I don't own the Flash or any of its characters.
Trigger warning: Mentions eating problems and self-harm so if any of this is going to trigger you, please do not read.
A/N: Here is the chapter thirteen, light and fluffy as promised, though the next one will be darker again, its always darkest before the light. I don't know who said that but its insightful. Anyways, sorry for any mistakes and enjoy!
Caitlin placed an orange down in front of Cisco, it wasn't a big breakfast and even though his stomach hurt he manged to eat it without a problem, "So," Cait began, "What do you want to do today?" Cisco shrugged, so long as he was with Caitlin he didn't mind, Caitlin observed him for a second to see if he genuinely didn't mind, then she thought about something they could do together, it was a warm fall day and it would be nice if they got out of the apartment and did something fun together, take the mind of their problems and their work, "How about we go ice-skating?" she suggested, Cisco looked at her oddly,
"It's warm," he stated,
"Even more of a reason," she told him,
"But your always cold," he countered, Caitlin shrugged then spoke again,
"Do you not want to," she pouted a little, though it was clear it was playful,
"No, no I'm happy to go, but if you get cold, you can't complain," he told her with mock seriousness.
"Yay!" Caitlin exclaimed and clapped her hands together childishly. Cisco playfully rolled his eyes in response,
"We should bring warm clothes then, "he said, standing up from where he sat at her kitchen table, Caitlin nodded and followed him into the bedroom where their clothes were, they both pulled out thick-ish coats, that they could wear while on the ice and thick socks that would keep their feet warm in the skates.
"You ready?" Caitlin asked,
"Yep," the scientist replied popping the p.
"Let's go," Cait exclaimed and grabbed Cisco's hand tugging him out of the apartment.
When they reached the rink, the brunette went over and brought them tickets and picked up skates in their size and brought them back over to where Cisco was sitting on a bench, Cisco was quick to put them on and pull on his coat, but when he looked over at Caitlin she appeared to be struggling, he tried to hide his laugh unsuccessfully, "Hey, don't laugh at me," she swatted at him lightly,
"Sorry, do you want some help," he said, still laughing slightly, not sounding at all sorry, Caitlin tried to do up the laces on the skates again and when she failed to once more, she pouted and nodded, "A literal doctor and she can't put on a pair of ice-skates," he muttered just loud enough for her to hear him. She reached down and hit him gently again, he smirked and tied up her laces for her,
"Thanks," she said as she stood up and pulled on her coat, "ready?"
"Ready." Caitlin grabbed Cisco's hand and they made their way onto the ice. Initially, Cisco stumbled and grabbed onto Caitlin for support, the doctor wasn't the most talented ice-skater, but she enjoyed it and she was good enough to keep herself upright and move around the rink, she held tight onto Cisco's arm while he found his balance and then when he was ready, she let go, watching him like he was a bird flying from the nest for the first time. He was actually a very good ice-skater he kept doing little jumps around the ice and was moving smoothly, it always just took him a minute to get used to the change of texture under his feet. When he got properly into the flow of things he started moving fast, laughing freely as the wind hit his face, he zipped past Cait a couple of times before falling into a slower rhythm next to her. For a weekend the ice was surprisingly emptied only a few more people were there, and the two enjoyed having the freedom to move around the large rink. The two were on the ice for approximately two hours before they stumbled off together cold and laughing. They returned their skates and went outside into the warm, Caitlin's teeth chattered together and going against Cisco's earlier comment of not complaining that she was cold she turned to her friend, "Cisco warm me up please," she batted her eye lashes together and he sighed, rolling his eyes, yet he pulled her into a hug, revelling in the comfort the same she did his body heat, "thanks," she smiled brightly as she pulled away. "So how about we head home and watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, that were we got to yesterday, and we can stop and pick up popcorn on the way home."
"Yeah, that sounds great Cait," Cisco responded smiling back at her, it was the most fun he had in a while and wasn't ready for it to end, one of his favourite movies with his best-friend and the concept of popcorn, even though he wasn't hungry, sounded great.
They had stopped at a grocery store on the way back to Caitlin's home, to grab the popcorn as planned. Caitlin offered to run in and grab it, but Cisco immediately insisted on coming with her, so what was supposed to be just a popcorn pick up turned into a full-blown shopping trip. They picked up meals together, things that Caitlin knew they both liked, Cisco wasn't that helpful, and they grabbed some toiletries. Cisco hadn't brought any of his razors with him and as he was staying with Caitlin for a while, they decided to grab a pack, so he could shave, however there was an undiscussed agreement between them that Caitlin would hang onto them and be there when he used one. After the trip to the shop, they arrived back at Cait's place. Cisco stuck on the Harry Potter movie, like they planned while Caitlin made the popcorn, she made two bowls, there was clearly less in Cisco's which he was grateful for, neither of them spoke about it though, choosing to keep the day as upbeat as possible, before they had to go back to work the next day. They got through both Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix before dinner, which Caitlin made for them, Cisco only manged about half before his stomach started to properly hurt and he had gone so pale that Cait let him stop, though she had wanted him to eat more. After dinner they went through their night routine together, Cisco showering and them getting changed into pyjamas ready for bed, "today was fun," the scientist said, when he climbed into bed,
"Yeah, it was, we should do it again soon," Caitlin responded, climbing into bed as well,
"That would be nice, thank you Cait." Cisco didn't need to explain what he was thanking her for, she knew.
"You're welcome hon, sweet dreams," she shut off her light,
"Sweet dreams Cait," he replied and shut off the light on his side of the bed, encasing them in a comforting darkness.
