The Lost Princess

Hayley Norwood was seemingly abandoned at birth, left to fend for herself for all 26 years of her life. However, when a little boy claiming to be her son tracks her down, he leads her back to his home: a mysterious town called "Storybrooke". There, Hayley finds that there is much more to this town - and her past - than she could have ever imagined. ***IN PROGRESS***

1. Chapter 1

* PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE MOVING FORWARD TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE FIC, THANK YOU :) *

So, let me start by saying this. I have always been very intrigued by the show Once Upon a Time. It wasn't necessarily my favorite show of all time, but I did like it. For the first two seasons especially, I thought it was a pretty solid show. I really liked all of the characters and their world as a whole. However, there were also plenty of things I didn't like about the show, which is what inspired me to write this fic.

First of all, I know a lot of you are not going to like this, but this is just my personal opinion. I was never a huge fan of the main character, Emma. When I first began brainstorming for a good Once Upon a Time fic, I came up with my own OC to insert into the story, but she was more of a side character. However, I trashed that fic and decided to rewrite it with my OC as a replacement for Emma, and I found that I liked it a lot better. So, my fic has an OC that completely replaces Emma's character.

My OC's name is Hayley Norwood. She is named after and based on Hayley Marshall from The Originals. But please bear in mind that although my Hayley is based heavily on Hayley Marshall, they ARE NOT the same character. My OC is entirely different in both character and appearance. I have a composite image of her that I included in the cover image for this story.

Also, since Hayley is replacing Emma, her story remains almost entirely the same up to the start of the fic: being "abandoned" at birth, being the savior, having a son at a young age, etc. I have changed a few aspects of her past to try and keep it original-ish, but nonetheless, it is entirely the same. , but to find out exactly what those are, you will have to read the story :)

Other important things to note about my fic without giving away spoilers:

-Prince Charming no longer has a twin brother. In fact, since he did not have an actual name besides "Charming" in the Enchanted Forest, I took his twin brother's name "James" and gave it to him. "James Charming", if you will. Still David Nolan in Storybrooke, though. He also does still have a brother in my fic, however, but to find out who it is...you'll have to read and see!

-Red Riding Hood/Ruby Lucas is no longer a werewolf. Rather, I made a new OC to play the part of the "big bad wolf" instead: Will (Enchanted Forest)/Peter (Storybrooke). He is based on Peter Rumancek from Hemlock Grove, in both personality and appearance. He is Red/Ruby's love interest, as well as the "wolf" companion of Graham in the Enchanted Forest.

-Speaking of wolves, werewolves are a bit different in nature in my version of the story. They are forced to turn into wolves during the full moon still, yes, but it is a curse in of itself that cannot be avoided by magic or any other means. The only thing that puts a stop to it is the Dark Curse, since magic/curses do not exist in the World Without Magic, i.e. Storybrooke. The transformation all werewolves undergo on the full moon is a painful, bone-breaking experience, much like in the Vampire Diaries/The Originals. However, they do have the ability to transform on the wrong moon, but it comes at a cost. If they turn on the wrong moon, they turn into a "Vargulf": a mentally unstable and highly aggressive werewolf. I took this concept from Hemlock Grove as well. Werewolves play a HUGE role in my fic, so that's why I have to note all of this.

-Now, about Henry and Neal/Baelfire...I did not like the actors who played them. As such, I opted to make my versions of the characters a little different. I did some research and decided to choose several actors and base on their looks on these characters. For Henry, young Leo Howard. And for Neal, Chace Crawford. However, also not being a huge fan of the name "Neal", I have changed to it "Sean". Sorry, these changes are a bit trivial I know, but it's just how I wanted my fic to go about.

That's pretty much all I can think of for now without giving away spoilers. I'm sorry my list is kinda long, but I hope it all made sense...ish. It all comes together in the fic, I promise :p

P.S. This is rated M mainly for language and some violence. There is some brief sexual content later on as well, but it's nothing too explicit.

P.P.S. Also, I'm planning on making this fic into a series, with this story being the first part. I plan to make each story follow each season of the show, and as such this one will follow the first season.

P.P.P.S I only own Hayley, though she is again heavily based on Hayley Marshall from the Originals. Will/Peter is technically my only other OC, but his character is pretty much identical to the character in Hemlock Grove so all credit goes to the creators/writers of that show. Everything else in my fic belongs to the creators/writers of Once Upon a Time. I am not making any money off of this fic and it is purely for entertainment purposes only.
