Inko Midoriya is a strong woman.
She has always been that way, ever since she was born. Strong, loving, kind. Always there for friends and family, sweet like a candy apple and comical when she uses her Quirk to take a friend's snack. A bit worried here and there, panicky at other times, and prone to drown those around her in tears when anything brought her to that point; but that was all that made Inko. Her strength made her admired by Mitsuki Bakugou and loved by Hisashi Midoriya. Everything that made Inko strong, weaknesses and flaws and imperfections included, sculpted into a woman with verdant eyes and a bright smile and an indomitable will.
When her son, Izuku, was born, Inko's strength shifted. Her strength, her happiness, her everything that has made her laugh and grin and cry joyful tears, has been magnified by Izuku. His smile was her smile, his tears were his tears. Her strength took on the desire to protect, to love, to cherish and to nurture. Inko Midoriya gives her strength to Izuku Midoriya and, in turn, he gives her strength.
Inko Midoriya is a strong woman. She is strong for the boy that would never develop a Quirk, strong for the boy that was bullied and isolated, strong for the boy that still idolized and dreamed and reached for the stars.
And when her boy, her boy that found his own strength and kindness and worries and fears, grabbed onto those stars and brought them close to his heart, a rush of emotions traveled through Inko.
Happiness for the achievements. Proud of his undying motivation.
Fright for the pain. Worried at his recklessness.
Grief at the possibility of loss. Suffering at the idea of Izuku being gone, forever.
Inko Midoriya is a strong woman. But there are times when her strength is tested. Where the sight of her son, her precious Izuku, dons bruise after bruise, is riddled with cuts and scraps and his bones are broken beneath his marred skin and she cannot take it. Where she wants to take Izuku and hold him close to her when he is in pain, as every mother does when a child is hurt. Where she sobs and she sobs when the world as they know has collapsed around them and he, her boy, her strength, her life, comes back to the school he loved so much, dirtied and beaten and eyes dull and withered.
Inko Midoriya is a strong woman. She will bear all of her son's pain on her shoulders, carry all of his suffering on her back, sacrifice her own life for him if it meant that he would be safe and sound.
The rain crashes against the concrete. Izuku's classmates, strong in their own ways and hurting just as much as Izuku, placate the civilians that are scared, too. She goes to her boy, and when their eyes meet, her breath catches and she chokes on a sob. Someone holds an umbrella over him and she holds onto his shoulder, watches him wipe his tears away, and she'll provide him the strength and warmth that she's known for, that she was born with. For she is a strong mother and Izuku is her strong son and she will always, always love him.
She holds on to her son, raindrops and tears streaming down her face.
Inko Midoriya is a strong woman, a loving woman, a kind woman, a scared woman.
Inko Midoriya is a strong woman, for both herself and her son.
i love Mama Midoriya so much and i'll accept nothing less than the utmost praise for her.
honestly, after all that Deku has went through, i hope Horikoshi gives them a moment to talk. i'm looking forward to the eventual conversations he'll have with Kacchan and Ochaco and i will most likely cry, but this is his mom of all people and i know that shit will make me sob uncontrollably. and Horikoshi is good for making me cry so…
