A blue sun in day instead of the normal color of the sun is rather rare to see but it can give such an effect on any type of Wolf Hybrid giving them immense pain but it won't kill them. They have to stay in bed to prevent anything bad happening to them while in public or in their household. The blue sun can last for a few days and almost up to a week but it's rare if it's just a day or more than one week. In order to hold back the Wolf Hybrid's pain then you can give it pain killers that are for it's age, a heating pad/heated water bottle on it's backside, a hot bath, and rest. The pain is like a cramp for females so treat their pain like you're treating cramps.
Ryder woke up a bit later than normal and he felt like he was in absolute and utter pain. He didn't know what he was having but he decided to brush it off and he managed to get himself ready for the day. When he was done he didn't even bother to notice that he was a bit sweating a bit which was really concerning. Anyways, Ryder made his way to the lobby a bit wobbly from the pain and he saw the pups just finishing up their breakfast. Ryder took an apple from the kitchen and he had just that for breakfast and he threw the core away in it's rightful place in the compost. Anyways, Ryder still felt horrible and Rocky noticed so as the other pups went to go play, Rocky went to over to Ryder and asked "Are you ok Ryder? You look like that you're in pain." "I-i'm fine Rocky... Trust me..." Ryder told Rocky as he put his head against the wall. "You don't look fine..." Rocky admitted to Ryder who was just silent. "I said I'm fine Rocky, ok?" Ryder told Rocky and Rocky nodded not wanting to make Ryder mad. Rocky knows that Ryder never gets mad but he doesn't want to be the first one to make him mad. Anyways, Rocky then went over to the other pups who were waiting for him and Ryder knew where the pups were going to which means Ryder was going to be left at the lookout alone. The pups are going to spend the day walking around Adventure Bay so as soon as Rocky got there, they all started to head to town so that they can explore despite knowing it like the back of their paws. Anyways as the pups were on the boardwalk that leads to the docks, instead of seeing Cap'n Turbot cleaning up the flounder they saw François doing it instead. The pups went over to go help him and Chase asked "Hi François, where's Cap'n Turbot?" "Oh! Well uhhh he's not feeling too well so I'm taking over his chores for the day." François explained to the pups. "Can we help you François?" Rocky asked but François replied with "Nope! I am actually done! Now I just need to pick up the (Zee) medicine for Horatio!" He then got off the flounder. The pups then continued to walk around and once they made their way to City Hall, they saw a woman that they saw in the old videos that they watched one time gardening and taking care of the tulips that Mayor Goodway loves plus Chickaletta is with the woman. "Hey, isn't that Brittney from those old videos that we saw?" Skye asked the pups and they all nodded. Chase was excited to introduce himself to her because she's obviously Military! "Let's go introduce ourselves to her! Also ask her why she's doing something Mayor Goodway usually does." Marshall admitted and all of the pups ran over to Brittney. Brittney saw the pups running over and as soon as they got to her, she told them "Hello! You guys must be the current Paw Patrol." Rubble was confused but Chase exclaimed "Yes! We are! I'm Chase." "You're Bullet's and Jenny's son right?" Brittney asked which shocked the main 5 pups and they all nodded leaving Rubble confused. Brittney then named all of the pups and their jobs along with their parents but she didn't know Rubble's name so she just named his mom and his job. "You're right! I'm Rubble by the way!" Rubble told Brittney in excitement. Brittney giggled and she introduced herself "Well, it's nice to meet the pups of the pups that I grew up with. I'm Brittney, Brittney McKay and I think you guys already know my girlfriend Mayor Goodway." "We watched old videos before and one of them had you coming home to Adventure Bay so you can meet Ryder! She told us that you were her girlfriend." Chase admitted and Brittney asked "I'm told that Ryder is the new leader of the paw patrol, am I correct?" the main 5 pups all nodded while Rubble is trying to process about what does Brittney mean by pups she grew up with and by Ryder's the new leader. Rubble then realized that he'll probably learn when he's older abs he shrugged it off. "What are you guys doing here?" Brittney asked and the pups told her. When they were done Brittney replied with "Well, I don't need help for the moment but I'll let you guys know when I need help because since Beverly isn't feeling too good, I'm taking over for now and trust me I will not pull off a nasty Mayor Humdinger." "Who's Beverly?" Rocky asked and Brittney answered with "Mayor Goodway, sorry I kinda forgot you guys don't know her real name." "It's ok Brittney!" Skye replied as she wagged her tail.
