Chapter 3: Truths

The redheaded vampire turned out to be Sage and as Elena stood in front of her, Sage looked at her in horror.

"Tatia," she breathed. "This was all Kol's plan! Not mine!" Kol looked at her with a look of betrayal, as did Finn.

"You planned it," Kol snarled. "I tried to warn you about the consequences but you didn't care!"

"What happened?" Finn looked around, surprise in his eyes and Klaus patted his shoulder.

"A lot," he mused. "But I'm sure that our sister will explain it to us." His eyes were on Elena who nodded.

"I caught them in a mausoleum," she said with her eyes looking far away. "They were…being intimate," she winced at the angry look Finn held in his eyes, "but they were making a golden dagger and at the time I wasn't sure who it was for-Nik or myself." She shook her head. "I managed to send a message to Nik before they suppressed me and hid any memory of me from all of you…until Nik broke his curse."

Klaus sighed.

"So Isabella isn't your sister?" Bonnie asked and Elena turned to look at her. "This will break her heart."

"Yet she's always treated me like a mother," Elena reminded her. "Whenever Miranda and Grayson were busy with Jeremy and she did something but they were never around?" Bonnie nodded. "I gave her praise. I treated her like a daughter more than they have ever done. Hell-I was a better guardian to her then Jenna could imagine." Both women bowed their heads at the thought of the late Jenna Sommers. "John couldn't give a piece of crap and you think Isobel would have cared about her good grades?" Bonnie shook her head. "If she had her emotions on she would have but without them she didn't. No one in the Gilbert house cared that much about her study habits and the fact she could be out at all hours of the night but I did."

"I found it odd that you worried about Isabella and I," Bonnie admitted. "I think that Grams knew but she didn't know how to help you."

Elena smiled as she hugged the little witch girl.

"I'm just glad that she still has you as a friend Bonnie," Elena whispered. "Now I need you and your mother to go into intense therapy to help you both get to a place you need to be. Forgive her for leaving or not, next to what Isobel did-giving away her daughter-I believe that Abby leaving you was difficult for her and unlike Isobel who became a vampire Abby never shut it off. I think that on every birthday you had she had a cupcake and lit a candle in an effort to wish you a happy birthday."

Abby closed her eyes, as she knew what she did was horrendous but it was mostly Rudy's fault. She had tried to take Bonnie with her but Rudy refused even though he was barely there.

Sheila allowed her to visit her but only through astral projecting and it was only when Bonnie was asleep, as her mother didn't want to tell Bonnie that her parents divorce was the messiest divorce of all alongside with Rudy refusing to let Abby near her.

"Is she…?" Bonnie dared ask Abby. "Is she telling the truth?"

"She is," Abby whispered thickly as she held back her tears. "She's telling the truth." Bonnie had tears in her eyes and as she hugged her mother, her mother hugged her back and Elena dabbed at her eyes with the handkerchief Elijah handed to her.

"So many emotions are running through the house," Marcel whispered. "Dad," he looked at Klaus who looked at him in worry, "I gotta go back to New Orleans and rule it." He winked. "Call sometime and I'll have a damn parade thrown for you old man." He gave him a hug before hugging Elena and then he was gone.

"He's a great king," Elena told him. "I know that one of his rules is that no kids get hurt." She grinned as he nodded, knowing that Marcel would see himself as a child if he were to see the kids hurt.

"Sage…" Finn breathed as he saw her trying to fix her arm. "Why?"

"I wanted to save you all," she told him. "None of you would stand up to the monster so I used Kol."

Elijah cleared his throat, causing his siblings to look at him.

"I tried and I suggested therapy sessions when they became popular," Elijah told them. "Then I thought about putting him in an enchanted slumber. I nearly got neutralized." He shrugged. "Kol and Rebekah would have allowed him to do whatever it was that he wanted while Adeline was on my side and had been looking to find a good sleep spell…when Tia was suppressed."

Sage glowered at him, her eyes heated as angry tears fell down when Finn turned away from her.

"He's telling the truth," Adeline whispered as Katherine entered with a glance at Klaus before her eyes were trained on Adeline. "I was thinking about doing it but when Tia was suppressed it became impossible to find and then I was neutralized." Her eyes met Katherine's who showed worry for her. "The only reason why I remembered her at all is because I'm an Original Heretic like her and like Kol said-if you've practiced magic of any kind you won't be affected unless you're the target."

"Brynn knows that I'm back," Elena tittered. "I called her and told her so she's on her way back home."

"Then maybe I can kill the doppelbitch who stabbed me," Rebekah sneered before she screamed as Elena flicked her wrist, forcing Rebekah to the ground. "Stop it!"

