go look for Ryder. That's when he came to the back of the lookout and he saw Danny pinning Ryder against it. Carlos didn't know what to do so he hid in a bush that was close by. Carlos then peaked through the bushes leaves with a rabbit that was also there and they heard Danny telling Ryder "You know we can kiss if you want to since the pups aren't here..." "You dragged me back here and pinned me the wall just to tell me that? You could have asked when the pups left to go play at the park." Ryder admitted and Danny blushed but then he replied with "What if someone were to come to the lookout?" "Well I don't know about what will happen if that ha-" Ryder admitted but that's when Danny kissed Ryder. Ryder blushed but then he kissed back and Carlos was trying not to squeal because of what's happening. Carlos then stepped back but he then accidentally stepped on a stick and it made a big crack sound. Danny and Ryder heard and Danny stood in front of Ryder to protect him but that's when Carlos and the Rabbit popped out from the bush. Both Danny and Ryder sighed in relief and Ryder then admitted "It's just Carlos." "Soooo... You and Danny?" Carlos asked while in a teasing way. Ryder and Danny both blushed while Carlos giggled but then Ryder told Carlos "Please don't tell the pups, I recently came out to them but I haven't told them about me and Danny yet." "How long have you two..." Carlos asked but Danny replied with "About 4 months." "Ok, I won't tell." Carlos admitted and Ryder smiled.
End of Flashback
Carlos then gave Danny a He'll he fine look but Danny was still pacing back and fourth. Danny was nervous and panicked about Ryder's condition but that's when Mandy ran over to Danny and she hugged him. Danny smiled and he hugged back as he smiled. An hour goes by and a doctor asked the paw patrol, Mandy, and Danny (I'm counting Carlos as part of the paw patrol) if they were with Ryder and Danny nodded. "Your friend and cousin is very lucky." The doctor admitted but Carlos got confused. "Carlos and Ryder are pen pals." Danny admitted and the doctor apologized for the misunderstanding. "Anyways, you friend his very lucky. If he inhaled a bit more smoke then we could have lost him. We gave him more oxygen and he has severe burns and his ankle is broken so he'll need to be in a cast and he has to stay in bed until it's all better." The doctor explained and Marshall took notes so he knows what to do when Ryder's able to go home.
When they were able to see Ryder, Danny ran out and he tried to find Ryder's room. Carlos then stopped him and the two joined the group and they went to Ryder's room. When they got there and when they entered, they saw an IV, heart monitor, and and oxygen mask thing (forgot what it's called) hooked up to Ryder and Ryder was asleep. "What are those machines hooked up to Ryder?" Rubble asked and Carlos told him that they're there to help Ryder. An hour goes by and Ryder started to wake up, the pups were all on his bed while Danny, Carlos, and Mandy were in chairs. "Wh-what happened? Wh-where am I?" Ryder asked and Carlos told him what happened. "What you did was basically Suicide!" Danny admitted but then Ryder replied with "What YOU did was basically Suicide!" and the two chuckled while the others giggled. Ryder then saw his (*Ryder's) arms and they had black spots on them, his wrists had bandages on them, and he saw the cords connected to him. He was confused but that's when he's in the hospital, he then asked "How did you guys managed to get me here?" that's when everyone pointed to Danny and they all said "He carried you." that's when Danny and Ryder blushed. "Oooooooo!!!" the pups exclaimed and the two blushed a bit more. Few hours go by and they were trying to decided who should stay with Ryder for the night. Danny was hoping that he would be chosen but the pups weren't getting the hints.
"Why don't we let Danny stay here since you pups can't choose to either one of you to stay here." Carlos admitted and the pups sighed and they nodded. Danny was happy but he was trying to act cool on the outside. The pups then gave each other a Carlos made the right the decision and He totally has a crush on Ryder look. So the pups then told Danny to make sure Ryder stays ok and if anything happens then he needs to call them. Danny nodded and he took mental notes on which pups not to get on their bad side.
When they left and when Danny got back to Ryder's room, Ryder asked Danny "Can we- *cough cough* -try to cuddle please?" Danny nodded and he layed down next to Ryder on the bed. The two then fell asleep an hour later because it was late and they were both tired from the mission but it didn't help them hide their relationship the next day when the pups ( Everest), Jake, Carlos, Katie came to visit because they didn't want to disturb the two yet from their peaceful sleep. It turns out that they all knew when they started dating from the obvious signs when they first showed up but they didn't say anything.