Brittney giggled and she petted Skye, soon she gave all of the other pups pets and the pups were really happy. Just then Mayor Humdinger decided to show up and he started to pretend that he was the substitute Mayor. The pups tried to tell him that he wasn't and it was Brittney but he wouldn't listen to them and the kitties decided to bother the citizens. Brittney then whispered to Chase and the other pups "I think you all should go get Ryder before I feel like strangling him." The pups nodded and they all ran to the lookout and they didn't pay attention to the kitties but the pups did jump over the kitties as if showing off. Once they got to the lookout, they woke up Ryder and they told him what happened. Ryder immediately told them to go to the elevator so they can deal with this mission but Ryder decided to join them in the elevator. Which turns out to make a wipe out when Marshall jumped a bit and both him and Ryder tripped as they were running making them crash into the pups in the elevator. "Woops! looks like I tripped into that one!" Marshall admitted and everyone immediately laughed but Ryder felt a pain at his side as he laughed but he tried his best to ignore it. When they all got into the control room and in their normal spots and Chase said his normal line that he always says but I'm not going to type it because of laziness. Anyways they briefed over what their mission is and Ryder assigned the pups to stop the kitties mischief while he stops Mayor Humdinger. As they deployed into their vehicles, Ryder was somehow the last one out and he was behind the pups which concerned them but he told then to go on ahead of him. The mission comes first before him and as soon as he came in contact with the sun, he felt a bit more pain like the blue sun was giving him the pain or something like that and he was wearing his mission jacket like usual on a hot summer day. Anyways when they all got there, Ryder got off his ATV at city hall while the pups took care of the kitties. Ryder went over to Mayor Humdinger and he asked him nicely "Can you please stop what you're doing and go back to Foggy Bottom with your kitties please?" "No, because how can Mayor Goodway let someone who has no experience in Mayoring be a substitute Mayor!" Mayor Humdinger exclaimed and Ryder answered with "Mayoring isn't a word..." The two then started to argue and Brittney was ready to step in just in case but she noticed something off with Ryder and that was that Ryder was shaking a bit in pain or showing some signs that he felt in pain. As the two were arguing Mayor Humdinger was getting a bit close to Ryder but in a way like his anger was getting a bit bigger. Just then Mayor Humdinger shoved Ryder to the ground hard but Ryder tried to play off the extra pain that he felt. Brittney stepped in before Mayor Humdinger can hurt Ryder or do anything bad. Soon, they were able to get Mayor Humdinger to go away because of a lot of citizens who were showing and saying evidence that Brittney was a good substitute Mayor. Anyways when Mayor Humdinger left and the kitties went with him, Brittney went over to Ryder and she helped him sit up a bit but he looked like he was still in pain. "Ryder, what hurts the most?" Brittney asked Ryder like she kinda knows what's wrong with him. That's when the citizens made a little clearing so the pups can run over to Ryder which they did when they all met up at City Hall and got out of their vehicles. Ryder tried to tell Brittney but he couldn't because of how much pain he was in. Ryder then leaned against Brittney and he cried a bit quietly to himself because he couldn't handle the pain anymore. "We need to get Ryder back to the lookout." Marshall told Brittney and Brittney nodded. She then quickly texted something to Mayor Goodway and when she was done, she then put her phone away and she picked up Ryder in her arms.
Once they got back to the lookout, Brittney layed Ryder down on his bed because it was the most comfiest place where he can lay at to help relieve the pain. Brittney then told Marshall and Skye "Can you two go get a heating pad, pain killers, and a hot water bottle please?" The two nodded and they ran out of Ryder's room to grab the things. "Chase, can you please get a hot dampt washcloth? While Rocky, can you see if there's an extra blanket?" Brittney asked the two pups and they nodded and did what they were told. Rubble and Zuma stayed with Ryder and Brittney let them lay next to him. They never seen Ryder in this much pain before which really concerned them and Brittney can tell. Ryder currently sleeping but in his sleep he still looked like he was in pain. "Will Ryder be ok Brittney?" Rubble asked Brittney and Brittney nodded. "I have a feeling that he may feel this way when the sun is like this." Brittney admitted. "What do you mean by that?" Zuma asked Brittney and Brittney replied with "It's best if I tell you when the rest of the pups are here." The two nodded and they waited. When everypup else (had to) returned, Brittney put the water bottle and pain killers on the bedside table along with putting the heating pad underneath Ryder on his back side, the extra blanket over Ryder, and the dampt washcloth on his forehead. When she was done she told all of the pups why the sun was like this and why Ryder is feeling this way. (Read the bold message above for more information) "So I think because of how Ryder's father is an Ultima, Ryder is feeling this way because he has wolf hybrid DNA in him." Brittney told the pups who were all surprised to hear this. "That would explain so much about Ryder!" Rocky admitted which confused Brittney but then Rocky then named the times Ryder showed some wolf hybrid traits like he's allergic to some stuff that's toxic for dogs, he can howl pretty good, he's as fast as the pups, he can jump pretty far without getting hurt, he doesn't need to layer up too much during the winter, he doesn't get too hot in the summer wearing long sleeves and pants, he can climb trees pretty well, he's always agile on his feet, and let's not forget the many times he does animal impressions every time they save an animal but especially animals that are Canines. "That would explain a lot..." Chase admitted and Brittney giggled.
The next few days were just as normal. The pups taking care of Ryder and doing missions which was pretty easy because apparently about 1/3rds of Adventure Bay were hybrids and some of them were wolf hybrids so they were feeling the effects fo the blue sun too. Anyways, it went by pretty easy but it felt really long because the pups hated seeing Ryder like this and worried about those who are wolf hybrids. He even threw up one point from the pain and they even had a night scare one night because of how much pain Ryder felt and it was unbearable to him so all of the pups slept with him that night so that they can help him in case it happened again. Ryder's room basically became a room where the whole paw patrol slept in for those days and they were lucky when the sun only lasted a week. When Ryder was better, it was the highlight for the pups and they immediately started to lick his face which made him laugh. He did felt a bit wobbly when he was able to get up from his bed. He didn't want to feel what he felt during that week ever again and he was really glad to be back in action. Brittney even asked Ryder when he was walking around in Adventure Bay with the pups if he was feeling ok and he nodded. Mayor Goodway was with them and she was confused about what Brittney mean by that until Brittney and the pups told Mayor Goodway what happened. Ryder got a hug from Mayor Goodway from that and he had to legit ask to be let go and put down because of how tight the hug was. Ryder was glad that everything was back to normal for now.
