Percy Jackson:

"Good afternoon class. I know, this is your first day, but we are going to start a partner too see what we already know."

Groans filled the room as well as "It's the first day" and "can we pick our partners"

Mr. Brunner smiled, "No! You may not choose your partners. In fact, I have your partners right here!" he said cheerily, holding up a paper.

More complaints.

"Now, can I get a volunteer...Juniper. Could you hand this paper out?"

Juniper Green, co-CEO of the gardening club, and my best-friend Grover's long time girlfriend.

Juniper smiled and started handing out the papers.

"Now class, you and your assigned partner will both need to choose a Greek hero or God of your choice and write an essay about their relationship, according to the Greek myths," Mr. Brunner explained while Juniper was handing out the papers.

I looked at the list of assigned partners:

Katie and Travis

Conner and Piper

Luke and Nancy

Nico and Thalia

Nini and Leo

Calypso and Naolin

Jason and Will

Annabeth and Percy

The list went on, but I stopped when I saw my name. I was partnered with Annabeth? Sweet! I looked over to said girl who was laughing at something my cousin Thalia said.

Wow, her smile is so-No. This is not how the whole project is going. I need to calm myself

"Please, get together with your partner outside of school as much as you can. You may move next to your partner now. There is 15 minutes left of class. Socialize," and with that, Mr. Brunner enveloped himself in his Roman history book.

I got up and scooted next to Annabeth.

"Hi,"

She looked up at me, looking slightly surprised, and smiled.

"So..."

We sat in awkward silence for a while, until Annabeth spoke.

"Um, we could meet at my house this afternoon to work on the project".

I smiled and nodded.

Annabeth got out a piece of paper and wrote something down.

"Here's my address,"

"Well, We do walk the same route so..."

Annabeth face palmed. "Oh, right. Sorry."

More silence.

A few minutes later, the bell rang.

"Well, see ya later Percy. Bye," Annabeth said hurridly.

"Bye.." but she was long gone.

So, the rest of the day, Annabeth was still the center of my thoughts.

'Maybe Junior year won't be so bad after all' I thought as I walked out of the school and headed over to where Annabeth usually waited before walking home. No! I am not stalking her for the last time!

"Hey Annabeth!"

The blonde angel turned to me and smiled, but it seemed forced. I walked further up to her.

"Hi Percy,"

"What's up?"

Annabeth looked at me again. "The sky," she said frowning.

"I mean, why the sad face? Turn that frown upside down!" I said brightly.

Annabeth rolled her beautiful, grey eyes. "You sound like our counselor."

"I was going for the 'peppy guy' title, but counselor works for now," I said smirking.

Annabeth rolled her eyes for the 10th time and walked away. I followed her.

Annabeth Chase:

The walk with Percy was...uneventful.

I did learn though a lot about Percy though. Like how he loved his mom, a lot. Mr. Blofis, our English teacher, was his step-father since his birth father left before he was born. I already knew things like, he loves blue and swimming. That much was obvious, he was the captain of the swim team and has apparently broken state records!

I didn't say much, just that I lived with my dad, step mom, and half brothers.

"Uh, we are here." My house wasn't huge, but it was a decent, two storied house since my dad got paid pretty well as a college professor...

"Yeah."

My step mom and the twins were probably home already, this will be interesting.

"Uh...hey Percy. Be really quiet okay?" I whispered as I slowly opened the door.

"Wait why-" but were interrupted by the devil spawns themselves.

There, right in front of us stood Bobby and Mathew, who soon piled us with questions.

"Who's he?"

"Is he your boyfriend?"

"Why is his hair so messy?"

"Have you guys kissed?"

"What is he doing at our house?"

"Do you know where mom hid the Wii controller?"

"Did you finally break up with that Luke guy?"

You see, ever since Luke came over this summer for dinner and broke the twins "Lego fortress" the twins have hated his guts.

"Percy Jackson. No. His hair looks nice. No. We are partners for a school project. In the pantry behind the sugar. And no, me and Luke have not broken up." yet.

Wait, did I say Percy's hair looks nice? Crap crap crap crap.

I looked at previously where the twins were, but they were already in the pantry, probably looking for their beloved Wii.

I grabbed Percy's hand and dragged him upstairs to my room. Once we were there I flopped on my bed and groaned.

"They better not tell my step-monster that I told them where the Wii was. She'd kill me!

Percy scoffed. "Step-monster? That's not very nice Annie."

I smacked his arm and called him out for calling me Annie.

There were no more interruptions that afternoon. Until the call came.

Percy had just left. We had really only done planning but it still took an hour or two.

I was getting ready for bed, (even though it was only 6:30. Don't judge me) when my phone started ringing.

I groaned.

*On the phone* bold=Luke Underlined=Annabeth

What?

I heard you and Thalia today! You have a thing for Percy? Think me and you aren't "fully into each other"

Luke, your making a big deal out of this. Thalia doesn't know what she's talking about!

Well, its a little deceiving when your girlfriend says she's "not fully into you".

Yeah?! Well, Its also a little deceiving to see your boyfriend flirting with like...10 girls a day!

Don't you "Annabeth" me Castellan. What happened to you? You were so sweet, then we get to high school and your all of a sudden you this big fat jerk!

Annabeth look-

You may be wondering... why does this chick hate being called Annie so much? (word of advice, never call me a "Chick" either. Hate that word.)

Well, let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a happy family. Mom, Dad, and daughter. The mother always called her daughter names like "honey, Babe, Annie, sweet pea" and the daughter loved it.

One day, the girls had a big fight. Like, throwing things big. After that. the daughters life turned upside down. Her mom left. Her dad was too busy, either morning over his lost wife or working, to care about his little 5 year old daughter.

4 or so years later, the man remarried and had children. two "wonderful" twin boys. Both her parents... left in the dust.

So...yeah she just hates pet names.

After I broke up with Luke (yes, its official) I am sad to say... I cried a little. This was my first boyfriend and breakup. Yes, he was a total...donkey, but it was still a breakup.

After I collected myself it was about 7:30. Yes, that's still really early for a 16 year old to go to bed but I needed the sleep