"Make me," Elena told her coldly. "You go after my descendant and I'll make you regret it." Her eyes were burning like flames as she thought of Isabella as a daughter.

"Just because of a dagger to the back," Bonnie sneered at Rebekah. "Did you get a look at her eyes?" Rebekah managed to shake her head. "What makes you think she was acting out of her own will?"

Elijah had both Salvatores against the wall, his eyes murderous.

"Which one of you will die tonight?" He asked and as Finn appeared at his elbow, he grabbed Stefan and plunged his hand into the man's chest, causing him to scream out in pain.

"I did it," Stefan screamed. "I did it!" Before Finn could pull out the heart Sage thrashed about.

"Don't kill him Finn," she cried. "That's not you."

"You don't know me then," he countered coldly before Elena stopped him. "He compelled her!"

"To use a dagger on Rebekah and yet Nik uses them like a child plays with his favorite toy," Elena countered. "If you want to kill a Salvatore then let it be Damon."

Damon was slowly turning grey as Elijah was choking him and had his hand in the man's chest, ready to rip out his heart.

"Why him?" Abby asked and Bonnie whispered, "Caroline?"

"You barely know what she went through but yes," Elena told her softly. "Compelled to share her life force and her bed." She was ticking off her fingers. "Then I asked Liz Forbes if she's seen Damon before and she mentioned something about possibly meeting him in the 1990s so I looked up some old records." Her eyes were narrowed. "There was an autopsy of a pregnant woman-baby girl survived-but the mother didn't. A random pregnant woman finds her way half dead to Dr. Grayson Gilbert? A little bit of snooping in the Salvatore house reveals a lot of hidden photographs…especially of Zach Salvatore with a pregnant woman yet it was hidden."

"Zach has a daughter," Stefan could hear himself say as Elena looked at him. "She's alive but it was her mother-Zach's girlfriend at the time-who Damon fed from. He didn't want to abide by my rules and had followed me here like he did recently."

"And yet you let him live," Finn spat at the downed vampire. "Why doesn't Zach remember her?"

"Well for starters Damon recently ate him," Elena told them. "So asking him is out of the question but if I'm right then…someone compelled him to forget what happened."

"He asked," Stefan gasped as Finn's grip tightened. "I made sure that he knew what he was asking and he wanted it."

"So he died unknowing that his daughter is alive?" Finn snarled before he snapped Stefan's neck and Damon's neck was snapped. "I want them tortured indefinitely."

"Rebekah is also green with jealousy," Bonnie said to Klaus as her eyes narrowed at the blonde female. "She found out that Isabella had dated Stefan who had given her your mother had and now she found out that Caroline is with Stefan."

Rebekah sneered only for Klaus to step in his sister's way.

"He remembers and he wants her," he told her stonily. "There's better fish in the sea for you to sink your claws into." Rebekah glared but tears stained her vision.

"He told me he was my mate," she whispered. "He said that a witch found out that we were meant to be." Finn nearly killed Stefan but instead turned to kill Sage who had laughed cruelly.

Just as Sage began to turn grey a brunette dressed up in a pair of blue jeans and a non descript black shirt appeared with her brown hair in curls.

"Hey mom," Brynn Mikaelson said smiling as she waved to her mother and father, "dad. What a family reunion we're having!"

"Brynn," Elena mused as she walked towards her daughter. "What have you been doing?" She added as her daughter had blood underneath her nails.

"Some blonde girl started a fight with your doppelganger so I got in the way," she explained. "I clawed the blonde's face once she tossed her coffee on me when I was trying to be nice and kind and play peacemaker." She let out a breath. "Obviously I'm not good at being a peacemaker so I clawed her face and snapped her neck before tossing her in the dumpster."

Elena sighed while Bonnie raised an eyebrow but Elijah shook his head before hugging her.

"How was England Brynn honey?" Elijah asked as he kissed the crown of her head.

"I was wishing we all were there but it was fun," she answered as she smiled brightly at him. "How have the states been?"

"So far so good," Klaus said as he walked towards her with a grin. "I just hate the sixties."

"What don't you hate?" She asked him in a teasing tone as she turned to smile at him before looking at the two witches, both Salvatores and a dead Sage. "I have missed a lot." Moving from Elijah's arms she walked towards Bonnie and Abby with a slight smile that was polite but not friendly. "Brynn Mikaelson."

"Abby Bennett Wilson and this is my daughter Bonnie," Abby introduced herself and Bonnie to the Heretic. "Pleased to meet you."
