chapter 2:Of "Gods" and masculinity

Annabeth Chase:

After all that stepmother drama I began my journey to school .To me, the only good part about school is the walk there. I know, Annabeth Chase, the first class nerd doesn't like school? It's not about the work, the work is totally fine. I don't like the people.

Anyways, we'll talk about that later. My house is about 3 miles from my school so I get a little alone all the crap that is going on in my life at the moment, step moms, dads, half brothers, boyfriends...

Speaking of boyfriends, I saw a head of white-blonde hair come out from around a corner and cross onto the sidewalk I was walking on. The boy was wearing dark jeans and a sweatshirt that read "Castellan. #13".

When he saw me he smirked and walked at a quicker pace.

"Hey babe," said Luke. I mentally shivered. I always thought those types of pet names were disgusting.

"Hi Luke." I responded and continued walking at a faster speed. Luke and I started dating at the end of last school year. I met him and Thalia (my best friend) when we were seven. Even though we were the same age, to my 7 year old brain, Luke was a God. To be more specific, a God that I had a massive crush on for 5 years.

Once we arrived in middle school, Luke became a popular guy. Not the same little boy who would call me "sis" and help me through bullies. He became the bully. Not to me but to others like me, and so I still didn't like it and learned to dislike Luke.

But, last year he came up to me and told me he was sorry and that he really liked me and at that moment, I saw the same God I did 9 years ago.

, he was back to being the same jerk, but I was too scared to break us ...here I was. Walking with him to my first day of Junior year.

Suddenly, I saw Luke tense up and look on the other side of the street.

"Jackson," Luke snarled. I looked at where he was looking and saw Percy.

Percy Jackson, swim team captain, lean, black hair, beautiful sea green eyes...anyways, otherwise known as Luke's arch nemesis. Why? I never have been told. Really, it seems that everyone other than me knows.

Not wanting a fight to break out, I grab Luke and quickly walk to our school, which was right in front of us.

"What was that for?" Luke harshly whispered to me as we walked up the steps and into the building.

"Can't have fights on our first day can we?" I ask sarcastically, as I grab my schedule and thank the secretary who gave it to me. My temper, rising for some reason.

Luke rolled his eyes, his pretty boy act already gone, and walked away from me.

Not even a goodbye, I thought angrily. Not noticing that I was crumpling up my schedule in my hand.

"Are you alright?" I hear a voice ask. I turn around to see, none other than Percy Jackson.

Percy Jackson:

"Are you alright?"

Annabeth was standing in the middle of the hallway, fists clenched to her side. The 5 minute warning bell just went off and usually that was when she headed to class.

No I am not stalking her...i'm just very observant.

Annabeth looked up at me with her lovely storm eyes. They were like a grey cloud, with stars...stars as beautiful as a summer night. They were fierce saying "You mess with me or my reputation and you will get your but kicked," which made sense since she was probably the smartest girl in our whole school.

"Oh, i'm fine, just a little frustrated, that's all," she said, de-wrinkling her paper and giving me a quick "bye" before running away to her first class, which is AD math.

I sighed and grabbed my stuff from my locker for English.

Paul would be easy on me, hopefully.

Of course, he was, being the awesome Step-Sad he was, but I couldn't pay attention to class that day. I was too busy thinking about the girl with stormy grey eyes.

Oh, I may have missed a rather important detail.

I've had a massive crush on Annabeth since the 7th grade.
